conveniently near black water falls state park, which is an awesome place to visit. The Inn has a clean and tidy guest service area. Our cabin room was on the second floor (no elevator), clean interior with a full kitchen, 2BR/1bath. Kitchen is equipped with necessities, just add food. Beds were comfortable. con: there is one very small mirror located in the one bathroom that is quite small as well. Isn’t an issue for males but most females like to check their appearance, apply makeup, set hair. Incredibly difficult to do with a super small, round mirror in a bathroom other ppl need to use. It would be beneficial to have at least one full length mirror available for those females who care to check their appearance. also cons: Putt putt costs extra, not included with stay. when we visited (september) the sparsely available eateries were closed. a lot of the eateries in Davis were closed as well. we went to the very small grocery/gas across from the Inn, nothing to cook just few frozen meals. There is a subway inside the station, we purchased sandwiches and called it a night. The on the go options for breakfast were decent: bagels, muffins, cereal, coffee, tea, oj, hot chocolate. staff was present, not super friendly, just available. we had a restful, one night stay.

It is a beautifully renovated place with nice updates. Ute mini golf and small part area available. Only fault- no ice machine. It was broken, but room had a fridge. Breakfast is sparse but ok.

One coin operated washer and dryer serving visitors and all the rooms' linens and towels.

The room was clean, and the beds were comfortable. The staff was friendly, with a good sense of humor. Family friendly, with a great Putt Putt golf area.

All tile floors, so the floors were clean. The ice machines were not working and only a few packaged pastries and coffee for breakfast.

This place was located in a nice and quiet area. Had a nice fire pit behind the hotel and putt putt course right out front our door. Other than our noisy neighbors, we had an amazing time staying here.

Clean room. Comdortable bed. Mediocre service at best. Plenty of parking. Generally quiet other than some noise in hallway rooms too close to reception and from rools above on 2nd floor.

Need to update ice maker. Too small to service guests. Room was very nice!! Would stay here again. Breakfast was very minimal for the cost of a nightly stay. Need to upgrade. There was NO hot food...barely a continental breakfast. It seems air conditioning is being installed. That will be a tremendous plus!!! Very warm and humid during our stay. Thank goodness for fans!!

This was the absolutely the cleanest Inn I’ve ever been in. The staff was very friendly and helpful, polite and respectful. I would stay here again.

The hotel looks new but it wasn't very clean. We found someone's things on the floor in the shower. It's pretty gross because this means the bathroom wasn't even cleaned after the previous guests.

The inn was nice enough and the staff were friendly HJ in particular was lovely and helpful. HOWEVER, our room was not cleaned properly, there was a clump of hair in our shower floor, used coffee packets in the coffee maker and the floor felt tacky when walking on it. Additionally they said that breakfast would be available from 6:30-9:30 ( though the sign said 6-10) and we didn’t even have fresh coffee available or bagels until 7 or one day even later than that.

Check in at 4pm went to the room the bathroom not cleaned and someone used the toilet without flushing it! Floors are dirty and table has dust on it! The picture on the internet is not the same when you get there! I ask them if they can clean the toilet because they said there’s no available room. Front desk says no one is duty to clean it! This is around 4:30pm! Morning staff are very rude too!!

Friendly service. Entire place was spotless inside and out, except our shower which had a razor head cap and hair on the drain which is an easy oversight. Bed was very comfortable with soft and firm pillows. Outside has a little putt putt golf area. Definitely recommend!

The hotel seems to have been recently renovated, or built, inside and out. It was very clean and the staff were great. We stayed two days while checking out some local trails and shops and had a wonderful experience

Clearly the bathroom had not been cleaned as evidenced by the prior occupants blue ring marks Also charging $15 per person for putt putt golf was a bit excessive Plus the attendant was not helpful with places to eat or sights to ser

Comfortable beds, clean, spacious room.

The room was nice and comfortable and staff friendly People up above us were very noisy stomping and running across the room until after midnight keeping us awake due to the wood floors

The only issue I had was we were on the bottom floor and we could hear EVERYTHING from the room above us! Very frustrating to say the least..they definitely need to address that

This is a nice newly remodeled inn in the heart of Canaan Valley. The room was spacious with a microwave, refrigerator and desk/chair. The sink/vanity area is conveniently separated from the bathroom (shower/toilet). The desk staff was welcoming and helpful. The continental breakfast is grab and go, meaning limited options. You will most likely end up also eating breakfast out as I did. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is due to the noise level. The rooms and hallways are not carpeted. And while it is nice new vinyl flooring, it makes for loud footsteps both in the hallway and in the rooms above. I could hear every step taken by the guests in the room above me. I was there during the off season and I can imagine the noise level would be even higher when the rooms are full with families. The front desk staff did tell me that they are still working on sound proofing and if that happens, I would easily give 5 stars. I do highly recommend this Inn if you're looking for a simple, clean and reasonably priced place to stay with updated accommodations. A plus is the miniature golf course on site, convenience store with gasoline across the street, and an extra sense of safety with a fire department across the street as well.

The room was not as soundproof as I've experienced in other hotels; hence, i heard the young people around me into the late evening. I also thought the water pressure in the shower was pitiful.

Property was clean and convenient. It’s a remote area with few options to stay. The one thing I didn’t like was the structure didn’t allow for quiet. You heard every door close and every time someone went down the hall.

The rooms have ZERO insulation in the walls and i was awake until 2am Sunday morning because the people next door had many loud conversations and arguments

Great stay. So clean and quiet. Staff were awesome

The scenery was beautiful, but the young man that helped us when we checked in was very unwelcoming and rude. We changed a 2 day stay to a 1 day stay, because we felt so unwelcomed. The young lady that checked us out on the day we were leaving was super sweet. We are a Mexican American family and were told to expect this treatment, but really didn't expect for it to actually happen.

The place was excellent. The front desk staff couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful. Room was very clean, and the bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept on.

Upon arrival the manager informed me the room I had booked did not allow pets…which I understand. I told her there was no specifications on Expedia as to which rooms did allow pets. She was extremely rude and I wasn’t even mad about having to switch to a basic room. The place is kind of boring and basic. It was really clean. Will never go back because the manager was so rude for absolutely no reason. Many more places to stay in the area with much better service.

I have mixed reviews about this location… Check in with a joke. The guy with the beard tells me my card is decline. Not possible!! After I asked him to run again, he told me it was just going to decline. He couldn’t be bothered to review his info after asked him if my information was correct. So I had to call my credit card company & once I got to customer service I put it on speaker. No charge had been declined so the issue was on his end. He had my ZIP Code wrong & could’ve just reviewed my information prior. It could’ve been resolved so much easier. The attitude I got from him when he thought my card was bad was unacceptable! He was training another young man who looked petrified, and when my husband later on went to ask a simple question, the young guy did not even respond or acknowledge him. He may be new, but you have to learn how to work w customers. I guess the guy with the beard was showing off early on, but he only looked like a fool when he was the one at fault. He is the one that needs the training on how to treat customers. Check out was much easier. The room is clean & I had asked if we could have a first floor room as I realized there were NO elevators. They put us in the main building, the rooms are very basic w no frills. Very small bathroom & being in the main building you hear everybody talking & walking around as there’s no barrier at the end of the hall. The back door access has issues getting it to open. Breakfast offered is basically bread type items.

When we checked in they placed in a room directly by the front desk. About five minutes later I asked if we could get placed in another location within the hotel because the previous night we had stayed by a front desk and it was noisy. Chelsea found us a two bedroom suite and let us pay the difference and we had the most spacious and peaceful space for the night. Thank you Chelsea!

The Inn of Canaan is close to Blackwater falls area. It appears to be a new inn. Breakfast is a grab and go. Mini golf on property. A nice BBQ restaurant near by. Very nice location.

Great hotel, friendly staff clean, amazing location, a few miles from main street, about 1 miles from canaan activities, 10 miles from blackwater falls state park. Highly recommended if you look for a great stay.

So this is a budget hotel with more of a motel vibe. That's fine so long as you are expecting it. The property consists of two buildings - one a motel and one more of a hotel coming off a small lobby. There is no elevator to the second floor, but first floor rooms are available if you request them ahead of time. There is no overnight front desk clerk, so keep that in mind if you check in late. The lobby / breakfast area are very small so you may need to take your breakfast back to your room. The wall sign and the front desk clerk both say that breakfast starts at 6AM, but it actually starts when the desk clerk gets around to it. Her shift starts at 7 so breakfast is actually more like 7:15. Breakfast is poptarts, Lenders bagels, fruit loops, and packaged pastries. With milk, juice, and coffee. The actual rooms are pretty nice. The rooms are spacious and clean with a small desk. The mini-fridge is larger than many. The sink is outside the lavatory area. The closet is large for a hotel. Mattresses are typical. Generally, this would have been a good review considering this is a budget motel in an isolated area. BUT, and this is a big BUT. The hot water tank was broken for three of the four nights we were there. We had to take COLD showers for three nights. We were not offered a discount nor offered the opportunity to move to a room in the other building that presumably had hot water. We also were not warned ahead of our stay that there would be no hot water.

Room was exceptionally clean. Could be noisy until after midnight. However, breakfast could have been better. There were few choices and the worst part, there was no where to sit to eat breakfast.

This comfortable small hotel offered a continental breakfast as well as hot soup for dinner. The soup was unexpected and very much appreciated. The staff was informative and helpful.

Breakfast was a bonus

There wasnt a decent breakfast at all, it was all cold stuff. There wasnt any tea bags for hot tea. Front desk said they didn't have any. Itvwas terrible. Had to get breakfast at a local restaurant.

Staff was EXTREMELY pleasant and welcoming. The lobby was festively decorated for Easter. We were assigned a room right off of the lobby (Room 101); literally 15 feet from check in/out desk. It was VERY clean and modern (tile floors; new furniture; bathroom looked relatively new). The bed was comfortable. It took us a while to adjust the temperature to our liking. Due to the room location, we were awaken by people rolling their suitcases down the tiled hall and by our door and chatting with staff at the desk. NOT an ideal room location. Morning complimentary breakfast was somewhat lacking. I retrieved a breakfast eggo from their refrigerator to toast up, but noticed mold on it when I unwrapped it. For the area we were in, this place was more than acceptable....they just have some opportunities.

For whatever reason, the walls are thin or rather permit noises to be heard from the room. Other than that, the property is spotless and the staff great! I would highly recommend for a nice affordable stay in Davis. Breakfast offering was abundant and sweet. Good bagels, coffee excellent, and the first day- there was legit biscuits and gravy ( in a crockpot).
