This charming cottage (the Cowshed) is in a very quiet and convenient location in Meath. The accommodations were as shown, and we had a very comfortable two-day stay. There's a beautiful forest in the back that you can wander through, and the communication with the Hosts was fantastic. I would definitely stay at the Duffy's Ballabin again.

My two teens and I stayed for 3 days at this lovely farm in Ashbourne. The apartment was lovely, spacious and very clean. It had a nice patio that looked out at a field with some friendly sheep and to our delight two cats that wanted nothing but love. Our host Ciaran was so hospitable, he knew so much history about the land and area so we ended up staying close by during our explorations to see Trim Castle. My kids love animals to getting to interact with the cows, sheep, dogs and cats was the perfect end to our trip in Ireland. The forest on site had a nice pathway which allowed for evening strolls until the sun went down at 10:30 pm! All in all we would go back to Ciaran's place in a heartbeat if we are ever in Ireland again.

A wonderful place for families! Sheep right outside the door and lots of places to take the kids on walks. Eva was a lovely help and provided high chair. Thank you for the bread, butter, tea, coffee, juice, and milk upon arrival!

We had a great two nights on the farm! Eva was welcoming and accommodating and our kids loved the friendly cat and dogs on the property. The cowshed was very comfortable and had everything that we needed. :)

What you see in VRBO’s photos is what you get! Spot on! Beautiful scenic drives all around and the VRBO was excellent! We had two sweet sheep that greeted us upon arrival and the land around the farm is gorgeous!! Eva was wonderful to talk to and so very sweet! If I could give it 6 stars, I would!!

With this apartment, everything was unproblematic right from the start. Ciaran contacted us shortly after booking and provided us with information. When we arrived, we were greeted very warmly by Eva and she took us to the cozy and clean apartment, where a lovely welcome package was waiting for us. Everything else here was also immaculate. A nice kitchen where you don't miss anything, a bathroom with a nice shower and you could sleep well in the beds. A great bonus is the small forest behind the house, which is perfect for a walk. The apartment is well connected. Shopping facilities are within a short distance, as well as excursion destinations (Newgrange, Trim Castle and of course Dublin) and the airport. We had a wonderful stay at this property. It was super spacious, we were greeted by a very friendly cat, buns/croissants/jams/butter/milk/OJ when we arrived, and the property was very clean. It was our favorite VRBO out of the 5 that we stayed at during our UK/Ireland vacation. Very nice caretaker, friendly dogs, great walking trail around the farm, sheep, and an easy 20-30 minute drive to Dublin. Highly recommend this one! (Just remember that the entrance is past the house, not via the main gate!)

Ciaran and Eve were wonderful hosts! The apartment was very tidy and easy to find. Our transport was delayed and they incredibly accommodating of a midnight arrival. We were delighted to find tea and snacks waiting for us in the kitchen. The farm was easy to find and we loved exploring the trails and meeting all the animals living there. We look forward to visiting again!

Wir hatten einen sehr angenehmen Aufenthalt für 3 Nächte. Alles war sauber, der Kontakt mit Eva sehr nett. Der Willkommenskorb mit leckeren Brötchen, Butter, Marmelade und noch einiges mehr ist super gut angekommen... Diese Unterkunft können wir gerne weiter empfehlen....

This property definitely exceeded our expectations. We will be staying here in the future. It was very spacious, clean and well maintained. The owners of the property were wonderful. My favorite part was all of the farm animals on the property as we are huge animal lovers. It felt like being home instead of some generic hotel. Thank you so much.

The property was as described. The property was clean and easy to check in. My only slight issue was that it was not easy to walk to nearby shops or pubs, as the road is narrow and dangerous to walk on. Other than that I would highly recommend it.

Nice 2 bedroom stay with a view.. sheep and lambs out the back door. Great distance from Dublin, not too far but enough for a quiet night of sleep during St Patricks weekend. Kitchen had all we needed and the welcome goods were nice. Host was understanding with time change/dates misstep on my part.

Quiet, comfortable and nice location for our needs. We took 25 minutes to get to Newgrange and about the same time to get to the Dublin airport for our flight home. We were treated with a lovely basket of breakfast foods, as well. The host has prepared an excellent and very comprehensive book of all you could need while staying in this area.

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage — it had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing visit. The location was perfect: surrounded by beautiful countryside, yet with quiet, traffic-free roads that made getting to our daily destinations easy and stress-free. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay!

Located just outside Ashbourne, short driving distances to Slane and Dublin airport. Two bedroom self catering apartment with all amenities. Eva greeted us with a welcome basket of fresh bread, milk, juice and beverages 😊

Highly recommend! This self-service stay was impeccable. The owners were too kind and the home had everything we needed; two bedrooms, kitchen and living room/dining room combo. We enjoyed the peaceful surroundings and the convenience of having grocery stores and restaurants within 5 minutes, while only being 25 minutes outside of Dublin. My 9-yr old said it best: we're surrounded by life here!!

We so enjoyed staying here. Ciaran and Eva were so warm and welcoming. We didn't realize our need of a vehicle until we arrived, but they graciously gave us rides to Ashbourne to catch the bus. Thanks so much for making our first trip so memorable!

We really enjoyed staying in The Cow Shed for our time in the Dublin area. Welcome basket of breakfast items was appreciated. It’s a reasonable drive in to the city or you can take the 103 bus. We had a mi or issue with the hot water heater that was promptly and professionally resolved to our satisfaction. Friendly cat on property.

The hosts were very gracious and or little one enjoyed walking around the woods and getting to see a few animals. Very nice that they had a travel crib and a highchair for us to use. Ashebourne had a surprising amount of restaurants for takeout and easy access to Dublin/the airport with a rental car.

The property was as described. The property was clean and easy to check in. My only slight issue was that it was not easy to walk to nearby shops or pubs, as the road is narrow and dangerous to walk on. Other than that I would highly recommend it.

Quiet, comfortable and nice location for our needs. We took 25 minutes to get to Newgrange and about the same time to get to the Dublin airport for our flight home. We were treated with a lovely basket of breakfast foods, as well. The host has prepared an excellent and very comprehensive book of all you could need while staying in this area.

We really enjoyed staying in The Cow Shed for our time in the Dublin area. Welcome basket of breakfast items was appreciated. It’s a reasonable drive in to the city or you can take the 103 bus. We had a mi or issue with the hot water heater that was promptly and professionally resolved to our satisfaction. Friendly cat on property.

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage — it had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing visit. The location was perfect: surrounded by beautiful countryside, yet with quiet, traffic-free roads that made getting to our daily destinations easy and stress-free. It was a typical farm house that got us away from the city. You need to Uber, have a car or get a ride to town. Walking is dangerous and no bus stop close. The setting is beautiful and hosts were accommodating.

Highly recommend! This self-service stay was impeccable. The owners were too kind and the home had everything we needed; two bedrooms, kitchen and living room/dining room combo. We enjoyed the peaceful surroundings and the convenience of having grocery stores and restaurants within 5 minutes, while only being 25 minutes outside of Dublin. My 9-yr old said it best: we're surrounded by life here!!

We had a wonderful stay at this property. It was super spacious, we were greeted by a very friendly cat, buns/croissants/jams/butter/milk/OJ when we arrived, and the property was very clean. It was our favorite VRBO out of the 5 that we stayed at during our UK/Ireland vacation. Very nice caretaker, friendly dogs, great walking trail around the farm, sheep, and an easy 20-30 minute drive to Dublin. Highly recommend this one! (Just remember that the entrance is past the house, not via the main gate!)

Nice 2 bedroom stay with a view.. sheep and lambs out the back door. Great distance from Dublin, not too far but enough for a quiet night of sleep during St Patricks weekend. Kitchen had all we needed and the welcome goods were nice. Host was understanding with time change/dates misstep on my part.

Nette Ferienwohnung, in der Nähe von Dublin. Mit dem Bus kann man bequem dorthin fahren. Die Ferienwohnung war für uns völlig ausreichend, 3 Erwachsene und 1 Kind. Die Schlafzimmer waren groß genug, das Wohnzimmer mit Esstisch und Sofa und Fernseher völlig ausreichend. In der Küche war alles vorhanden was man braucht, es gab sogar ein Begrüßungskorb mit Brötchen, Marmelade, Butter, Milch, Saft, Kaffee undTee. Eva hat uns noch viele Tipps gegeben und alle Fragen beantwortet, die wir über Land und Leute noch so hatten. Alles in allem fühlten wir uns bestens aufgehoben. Vielen Dank für die schöne Zeit

Wir hatten einen sehr angenehmen Aufenthalt für 3 Nächte. Alles war sauber, der Kontakt mit Eva sehr nett. Der Willkommenskorb mit leckeren Brötchen, Butter, Marmelade und noch einiges mehr ist super gut angekommen... Diese Unterkunft können wir gerne weiter empfehlen....

With this apartment, everything was unproblematic right from the start. Ciaran contacted us shortly after booking and provided us with information. When we arrived, we were greeted very warmly by Eva and she took us to the cozy and clean apartment, where a lovely welcome package was waiting for us. Everything else here was also immaculate. A nice kitchen where you don't miss anything, a bathroom with a nice shower and you could sleep well in the beds. A great bonus is the small forest behind the house, which is perfect for a walk. The apartment is well connected. Shopping facilities are within a short distance, as well as excursion destinations (Newgrange, Trim Castle and of course Dublin) and the airport. The hosts were very gracious and or little one enjoyed walking around the woods and getting to see a few animals. Very nice that they had a travel crib and a highchair for us to use. Ashebourne had a surprising amount of restaurants for takeout and easy access to Dublin/the airport with a rental car.
