Nice hotel with a pool and workout room

I came for the pool . It was down! Very disappointed.

If you are looking for a quiet property 7 min away from fun/downtown, this is it! This hotel is also in walking distance to some restaurants and a gas station. If you want to be able to walk outside and be in the heart of activity, then you will want to stay in a hotel that is located on College Avenue or Beaver Street-or close to one of those streets. Overall, the staff was extremely friendly and patient with us, as we were there for a wedding and sometimes congregated late into the evening in the lobby. If our room was messy or dirty, it was our own doing. We chose not to have someone clean our room every day, but when we arrived, our room to looked great! Anytime we needed anything we could call down to the front desk or go down to the front desk and everything was at our fingertips. as for the weight room, it is so if you plan on working out, you might want to find a good trail to hike on instead, and the pool is on the small side; no food or drink allowed, which I do understand. Thank you so much for a great stay. * The continental breakfast and coffee machine was definitely a bonus!

The things we liked were the hot water, plenty of hangers in the closet, breakfast was always delicious, clean, and everything looked as it did in the pictures. The things we disliked were the bugs in the pool, one elevator for a small hotel, had no side entrances, the only gas station/food place nearby was a Sheetz, thin walls, hard af beds (sleeper sofa was more comfortable), no fan in bathroom, and you'll have to be a contortionist to get some toilet paper because the toilet paper is located on the wall BEHIND the toilet. 🙄

Check in was easy. The girl was super nice and helpful. The hotel was clean. The room was clean and comfortable. Pool open till 11P, gym open 24 hrs. Free breakfast. No complaints!

Workout-equipment ( except for treadmill) had no cords to plug in. TV would turn on but no signal. This should be an automatic ask everyday for the maintenance team and shouldn't be left to the guest to try and get working. besides that the place was great.

I really liked there was easy access to outside seating area i could drink my coffee and relax.

Clean, spacious rooms and a friendly, efficient staff. Wasn't able to try breakfast, but it looked substantial. Exercise room could be better outfitted with at least some free weights.

Room was nice, we stayed in a suite, which is not what you picture as a suite, two queen beds and in the same room, a pullout sofa. It was okay for our needs, but the pull out wasn’t very comfortable. Morning breakfast was okay as well. The yogurt machine didn’t work while we were there and numerous customers wanted it. The coffee/hot chocolate machine worked one day of our stay, didn’t work the other day and nothing was put out to substitute. The kids really wanted hot chocolate for their nighttime ritual. The pool was nice, clean and towels were consistently restocked. The kids loved it. Could use a clock in that room or one in the gym that works. You could see the one in the gym, but did was off by hours so no help.

The pillows were perfect. I do not write this in a superficial tone. We had a stay in another hotel chain recently that was a disaster for our entire party. Lack of cleanliness can quickly and decisively ruin a trip. Thank you, Best Western

Clean property in brand-new like condition in quiet area of State College. Complimentary breakfast is nothing to write home about, but otherwise no complaints here.

Honestly it was just not very clean at all the bed was made with clean sheets but besides that it didn’t even look like it was wiped down nor vacuumed we were in town for a college graduation. If I had more time I would’ve made him more of a flush. I really wish I could have because I was there with small children so instead of sleeping on the pullout, we all ended up sleeping in the king-size bed because it was just too uncomfortable to countertop with sticky. It honestly just looked like someone came in and changed the sheets. They were stains on the furniture.

The floor was sticky and underneath the bathroom sink on the wall was dirty

If you’re on the first floor you can hear footsteps on top of your room. Staff are nice. Thank you.

Found price was much cheaper at hotels site than on hotels.com. Bed was not very comfortable. People at front desk were awesome.

rooms and bathroom was large, everything was clean. staff was very nice, friendly and helpful.

Bedding seemed worn and shower curtain as well. It was okay overall.

The hotel and staff are great but the beds are too soft, we all woke up with stiff or sore backs.

Clean and Friendly staff. I have problem in my room. I can hear the guest above me walking around in the room. I ask to change room and they did change my room the next Morning. Really happy on that I can sleep better. Staff is very Helpful and Understanding. Thank you

The added touch of the manager letting me borrow a phone charger for a few hours on Sunday morning was symbolic of the whole stay. Friendly, helpful, and guest centric! Thank you!

Unfriendly. I am 76 years old. I had a cart loaded with luggage. The young woman at the front desk gave me the second to last room on the floor. It was a long and difficult hike. When I asked her if there was a room near the elevator, she switched me to one right next to the elevator. So I had to schlepp back with all the luggage. Why did I have to ask about that? It was insensitive and I felt she just looked at me, saw an old lady and decided it didn't matter what room she gave me. Well, it did matter. Then there was nothing in the room about how to connect to the Internet. I had to ask about that. And there were no listings of restaurants nearby, no menus. I had to ask for those at the front desk. There was no card with information about the hours for the pool and the fitness room. They ran out of tea and didn't completely restock, only put out two tea bags. No juice at breakfast. It would have been a good thing if there was someone to help me with the luggage cart. Why isn't there a handyman who can double as a porter? The Internet was terrible. And I couldn't keep phone conversations going. All of my phone calls got dropped at one point or another. One was an important business call. That's unacceptable. Also, no one told me there were tables and chairs outside by the side of the hotel. I would have preferred to eat my dinner there rather than in my room. Staying there was so unfriendly, unwelcoming and difficult that I cancelled my planned stay for this Sunday.

The front desk staff at this hotel went far above and beyond to make my stay comfortable. I was going to be working from my hotel room for 3 days, and had some problems with my desk chair being so low to the ground that my keyboard was up at my chest (like a little kid at a dining table). They brought me a chair from their break room that was higher and more comfortable, and then on my checkout day they accommodated me with a later checkout time so that I could attend a meeting from my room instead of the lobby. Everyone I encountered here was more than kind and welcoming! I would definitely stay here again!

Nice clean hotel with friendly staff, near Penn State.

Hotel is close to PSU stadium and a shuttle is available. The hotel is clean and in a quiet location.

This was very convenient to Penn State where we were visiting on college tours.

Nothing but praise for this property. The location is conveniently close to amenties but set back off the main road with lovely nature surroundings. The bed (king suite) was super comfortable and a good night's sleep. Didn't use the pool or gym but it was easily accessible. Breakfast was expansive and full. The staff was helpful and attentive. Suggest you bring a solid pillow as the ones on hand are mushy and unremarkable. Other than that, a very satisfying stay.

Hotel staff only “tidies up” by request for the following day. Breakfast options are disappointing and they run out of most things and then don’t have them back in stock for a couple of days. Guests are EXTREMELY LOUD and it sounds like there are elephants racing over your head at all times…even with designated quiet hours. Pillows are as thick as a sheet of paper and so are the blankets on the bed. I wouldn’t stay here again.

Everything but the breakfast was great!

We arrived after moving in our daughter at Penn State. Front desk was helpful and kind! Had a great night and yummy breakfast!
