Very happy with our stay at The Swan Hotel, met by friendly staff, very comfy bed in one of the coach house rooms and tasty breakfast. We also ate in the hotel on the first night and was very happy with our meal and service. Parking is to the rear of the hotel which is on the main street through Tarporley, very central and easy. Overall an excellent stay

Really outstanding option for us as a family - huge room we could all share in the centre of a beautiful village. Hotel has loads of charm and character + we loved the decor in the room and the public areas. Good atmosphere in the bar area downstairs and the breakfast was epic. Would highly recommend the Swan and we will return.

Good hotel, stayed hear a few times but not for a few years, hotel improved a lot. stayed in a deluxe room in rear courtyard, very spacious and clean comfortable, coffee machine in room, good shower, Internet good and food and service excellent, only issue was room very warm due to weather and had to have windows open and made noise from outside especially church bells every hour annoying, Car Parking limited and made worse by personnel parking over lines not hotels fault, but overall would stay again.

Lovely room, clean and great hospitality tray. Village is wonderful, lots of great places to eat and drink. Downsides for us were the car park that cannot be used but isn't advised before the stay, the loud water works and a room sold for 3 occupants but only came with one bed. But otherwise good place for the amount we paid to rest your head.

I often stay here whilst working at Oulton Park. I have never had a problem with on site parking and always receive a warm welcome. Rooms are spacious and quiet with great beds. The Swan also serves great food.

We had the best night stay , room was clean and bed so comfy and spacious. The breakfast was the best we ever had. The staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for us .. I would highly recommend The Swan.

lovely hotel. stayed in a family room for 5. Staff were very attentive when our kettle and coffee machine did not work. One thing i would recommend is a deep clean of the room though.

Lovely room, comfortable clean, wish they'd be more generous with the complimentary snacks and tea bags, one of each for a couple for two nights not quite what was expected. Toiletries were not replenished at all.

1 night stay. Perfect welcome by the young lady on reception...personally showed me to my room which was a nice touch. Ate at the restaurant, food was delicious shout out needed for the guys in the kitchen as well the 2 members of staff in the restaurant, both of whom were accommodating to my requests. Room and bathroom was clean with nice products to use. With the age of the building flooring in my room sloped, meaning the bed wasn't perfectly level and had to adjust my balance when simply standing up. This didnt detract from a comfortable stay. TV in the room was an internet tv but couldn't just switch on an watch, had to go through the apps which was a faff as had to log into some of them just to watch terrestrial based programmes.

The Hotel is gorgeous and spacious and never felt over crowded. The Deluxe Double Room was immaculate and very pretty. The breakfast was faultless. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

This is a great place to stay, room was very clean & comfortable and the food is fantastic. Service from the staff was excellent as well although the tea/coffee at breakfast didnt get to us until we had nearly finished the cooked breakfast but that wasnt too big an issue

It was disappointing. The room was far smaller than implied, the windows had to be left, which let a lot spiders in, which my partner is afraid off. Also, it was very noisy from the pipe work/plumbing which we could hear other residents all through the night every time someone else used the bathroom. The room listing stated it was a king size bed but this was just a double They also managed to get our breakfast wrong, and we were the only two people eating. We both asked for scrambled eggs and neither of us got eggs with our breakfast. Until we asked if they were coming separately, to which they responded “I didn’t even notice you didn’t have eggs on your plate” All around, very disappointing

Friendly staff, nice restaurant and good breakfast. Worked well for us as a base for cycling around Cheshire. Hotel has prime location on the lovely Tarporley High Street. Very old property, well maintained. Only criticism is TV reception was poor with digital picture constantly breaking up.

We stayed in room 19 in the old coach house to the rear of the hotel, room was comfortable & the hodpitality trau ead wrll stocked. Breakfast was superb.

The room in Annex was good, with steep stairs and the strangest lighting arrangements I have seen in a while, I mean the way the lights are controlled, all or nothing. Great shower and quiet after the main bar closes and cars move off. The room could do with a fan. Meals and breakfast first class, staff exceptional.

Booked in on Saturday 28th June 2025. I was disappointed on entering the twin bedroom, it did not stand up to the pictures online. The positive....beds were comfortable and complementary tea, coffee, biscuits and crisps was lovely. My friend and I had our evening meal in the restaurant, which was lovely the service was good, staff were friendly. Our biggest disappointment was the bathroom very tired looking, shower screen did not stay where it should hence from continuous use you could see the damage caused below.....come the morning to take a shower it was cold.....not matter what I tried and my friend the shower did not heat up. Furthermore, the shower control was so tight it was very difficult to turn. My friend was unable to get a bath as an alternative due to her mobility she would not of been able to get back out of the bath, hence she had a strip wash. I myself had a quick bath, which was a very small bath (a walk in shower would be more fitting for the space) Breakfast was lovely. On checking out I spoke to a male member of staff....he informed a higher female member of staff that I could speak to.....I informed her very politely about our disappointment regarding the room.....she informed me that she would let the manager know the next day as he was off and that he would get in touch. I am still waiting six days later..... very disappointed not away to do customer service.

Our biggest disappointment was the bathroom very tired looking, shower screen did not stay where it should hence from continuous use you could see the damage caused below.....come the morning to take a shower it was cold.....not matter what I tried and my friend the shower did not heat up. Furthermore, the shower control was so tight it was very difficult to turn. My friend was unable to get a bath as an alternative due to her mobility she would not of been able to get back out of the bath, hence she had a strip wash. I myself had a quick bath, which was a very small bath (a walk in shower would be more fitting for the space) Breakfast was lovely. On checking out I spoke to a male member of staff....he informed a higher female member of staff that I could speak to.....I informed her very politely about our disappointment regarding the room.....she informed me that she would let the manager know the next day as he was off and that he would get in touch. I am still waiting six days later..... very disappointed not away to do customer service.

It was disappointing. The room was far smaller than implied, the windows had to be left, which let a lot spiders in, which my partner is afraid off. Also, it was very noisy from the pipe work/plumbing which we could hear other residents all through the night every time someone else used the bathroom. The room listing stated it was a king size bed but this was just a double They also managed to get our breakfast wrong, and we were the only two people eating. We both asked for scrambled eggs and neither of us got eggs with our breakfast. Until we asked if they were coming separately, to which they responded “I didn’t even notice you didn’t have eggs on your plate” All around, very disappointing

First stay at the swan hotel, probably our last The hotel is tired We helped ourselves to a table for breakfast where we got our juice, no one asked for our room number or offered us coffee! Let alone anything to eat. It took fifteen minutes before we made eye contact with the staff to place a cooked breakfast order. Very poor service and the restaurant wasn’t busy

We had the most exceptional service from the manager and his staff. They were very accommodating in providing us space to get dressed for a wedding in advance of our check in time. Very friendly all round and great breakfasts. Would not hesitate in visiting The Swan again.

Always good even if a little chaotic at times...... Friendly bar service..... Keep and eye out for Josh and Aime - 1st class!... Food in the restaurant is very good. Breakfast can be a long wait if you catch them at the wrong time.

Very happy with our stay at The Swan Hotel, met by friendly staff, very comfy bed in one of the coach house rooms and tasty breakfast. We also ate in the hotel on the first night and was very happy with our meal and service. Parking is to the rear of the hotel which is on the main street through Tarporley, very central and easy. Overall an excellent stay

We were half way along the Sandstone Trail long distance walk, and stayed overnight at the Swan. Lovely place to stay, great food, staff very welcoming, wpuld definitely recommend.

I've been staying at the Swan for years and booked this room 6 weeks ago, requesting a room in the Courtyard. I understand that the rooms may not always be available so when I checked in and was told that the Courtyard was unavailable, I was disappointed but understood. I later found out through a colleague that someone in front of her checking in was not happy with her room being in the old building (Room 14) and insisted they move her outside, they offered her room 19 in the Courtyard, I was put in room 14. I don't sleep in the older part of the building due to the noise on the high street. I'll not stay here again, the Portal up the road is a similar price and much more peaceful

A truly fantastic little gem. Near a considerable amount of tourist attractions plus cities if you wish to travel in. Tarporley itself is a lovely village with a ton of good shops and restaurants. The Swan itself is in the centre of it all and a fabulous place to stay.

Friendly staff, nice restaurant and good breakfast. Worked well for us as a base for cycling around Cheshire. Hotel has prime location on the lovely Tarporley High Street. Very old property, well maintained. Only criticism is TV reception was poor with digital picture constantly breaking up.

We like this high street hotel in Tarpoley which is a beautiful village close to the golf course where we play with friends. The restaurant on site is very good and the rooms very comfortable. If noise is a problem for you though, ask for a room away from the front of the hotel.

I often stay here whilst working at Oulton Park. I have never had a problem with on site parking and always receive a warm welcome. Rooms are spacious and quiet with great beds. The Swan also serves great food.

What an absolutely amazing place to stay! Took our 3 young girls here to stay for a couple of days away and this place was perfect for a family of 5! It is so beautiful and spacious! The staff are incredible and so good with children so accommodating and chatty which our girls loved telling them all about their days out to Alton towers and Chester zoo. Not far from Chester Zoo and not too far from Alton Towers a bit further away. However, just an incredible stay away. Pub food was amazing children’s menu was perfect the girls loved it, puddings were delicious 😋. Gin options were great! Not many places offer a family of 5 to stay in one room and this place does! This was our first trip away as a family of 5 and we are so grateful to The Swan and their staff for making our first family trip so memorable and lovely. Thank you! Would highly recommend and will definitely come back again and again!

Really outstanding option for us as a family - huge room we could all share in the centre of a beautiful village. Hotel has loads of charm and character + we loved the decor in the room and the public areas. Good atmosphere in the bar area downstairs and the breakfast was epic. Would highly recommend the Swan and we will return.

This is a great place to stay, room was very clean & comfortable and the food is fantastic. Service from the staff was excellent as well although the tea/coffee at breakfast didnt get to us until we had nearly finished the cooked breakfast but that wasnt too big an issue

Staff all very welcoming & helpful. Room large, nicely decorated & good amenities. Nice restaurant & breakfasts very good. Very happy to tweek things to your liking. Nothing was too much trouble Would definitely return!
