From the outside, it looked the the place was not even open. Doors to the lobby were broke. No staff at front when we entered and had to wait over 15 minutes for someone to show up. Pool was closed, permanently. No safety latch on door to room. Bathroom had hair in the tubs.

The hotel was advertised as having a breakfast but does not offer one. The pool was closed "for cleaning" but one could look in and see that the roof offered no protection whatever from the steady rainfall outside, creating a danger, and that was clearly why it was closed. They are doing renovations but are not transparent about their services. However the worst thing for us was the inflexibility of the management. We reserved a suite for Thursday and Friday nights for two adults and two children expecting two queen beds. They gave us keys two adjoining rooms when we checked in late Thursday night. The next day they called us and told us we needed to check out that day or pay another $400 for Friday night. Upon showing them the printed receipt they agreed that the mistake was the fault of their employee, but since we had accepted the keys, they expected us to pay for the additional room for two nights. We chose to leave the hotel, and go elsewhere for the second night. Then they wanted additional money for early checkout.

Pool was out of order. Hotel did not have a game room. Booked an accessible room. Was given a room on the 2nd floor with no elevator available. Contacted expedia who contacted hotel. Was not given a different room, was told that i needed to contact hotel ahead of time to ensure accessible room.

Staff was very nice. But the tv didn’t work. The shower took forever to get warm. Floors were dirty. Pool didn’t look well kept and the roof was leaking. Very outdated and looked almost abandoned from the outside. For the money I guess it was okay. Beds were comfy and good ac in rooms. Good location.

Marginal Very poor run down hotel. I drove past it thinking it was abandoned! No amenities, broken pool, broken refrigerator…Needs investors, or sell the property and start again.

The good: The people who worked there seemed nice and the bathroom was clean. The price was low The bad: Strong smell of mold/mildew in the lobby and halls (not as bad in the room because the AC was running but without the AC on the air quality was terrible.) A bucket in the lobby to catch water (maybe that is connected to the mold smell, not sure). The room looked like a fight had taken place in there at some point (the lamp on the side table was bent to the side and there were patched holes in the bathroom door. The overall feel of the place was run down and oddly unsafe (there were only two other visitors in the whole place so that may have contributed to the slight "horror movie" feel of the place). I wanted to feel okay about the place because the price was good and the people seemed nice but honestly, I can't in good conscience recommend this hotel.

We legit thought the property was defunct when we pulled into the parking lot. It was very overgrown & run down. As we entered the lobby it was old & smelled like curry. Carpets and furniture were gross. The exit doors weren’t secure. The bathrooms had old shower tile from the 60s but new granite counter sink mirror. Hair dryer didn’t work. There were clean sheets, coffee maker & new blinds; old carpet & furniture.

I never leave reviews but this place, I just have to warn you about. The property was horrific. Nothing like the pictures and looked like it was straight out of a horror film. There was lack of security on the additional outside doors to enter the building. Anyone can enter the building because there was no need to use hotel key card to enter- it was just open. The room was absolutely disgusting! It was dirty with dust everywhere. There was a muggy and moldy smell both in the hallways and in the room. The bathroom was beyond disgusting, with a mold smell from the bathtub and stains everywhere. There was also pee stains on the toilet - I had to use my own Lysol wipe to clean it. We didn’t even feel comfortable sleeping in the bed. We slept OVER the comforter and used our jackets as blankets. This was the worst place I have ever stayed at. They need to seriously upgrade and find a new cleaning crew. If I could, I would rate this hotel a 0. I will never stay here again even.

This place was nothing like it is in the picture. It was so dirty I didn't feel safe. The ceiling was falling mold and mildew smell in hallway and check in. In rooms sheers and bathrooms were still dirty from previous customers.

The description and photos online didn't align with the current conditions of the property. The grounds are poorly lit at night, the pool wasn't available, our room didn’t have a working phone or TV, a wall faceplate wasn't secured to the wall and our window didn’t have a locking mechanism. The room was clean, and the beds were comfortable. It was quite and centrally located to the attractions nearby.

Checking in at night and having our room towards the back meant driving around the building, it is not well lit and was a little worrying safety wise, as the doors from the parking lot into the buildings were not locked and many were wide open. Our room was comfortable and clean, the AC was working great, good WiFi, bathroom light took a minute to figure out, but we got there! I was very disappointed that this hotel was offered on Hotels.com. The building was run-down, the WIFI did not work, there was no on-site dining, the only security was a camera over the side entry door which was not locked at night. I would not ever recommend staying at this location.

From the outside, it looked the the place was not even open. Doors to the lobby were broke. No staff at front when we entered and had to wait over 15 minutes for someone to show up. Pool was closed, permanently. No safety latch on door to room. Bathroom had hair in the tubs.

The hotel was advertised as having a breakfast but does not offer one. The pool was closed "for cleaning" but one could look in and see that the roof offered no protection whatever from the steady rainfall outside, creating a danger, and that was clearly why it was closed. They are doing renovations but are not transparent about their services. However the worst thing for us was the inflexibility of the management. We reserved a suite for Thursday and Friday nights for two adults and two children expecting two queen beds. They gave us keys two adjoining rooms when we checked in late Thursday night. The next day they called us and told us we needed to check out that day or pay another $400 for Friday night. Upon showing them the printed receipt they agreed that the mistake was the fault of their employee, but since we had accepted the keys, they expected us to pay for the additional room for two nights. We chose to leave the hotel, and go elsewhere for the second night. Then they wanted additional money for early checkout.

The front desk staff was friendly and fast. Checking in at night and having our room towards the back meant driving around the building, it is not well lit and was a little worrying safety wise, as the doors from the parking lot into the buildings were not locked and many were wide open. Our room was comfortable and clean, the AC was working great, good WiFi, bathroom light took a minute to figure out, but we got there! The photos aren't quite accurate for what the rooms actually look like, but it is a convenient spot if you are going to local sights and attractions.

I had reached out prior to arrival to let them know we would arrive very late. Upon arrival our room had been given away and we were assigned a different room. There were 5 of us and only two double beds. The clerk was very apologetic and got manager on phone who ended up yelling and screaming as well as threatening to call the police all because we requested refund. No way could we have stayed so we left with a child in tow and found another hotel. This is actually the second incident I have experienced in bad service since I have booked through Expedia and unfortunately twice within 2 years. Would not recommend this hotel as there needs to be much improvement to the property and management.

Hard to rate service when there is NONE! You must come to the front desk to obtain your towels, toilet paper, bath mats, washcloths, etc. finding someone to get them for you is another problem. Phone has note to call for help…rings off the wall, no one answers. After three call over time, I gave up! They don’t make your beds, empty trash, etc., either! Yet, there is an envelope asking for a tip! Daytime person nice, beds are comfortable.

People gathering in the unlit areas of parking lot and around the premises late at night upon arrival. Staff unwilling to issue refund even though I refused to stay. There is an empty, former restaurant attached to the hotel which makes it look like it might be sketchy but the lobby and rooms very clean, comfortable and well decorated. The staff was very friendly too. Don’t judge a book by its cover. It was a very nice stay for a great price and close to the aquarium.

This property has seen better days and was somewhat alarming to pull up to but the rooms have clearly been recently updated and were clean. Staff were welcoming and the lobby had been decorated for the holiday. I'd stay there again.

Room was nice and cool, ckean, quiet, yes outdated but the bedding was modern and clean, most important. It looks like its closed when you first drive in, take left and you will see the lobby. Coffee, juice in lobby.

At first glance, the property looks abandoned. We drove right past it. There was a restaurant attached, but is now closed, hence the empty look. However, upon check in, staff was super friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, clean, quiet and comfy. The hotel is right off the main road and in walking distance to restaurants, and Olde Mystick Village. Good value for the $$.

It is located close to Foxwoods and mystic Aquarium. We were able to check in earlier than 3. The outside of the hotel is not ideal. The outside doors that say locked 24/7 were wide open. No key required. The room was ok however someone tired to get into our room in the middle of the night. I always put something in front of the door overnight. We were woken up by a loud band. The top foor was half open and the it not for the loud bang of the luggage rack slamming into the door, someone could have walked into our room and we wouldn't have know it. We believe they had a key. The bottom lock was also unlocked. We lock everything when in the hotel room.

For the price, this place is just fine. You can walk to Old Mystic Village where there are shopping, dining and entertainment options (walking distance from the aquarium). The hotel is dingy and obviously old but it is clean. Even though the fan in the bathroom did not work there was zero sign of mold and no mildew smells. The sheets were clean and the beds were comfortable for a 2 night stay. The hotel staff was polite. It was nice the room had a mini fridge and a microwave.

After reading all the reviews I was skeptical of renting a room. We were pleasantly surprised. Room was large and spacious and beds were very comfortable. Very close to Mystic Village and Aquarium. The visual presentation found online(Expedia and Google) are very misleading. The pictures were not representative of current physical appearance of facility. Adequate for a place to sleep, but not much else. There were: Plumbing issues: inconsistent water pressure, leaking ceiling throughout, toilet problems. Safety/security concerns: exterior doors left unlocked, ceiling tiles broken or missing throughout facility Comfort: carpeted tiles uneven on floor, no floor pad under carpet, uneven concrete under carpet, cigarette burns in chair cushion, a hole in bathroom wall! I was very disappointed that this hotel was offered on Hotels.com. The building was run-down, the WIFI did not work, there was no on-site dining, the only security was a camera over the side entry door which was not locked at night. I would not ever recommend staying at this location.

There was juice and coffee, but no creamer. The water may have been old or the containers improperly cleaned. Our family was sick shortly after consuming the beverages. The pool room was leaky with rain water dripping inside and into the pool. The pool water gave my children a rash. There was no roll out/away cot as advertised. I plunged my own toilet bc there were issues with it flushing properly.

There was an ant infestation, and no other rooms available. The hairdryer did not work and the hallways and stairways were filthy. Nice enough for an affordable stay right near the village. The property is due for some updates but the staff was helpful. The pool was closed and the vending machines were all empty. I found my room to be clean and I enjoy being able to control the temperature.

Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the condition and overall quality of the room. The craftsmanship and attention to detail were extremely poor throughout. There was missing caulking and visible mold in areas of the room. The trim work and paintwork were very poorly done, and there were huge, unfinished gaps around pipes where they came through the walls. Overall, many of the repairs and finishes looked incomplete and unprofessional. Cleanliness was also a major concern. The top blanket on the bed was visibly dirty, and the trash can had not even been emptied from the previous guests. That immediately made me question how thoroughly the rest of the room had been cleaned before my arrival. The blinds were another problem. They did not adequately block the outside light, particularly the constant lights and traffic from the nearby interstate, which made it difficult to get the room dark enough to sleep comfortably. I understand that this is not a luxury property, and I wasn't expecting luxury accommodations. However, basic cleanliness, proper maintenance, and reasonably finished workmanship should be expected at any hotel. Unfortunately, this room fell well below those expectations.
