Charming and elegant off the noisy tourist track area. Rooms were large and well appointed. Front desk staff was super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was abundant and delicious and the staff there helpful as well. Water taxi drop right outside. Walkable to 'touristy' areas/shopping but away from the hustle in the evenings. Found nice restaurants tucked away in the side streets. The hotel bar looked fun but I didn't partake. You may have to walk a ways and up steps to get to your room but worth it. Highly recommend.

Unmatched service. This is a rare gem and feels like a little oasis when visiting Venice. I will say- we visited during the transition days of not having the AC on so our first night was warmer than we are normally used too- but was still fine. The hotel’s listing on Expedia was listed as having A/C but apparently that is seasonal. The staff did what they could to help (fan). We stayed at many hotels on our tour through Italy and the professionalism and service at this hotel were fantastic. Also, best breakfast options during our entire stay in Italy. I like to sleep between 65-70° Fahrenheit so AC is high priority when I book. I would verify that when you arrive - the AC will be on.

A historic property with beautiful gardens, spacious well appointed rooms, and canal access right by the Accademia bridge. Lovely breakfasts on the patio. Staff was very helpful. A quiet little oasis in the heart of Venice.

Beautiful hotel in a quiet area but very close to The Grand Canal. Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely garden to enjoy a glass of wine. 20 minute walk to St. Marks. The only negative about this hotel is the lack of an elevator.

Room large, comfortable and quiet. Staff always friendly and helpful. An excellent breakfast was served. There are lots of restaurants, pastry shops and cichetti bars nearby. There is no lift in the hotel but staff can carry your luggage. A water taxi from the airport is handy and it stops directly in front of hotel.

The hotel was an ideal location for water taxi’s pick up and drop offs. It was a nice hotel. Only issues we had was that the central air wasn’t working well and we had to keep telling the front desk to fix the issue. The other thing was that the hotel runs on low electric so you can’t bring your own blow dryer or clothing steamer because you will trip the circuit breaker. Also, they won’t bring an iron to your room, you have to go to the laundry area and iron it from there. I was supposed to have the VIP 20% off food and that wasn’t applied.

This is a beautiful property with wonderful staff. We had a room overlooking a small canal and about 100 feet from the grand Canal. Air conditioning does not start until June. This means you need to open the windows and they can be noisy. The noise depends on who happens to be boating by the window. Most of the time there was not a lot of noise it was somewhat random. The courtyards two of them were nice. Needless to say Google maps is a must to get around Venice. We would definitely stay at this hotel, if we come back to Venice. Breakfast was wonderful. The staff was wonderful. From the airport, we took a taxi and then walked to the hotel took a while to get used to the streets. To get to the train station the front desk called us a water taxi. This was convenient but expensive. There were many really nice restaurants, nearby reasonably priced and a lot of options. One night we had a bottle of wine and sat on the front patio and enjoyed the view and each other.

The old palace offers many places to sit inside and outside. You're not simply confined to your room and a busy lobby. I wanted something with an old Venetian feeling and this certainly provided that. I loved the view of a minor canal from our window that led to the Grand Canal. Just so readers know, the Grand Canal is noisy. The pensione was calm. Amazingly, they had two garden, front and back and all landscaping was carefully tended. The breakfasts on the terrace were gracious and all staff were extremely cordial, Amazing feeling of being off the beaten path while actually being centrally located. You feel brought back to the times when the Russian Aristocracy stayed here.

The hotel is in a great location - very close to the Accademia vaporetto stop so easy to get around all areas of Venice. The junior suite had one small window with a view of the garden and was quite dated. Comfortable, quiet and very clean but somewhat dated. The outdoor spaces are lovely and the staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was appreciated and offered a range of options. There is a coffee machine but the waiter will make you a proper Cappuccino if you ask. The person who made up our room did an excellent job every day. I would stay here again.

The staff weren’t rude but they weren’t friendly. Some staff were nice like the gentleman at the buffet who greeted us in the morning and asked how we enjoyed our food. We stayed for three nights and there were several times where we’d enter the hotel and the guy at the front desk would say nothing. Our shower wasn’t draining properly and we asked them to fix it. They didn’t so we recorded a video to show them and on our last night they fixed it with a meager, “sorry”. On the bright side, the room is clean, location is great, and the buffet was lovely. We also left two things in the hotel and when we returned, they kindly went to our room to retrieve the items.

Convenient location, close to major attractions like St Mark’s Square. Also conveniently located to the Vaporetto stop (Accademia Bridge) that travels up and down the main canal. Another plus was that if you take a shared water taxi from the airport, it will drop you off right at the hotel. Staff were very helpful and hotel/room was clean. Complementary breakfast had good selection of food. Would definitely recommend the hotel.

My fiancé and I enjoyed our two night stay at the Pensione Accademia. The view from our room facing the Grand Canal was to die for. Our room was meticulously clean. The staff were some of the friendliest I’ve encountered in my travels, especially Ricardo, who helped us print tickets to a soccer match. The surrounding area is quaint with a local flair. We will be back.

The garden with its partial view on the Canal Grande offers relaxing moments away from the crowds. My room was very quiet and comfortable, it was equipped with a nice polished wooden floor and other details of high quality.

We loved this! The views were beautiful from our room. The garden was gorgeous from our room with a view of the canal. We were just getting sleep after our flight so the price was right. Our room was very basic, but the bathroom was new and pretty for the space. It would be so easy to uptick the room to be lovely. Staff was friendly and lobby is very Venetian looking. Superb location for the Accademia, Guggenheim, and Ca’ Rezzoncio. Great bakery for a Cornetto the Italian version of croissants at Pasticceria Toletta.

A quaint hotel on a quiet end of street. The rooms and the outside areas were very clean and nice. The breakfast was good. Only negatives are there are no elevators and the beds were not very comfortable. Would definitely stay again.

The only negative about our stay, was it was only one night! The room was spacious and comfortable, with a beautiful bathroom and a view of the canal out front. Breakfast was excellent, and had something for everyone. The patio out front, and the garden out back were gorgeous! The dock out front meant we could conveniently catch our boat taxi literally outside the front door. Location was quiet, but near sites, restaurants and bars, and gelato! A 15 minute walk took us to St. Mark’s square. But the best thing? The staff! They saw us rolling our suitcases across the front courtyard, and ran outside to take them from us! We were way ahead of check-in time, and the staff were kind enough to store our bags. When we returned from our day, our bags were already in our room. After a long day of travel from the US, it was so nice to be so well taken care of!

The service is superb, the location is good, and the setting is beautiful. It is close to two vaporetto stops, one of which is on the water taxi route to the airport. It is walkable to the Accademia and the Accademia Bridge over the Grand Canal. The staff is super helpful. They helped carry my bags up and down from my room, provided silverware when I needed it for my takeout dinner, gave my a tray every morning so I could eat breakfast in my room, and answered all my questions. I really liked them. My only issues were that the bed was very firm (though that is typical in Europe) and the shower very small (I could barely turn around and I'm an average size person).

The Accademia/Maravege is a delightful family-run historic Pensione that has been cosily modernised in a good convenient location in the Dorsoduro area near the Accademia Bridge vaporetto stop on the Grand Canal - with many excellent local restaurants! The staff are very attentive and welcoming. The rooms are comfortable and well-furnished, and the breakfast selection is good and tasty. It also has a lovely front patio and rare courtyard garden. Highly recommended.

The location of the Pensione Accademia cannot be faulted, being close to the Accademia Gallery and vaparreto stop. It’s also within walking distance of several Venetian attractions. This was my third stay here. The service seemed less friendly than on previous visits. Reception staff were invariably grumpy. On the plus side they did arrange a breakfast basket for my early morning departure.

We really enjoyed this place! The decor is very attractive and there are beautiful outdoor areas to enjoy. Great staff and convenient location. There was a very nice breakfast buffet, although I would skip their lunch menu. Lots of nice dining options nearby. The rooms were comfortable and toiletries are provided. No elevator, so you need to be good with stairs

The only negative about our stay, was it was only one night! The room was spacious and comfortable, with a beautiful bathroom and a view of the canal out front. Breakfast was excellent, and had something for everyone. The patio out front, and the garden out back were gorgeous! The dock out front meant we could conveniently catch our boat taxi literally outside the front door. Location was quiet, but near sites, restaurants and bars, and gelato! A 15 minute walk took us to St. Mark’s square. But the best thing? The staff! They saw us rolling our suitcases across the front courtyard, and ran outside to take them from us! We were way ahead of check-in time, and the staff were kind enough to store our bags. When we returned from our day, our bags were already in our room. After a long day of travel from the US, it was so nice to be so well taken care of!

The staff weren’t rude but they weren’t friendly. Some staff were nice like the gentleman at the buffet who greeted us in the morning and asked how we enjoyed our food. We stayed for three nights and there were several times where we’d enter the hotel and the guy at the front desk would say nothing. Our shower wasn’t draining properly and we asked them to fix it. They didn’t so we recorded a video to show them and on our last night they fixed it with a meager, “sorry”. On the bright side, the room is clean, location is great, and the buffet was lovely. We also left two things in the hotel and when we returned, they kindly went to our room to retrieve the items.

Amazing service in Italian, English and French, the staff is ahead of our every need. They gave us access to our room ahead of time since it was ready. The breakfast was very good and well organized. The gardens are really nice. The room #42 was of sufficient size. All amenities were clean and in good working order. The shower was very nice spacious enough for us two. Hotel breakfast service was amazing. The hotel bar offered great drinks and light bites. Private taxi boat from the airport dropped us on the hotel dock and promptly picked us up at the hotel for return to the airport. Easy walking distance to major sites, like Doge's Palace and Bridge of Sighs. Hotel is steps from the Grand Canal. Very clean, no unpleasant smells from the canal and no mosquitoes to note. Will 100% stay there again. Great visit!

We love this place! Second time for me, first time for my sister. They hotel and the staff are the best! Gorgeous setting. Away from the heavy crowds, but just a two minute walk from the Accademia bridge, aquabus stop, and art gallery.

A great place for us to stay while visiting Venice. We took the Vaporetta from the train station to the hotel. Once there, we were shown to a lovely room with the view of a narrower canal and the hotel garden. The location was very convenient. An easy walk to the Doge’s Palace, Guggenheim Museum, and Rialto Bridge. The people were friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were ideal. This was really an ideal place to stay in Venice!

It's nice to not be in the center of all the hectic tourist action, and Pensione Accademia feels like a serene oasis in the otherwise busy and lively Venice. Additionally, don't skip out on the nice neighborhood amenities located close to this hotel, such as the tasty cichetti bars down the street, multiple museums, and delicious restaurants. A special mention for the breakfast and the nice gentleman who is in charge of the breakfast bar! We did not initially intend to eat breakfast at the hotel, but it was hard for us to turn down the copious delicious and nutritious options at the breakfast bar. As with any building in Venice, the hotel is quite old. This means that the walls are a little thin. As a result of this, our room was shaking when the guests who stayed above us were walking around in their room. This was our only feedback.

Breakfast was abundant and delicious and the staff there helpful as well. Water taxi drop right outside. Walkable to 'touristy' areas/shopping but away from the hustle in the evenings. Found nice restaurants tucked away in the side streets. The hotel bar looked fun but I didn't partake. You may have to walk a ways and up steps to get to your room but worth it. Highly recommend.

The hotel is in a great location - very close to the Accademia vaporetto stop so easy to get around all areas of Venice. The junior suite had one small window with a view of the garden and was quite dated. Comfortable, quiet and very clean but somewhat dated. The outdoor spaces are lovely and the staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was appreciated and offered a range of options. There is a coffee machine but the waiter will make you a proper Cappuccino if you ask. The person who made up our room did an excellent job every day. I would stay here again.

The hotel has a lovely courtyard area, was very close to Dell'accademia vaporetto stop and was convenient for getting around Venice. Our room had a view of the courtyard and canal which was wonderful. All staff were exceptionally polite and courteous and we enjoyed the old world feel of the Pensione. Breakfast was great with a good assortment of freshly made food, which we appreciated. We enjoyed the 'local' feel of the hotel neighborhood away from the main tourist hotels and would stay there again and recommend to others.
