Peppers Manor House

Room was spotless, staff friendly and breakfast was lovely. My only suggestion would be almond or soy milk for the coffee machine.

Full of character, beautifully clean and spacious rooms.. breakfast was really good and plentiful.

Well presented beautiful property in a quiet but convenient location. Friendly staff, cleanliness throughout the property was exceptional. Highly recommended. 👏👏

Beautiful gardens, restaurant was lovely with casual bistro options also available. Cosy fireplace with lots of nooks to sit in. Room was clean and quiet

I liked the 24 hour reception, the dining options and the beautifully maintained grounds. What I didn't like was being allocated a room with a glass door which made me feel very unsafe as a solo traveller. The room did have curtains to cover the glass windows and the door but that didn't help with the feeling of uneasiness I had experienced for the two nights that I was a guest and I didn't sleep well as a result of this. I requested my room be made up for me and left a sign on the door for this to happen and it was ignored. Wifi signal is not strong enough to connect to if you are staying in the Hillside cottages and the air conditioner in my room kept turning off throughout each night of my stay. If you are a solo traveller and are interested in staying here and want to feel safe, perhaps spend some more money and book a room within close vicinty to the reception desk.

The grounds are beautiful, the staff are very friendly, unfortunately the room smelt musty.

The bathroom was not properly cleaned

Booked the Highland Queen Room which is in the main Manor House Building. The room was very small with a rather large bathroom. The queen bed quite firm and the pillows were flat and hard, with no option to select. I won't be rushing back.

Nice, smart looking place, with roaring fires and rolling grounds and lots of cute bunnies everywhere! Decent value too. Knocked off a star however, for a lack of attention to detail in a few areas: the room and bathroom were spacious and well equipped and we slept really well (admittedly, we'd missed a night's sleep the night before, having been on a 10 hour flight!). But a towel rail was loose, the sink cracked, the sofa cushions were stained and the plug extension socket sparked when moved a couple of centimetres to plug in our phones. In this day and age there should be USB sockets for devices by the bed anyway, and this was in the fairly modern Garden Annex. It was too cold to use the pool but it looked like it needed a good clean. Breakfast buffet wasn't bad but some sweet pastries and cheese (which I don't think there was) would have been nice too.

Generous sized room in Garden block, asked for quiet room on upper floor which was ideal.

The room was not well noise attenuated which made for an interrupted sleep throughout the night.

The property has gone downhill since I visited last time. The bed was uncomfortably old and room amenties was close to nothing. I expected more from Peppers

Property has a nice country vibe and surroundings. We had a pleasant stay. The check in and check out was ok, however we find that the girl receptionist was friendly and professional while the boy wasn't very friendly and professional at the check in and needs improvement. The Highland Queen room was small and had only one tired chair, smelled like cleaning product a bit at the beginning, but it was warm and after opening the window and getting some fresh air in, it was pleasant enough to sleep. Facilities are a little tired, and the road near the gate has many potholes. Didn't use the pool as it was cold, although it looks like it might need a thorough clean, as the bottom looks a bit brownish. The live music was nice to have although the musicians felt a bit tired and monotonous at times rather than upbeat although the songs they performed were supposed to be upbeat. The breakfast didn't have any gluten free options, the non dairy milk was only soy and it was cold, so the coffee was cold as well. Overall, the experience was still quite pleasant. Surroundings are peaceful and lovely, and it felt like a nice country manor, and not a typical hotel, which is nice.

Our room in the main manor building was poor. Think creaking floors, squeaking doors, odd layouts, lack of hot water, poor noise insulation etc. A room we visited in the garden wing was much better. More of a modern hotel style and much more functional. Breakfast was excellent. Staff were universally friendly. Wifi very good. Air con was strong and silent. Restaurant for dinner was ok. (No Accor Plus benefits.) All up - much better if you don’t stay in the main building.

It was lovely to arrive and find that I had been upgraded from a Queen room to a King room. There is quite a difference and I would advise paying the extra $40 or so when booking, for such a big room. There is a modular lounge (rather small for two people) and a fairly large TV. The Queen room is better suited to someone that doesn't need to spend too much time in their room. A quick overnight stopover would best. The King bed was extremely comfortable with nice linen and the bath towels were very large and soft. Biscuits were provided, however a nice shortbread would be an improvement on a Milk Arrowroot. Unfortunately the Wi-Fi wasn't working in my room. I was offered another room with Wi-Fi, however it was a Queen room and I decided that I preferred the King room, even without Wi- Fi to Chromecast a movie. I was given a voucher for two complimentary drinks at the bar, which was a nice touch. I enjoyed a glass of red sitting in the main house reading room by the electric wood fire. There were two other wood fires in other rooms, however they were occupied. The grounds are delightful with the daffodils on display and lots of bunnies about, enjoying the day. The staff were very nice and couldn't do enough for me. All in all, I had a lovely stay.

The rooms could do with a makeover, the character and ambience of the original areas are as you would expect and OK, but the rooms are not of todays hotels standards.

We Arrived at 7.30pm, waited at reception for half an hour, searched the bar, the restaurant every space we could enter looking for someone to check us in. We ended up reaching across the counter to see a piece of paper with our name and key, so went about checking ourselves in. We paid $300 to check ourselves In. Then drove around the haunted property looking for our room number, To no avail.. To then finally come across the night guy, who didn’t apologize. Our room was upstairs.. we settled in and went to sleep, finally. Chapter 2, A knock at the door.. is this place actually haunted… who knocks on your hotel door, this doesn’t happen often in our experience at 9.30 when we are asleep.. but after passing the other zombie looking guests in on the way to our room, were unsure of our future…woken by this emotionless soul it’s the night guy…good evening. I parked our car in the wrong spot, and must move it, I offered him the keys to do it himself as by this stage was ready to jump out the window.. he politely refused.. I put my layers back on and moved the car. Thanks for listening, couldn’t get out of there fast enough the next morning, wanted breakfast but didn’t want the potential headaches, so went straight for the well parked car and got out of there. Never have asked this in life, yet Would love our money back, worst hotel experience yet! Stayed the next night at the Robertson for half the price.

Absolutely incredible staff. We left a very valuable watch in the room by accident & the staff went above & beyond to contact us & keep it safe until we were able to get someone to collect it. Very gratful to such wonderful & kind staff 💗

We had planned to only stay for about 4 days. Our plans changed due to a family crisis and we were there for 10 days. In that time the whole staff team were sympathetic and supportive in many ways. They are a great team and worthy of high praise. Peppers is not just somewhere to stay it is a "destination". The property is oozing in charm of years gone by. You need to see it for yourself!

A spur of the moment booking turned into a delightful getaway. The staff were impeccable, friendly, efficient and accommodating. The room was so clean and tasteful and the location peaceful. As for the manor house itself, it was charming, well loved and we made the most of the many sitting rooms and fireplaces. The food was delicious and fresh. We were sad to leave and highly recommend a short or longer stay for a country getaway.

Our check-in was meant to be at 2pm, upon arriving we were advised our room was not ready, 15 mins later I had to ask again, we did not get checked in until 2:30pm. The room, in one of the cabins (Queen room) , was very disappointing. It is very tired and needs a lot of work to be undertaken on the property. I will say that the gardens are beautifully well maintained and Katers Restaurant was fantastic, it’s a shame this level of upkeep is not followed through to the accomodation itself. When checking out and providing feedback we were advised that we might like to stay in the garden suite next time!!

The property is gorgeous but sadly I will not be a returning guest.When checking in we were told breakfast was not included when we had booked a room that included breakfast (clearly stated along the whole booking process). The check in staff were adamant it wasn’t and advised I should contact Expedia as they have displayed it wrong. Even after supplying multiple screenshots, displaying “free breakfast” the staff still sent me to call support. After spending an hour on hold then another 30 minutes talking to support they advised breakfast was included and that the hotel hasn’t updated their listing if otherwise. After all that we still did not get the breakfast, I wasted time on my getaway and overall had an unpleasant experience. I understand perhaps things are displayed wrong on other sites however it is the responsibility of the property to review and update their listing. Not a very pleasant experience.

Mark at the front desk is lovely, check in was quick, efficient and friendly. He gave us a complimentary upgrade which was very much appreciated. The room was in the garden view area, and it was lovely - recently refurbished and looks modern, but still has the classic style with a bath tub and spacious room. I appreciated the shampoo and body wash in large pump bottles in the shower, it would be great if the hand soap and other toiletries were converted from single use to larger bottles to make it more sustainable. Otherwise overall a great stay!

This is a lovely old homestead property. It's a little tired in places but that adds to the heritage charm. The big let down is that staff are not properly trained and there is not enough staff to have someone at the front reception all the time. Outside of reception, we pretty constantly saw staff who were present and lounging around but not on the job. Reception staff were not able to answer basic questions about the property. No criticism of the staff involved: this is a training issue which is a management responsibility. Disappointing for an Accor property.

A hidden gem in the Highlands. Definitely worth a try - you won't be disappointed. Staff are amazing and very attentive.

Really had a relaxing short break and the place lived up to all our expectations. The staff were wonderful and we’d recommend this location to anyone looking for a quiet location that’s surrounded by so many beautiful areas to explore.

This is my favorite accommodation in the Southern Highlands. Fabulous property to get away and relax in the wine country. Request a room on the hill and you will be able to see wild kangaroos in the morning and early evening just behind the building on the hill top.

Easy checkin, welcoming staff, excellent heating in room and hot water in bathroom. Very cozy. Situated in pretty and peaceful countryside.

Magnificent period historic property set on a golf course. Restaurant on site. Large rooms and tastefully equipped bathroom. Within a short drive to Moss Vale shops and Sutton Forest Hotel. Enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

Excellent food and service

This is a stunning property in the country. Peaceful and relaxing. Only two negatives: 1) the service in the restaurant was extremely slow and bar hours too short. 2) I needed a 120V U.S. adapter for a medical device and they did not have. They sent me on a wild goose chase to five stores with no success. MAKE SURE U.S. RESIDENTS HAVE AN ADAPTER.

I think for breakfast you should have a barista making coffee for a 5 star hotel i do not expect to nake my own capaccino

Beautifully maintained grounds, and a peaceful quiet environment but for the high end cost I had greater expectations such as better coffee/tea making provisions, inclusion of complimentary toiletries/shower cap etc, some local produce for breakfast such as jams ( although local honey was noted). Whilst the included breakfast was adequate the quality of the cakes and pastries could have been better. The TV was too small for the room, and could easily accommodate a larger one. Staff also seemed not to know what could be seen and experienced in the local area.

We liked that the property was well kept and respected, being an older manor. The staff were excellent in customer service, they were all polite and always trying their best to get what you want or need. The breakfast was also great. The down side to the property is that they are rebranding at the moment and did not inform us. We were impacted by this because there were several new staff members finding their way around still. The staff we not aware of certain discounts available in the restaurant at Katers. There were a couple before us paying and was trying to show membership cards for restaurant discount and staff were not aware of this and in a quiet restaurant, this could be heard by all diners. Can be quite embarrassing for customers. Then we went to pay and was showing another type of discount program that the restaurant was offering, but the staff were unaware of this and was texting someone to ask about it and then ended up calling them. I had to explain the type of card and discount offered several times and staff did not understand and I wasn’t about to give a maths lesson to staff. I was quite agitated and didn’t like the attention I was getting from other customers. I ended paying for the meal and left. Not the kind of feeling I wanted on holidays. The bathroom was small, but fine. The room was not serviced after the first night except for bed being made. No amenities were restocked, we had to ask for several items from reception.
