While we were not expecting the Ritz I had no idea Hotel Blu was a Motel 6 as there was no indication on my reservation or on the hotel. There was no human upon check in just a virtual kiosk. Thankfully nice live person cked us in. I am ok w an outdated room for this price but would like it to be clean. Lots of dead bugs, smoke alarm covered in plastic, walls with things smeared in them and just layers of grime. 1 hour of a good clean would have made a world of difference. Yes I know its cleap, just be clean and tell me when there is a name change. Very confusing when arriving in dark.

It all was terrible from check in to check out. No real person to talk to for anything.

The kiosk at the front door took longer than it normally takes to check in. I stay at a hotel across the street from there and I don’t have to pay a security deposit but yet this cheaper hotel I have to pay $100 that they hold onto for days. The property smells like curry powder because of who owns it and runs it. The bed is hard and flat, the pillows are awful awful, and there’s a mustiness in the room. I will not be back to this hotel.

This is really a Motel 6. Apparently they are transitioning to Hotel Blu, but the big sign out front is still Motel 6. I have never been very impressed with Motel 6 and I wouldn’t have booked this if they were honest about the name. The “friendly kiosk” is ridiculous. It is a monitor with someone sitting in an office somewhere on the planet trying to help guests. There are real live humans staffing the hotel, and sometimes even behind the desk, but their grasp of the English language is tenuous, so communication can be an issue. The rooms need work as well. There was a crack on the door of the microwave, and a bunch of holes on the door where the safety lock had been removed. The air condition did not get the room as vool as I would have liked, but good enough. The room had been designed to hold 2 queen beds, but one had been removed. In is place was a goofy looking black leather sofa (really more of a bench) that had been ripped and repaired with black electrical tape. I will say the bed was fairly comfortable, and the sink area appeared to have been updated recently
