Really enjoyed it. Staff lovely. Only issue we had was when we had booked to go swimming on Thursday 25th july at 10am. Apparently there was some issues going on with pool. Had been told we'd have to wait about 10mins, then 20 and so on. Myself and my young daughter ended up waiting nearly an hour in total. Only to be told they still weren't letting anyone in. So it sort of ruined our plans for the day. My daughter was really upset, as she got all excited to go swimming in the morning then being told we couldn't go in.

Lovely hotel with friendly staff. My only issues were the swimming pool was really cold, there was a ledge in the pool that wasn’t signposted so I grazed my leg, the shower in the changing room was too hot

Location is good and we had pre booked parking which is next door. The room was ok - spacious. But the sink didn’t empty which wasn’t great. We used the pool which was quite cold and is quite small so hard to swim once you get a couple of people in. Sauna was cold - wasn’t working - which was disappointing

Shambles of a check in - waiting area tiny and busy. Receptionist claimed I hadn’t paid (I had), then claimed the difference in price on her screen was due to currency conversion (I was travelling from Scotland). Keys given did not work. Lifts very temperamental. View from room was a derelict building covered in scaffolding. Breakfast very very busy and a tight layout.

Only in town for one day for a meeting. Novotel was a good option in a great part of town with a multi storey car park next door. Room was fine. Swimming pool was good and as they use a booking system, never overly busy. One major issue was the air conditioning which was rubbish. A very warm night and windows that hardly open meant we were roasting all night which lead to very little sleep. It’s the only disappointing thing but at the end of the day the most important thing in any hotel is a good nights sleep.

Was okay. Room was ready early which was great. Always took multiple attempts with the card to get the lift to work or the door to open. The toilet has no sink so you have to go tobthe shower room to wash your hands. Not very hygienic. The drains really stank in the bath room and got so bad l could'nt. actually use the shower on my last morning. Breakfast was good but most tables weren't cleaned for use

These rooms are so old that there is mold all over the bathrooms. The sinks and shower don’t drain due to obvious hair blockages. The carpet is dirty and grimy. The staff were friendly but the accommodation was truly just gross.

Cramped and dirty. Cracked tiles in the bathroom and toilet. Poor housekeeping - there was no way of drying towels for a family of 4 and when left in the bath for replacements, housekeeping obviously just folded up the wet towels. Not at all what I expect from Novotel!

Stayed many times in this hotel with average experience, but this time around was below average. Room wasnt clean, blood stain on the curtain. Bedsheets and towels couldnt guarantee that they were changed. No take away coffee cups available, although they were always there on previous stays. Check in - waited for a while to be acknowledged, despite being the only guest. Going down the hill, there is so many better hotels in Liverpool.

I like the position of the hotel, it is convenient that I can go every sightseeing places by foot within a reasonable time period around 15-30 mins. I don’t like the cleanliness of the hotel, I feel it is a little bit dirty, I found a lighter under the bedside table, and some dirt around the toilet. I also found that there are some broken parts of toilet facilities. And when the box tissue is run out, the housekeeper does not refill it after tidy up the room in the second day.

Fast check in. Smart looking hotel. Very convenient for all of Liverpool centre. We didn’t use the swimming pool or the restaurant. Our room number was 420. BEWARE. If your room is facing the Q Park carpark, you can look forward to a Home Bargains delivery truck pulling up beneath the hotel from around 0630 every day. Then it’s nothing but crash bang crash. It is so loud and that’s with the window closed too. This was very disappointing and would certainly stop me staying here again

The room was nice and the facilities were great All staff were helpful and polite. Only issue I had was a seal around one of the room windows has failed and as a result was letting in a lot of noise from the street below which interrupted our sleep

It’s in a great location across from Liverpool One, lots of dining options across the street n clearly lots of shopping choices in Liverpool One. The only thing we didn’t like was the view from our window which was facing other windows in an empty old building. Great stay near the Albert Dock. Easy check in and my request for a high floor and quiet room was accommodated. Just a short walk from the train station and Liverpool One. As a lone female traveller I felt safe throughout my stay. The room was spacious, clean and with everything I needed. Beautiful sunrise across the city skyline topped it off!

Nice hotel, great location but the rooms on the upper floors are extremely warm. I would recommend anyone staying here to request a room on a lower floor. We had to change rooms from the 10th floor because our room was so warm

The A/C never worked and the overall property was outdated. When we asked for extra towels, the phone was disconnected and the reception never picked up our calls. We had to go downstairs ask for more towels and after one hr delay they gave us pool towels.

was unfortunately sick and unable to travel. tried to contact hotel to let them know, no answer direct number and central line said to contact direct. So was unable to sort anything prior to arrival. when I finally got in touch with hotel, they said nothing they were willing to do in terms of rescheduling or refunding. won't be using again (not that it'll matter to them, just thought they could do better as a big corporation)

We had a lovely stay at the Novotel and made great use of the swimming pool facilities with our young daughter. We had an issue with the window not closing in our room and the receptionist promptly came to check it and then allocate us a new room when it couldn't be fixed. I would definitely recommend staying here again.

When we arrived there was a substantial queue at the check in desk. We waited approximately 10 minutes. We were advised that our room was not available. The time at this point was 16.30pm. There were other people in our position too. We were going to the theatre so I wanted to change, freshen up etc.. I was given a door key for the public toilets downstairs. Which wasn’t what I had envisaged. We were late getting back and I telephoned the hotel to make sure we could get in as we didn’t have our room key. We collected our key around 11pm that evening. Following morning we dropped our bags, spent a day in Liverpool. Picked our bags up around 5pm to be faced with the same dilemma of a very big queue yet again. We are regular visitors to Liverpool and have never experienced our room not being ready. I know Liverpool is a very busy city, other hotels we’ve stayed at don’t seem to suffer in this way.

The first thing that put me off this hotel was the rude staff member at reception: not a word of thanks or please from her. Although other staff were better, her conduct put me off this hotel, together with loud screaming children at the restaurant adjacent to the reception area (which is open plan). The restaurant looks dark and dingy, almost dungeon-like and the terrible reviews put me off attempting to eat there. As for the swimming pool, they do not stipulate when you choose this hotel that they limit you to 30 minutes, which is absolutely ridiculous and sort of undignified given the amount of money you pay to stay at this hotel. Therefore, I didn’t bother going. The reviews suggested it’s too cold in the water, which put me off. As for the rooms, mine stank of rotisserie chicken (air vents?) and the room was very noisy from the sounds of cars speeding past. The area outside, near the train station, felt like there were pickpockets waiting to snatch your phone so it felt uncomfortable, although that’s not the hotel’s fault. I wish I had chosen the Hilton (similar price and amazing location) or somewhere else. Bizarrely, the bathroom is separate from the toilet, and the door to the bathroom is a thin see-through one therefore I don’t know how two platonic people can share it (like friends or colleagues travelling together). All in all, a weird and icky experience with one receptionist who relishes being rude.

Stayed one night at Novotel Liverpool with my wife and three kids. Minibar completely empty, not even basic drinking water provided. Called room service in the early hours asking for water and was told: “It’ll cost £5 to bring it up, or you can come down and get it yourself from the bar.” Absolutely disgraceful customer service. For a so-called 4-star hotel, this is unacceptable. Avoid at all costs

Best thing was the room. Clean, comfortable and quiet. Worst thing was the restaurant - like trying to eat in a disco! Food not that good either and portions definitely not generous. Yes I’d come again but there’s loads more places to eat in a short walk.
