The building was unique and a blast from the past. I can only imagine what really took place back in the day from 1763 at the Inn. The rooms were each unique in their own way we stayed in #25. Plenty of room, nice lay out, and loved the shower. There are 2 on-site restaurants, outside seating area, 2 full-service bars. There was entertainment Happy hour from 4pm to 6pm. The ladies at the restaurant check in area were sweet and helped us up to our room as we arrived on the later side. The breakfast set up in the morning was awesome, yogurt in a cup with fruit and granola, fruit, applesauce, bread, coffee, juice and snack bars. Would recommend this experience and would like to return. Thank you Jeff and Jane Miller

Very nice quiet Hotel. Has a great bar, small batch brewery and restaurant in the basement level. Upstairs on the main floor, is the finer dining restaurant, which we didn't utilize. Rooms are very plush, well appointed and comfortable. Great staff.

My husband and I stayed overnight here for our anniversary and had dinner in the restaurant. The food was delicious. The staff was lovely. Checking in was just a little odd because there isn't really a "front desk" they just grabbed someone to get our key from the stand behind the hostess stand at the restaurant. We didn't utilize the breakfast option, but the muffins and coffee/yogurt looked good. We went across the street to a little coffee shop. The room was very nice. It was beautifully appointed, comfortable, and pretty luxurious for the price.

1 night stay. Friendly staff, clean, organized, quality linens/towels/pillows, hot water, a/c, heat, microwave, fridge, hair dryer, nice dining room/bars (live music) and all the nice features of an old Inn. It looked and felt upscale. I had committed to eat with friends at another restaurant. But wanted to eat there. The food looked well prepared. Engaged in conversations with a few other people that were staying elsewhere, but came there repeatedly to eat. The only potential issue could have been parking. Being a Friday night, it was almost full.

First off, this is a very old building which I knew when we booked it, and I was willing to forgive some quirks knowing that. The room we had was very nice upon initial inspection, but you could tell it was a little tired in a few ways: it had the stale smell of old cigarettes probably from long ago, the plumbing was dated (though it had a large jet tub) but that's to be expected in a historic hotel. My main problems were 1) it would not stay cool despite the AC unit; 2) the road noise was pretty loud and started at 6:30 AM because it's right off a major roundabout that big rigs use; 3) the bed was saggy. 1 & 3 made it pretty difficult to sleep comfortably throughout our stay, 2 I got used to after the 2nd night. I think the room would've been better to stay in a cooler time of year. It came with a working gas fireplace and that would've been nice to use if it were colder. Still wouldn't have helped with the bed though. We missed most of the free breakfast offerings since we were jet lagged from the west coast, but a couple days we were able to grab the full-sized muffins and granola snacks they offered. The staff was really hard to find to check in and check out, the bar downstairs had the wrong hours posted so we visited them right after closing. We didn't use the restaurant, but it seemed pretty popular. Never had any issue with parking. We stayed there as an option to visit nearby family, and we'll probably return in the future. Great find not too far outside of Gettysburg. Room was beautifully decorated and clean, with the regular amenities-shampoo, conditioner, soap. Two bottles of water were provided daily as well. It was very warm outside, but the air conditioning and humidity in the room was very comfortable. Shower water pressure was great, but hot/cold fluctuated. Not a big deal because you could anticipate it coming. The food in the tavern and restaurant was delicious and reasonably priced. House chips w/balsamic glaze was a nice touch. Chicken & waffles were good comfort food, and the flatbreads were very good. The in house beers were delicious and full of flavor! My only complaint was the mattress was very uncomfortable and sagged in the middle, which was tough when you are used to a firm mattress.

We had a very spacious room on the third floor which included a living room area. The room was clean and well-maintained. Staff was friendly and helpful. Very affordable. Just a note - building has several levels with rather steep stairs, so that may pose a challenge for some.

A hidden gem. Unexpectedly Room #30 was remarkable. Breakfast could be improved. Hot water was slow. But the room was so spacious and comfortable that they got 5 stars. Dinner at the inn was great. We checked in after dinner there because staff suggested it would be less tiring for us after a long drive. No additional perks for Expedia VIPs.

We checked in to a completely empty hotel. There was a note with my name telling us to go to a room. This is very unsafe! I called the night manager’s number on the note and received no answer. The room is ridiculously hot. The restaurant is closed. There are no amenities. This is the absolutely worst hotel ever!

Parking was great. Check-in was confusing because there is no designated lobby for the hotel. There was no sign to indicate where to check-in for the hotel so we went to the hostess podium for the restaurant to ask how to check-in. The hostess checked us in there at the podium, gave us our key (literally a key, not a card) and walked us to our room. Although we had a room facing the square, it was not noisy. We could not get the transom window closed above the door. We only stayed one night so we did not use the tub or separate shower. No formal check-out, I just gave the key to the one of the cleaners the next morning. All in all, staff was very pleasant and would not mind staying again.

This was a unique little place. The staff was incredibly nice and the restaurants on property were great. I was very happily surprised with the entire experience.

The check in was great- escorted to room by manager and was able to check in early. The rooms are early American and traditional-room was a little dated but clean and comfortable- quiet at night. The check in process was very easy. The room was large and included a small sitting area and a table. I was only able to stay one night but enjoyed the stay. I was there on a night that there was also an auto race taking place. It was a little loud and they also had fireworks. Otherwise it was surprisingly quiet for being in the center of town. It also seemed very safe. I didn't feel uncomfortable inside or outside the hotel at night.

Parking was great. Check-in was confusing because there is no designated lobby for the hotel. There was no sign to indicate where to check-in for the hotel so we went to the hostess podium for the restaurant to ask how to check-in. The hostess checked us in there at the podium, gave us our key (literally a key, not a card) and walked us to our room. Although we had a room facing the square, it was not noisy. We could not get the transom window closed above the door. We only stayed one night so we did not use the tub or separate shower. No formal check-out, I just gave the key to the one of the cleaners the next morning. All in all, staff was very pleasant and would not mind staying again.

Great find not too far outside of Gettysburg. Room was beautifully decorated and clean, with the regular amenities-shampoo, conditioner, soap. Two bottles of water were provided daily as well. It was very warm outside, but the air conditioning and humidity in the room was very comfortable. Shower water pressure was great, but hot/cold fluctuated. Not a big deal because you could anticipate it coming. The food in the tavern and restaurant was delicious and reasonably priced. House chips w/balsamic glaze was a nice touch. Chicken & waffles were good comfort food, and the flatbreads were very good. The in house beers were delicious and full of flavor! My only complaint was the mattress was very uncomfortable and sagged in the middle, which was tough when you are used to a firm mattress.

For an old building right on a main road with a restaurant and bar, it was very quiet and cozy. A place like this just has a charm that a modern hotel cannot replicate. Great stay, we will be back.

This is a nice little place with much more character and charm than a "big box" hotel. They upgraded us to a larger room because of an issue with a door lock, and it was even nicer than expected. If you are going to Gettysburg, PA, skip fighting tourists in the hotels in town, and stay at Altland House.

A unique find for a reasonable price! This cozy inn has a nice restaurant on the ground floor and is near Gettysburg and other historical sites. Staff members were amazingly attentive and helpful. We will be back!

We checked in to a completely empty hotel. There was a note with my name telling us to go to a room. This is very unsafe! I called the night manager’s number on the note and received no answer. The room is ridiculously hot. The restaurant is closed. There are no amenities. This is the absolutely worst hotel ever!

The building was unique and a blast from the past. I can only imagine what really took place back in the day from 1763 at the Inn. The rooms were each unique in their own way we stayed in #25. Plenty of room, nice lay out, and loved the shower. There are 2 on-site restaurants, outside seating area, 2 full-service bars. There was entertainment Happy hour from 4pm to 6pm. The ladies at the restaurant check in area were sweet and helped us up to our room as we arrived on the later side. The breakfast set up in the morning was awesome, yogurt in a cup with fruit and granola, fruit, applesauce, bread, coffee, juice and snack bars. Would recommend this experience and would like to return. Thank you Jeff and Jane Miller

My husband and I stayed overnight here for our anniversary and had dinner in the restaurant. The food was delicious. The staff was lovely. Checking in was just a little odd because there isn't really a "front desk" they just grabbed someone to get our key from the stand behind the hostess stand at the restaurant. We didn't utilize the breakfast option, but the muffins and coffee/yogurt looked good. We went across the street to a little coffee shop. The room was very nice. It was beautifully appointed, comfortable, and pretty luxurious for the price.
