Courtyard by Marriott Atlanta Downtown

I recently stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott Atlanta Downtown and wanted to share my experience. While the hotel has some positive aspects, there were a few notable drawbacks that affected my stay. Firstly, the location is great and conveniently situated near many attractions and dining options. The lobby is welcoming, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout my visit. First and foremost, I encountered some issues with the rooms I booked with double beds, and unfortunately, I found them quite uncomfortable. The beds seemed lower to the ground than usual, which made getting in and out a bit awkward. Additionally, the bed stands were not ideal, contributing to an overall less than pleasant sleeping experience. Another inconvenience was that only one elevator was operational during my stay. This led to longer wait times, especially during peak hours, which was frustrating. Overall, while the hotel has its strengths, I would recommend considering these factors if you're planning a stay. I hope they can address these issues for a better experience in the future.

I was able to call the front desk to send out the valet attendant. I did have one sketchy guy approach my vehicle while I was waiting. And there’s not much parking directly in front of the hotel so I had to double park. But once inside the hotel is great. Staff was friendly. You need a key card to even use the elevator so felt very safe inside.

Good food options at the bistro and cafe, the food all tasted good and was affordable, the highlight was the kind staff members!

Our only concern was the fact that because the street is so narrow, there was really nowhere to load to load and unload. We felt rushed to get things out and move out of the way.

The valet parking was $50 a night.

One of the elevators was out of service and the one that was working felt like it would break any minute. It took a long time to get to my room on the 9th floor. The door to my room would jam and it was hard to open/close. Overall not a great stay especially for the money I had to pay for just one night. I wish I would have stayed elsewhere.

The hotel doesn’t have a parking We have to pay $50.00 for night

I should not have to ask to get my room service, if i stay 3 night. one elevetor broken and the service one was also down. not the Marriott i know, very desipointing.

Great location, very expensive parking

I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family, I found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Particularly Robert, sounds, Cynthia, and Veronica. Those staff helped me get acquainted with the city and helped me out when when ubereats had issues with my order and I was starving. Additionally, I loved the gym and the general area the hotel is in, the people in the area were helpful and the food in the area was amazing (Hooters wings *chef's kiss*). Lastly, the hotel was clean, washroom was amazing (Allot of mirrors, aestetically beautiful, and the shower was divine.), and the room was comfortable.

The room we had was so spacious, the windows were big and had a lot of natural lighting, the bathroom was really clean and amazing lights. I didn’t hear any noise when in the room.

This location is old. The vents have rust on them. That must change. The air quality was bad. I found hair on the bedding it was changed quickly. The heat wasn’t working properly in my room, I was freezing cold (not to mention it was a very cold and rainy weekend in ATL) and the temperature was on 90. I was allowed to change rooms but the damage was done it was very unpleasant experience. I felt miserable upon my departure.

Nice and clean

This is a great hotel in downtown Atlanta. My only complaint is the floors in our room looked like they hadn’t been swept/vacuumed/mopped in quite some time. Other than that, it was a great stay!

The room my daughter and I stayed in was on the 10th floor and was very comfortable and clean. The hotel itself was pleasant, however the surrounding area was uncomfortable. There were many people smoking pot outside the hotel and down the street and we did not feel safe walking around the block. Also, there was no free parking at the hotel. You could either choose valet, for $50, or pay for parking in the garage across the street (ended up being $28 for the night). While the hotel was actually very nice, I wouldnt stay in that area again.

Walls of room were sticky dirty. it looked like something splashed on it. parts of the floor near it were sticky, no liners in bathroom trashcan. Roach appeared in bathroom. room was never touched by cleaning staff during stay.

In town for a concert at Mercedes Benz. Location is good. The hotel couldn’t accommodate two queen beds for our family of four. The pullout sofa in the room smelled terrible and we only managed to get one pillow and sheets for it after two trips to the lobby. The bathroom floor and shower had hair on them. The valet line was constantly full and the self parking garage smelled like a Grateful Dead concert.

The refrigerator provided in the room was full of mold. Could not store our left over food or anything in it. The tv is inconveniently place on a side wall and not in front of the bed. Items missing from car after using valet because there was no free parking anywhere.

I didn't like that I did not have a closet in mu room

At first I got locked in my room, they sent a repair guy, he did fix the alternate lock. The primary lock never worked though.

Staff was awesome. Made recommendations for dining and entertainment. Room itself was ok… sleeper sofa definitely needs to be replaced because it offered zero support. Barn door on bathroom provides very little privacy

Toilet leaks, shower drain very slow. Bed was comfortable and convenient to most of downtown

This hotel was pretty good. It was clean comfortable and in a nice central location a lot of places walking distance. My only complaints was that the walls were a bit thin you can hear people talking or music being played if you’re close enough

Central to downtown, pleasant staff, good bathroom, and room layout. Negative was the second bed was a sofa couch which was terrible. Valet parking was a little high at $55, but they were very professional.

The first person I spoke with at the hotel was Robert, and he is just a wonderful person; from his welcoming voice over the phone to the beaming smile I received upon arrival, he was a pleasure to work with. I booked a King suite for my brother and I, which was very clean and well-appointed. I took the pull-out sofa, which was extremely uncomfortable, so the next night I tried to get it switched out, but that was probably not going to be different, so we switched to a new Double Queen room, which was nice and spacious, but did not have a proper desk and chair, or any other surface big enough to do things such as work on our laptops, or prepare meals. This is a huge oversight, which out to be corrected, unfortunately, the property manager, who was contacted, did not sound like he was at all interested in going to any lengths to resolve . No matter!! We made it work. My visit ended abruptly, when I had to call an ambulance for an emergency hospital visit. The front desk staff were very concerned and offered to help several times, including getting me some hot water. Overall, a great stay. The valet service is an added bonus, although there is alternative parking right across the street, it's nice not to have to walk the block, or so in heels. 😊

The staff was friendly and inviting. The hotel overall was clean and safe. Only thing I would say was a negative is that the valet was a little inconsistent; sometimes they would be there and sometimes they weren’t there. Two valets would solve the issue, but it was only a minor inconvenience.

Very nice hotel. Robert went above and beyond to make my stay exceptional! Will definitely be back!

DJ at check-in was amazing. He is very kind and professional! It was my daughter’s birthday so he gave us tips on how to get the stadium. Vallet guys were friendly and quick. Gave advice on getting to Mercederr

Overcharged me from original amount. Do not recommend. Was charged for water I didn’t use and most the staff was rude.

This is a great hotel!!! We loved staying here and it is very convenient to most things downtown. Jamon checked us in and he was so wonderful!! He gave us great dining suggestions, as well as things to do and places to see. I hope Marriott appreciates their employees at this hotel. They were very kind and helpful.

desk staff had no idea about rooms and services. No food. The cook was out all day. They did not clean nor inform me about cleaning of rooms so no cleaning was done for three days. Desk clerks were clueless

We ordered an ADA room, arrived at the hotel almost at midnight and they did not have an accessible room for us. We waited at the lobby for almost an hour for the staff to try and rectify this issue. In the end, there was no accessible room available and my husband which is in a wheelchair couldn’t take a shower and needed to wait till the next day afternoon so they will switch the rooms and he can shower. Definitely wouldn’t go there again

Hotel is in downtown and walkable to Centennial Park and Martin Luther King Center. Many restaurants in the area. Hotel staff was very helpful.

Other than the homeless people everywhere near the property it was great

Close to arena. And also Marta was next door to get to the airpoert.

Visiting family in the area, this is very convenient property in the middle of downtown Atlanta. The location is right next to Marta ( public transportation) which can be taken from Hartsfield -Jackson airport. Every staff person from check in to check out, extremely helpful.

Everything was great inside the building. However, metro and streets leading to all places did not feel very safe to me. I had to do a lot of walking to my meetings.

We had a good stay. Walking distance to State Farm Arena. Clean and comfortable. Staff was very nice.

We had a great stay, the staff was super friendly, and the Starbucks counter in the lobby was an extra bonus. I just thought it could’ve been a little more clean, like in the bathrooms.

This is a beautiful, clean, new, luxurious, safe hotel. It is in a safe neighborhood and is close to both Zoo Atlanta and the Georgia Aquarium. There are several restaurants 5–10 minutes, walking distance, including the Hard Rock Cafe. I didn’t like any of them. They currently only clean the rooms every other day. That’s fine, but I was not told that at check-in. I got a King Size room. Since I wastraveling solo, I did not want to be wasteful and get two Queen Size beds, even though it was th same price. There was barely any room on both sides of the bed which is fine. I am a travel blogger, and have experienced that all over the world. However, the door opened inward into the bathroom. So every time I walked into the bathroom I had to decide if I wanted the door handle or the sink to press into my stomach. And the toilet was so low to the ground. I had a hard time getting down and then back up. The restaurant is more like a bar that serves a few food items. I wouldn’t bother getting dinner there unless it’s raining or you just don’t have time to go to a restaurant. They don’t serve lunch. There are several great items on the breakfast menu including oatmeal, fruit, breakfast burritos, bagels, etc. There is no sign-up that gives the restaurant hours. The sign in the elevator incorrectly states that breakfast ends at 10 AM on weekdays and 11 AM on weekends. That is not correct and management is aware of it but has not change the sign yet.

We loved the staff and the clean modern rooms. proximity to where we were working was great too. Breakfast was really nice also

The property was quiet (not noisy); the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The coffee maker didn't work in the room; there were limited options for food with the hotel.

From the time I arrived the staff was kind and welcoming. I was quite early but was able to be accommodated with a similar room. The room was just as depicted on the website: clean, aesthetically pleasing, and spacious. Oddly, what I enjoyed most was the super hot water lol. The one thing that I didn’t care for was the lack of vending machines on my floor. Other than that, I enjoyed my stay!

Room I stayed in had a broken sliding door to the bathroom. I got stuck inside and that is unsafe. The AC was broken, the room was so hot. The cafe downstairs was never open or had no attendant. I had to wait 1 hour for valet to return my vehicle. My remote was not working. Front desk was notified and we did not get any solutions.
