Great property close to a beautiful beach. Beach chairs available from the resort. Only downside is there was only 1elevator in the lobby area and none that went to our room on the 3rd floor or to the parking area. We asked if we could be moved to a lower floor and they refused and didn’t give an explanation. This doesn’t usually bother me but we were travelling with 3 kids under 5 and had our stroller wagon which we had to carry up and down the stairs which wasn’t convenient. So if you need an accessible hotel I would maybe look elsewhere.

What a great resort! Nice decor, open design, friendly staff, great food, great complimentary amenities, & right by the beach! We opted for the all-inclusive option for our family of 4 & it was totally worth it! Our room was spacious with a kitchenette area that included a full size fridge. Their complimentary amenities include kayaks, paddle boards, boogie boards, bicycles, & FAMILY BOARD GAMES. We also loved the family center with pool tables, ping pong, & a small theater. The staff really makes you feel like you’re home.

Overall a good property, it is off season so most of the activities or special dining option canceled as not enough guest. The staff super friendly and very accommodating to my dad that has mobility issues. The beach is across the street from the property and you will need to rent chairs or bring your own when laying out or sitting at the beach Outside the resort very walkable area with some restaurant and shops. The rooms you could keep the temperature cool as I like a cold room for sleeping. The unlimited drinks and food were a good value again since off season the food choices after a few days were repetitive. The pool area is great with swim up bar.

I enjoyed my short stay here. For all inclusive the food was good and lots of options for a smaller resort. It surprised me that at the pool no service was offered. Only when I went to the bar did I receive any service. Why no one served me around the pool area I have no idea.

There is NO nightlife at this resort. This is a place you go to strictly eat and rest outside of that NOTHING is going on. The gym is horrible some machines and equipment didn’t work or were broken. The bathroom needs updating. The shower head is stationary and old. They still use shower curtains. Food and drinks were good. Facility was very clean. More resort activities needed on the premise.

The location was amazing, just by the beautiful flamingo beach. We could watch the sunset every day. We enjoyed everything! Friend of staff, very clean rooms, gym with a magical view and good breakfast.

Some of the staff was extremely nice went above and beyond, the other half were just rude. the pool is kind of gross it was always cloudy I would always see food floating around despite their efforts in cleaning the pool morning and night. only good thing is that the pool never closes

We weren’t sure what to expect, but it was a perfect location. The beach was really fun, clean and quiet! We had a rental car and went out exploring other beaches both north and south, but Flamingo was the best for hanging out and playing in the waves with the boogie board. Surfing at Tamarindo was fun but the beach itself was very busy. Margaritaville was an easy enough drive from the airport and the national park to go hike the waterfalls and volcano. If you drive yourself, be aware route 911 has a washout and you will have to drive through a small bit of riverbed. It sounds worse than it is, plenty of sedans made it through. It was dark when we first encountered it but once we drove it in the daylight it was no big deal. Traffic can be intense from 4-7 pm on the roads coming in and out of town. If you like setting your own schedule and exploring independently, definitely rent a car. Parking is free at Margaritaville! The staff was lovely, rooms very clean and loved being walking distance to numerous restaurants. Overall it was a great place to stay for our first trip to Costa Rica.

The resort was extremely clean and beautiful. The beach was pristine, smooth, unforgettable. The sunsets are brilliant. Our room was spotless everyday, amazing towel animals on the bed; a very nice touch. Wonderful staff. Breakfast staff were so friendly- Rodolfo, Andy, Paulino, Douglas. Jose and Priscilla doing the rec activities were great. Nadesca serving on the deck was very sweet. Jessica at the spa did a lovely hot stone massage. Elliot picked us up from a restaurant when it was dark! Flower got us a round trip uber on her phone that was reliable and reasonable to go to Conshell beach at the last minute on our last day. Everyone was super, even the security was friendly. Close to the resort is the marina and lots of places to eat. We felt totally safe and it was a wonderful place to relax and unwind. Highly recommend!

When you go on a vacation you want it to be more than a place you could visit close to home. Overall stay was just ok. For instance. Paying all inclusive. We had 4 people in a room we got 1 wash cloth everyday an 2 waters. Had problems getting service the pool bar a the 5 a clock somewhere eating area. I seen a drink get spilled by the pool early one day an was still there when we went out for dinner. I asked on one occasion to speak to a manager an said the would see if one was available. Waiting for a few told the over mind a they took my room number. I was never contacted one the issue. I don’t want to say this is a bad place just needs better management. I myself will probably not come back to this area. Not a lot to due. Excursions are 2 to 2.5 hours one way. Most roads are very rough for travel to. Airport is small. No problem getting a ride to hotel. We was told to be back at airport 3 hours early. Good thing. Short line check in. Long line through security. 2.5 hours from check in to plane. My rating on my trip all together 6 out of 10.

This property was kept spotless! The people working on property were absolutely amazing! They were kind, helpful, and genuine. We ate on property most meals and enjoyed all of them immensely. The resort is small and quaint and felt very much like a large family with a wonderful beach to walk on adjacent to the property and a large pool with swim up bar to cool down in. Can’t wait to go back!

The pool area was nice and the proximity to the beach is excellent. The breakfast included with our plan was very good. All interactions with the staff were wonderful. Unfortunately, they do not clean shared areas as often as they should. The pool deck tables were sticky and not cleaned as well as areas of the concrete that were dirty and not cleaned at all during the 8 days we were there. Hallway stairs had dirt and spots where things had dripped for days. Windows in our rooms were filthy and no longer have locks on them. Electricity went on and off and when I woke up one night there was no running water at any of the faucets or the toilet. With proper maintenance it could still be a nice resort but it seems they are just letting it go. We've stayed at this resort in the past and it was noticeably more rundown this time.

The staff we encountered were all awesome. Whether the front desk, the concierge, restaurants, or maintenance. Everyone was very friendly and professional. Check in was simple and quick. The concierge staff expertly setup some amazing experiences. The proximity to the marina for additional amenities is awesome as well. The only thing keeping the experience from being five stars is our room TV never worked the entire time we were there, not a huge issue, but we had maintenance try to repair the TV on three different days, and we finally gave up.

Absolutely loved Margaritaville!!!! The resort is beautiful, the beach is amazing, and the swim up bar is the best!!! We spent 4 nights here and had amazing time. We played tennis in the evenings, the game room was a super fun way for my family to have some friendly ping pong tournaments and the rooms were very nice, Only negative thing i would say is the double beds are not big enough for 2 adults.

The only problem I had and it was a big one, when we checked into the hotel, I asked if they were full, they said they 10 rooms left, I asked please give me the best one you have left. They have a known problem with a compressor/ air conditioning unit that makes a loud sound all night. and they put us right next door to compressor. We were awakened all night. not very happy. we went down in the morning and they moved us to another room, they are very aware of this issue with the noise. I would like half of my money back for one night

I liked the property’s closeness to the beach and to the marina. Dislikes - bed size in the room, dated shower, low water pressure. Limited food choices, 1 pool and no hot tub, limited activities for the kids onsite, all inclusive included bottom of the barrel drinks, and hotel refused refund after I got sick with food poisoning and elected to shorten my trip as a result.

The wait staff at the bars and restaurants was excellent - very friendly and personable. The property location on Flamingo beach is outstanding - one of the most beautiful, swimmable, beaches in the area. The resort is well managed and maintained. However, the rooms need maintenance and upgrades to sustain the pricing. Our Junior Family suite was well equipped but had dirty windows overlooking the parking lot. The bathroom fixtures had the finish worn off with miss-matched tile colors and almost no water pressure in the shower. However, the bedding and AC were top of the line. We traveled without children, but they have a large kiddie pool completely shaded by a palapa with plenty of pool toys, and a newer playground set. The pool stays open into the evening with soft music, allowing for a peaceful evening swim before heading to the “5 O’clock Somewhere” bar or one of three on-site locations for dinner. Overall, our experience was very good - but upgraded bathrooms and some attention to the areas seen by half the guests (parking lot) could make the property Excellent!

The room was dated. They do not seem to be keeping up with maintenance or refreshing the rooms. Water damage was apparent in the bathroom. The tub was not level resulting in water runoff from the front and back onto the bathroom floor. The gym was nice but it too was old with non working or excessive wear and tear on the aerobic equipment.

The resort was extremely clean and beautiful. The beach was pristine, smooth, unforgettable. The sunsets are brilliant. Our room was spotless everyday, amazing towel animals on the bed; a very nice touch. Wonderful staff. Breakfast staff were so friendly- Rodolfo, Andy, Paulino, Douglas. Jose and Priscilla doing the rec activities were great. Nadesca serving on the deck was very sweet. Jessica at the spa did a lovely hot stone massage. Elliot picked us up from a restaurant when it was dark! Flower got us a round trip uber on her phone that was reliable and reasonable to go to Conshell beach at the last minute on our last day. Everyone was super, even the security was friendly. Close to the resort is the marina and lots of places to eat. We felt totally safe and it was a wonderful place to relax and unwind. Highly recommend!

The front desk people really lacked the customer service skills required for first time visitors to a resort. They barely spoke English which was challenging, but also didn’t share details of where we could find basic amenities. They also left us waiting for 3 hours for a room. Understood that check in was at 3, but they could have done better to show us around and place us in a comfortable place while we waited for them to take EVERY MINUTE to finish our room.

I stayed at Margaritaville in Costa Rica for a full week and overall had an amazing experience. The staff was incredibly friendly from the moment we arrived. I chose the all-inclusive package and did excursions every other day, so I was only on the resort about half of the time. Even with that, I will say the food did get a bit repetitive. It was very catered toward American tastes and didn’t change much throughout the week — that would be my only real downside. Aside from that, everything else was wonderful. The service truly stood out. At the swim-up bar, Elias went above and beyond for my kids, who kept ordering virgin margaritas. He even gave my three-year-old a tiny cup that was absolutely adorable. He was so friendly and patient — I couldn’t have asked for better service. The hotel itself was very clean. Housekeeping came every day, so I never had to worry about a thing. At the 5 O’Clock Somewhere Bar, Fiona, Nadezca, Steicy, Melvin, Marvin, and Gabriel provided excellent service as well. Overall, Margaritaville delivered a fun, relaxing vacation with exceptional staff. I would definitely recommend it, especially for families.

We enjoyed Margraritaville Beach Resort Playa Flamingo in Costa Rica, the resort was clean, pool was awesome, beautiful beach, the restaurants and food were good. All the staff were friendly and helpful, especially Fiona and Wendolyn along with the guys cooking the meals at the Capriccios Pizza Bistro and Cafe they made our meals there so much fun as we ate there five evenings, we will definitely miss them. Also Flowor Soto the concierge was so friendly and helpful. We had a great 2 weeks of vacation and would definitely return.

Our overall stay was absolutely amazing. We planned the trip for rest and relaxation and we got exactly that! Our room was super clean, housekeeping came in every day and made our bed and refreshed our towels. The food variety was really good. Each of the bar/cafe/restaurants had different menus so there was no option of getting tired of the food. The bar staff at the pool bar was excellent, Elias made a point to be super helpful and even gave us waters to take on the trip to the airport. The one night we booked a reservation to eat at Capriccio's, that was not a good experience, we should have just gotten take out. The pizza was delicious, the pasta not so great, and our service was terrible. We sat down at 7:30 for our reservation and ordered drinks immediately, our appetizer and food was delivered before we even got water. We asked for water while we waited for our drinks to have with our food. By 8:45 my husband finally got his martini, I still did not get my wine, we had to ask several times. My husband asked for the cheesecake for dessert, he got another martini.... It was not busy in there. We finally checked out at 9:30 and went to the 5 o'clock bar for him to get dessert and another drink. Other than that experience the rest of the stay was a DREAM! My cousin and I took a tour of the spa, that looked amazing and super relaxing. I would absolutely book another stay here at Margaritaville!!!

We weren’t sure what to expect, but it was a perfect location. The beach was really fun, clean and quiet! We had a rental car and went out exploring other beaches both north and south, but Flamingo was the best for hanging out and playing in the waves with the boogie board. Surfing at Tamarindo was fun but the beach itself was very busy. Margaritaville was an easy enough drive from the airport and the national park to go hike the waterfalls and volcano. If you drive yourself, be aware route 911 has a washout and you will have to drive through a small bit of riverbed. It sounds worse than it is, plenty of sedans made it through. It was dark when we first encountered it but once we drove it in the daylight it was no big deal. Traffic can be intense from 4-7 pm on the roads coming in and out of town. If you like setting your own schedule and exploring independently, definitely rent a car. Parking is free at Margaritaville! The staff was lovely, rooms very clean and loved being walking distance to numerous restaurants. Overall it was a great place to stay for our first trip to Costa Rica.

Location is amazing, right across the street from beautiful Playa Flamingo Beach. All of the staff we encountered were friendly and welcoming. The cleaning and landscaping staff did an excellent job of keeping the hotel clean and beautiful. Breakfast was Del and there were many options to choose from. Tips: a lot of items are very expensive in Costa Rica so bring a refillable water bottle, sunscreen, toiletries, etc. to avoid additional costs. We appreciated that the hotel had multiple water stations to fill up our water bottles.

Overall a good property, it is off season so most of the activities or special dining option canceled as not enough guest. The staff super friendly and very accommodating to my dad that has mobility issues. The beach is across the street from the property and you will need to rent chairs or bring your own when laying out or sitting at the beach Outside the resort very walkable area with some restaurant and shops. The rooms you could keep the temperature cool as I like a cold room for sleeping. The unlimited drinks and food were a good value again since off season the food choices after a few days were repetitive. The pool area is great with swim up bar.

This hotel was super family friendly. So much to do for the kids including the pool, on site volleyball and a clean, close beach. Food was great. The location was the only downside. The roads to get there were not good and it took a long time to get to what looked like nearby attractions.

Elias at the License to Chill bar knows his stuff and is very sociable. The grounds were kept nice and pool was clean. Always a place to sit around the pool. Cons: did not have 3 pools as advertised. The beach is across the road. Food was decent but have had better. Needs more options. Some staff was very knowledgeable about things and some weren't. Overall decent Margaritaville. Not sure if we would go back.

I stayed at Margaritaville in Costa Rica for a full week and overall had an amazing experience. The staff was incredibly friendly from the moment we arrived. I chose the all-inclusive package and did excursions every other day, so I was only on the resort about half of the time. Even with that, I will say the food did get a bit repetitive. It was very catered toward American tastes and didn’t change much throughout the week — that would be my only real downside. Aside from that, everything else was wonderful. The Margaritaville at Playa Flamingo is a great resort. Good for both couples and families. Staff and service are amazing! My only negative comment would be about the food options. If you choose all inclusive, it can feel a bit repetitive. The Italian restaurant onsite is very good and this helps. Overall, I do recommend staying at this resort.

Our overall stay was absolutely amazing. We planned the trip for rest and relaxation and we got exactly that! Our room was super clean, housekeeping came in every day and made our bed and refreshed our towels. The food variety was really good. Each of the bar/cafe/restaurants had different menus so there was no option of getting tired of the food. The bar staff at the pool bar was excellent, Elias made a point to be super helpful and even gave us waters to take on the trip to the airport. The one night we booked a reservation to eat at Capriccio's, that was not a good experience, we should have just gotten take out. The pizza was delicious, the pasta not so great, and our service was terrible. We sat down at 7:30 for our reservation and ordered drinks immediately, our appetizer and food was delivered before we even got water. We asked for water while we waited for our drinks to have with our food. By 8:45 my husband finally got his martini, I still did not get my wine, we had to ask several times. My husband asked for the cheesecake for dessert, he got another martini.... It was not busy in there. We finally checked out at 9:30 and went to the 5 o'clock bar for him to get dessert and another drink. Other than that experience the rest of the stay was a DREAM! My cousin and I took a tour of the spa, that looked amazing and super relaxing. I would absolutely book another stay here at Margaritaville!!!

I felt like the dining options were minimal. Drinking package did not have drinks available until 10 am (no morning mimosa’s!) This is more family friendly with a lot of young children around. The staff are ALL amazing!

Great location on the beach and with a great pool! The hotel is updated and modern, has a gift shop & restaurants on site, and is walking distance to a number of great restaurants, stores, and the marina. The AC works great! We thought it was a great value!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay here and are already planning to come back next year! The resort exceeded our expectations in so many ways. Everything was extremely clean, neat, and very well maintained. The rooms were spacious, conveniently located, and comfortable, which made traveling with kids so much easier. We traveled as three families with children ages 6, 7, and 8, and we always felt extremely safe and comfortable throughout the entire stay. The kiddie pool area was fantastic, especially the shaded covered section where parents could comfortably sit and watch the kids even during the hottest parts of the day. The main pool was also beautiful and relaxing. Another pleasant surprise was the food. We genuinely enjoyed everything we ate. Yes, there is a buffet, which naturally repeats some dishes throughout the week, but they also have menu options that were excellent. The Eggs Benedict were wonderful, and the cheeseburgers were honestly incredible. The location is amazing - literally right across the small dirt road from the beach. The waves were stronger than we expected, so we watched the kids carefully, but they still had an amazing time. The service was outstanding. Scott, the regional director, was constantly checking on guests and making sure everyone was comfortable and having fun. Overall, we truly had an amazing experience and highly recommend this resort for families!
