Liked the rooftop bar/dining-good service. Friendly helpful staff.

I was looking for the Maine harbor experience and the Tuboat Inn delivered big time. The restaurant had great food.

This is a great place, right on the water, convenient to restaurants and harbor cruises. Nice bar upstairs outside overlooking the harbor. Parking is included so you can leave the car and it’s a 5 minute walk to the downtown shops and restaurants.

Hotel was older, but well maintained. Rooms were nothing special. Bathroom was small and dark. Best thing was the location--right on a pier looking out at the harbor. Was there in off-season, so bar and restaurant were closed, which was disappointing.

Enjoyed the tugboat inn very much. Beautiful views from the rooms we stayed in. The rooftop lounge, restaurant, and pub were nice. Enjoyed some live music one night in the pub which was a lot of fun.

Beautiful property on the water. Parking was a challenge and everything else was great.

Excellent location. It is an older hotel right on the harbor but in excellent shape. Our room had a balcony with a beautiful view of the harbor and the boats coming and going, shopping and restaurants all are within walking distance, upper floor access is only by stairs, parking is tight, hot tub has no privacy, and the laundry facility was expansive. Overall, it was wonderfully comfortable and an enjoyable experience. We will defiantly come back.

Loved being right on the water. Great view! Laundry facility on the property was convenient. Parking wasn’t easy. Confusing as to where to check in. Not right on the property. Couldn’t find an ice machine.

The tugboat in is a huge spread of different Hotel buildings. They all overlook Boothbay harbor. Our room was upstairs, with a balcony, gorgeous view, and quiet. The staff is very helpful, and they even had a washer dryer room for our laundry midway on our 3-week trip. The touristy downtown is just a walk away, with great restaurants and a boat dock, where we got on a ferry and went to Monhegan Island for the day.

The location was great. The room was adequate, but somewhat dated. No daily service of the room. No breakfast offered.

Overall we had a nice stay. The staff was very nice and the area and view are beautiful. The rooms are dated which is okay but it was the cleanliness of the room that put us off. The mirror had smudges all over it. The tub had a yellow rim around it and the drain was clogged so when you showered the water pooled up. The biggest thing was there was mold all over the shower liner. We only stayed for one night so it didn’t get to us but if we were there longer we might have said something. This is a great spot the rooms just need some work.

I’ve been staying at Tug boat inn for years. We stay out on the pier. Over all theses years the price keeps increasing and the only thing that. Has changed is the bed. The furniture is terrible the bathroom are dirty and. Know you don’t even get room service. Just to get clean towels you have to beg and they put them in a bad at your door. Twice they were taken by somebody else. I won’t be going back because there are other to stay on the harbor that are way better and cheaper.

Overall great location, cleanliness was about a 3, floors were not cleaned properly, you could see dust balls and bathroom shower could’ve been cleaner. The only complaint I had was cleanliness, room was not ready by 3pm as stated & we saw cars parked in lot that didn’t belong there making us have to park in lot where the restaurant was away from our room.

When I got in touch with Lucy at 7:00 am, she apologized & immediately worked on solving the problem, including thinking outside the box, since cleaners wouldn’t be arriving until a couple hours later. So someone needs to acknowledge that Lucy is a rockstar & the cleaning people need some training.

The only reason we don’t give all 5 stars is lack of room cleaning and resupplying towels, coffee etc. Was this a staffing shortage or general policy? Loved every thing else!

The property has beautiful views and is convenient to all of the shops. Unfortunately the cleanliness of the room was terrible. It had looked as if only the bed was made. From the toilet, to the dust in the room was pretty gross. There was no time to ask for another room, as we were rushing to get to a wedding.

It was in a good area but the room itself was just so old and felt dirty, the carpet was disgustingly filthy and looked like it had probably never been cleaned. I wanted to love it because there was a nice view but we couldn’t wait to get out of there in the morning.

We parked the car walked everywhere. Lots of restaurants and shops close by. The room was small but the great views right on the bay made up for it.

We loved the location of The Tugboat Inn - our room was on the pier over the water. We found the room to be dated - furniture had nicks, the pictures on the walls were faded and dreary, the carpet had seen better days, and the toilet made awful noises and we discovered that the water supply was almost completely shut off and it wasn't filling up properly. Just seems like things could be updated to make the room cheerier and more up-to-date.

Everything looked just like the pictures and the description. Actually the view of the water was even more amazing. However keep in mind that Room 122 is directly above the bar lounge, The music stopped at 9:30pm, no biggie for me, I go to sleep later

We had the end room on the pier and loved the view. Room was small but very clean. Bed was comfy. There's not enough parking for all the rooms so get there early.

The staff fell to tell us the heater was also the a/c. During the night when I was looking for cooling the control said heater control. Parking is a problem and check-in is not located at the property. It was time consuming checking in and getting to the property. Food in the restaurant was very good. Knowing what to expect, I would do it again.

Tugboat is located right on Boothbay Harbor, conveniently near shops and restaurants. The room smelled moldy and the ac did not work properly. Curtains covered the opening to the vent so air was not able to circulate. I did mention this to front desk as a suggestion, they quickly blamed it on oc the proximity to the ocean. Rooms and property were dated. Hasn’t seemed to have been updated in 20 years. Beds were comfortable. Worse complaint is that the AC had a hard time cooling down the room even though it got down to low 60s at night. System ran non stop the entire night. Quite loud as well.

The location was perfect, close to restaurants etc. the restaurants in Boothbay were fantastic The rooms are in need of major renovations Rooms are very outdated, the carpet in my room was old and smelly. The view from my room was breathtaking, my windows faced the water. Unfortunately I could not open my windows because the windows were broken and had no screens

Check-in process was a little confusing, including going to another property to actually check in. And the rooftop bar service was not good. Wait staff did not listen.

Great front desk!

Reserved a room for two nights December 27-28. There was no heat in the room. Desk is not manned after 9 pm. In the morning, notified the desk and maintenance confirmed that there was no heat. It was after noon day two before we were moved to a room with heat. It was below 30 degrees the first night. A refund was requested and we were told to request a refund from Expedia. My card was charged for the second night at check-in. Heat is expected in December in Maine. What is my recourse?

The ladies from the office were so lovely. We had to call for late check in and had a little mishap at check out. I wish we had gotten her name. she was the more mature woman who was so sweet & gracious. We cannot wait to return Boothbay for a stay!

We booked the Tugboat in at the last minute for a weekend in Boothbay Harbor. We checked in at their sister inn just down the street at 1:00pm with a warm and friendly staff member, and we received a valuable parking pass to park in the lot right next to our room we could use immediately (parking downtown in harbor area is tight so this was great). Right on the harbor, but clearly not the best location compared to other rooms, we were very happy with condition and cleanliness of the room. Recently painted, new floors, clean and well equipped bathroom and comfortable beds. Quiet but steps from all the restaurants, cruises and great fun. Will definitely return.

We wanted to love our stay. The location is amazing and within walking distance to everything you need in the cute downtown. The restaurant is decent and convenient. The rooms were only ok - need updating. For $300+ a night, there were several key things lacking for us. Upon arrival, we pulled up to the office to check in, as we hadn’t been notified to do otherwise. But you actually have to check in at a completely different hotel 2 blocks away. One way road, so we had to walk down and figure it all out. Then, they don’t clean your room each day. You have to call for any supplies you need. So our room wasn’t touched up at all during our 3 nights. The nail in the coffin was they had an ice delivery truck blocking the one entrance and exit to the parking lot for 20 minutes. We were trying to leave and asked them to move, they wouldn’t and were quite rude. We then asked the office staff if they could ask the truck to move, and they wouldn’t. Said it was “just the way it is with their one way entrance”. We were really surprised they wouldn't do anything about their entire parking area being blocked for 20 minutes despite their customers trying to get in and out. We ended up being late for meeting up with people. All these things left us feeling ultimately uncared for as customers, especially for such a highly priced room.

The experience at the Tugboat Inn was excellent from the start. The woman who checked us in was very friendly and informative; the room had a lovely view, and the bed was comfortable. All positive.

Quaint location on the water, easy to find. Wish we had stayed a couple more days

Easy walk to great shops, restaurants, boat tours. Nice water view. Many motels lead you to believe from their name that they are on the water but this place really is. Only negative was having to go to a location about a block away to check in. We missed the small sign as we passed it alerting us of that information. The Inn had sent an e-mail to alert us as well but I did not open it before our arrival thinking it was just a booking confirmation. Maine does not have street numbers on their stores/businesses in most cases so it is tough to find addresses. I’d stay at thr Tugboat Inn again in a heartbeat. Boothbay Harbor was our favorite place in Maine.

The location is excellant as it is close to everything including the footbridge, shops, and restaurants. Room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. Would definitely return.

Property was right on the harbor and you could sit on the front porch and watch the boats in the harbor. Inn was in walkable distance to restaurants and stores.

We really enjoyed the hotel and right downtown on the water. We dined in their restaurant that evening and it was excellent. We had the lobster tail out of the tail with 2 sides. Wonderful food and friendly staff.

We enjoyed our stay in Boothbay Harbor. Tugboat was walking distance to everything and the view was great for relaxing! Parking pass made spending time in the waterfront convenient. Food on the rooftop was excellent!

This place is a gem. The Tug Boat restaurant is outstanding. Came to celebrate wife’s Birthday. We will definitely be back again.

A bit pricey for the room but it is high summer season! Restaurant attached was very good and convenient. Loved Greg the bartender!

The rooms were adequate and clean. Know that there is no cleaning service if you like that. We were only here 2 nights so we didn’t mind. Now the bad news: the food in the restaurant was just awful. We had dinner, lobster bisque was very good and we were hopeful, but we all 4 had the broiled seafood plate and it was truly atrocious. Lobster was inedibly overcooked, and scallops, shrimp and fish were completely tasteless. Stay here but don’t eat here.

Definitely overpriced for what we received. Rented a king with a view just under $200 per night. Room was very small, an average motel room, recently redone and cute, if you don't look too closely at the shoddy craftsmanship. Restaurant wasn't open for the season yet, so no food. I'm assuming they would serve breakfast, but I don't know. A continental breakfast option would have been nice for the price and since they weren't serving food. The ocean view is a bit misleading. It's a view of the marina and marinas only look nice from a distance. You can't really see open ocean. Early checkout, 10am, felt rushed. Never found the hot tub. An 11am checkout time would have given us time to enjoy it. We both woke up awful sore from the mattress and would have been thankful for it. Woke up with 3 bug bites on face and back... not sure from where. Wife hadn't received any. No signs of the dreaded bedbugs in my cursory examination. Though I did find a water bottle and other trash from a previous guest behind the side table and under the bed. Just bagged our clothes in plastic and took extra hot showers. All in all, it wasn't a terrible stay, just not what we expected from a $200/night room. With the limited amenities, it was a $110-120/night experience at best.

Great location on the water and in town Great meal at the restaurant. 3 bars- rooftop bar has the best view in Boothbay Harbor. Older hotel with simple rooms but clean and reasonably updated. Would stay again.

The room had all we needed. Coffee maker, fridge , tv, microwave. Area was quiet, walkable to shops, .our room was first floor facing the harbor. I made reservations in September. The view was beautiful at nite and first thing in the AM. We will definitely be back next year. The restaurant was great also
