Motel 6-Amherst, NY - Buffalo

I travel to Buffalo every 5 months and have stayed at this same motel probably 20 nights. I like staying the same place and knowing which way is what. It's right next to the interstate and there is a lot of shopping, dining etc close by. I like that there are no smoking rooms anywhere in the motel. If you stay in the front you will definitely hear a lot of highway noise as the interstate is literally 100 feet away, Wish they would put the vending machines back in. Staff is always friendly.

Ice machine didn’t work. Bathroom floor was filthy had hair on it. Toilet seat was loose. Never will go to a Motel 6 again

Its a Motel 6 so we got what we expected, a very basic accommodation at a reasonable price. One the plus side the beds were very comfortable on the minus side, there is no elevator, so keep that in mind if you have a family or mobility challenges. Plus while the property claims to be smoke free, the hallways sure smell like cigarettes.

The room was as described, well-lit and comfortable. Very convenient location with many dining and shopping options nearby. The university is also close by. There was plenty of parking space available.

It was a nice stay, it was quit everyone was nice even the employees. The only down fall was when I used the washer and dryer at the motel the washer was fine I spent $3.00 for 30mins and of course my clothes where still wet, and they only and one set and it was down stairs they didn’t have any upstairs. Other then that my two rooms where clean.

Building needs some maintenance. Ice machine on second floor doesn't work. First floor one was OK

Our toilet seat was broken, the floor in the bathroom was all bubbly, couldn't get the air conditioner to work right. The bed was very very uncomfortable. There was only one chair for the table if you wanted to sit down to eat. No elevator for someone who had troubles taken the stairs... not very handicap friendly

Easy to find, nice staff. Microwave available. Quiet

The parking area is easy to access. Mostly important when travel by car.

Bedbugs. Bedbugs are bad here. First and second room both had them. The staff was shown and still insisted that they didn't have the bedbugs. Never again will I stay there, questioning use of Xpedia too.

Parking was fine. There was still food in the fridge from the last guest which was disgusting, frozen beers in the freezer which exploded and the fridge itself (exterior) had a slime on it. Night staff was not friendly or helpful at all.

The staff was personable and respectful, and I appreciated their responsiveness to my inquiries. The room was simple and basic, which was exactly what I needed. A major plus is that they allow pets, which is important to me since I travel with my two fur babies. I greatly appreciate hotels that welcome animals without charging extra fees. However, despite these positive aspects, it’s hard to overlook the lack of cleanliness in the room. There was a noticeable amount of dirt and hair throughout, particularly in the bathroom, shower, and on the bed. Cleanliness is essential, regardless of the price point, and this is the primary reason for my rating. Hygiene should be maintained consistently, whether the room costs $100 or $300. In conclusion, while the staff and pet-friendly policy were commendable, the overall experience was significantly impacted by the lack of cleanliness. Hygiene is non-negotiable, and I hope this is addressed for future guests. With attention to this area, the hotel has the potential to offer a much more pleasant stay.

The room smelled. The halls reeked of pot. The cleanliness was questionable. A very thin blanket on the bed. Seemed like the motel doubled as a homeless shelter. Never again

Cleanliness of room.

This place is a dump! Had to move rooms due to 40 dead ants on the bathroom floor, then the second room had bowing floors in the bathroom. The shower is gross and the room has a foul smell to it. Staff is very friendly but the grounds are gross.

There was a bed bug in our room and in another room and the staff failed to accept responsibility even after seeing physical evidence. The BBB and EPA were contacted.

Stains and long black hairs on the sheets!!!

This hotel was not clean at all , not sure who cleans this place but it was horrible , both bathrooms were filthy hair in sinks and tub . Looks like they just made the beds and left. Everything is outdated. Didn’t feel comfortable being there or sleeping at all. Will never stay in a motel 6 again!

There were bugs coming out of under the bed pulled bed from wall more bugs crawling up wall need full credit for this stay

Just very basic room type. But I guess that's what you get for $100/night. All hard floor, no carpet, one basic chair and table in middle of room and the bed had the most basic bedding, no actual comforter. The only plus was the mini fridge

Needs work. Room key doesn’t work in outside doors. No wifi. No fridge, microwave in room. Room is stark. Vinyl floors, no mirror, utilitarian table and chair.

The location is great except for the rooms facing Hwy 290 because of the noise; rooms on the other side have no noise issues but the maintenance in general is not the best. The washroom sink in both rooms we had were nearly fully plugged. The mattresses need to be replaced and the bed covers all need a good wash.

The walls were a bit thin so I could hear everything that went down in the hall and it sounded like someone was in my room’s bathroom when it was just my neighbor using theres

Over priced, no kleenex in room, no microwave, no clock, no coffee maker, tile floors, and a 27 inch tv on its last legs. All this for $180 from Expedia!! Will never stay here or any other Motel 6 again.

The bed was horrible. It was the worst sleep of my life. You could feel and hear each spring in the bed The hot water i n shower was hot and didnt run out The refrigerator functioned The heat in room functioned There was a sufficient amount of channels on the TV Unfortunately i cannot recommend this location due to the uncomfortable bed

I checked in and found the room clean and nice. But the Wifi didn't work - was extremely slow - almost not working at all. I need Wifi, and they advertised that they have it. When I complained, they said I could stay without usable Wifi, or I could leave and they would refund my payment. I left, and found another motel nearby (Budget Inn) that had very fast Wifi.

Easy access to the highway. The wifi was very slow. The bed is not comfortable, the mattress needs to be updated.

Could hear everything going on in the adjacent rooms. Very loud. Decently clean, great location, nice staff, but everything happening in the adjacent rooms is very loud and clear. Do not recommend.

I think her name was Amy at the front desk, she’s amazing!

We came in to the fire alarm dead battery alarm going off and a single pillow on the bed. When brought to his attention the front desk sighed and came to replace the alarm battery which he did by standing on the table in the room with his shoes on. He then left without cleaning the table. He needed to be reminded again about more pillows. Also the shower had not been cleaned as there was soap on the top wall of the shower.

First when booked on Expedia, there was no info stating that they charged a $100 security fee, yes refundable but why is it not in the booking details. I tried to pay cash for the deposit so I could get it back when I checked out. No I could not do that either, I had to use one form of payment. Additionally, housekeeping walked in without knocking, that was rude to say the least. Not happy

Staff helped us with an accessibility issue. Bed sheets were stained.

Was a little weary of the reviews but ended up in a very clean and safe room! Check-in staff seemed a little confused but that was the only real downside of our visit’

When we arrived they placed us in the incorrect room. I had booked a deluxe room that comes with a microwave and fridge. The room we got did not. I went to the desk and complained they were great and moved us to another room. I thought everything was great. WRONG! I looked at my statement and it showed I was charged for the 2 nights. Then another charge for the one night. I went to the front desk to find out what happened. The man at the front desk was incredible rude to say the least. He was talking over top of me and not letting me explain. He accused me of having multiple bookings and said I have to call Expedia. He was so ignorant that I actually had to say to him sir you cannot speak to me like this. Then a friend who was coming inside that night heard him bad mouthing me at the front desk in-front of people. This man should not be allowed to work in customer service. As a manager I would not have this employee working for me. I spoke to Expedia and they assured me that it was indeed the hotel who booked additional bookings that I only had one through Expedia. The agent from Expedia called and tried to explain this to the man who refused to believe it was true and he was rude to her. The agent from Expedia apologized to me for having to deal with this man. Then Expedia told me he said we have to wait until Monday for a refund he can’t do anything. I would never stay there again with this man and how ignorant he was to me in front of other guests.

Convenient location

The room was as described, well-lit and comfortable. Very convenient location with many dining and shopping options nearby. The university is also close by. There was plenty of parking space available.

Basic but room had everything we needed for our one night stay. We had a great dinner at the Anchor Bar next door.

Simple but clean and quiet. Convenient to several food choices and to Niagara Falls. Very polite staff.

Our room had a dripping sink and tub. There was tons of cob webs around room. Bedding had burn holes on them. The entire hotel smelled like pot and there are no smoking signs everyplace . There is no coffee in the morning like it says.

If they include breakfast that would be the best.

The area is what it is (...) The staff and service was either not present or non existing. The bedding was insufficient. The advertised 7-9am breakfast had absolutely nothing left by 8:50 and staff was not present / made no effort to remedy: No coffee, no cups, no plates, no bread, no eggs, no juice.

The people were really nice. They were welcoming and personable. Sadly, this motel needs some serious updating. The bed creaked when I sat on it and wasn’t all that comfortable. The spread was stained. The tub had some nasty staining and was scary because it was very slippery. There is no art on the walls so it was not very warm and welcoming. No coffee maker or microwave was inconvenient. I hate being negative but this place could be a whole lot better. One good point.. the coffee in the lobby was delicious!

It was good and we rested very well, they would only need to have a small refrigerator in the rooms to make it much better for those of us who come from far away with things for the children

I came for a family gathering just a few miles away, the Anchor bar was convenient and looks relatively new. We did not eat there but bartenders are friendly and beer was cold. The room was adequate, towels were a bit threadbare but did the job. Hotel was very quiet but the smell of pot was everywhere. Overall a good value for the money

This is a very basic motel. Smells a bit smokey. My room's bathroom was not even stocked with free toiletries. The room did not feel like it was cleaned well. There is only free coffee and tea bags in the lobby for a few hours in the morning, which was nothing special. No microwave or fridge in my room. I would not recommend this motel for more than one night.

This property is old and outdated and needs refreshing. No cream for coffee except dry creamer. Staff was friendly and welcoming.
