An enjoyable stay. We were unaware of the $200 cash bond required, but were prepared to pay. Great food and friendly staff. Carparking was very difficult to get and out of at the top especially when the carpark was full.

The room was not convenient for us because I experienced bug bites in my arms during our first night. And it was horrible. I did complain about it and they just transferred me to another room. This worst experience with my boyfriend was so unforgettable because it was our first time together and this is what I've got. We will not come back to this hotel.

This was a surprise. Whilst it looks like its from the 1980s (but well kept) it was quite fresh and modern within the rooms. Free parking onsite. Bed medium firm (yeh!). Free WiFi. Aircon. Large clean and fresh ensuite. No noise from adjacent rooms/hallway. Just up the road from many fast food venues (not walkable). Not walkable to a train station. Venue was quiet. Restaurant onsite. Very good value for money. Would stay again. Love the staff - very professional and friendly, super helpful.

Overall rooms are small with limited storage for clothing and overdue for refurbishment however would definitely stay again. The staff for example Tomisha, Brie, Mary and others are all so hospitable and go out of their way to assist you, the motel is conveniently located and provides good value.

The room was showing its age I was in a room by the entrance door and everytime someone swiped to enter there was a load beep - went all night The TV was dismal... no apps on the tv were working and would not update so pretty much stuck for entertainment. The staff were lovely and courteous :)

I booked to pay total cost of accommodation at property. Shocking to receive email from Sandra threatening to cancel my reservation - email copy attached. The hotel reservation personnel was charging my credit card but failed. Insisted it will be canceled if I don’t provide my credit card to be charged. She told me that pay at property was between Hotel.com and customer, not between Mt Richmond Hotel and Hotels.com. She only knew after receiving the booking confirmation from Hotels.com and it’s not their policy. If there’s any misunderstanding or communication problems between Mt Richmond Hotel and Hotels.com, why is customer threatened or penalized? The room is so very small and bare. Can even put and open a suitcase and no place in bathroom to put toothbrush etc. The wall between is like hollow and we were hearing talking and noises next room in the middle of the night doing their stuff with bed squeaking and heavy breathing. No more stay for me here.

My family and I stayed at The Mount Richmond Hotel for 2 nights as we began our travels around New Zealand just outside of Auckland. Located 25mins from the Airport, it’s a family orientated hotel that offers a relaxing environment. For those without a car, the hotel is only 600m from the nearest bus stop and links directly to the train station; which offers an easy and stress-free trip to the city centre of Auckland.

For those without a car, the hotel is only 600m from the nearest bus stop and links directly to the train station; which offers an easy and stress-free trip to the city centre of Auckland.

We were shocked when we turned up to this place having booked it last minute and unfortunately it was non-refundable. I can see why, we walked straight out, probably others do the same. The lady behind the counter was pleasant enough, that was all I can say positive really. Even just entering the property it is very uninviting. The first thing we saw on arriving at the hotel was the pokies/gaming area right beside the reception! Didn't see anything about that in the listing. Desperate people playing pokies next door with iron bars on the windows between the pokies and reception and multiple secutity cameras watching that area. The outside of the hotel was not looking good, way more rundown than all the ohotos online would show. By the state of some of the cars in the carpark and a couple of the people roaming around I suspect this place is being used for emergncy accom too, I might be wrong. The area in the imediate vicinity of the hotel was a mess with rubbish on the roadside outside multiple properties. It was a reallly rough area, not the hotel's fault but something for travellers to be wary of. I've stayed in dodgy hotels in Central America with arme dguards and I was more nervous about this place. Didn't even see the rooms, we just left and wrote of the full cost of the room that we had paid to Wotif. Probably teach me a lesson for not reading the bad reviews before booking. I found the listing to be quite misleading so be very aware

Not a ideal place to stay for families. Photos on website well over sell hotel. This is currently accomadation for people who are needing emergency accommodation, and has a gaming lounge on site. If we had known this we would not of booked. We felt unsafe and sorted accomadation in cbd.

Plus: Very friendly, helpful staff. Food was delicious. Bed very comfortable with good linen and well serviced. Minus: Property is old and in much need of a good face-lift. "Swimming pool" is misleading - suitable for a dip, rather than a swim.

The staff here are awesome and very well presented. The Restaurant has good food - especially liked the sized of their Garlic Bread... it was soooo good. Personally, i would've preferred bigger, and firmer pillows but I'll just bring my pillow next time. This isnt our first time here. We dont need all the "bling" of fancy places to stay and this place suits our needs every time.

Very central. We had dinner in the restaurant and the waitress was very friendly and helpful service and food was great. The rooms basic but clean. The staff at reception were very helpful and friendly. What really made this experience great was the wonderful staff

The Staff at this Hotel were great and have no issues. But the hotel needs a refurbishment and tidied up. Poolside was untidy, wet towels, rubbish, cleaning equipment lying all around the side. Reception and front doors look spectacular, but the once behind that the property is very tired and worn out. It would not take a lot of money to spruce up the property. Outside the room window had old rags and clothes lying in the long grass. Breakfast was very nice, but pricey. Coffee was a extra cost which was disappointing. Was very disappointed that the pool was off limits to guests as there was a private function. Room was adequate to our needs but could have been so much better. Missing window latches, cupboard door nearly falling off in bathroom, shower grotty as silicone is marked. Not sure if we would stay again.

The room was tidy, staff friendly. The restaurant staff were very helpful. We were late but they offered us food even though they wanted to clos the kitchen.

I wouldn't stay here again. Facility was run down, air con unit was faulty and leaked keeping me up all night. The king size bed is two singles with a king sheet over top, made for a uncomfortable sleep with my partner, overall disappointed. The images provided are a coverup for poorly maintained rooms, the bathroom had visible mold on the roof. Also had a lack of sound proofing, with noisy guests disturbing my sleep. Also keep in mind that you will be hearing loud cars and sirens due to this being in a low income neighborhood. Having pokies right near your hotel felt ridiculous, didn't feel very secure leaving our car in the car park due to unpredictable guests.

The property was advertised falsely. The reason we booked here was because it was advertised to have an on-site restaurant and an on-site bar. This was not the case. There is no longer a restaurant or a bar on-site. Do better owners, tell the truth and don't mislead customers to book here when you don't have the facilities you say you have. Nowhere on their website does it say there is a gambling room operating out of there that there are unsavory people hanging around outside our door begging for cigarettes etc. The heatpump was extremely old and loud so we had to turn the faulty TV up really loud to be able to hear it. The shower leaked all over the floor almost causing me to slip when I stepped out of the shower. The fan didn't work in the bathroom either The spa would have been nice but we never managed to get in as there were always people drinking in it for ages. When we rang for assistance to get the heatpump working the attendant was very attentive. Overall I would not recommend this facility, I would request they remove important things from their website like the fact there is no restaurant or bar Do better !!!
