A real mix of ok and could do better.. Lovely chap on reception who gave a overview of Dorset and sandbanks. The room had a few issues TV remote missing No towels Window opens fully to a flat roof with staircase so not secure But Beds were ok and room was warm but it was the hottest day of the year Shower leaked Plugs had a smell of drains It was a good location and parking was free It worked for one night as a cheap stay over.

Our room was a nice size for 3 of us, the beds had random feet on them, pieces of wood glued together.. little things 1 toilet roll , the tv didnt work, the shower doors we falling off, no shower gel ; etc provided, the toilet seat was loose and kept moving, the sink was dirty under the rim..no matching furniture in the room, under the cabinets dirty found a random piece of wood, only 2 cups when 3 off us stayed, so not enough tea , coffee etc..a old mattress, and other rubbish left at the back of the carpark, in full view..the fire exit door was very hard to open, used for a smoking area..people unfortunately moaning about their stay in reception, when we arrived and left .

When checking into the hotel we were made aware the bar and the restaurant were both shut. The room was disgustingly dirty, with splashes of something all up the walls and the floors clearly hadn't been cleaned in months. In the middle of the night, we were woken by a man barging into the room to 'check the smoke alarm' woke both kids up and with no apology at all! The general condition of the property was awful and we would not be staying again.

Outdated, rude, no proper parking, fire alarm kepy going off, very noisy, no sign of a bar, the desk worker, walked in our room without knockin, didnt speak apology or anything, just walked in looked round and out again, my kids with special needs didnt feel safe staying we left very early thay morning and didn't stay for our second night, not recommend at all stay away no offer of a refund either

The room was a good size. The pillow cases had marks/stains on them so slept in the other double bed. The tv wasn’t working, and shower was very small. The wardrobe was decent size but if your staying a few days to a week more hangers for you clothes would’ve been better. My room was on the top floor which was around 2-3 flights of stairs so carrying my suitcase up those was tough, there was a lift but wasn’t working.

Good location. No restaurant in the hotel. Reception was closed when we arrived (we were early, but worried about parking before we checked in). Rooms were okay, but the furniture was a bit "tired". Probably just about value for money considering a last minute booking in August at a decent location in Bournemouth.

The Kensington states it is a no frills hotel, after reading some reviews I was cautious and took my own bedding and towels, but these were not needed. 😊 We were greeted by a very friendly host and the reception was clean and comfortable. Our room wasn't quite ready, but our host entertained us with his knowledge of the history of Dorset. 🙂 Our room was freshly cleaned and the bedlinen and towels had been laundered but did have slight marks and evidence of nail varnish marks. But this didn't worry us. We didn't see much of our host or other staff throughout our stay as the reception isn't covered much. This didn't cause any issues for us. 🙂 We stayed for a full week and enjoyed our stay. 🙂 We would return!

The room we were given was completely different from the one advertised. It was in extremely poor condition — dirty, unpleasantly smelly, and poorly ventilated with only a very small window and a single small fan, which was inadequate for four people. The mattresses were uncomfortable, and the overall condition of the room was unacceptable, with exposed electrical wiring visible on the walls. The bathroom was also in disrepair, with a broken door handle and a blocked shower drain. Additionally, rubbish was left on the stairs outside the hotel entrance, and during the late evening, individuals were seen rummaging through it. This created a sense of insecurity and made us feel unsafe during our stay.

The room is not the same as the one advertised on their website. The TV was broken, the room was dirty (I found receipts from June this year, snack bags under the furniture, the beds were on bricks, mould in places, not very clean bed linen, the walls were dirty, expired milk). We do not recommend this location!

Where shall i start... i read the reviews on Expedia when booking and thought the place looked okay for a one night stay. Upon our arrival we got a half hour history lesson that was well intended but after 8 hours on the road our bladders were ready to burst. The host didnt seem to notice that we all had heavy bags and were tired. Our room was in the basement . The first inspection of it was decent. Two double beds and a single. Turns out that the reviews on google were more accurate than expedia. The single bed ended up being a box spring with beddjng on it. The double beds were awful, mine was collapsing on one side. The thin excuses for pillows left us with sore necks. We had to ask for more towels. One was provided and there were four of us booked in. We were handed an extra towel and another bath mat. So two towels for four people... thanks. Doesnt look like we were bitten by any bed bugs thank goodness... i do not recommend this place.

The rooms are dirty, there is no hand sanitizer, they wrote online that there is breakfast and they charge you, but they didn’t have it. The quality of the rooms is very low. The sounds of other rooms come into your room and you can’t sleep. . . . . . . . . . . . .

The room was a good size. The pillow cases had marks/stains on them so slept in the other double bed. The tv wasn’t working, and shower was very small. The wardrobe was decent size but if your staying a few days to a week more hangers for you clothes would’ve been better. My room was on the top floor which was around 2-3 flights of stairs so carrying my suitcase up those was tough, there was a lift but wasn’t working.

The Kensington states it is a no frills hotel, after reading some reviews I was cautious and took my own bedding and towels, but these were not needed. 😊 We were greeted by a very friendly host and the reception was clean and comfortable. Our room wasn't quite ready, but our host entertained us with his knowledge of the history of Dorset. 🙂 Our room was freshly cleaned and the bedlinen and towels had been laundered but did have slight marks and evidence of nail varnish marks. But this didn't worry us. We didn't see much of our host or other staff throughout our stay as the reception isn't covered much. This didn't cause any issues for us. 🙂 We stayed for a full week and enjoyed our stay. 🙂 We would return!

The room had a few issues TV remote missing No towels Window opens fully to a flat roof with staircase so not secure But Beds were ok and room was warm but it was the hottest day of the year Shower leaked Plugs had a smell of drains It was a good location and parking was free It worked for one night as a cheap stay over.

Host is very pleasant, has a wealth of local knowledge. The room was a good size for a family. Wifi worked well. The cleaning can be improved by ensuring the floor is swept of sand (probably left by previous guest) and the kettle and cups could do with a scrub.

When checking into the hotel we were made aware the bar and the restaurant were both shut. The room was disgustingly dirty, with splashes of something all up the walls and the floors clearly hadn't been cleaned in months. In the middle of the night, we were woken by a man barging into the room to 'check the smoke alarm' woke both kids up and with no apology at all! The general condition of the property was awful and we would not be staying again.

Outdated, rude, no proper parking, fire alarm kepy going off, very noisy, no sign of a bar, the desk worker, walked in our room without knockin, didnt speak apology or anything, just walked in looked round and out again, my kids with special needs didnt feel safe staying we left very early thay morning and didn't stay for our second night, not recommend at all stay away no offer of a refund either

We see the reviews and really took a risk as there was not many good ones.when we arrived the hotel does look a little tired it needs a little love and attention to detail but we was pleasantly surprised with our room it was airy and clean and that was our main concern.also we got a up grade so that was a bonus for the price you can’t go wrong tbf everything is near so that’s always a bonus 👍

I stayed here for a week and it was a lovely room the bed was so comfortable and when I had a small issue a really nice man came and helped me solve it very quickly and he was very polite. It was in walking distance to the beach and shops so I didn’t have to waste money on Ubers so I was happy with that and I can’t wait to book my next stay with them.

Wen on arrival we were greeted a young lovley Chinese lady took us to our room 105 bedroom was nice but wen looked bathroom mould on tiles and bottom off shower so had be moved into a better room so we were happy only thing I didant like was no breakfast there as wen booked say breakfast there was a lovley lady who was in hotell blondish hair she was kind and lovley but really enjoyed staying in hotell as it was lovley

The room was clean and tidy . I was told that I had to pay £10 for parking which was a surprise I was not aware of . There was only tea and on coffee in the room There was also a lot of shouting and noise from the other room . I don't think I will be staying there again

The floor in the room needing a good clean The heating only comes off at 6pm - 9pm during the cold days you have to go out. The duvet was in very poor condition. Badly stained and grubby. Felt uncomfortable sleeping under it, even though the cover was clean.
