Best Western Carthage Inn & Suites

We havd stayed before at this BW property, but don’t remember it being unkept. This trip we were disappointed to find that the room had not been really vacuumed (around baseboards especially) in what appeared quite a while. It had been out in the middle, and that was about it. The towels did not appear to have been laundered thoroughly to me. For sure not white. Everything just looked worn. The A/C was not sufficient for the size room we were in-but we had a ceiling fan that we could not adjust! The drawers and cabinets had not been dusted or wiped out in quite awhile-evidenced by the dirt and bugs in them. I realize that hotels have to move furniture out and around-however, this location had two entertainment units sitting right at the front door as you enter the hotel and 3 in the hallway right outside our door on the 2nd floor. This is very poor looking for guests. The pool had a broken ladder with Caution tape wrapped all around it saying don’t use. That is not a good look for this place. We were there for two nights and it could have been fixed quicker. If we were not paying to stay in a better hotel, I might not provide this review, but this BW was disappointing based on others we’ve stayed at. Fix your broken stuff, move your obsolete furniture out of my face and properly clean your rooms for paying guests!

The room was like new. We love a bathtub so that was good to see. I had an evening event to attend and the parking lot was lit up like an amusement park. I felt very safe.

The pool was nasty and the hot tub was cold

Room was hot when we walked in. It is taking forever for it to cool down. It is 90 degrees outside. Air conditioner should have been on before we checked in. Hallways are hot also.

Break fast didn't have milk or bacon at 8 am didn't replenish. Hot tub was off Hot

I was told on the phone that the hot tub was working. That is the reason I was willing to pay the rate, which is higher than other hotels in Carthage. Once checked in, I learned the hot tub is "closed for the season". I was lied to!

Clean room. Friendly staff. Well lit parking lot. Ice machine near room. Elevators worked well.

My friend and I were kept up by loud teenagers…the phones didn’t work. Also at checkout we found that we were charged THREE times!

There are several fire trucks and we can’t check in.

Our stay was very pleasant. We were greeted with a friendly smile and check in was simple. Our room was ready and located in a comfortable section of the hotel. Breakfast was offered but we did not have any due to late awakening. We were located on the 3rd floor and it was quiet and peaceful. The pool is located outside and was enjoyed by other guests. I would definitely stay here again.

Affordable, clean, friendly staff. The breakfast bar was a little low but both mornings I went down a group of 5 men had just gotten their food so they probably didn’t have time to restock. Overall a great stay.

Check in was good. But we got to the room and it had a strange odor, the comforter was covered by a sheet to try and hide the extremely stained comforter that looked disgusting. There was no soap, shampoo, or conditioner in the bathroom. The hair dryer was covered in rust. And my fiance and I woke up itchy and she had bites/a rash all over her side. We could hear snoring through the wall all night and someones alarm going off. Highly unhappy with our stay and would never stay there again.

Nice property and great service. However the hallways were dirty and or bathroom needed a sweep, and a mop. Could have been cleaner. It worked well for an over night stay and the price was on point.

Clean and quiet

Found the bathroom floor was a little dirty when I wiped something I spilled. Breakfast food is really not very tasteful. Desk Service was geat though. Bed was very comfortable, but what happened to full size pillows? Regardless, I will stay again.

Could be cleaned better. Bathroom walls were dirty. No soap in dispenser. Water taps could use an update. Overall way below best western quality.

The hotel was very clean, and the staff was great.

2nd time this year that I stayed at this location and had a similar experience with holes in the sheets Which reported last time. Also tolet isn't installed properly. Last trip the bathroom sink faucet leaked all over the counter tops. The only thing good about this place is the breakfast 4 star

This is the second time I've stayed here and it was very good both times. This time they were renovating, so there was a smell of paint in my room that went away in the evening. I could hear someone snoring in the next room, so the walls are a little thin. Very efficient staff.

For an otherwise very nice place, it was ruined by the room in which I was placed … directly above two sliding doors to the main entrance. Not only audible, but you could actually feel the opening and closing. I was able to sleep from about midnight until 3;30 am. Don’t ever let them put you in 207 or 209. I’ve noticed over the years that a reservation on Expedia nets you the least desirable rooms.

The hotel was clean, the bed was comfortable and the staff was friendly and professional. The only downside was the level of road noise that I heard from the loop traffic.

Place is nice. Beds are super firm and pillows are awful. Virtual got no sleep.

Rooms located on the back of the facility had nice views of a pond and nature. Staff was friendly and very helpful.

Very good experience. Called front desk with TV problem and service man was there within 5 minutes and solved problem. Room clean and room quiet even though by elevator. Would stay again.

My stay was booked through a third party paid in full and I had to provide a debit card for a hold of $75 for incidental. My card was charged almost $200 and it took me 4 days to get a refund and it still wasn’t for the full amount.

Check in easy and fast. Friendly and professional staff. Helpful advice on dining options and points of interest.

We left my daughters tablet in our room thinking we would never see it again but someone just called me to let me know they found it and are going to mail it to us! Breakfast was EXCELLENT and the staff was so nice. If we ever pass through Carthage again, we will stop here. Thanks so much!

I left my wedding ring in our room and the lovely workers found it and returned it to me! I thought for sure it was gone! Wonderful employees!

The night staff at check-in was incredible. I did not get a name but she demonstrated the best customer service I have experienced at a hotel! She definitely went above and beyond and deserves a raise!

The property was clean and staff was friendly. Would stay there again. The entrance is hard to get into off of the busy loop. Lots of 18 wheelers flying by.

The AC worked but was VERY loud every time the compressor cycled on. Fortunately we needed limited run time, so I reported it when I left. It was entirely manageable. Spacious bathroom countertop. Decent sized under counter fridge that worked and was quiet. The in-room coffee maker was one of those single-serve units with the disposable plastic "boats" that hold a filter-pack of coffee. Hate those. Not very compatible with guest supplied coffee, and they tend to splatter water all over if you try to heat water for tea or cocoa. I don't have to have K-cups, but would rather have something more flexible, like an electric kettle with coffee in pour-over filters. Had hot breakfast options. Not tons of variety from day to day, but certainly adequate and of reasonable quality and well tended during breakfast hours. Hung out the "do not disturb" card all but one day when we needed fresh towels and trash service. Room was cleaned and beds made. Our things treated with respect and placed with a little extra care that put smiles on our faces! Really enjoyed the view of the pond to the rear of the hotel. Our room didn't happen to overlook it, but saw it from the breakfast room each day. Would stay again.

The only problem I had waswith other guest smoking pot in their rooms. Not reallythe holtels fault, but I left with a headache from it. Beautiful property. Very kind staff. I travel alone and felt safe staying alone. Will reserve again next year!

We use to stay at the other national chain next door but the new manager there has a lot of regulars leaving and coming over here. The staff here is great and very accommodating to our needs. They are always welcoming and very friendly. I enjoy just visiting with them when I come in. Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable, and location is easy to get around from.

All was GOOD ! ! ! One minus is the breakfast menu , Same items every-day , offsets with a huge array of items you don't HAVE to eat the same thing everyday ! GREAT !
