Moulin Wakefield Mill Hotel & Spa

The swimming pool and hot tub by the Eco River Lodge was marvellously surrounded by vegetation, flowers, bushes, trees, birds that makes it very peaceful and relaxing. The 9 am to 11 pm schedule is very good.

Beautiful and close to charming town of Wakefield. Advertised as a spa, however, the hot-tub and sauna were lukewarm and the former's jets were broken. My wife asked for a fan to help her sleep and the staff didn’t know where one could be found. Other than the last two negatives, everything else was first class.

Had a wonderful stay. The property is very nice. We took advantage of the spa services and the pool. In the summer the pools get very busy so you need to ensure to get there early. Ate dinner and breakfast at the restaurants and all meals were great. Wonderful relaxing hotel to visit for a perfect weekend getaway.

Loved this property, waterfall is the show stopper for sure but so many other amazing little details all around the property. Hot tub as night facing the back light falls with the crackling of the camp fire going was beyond wonderful, also sleeping with the window cracked open to hear the waterfall all night, slept so sound. Chris the grounds man was amazing, lit the fire for us, checked on us and even brought out blankets. We will definitely be back.

À notre arrivée dans ce cadre bucolique, quel n'est pas notre surprise de découvrir qu'il n'y a pas de stationnement attitré pour les résidents de l'hotel. Premier arrivé, premier servi et les places sont limités. L'entrée est simple et l'hotesse d'accueil est professionnelle sans plus. Pas d'explication de la part de celle-ci sur la localisation de notre chambre. Par chance, notre chambre était magnifique. Située dans le vieux moulin lui même avec une vue des chutes en contre-bas. Petite, vieille mais réellement Cozy. Certains diront que les deux tables de chevets sont un atout supplémentaire. Le lit est très confortable. Salle de bain complète avec crochets. L'hotel offre aussi un service de savon, shampooing...etc, dans des bouteilles de verre. Une douce odeur de pommes et herbes, de la marque BioPhil, une belle surprise Québécoise. Le réfrégérateur est rempli de bières et de vins. Un petit panier de chocolats et noix vous est proposé moyennant un certain montant. Le site quand à lui est magnifique, le bruit des chutes est apaisant. Plusieurs promontoires sont proposés pour pouvoir relaxer et profiter du calme de l'endroit. La piscine vous permet de relaxer et l'hotel offre massage et spa, à vous de choisirs. Le soir nous avons essayé le Bistro Héron, ambiance, cocktail magnifique et délicieux. Pour la nourriture c'est bon, mais pas de wow. Pour les desserts, mieux de s'abstenir, le prix est indécent, pour rien d'extraordinaire.

The property need signs and should have a pool open,one of the hot tub or jacuzzi was not open and I had to walk to the other property in the cold to access to one that it not has a entrance that you can find easily, and I went to celebrate my anniversary and they don even leave a paper saying something and I told them at the time for the booking that I was celebrating.

We stayed here for 2 nights. The hotel is very nicely looking, the rooms were nice. We had some bugs in the room (bathroom) but this is understandable with the forest right around the corner. The pool & jacuzzi were nice, during our stay they were pretty empty so that was nice. My primary complain would be parking. There is parking near the hotel and I swear that Bull wasn’t guests. So parking under some bushes god knows where wasn’t cool. Otherwise everything else was fine. The TV has channels but stuff like music whatever were glitchy / buffering. Didn’t use WiFi, not sure if there was one as it was never brought up, but we weren’t there for TV or WiFi just sharing experience. The bars in the town are very nice. I would suggest going to places where people are, the nearby coffee place while pricey was super good. Overall we had great time. The rooms where clean other then having to kill bugs but again forest nearby so kind of a given.

From our arrival parking was easy and early checkin was a breeze. Our room was on the fourth floor which meant taking the elevator to the third and then stairs to the fourth, not an issue for us as we don’t have mobility issues. The grounds were immaculately kept and there were several lit fire pits upon our arrival, great for sitting with a coffee/cocktail and enjoying the sound of the falls. The hot-tub offered excellent views day or night. Our dinner at the bistro was excellent, limited options but excellent. The games area was phenomenal, velvet couches, stone double sided wood burning fireplace capped off the ambiance.

not aware it was under construction No clean mugs for tea in the spa service waiting area. Food was delicious This place has good potential but we were disappointed that it did not give us a relaxing pampered spa feel

Comfortable bed, nice room in Eco-River lodge with patio however it’s not sound proof. You can hear the guests upstairs walking, moving chairs etc; I Was woken up at 2 am by the noise. Reception apologized and suggested next time I take a room upstairs not to be disturbed. But that means no patio. I had to ask twice for face cloths and one of the drawers was broken and they were not able to fix it. Otherwise a good place. Would return. I think they need more patio umbrellas though at the pool as some chairs are in full sun all day long. I was there during the heatwave and additional umbrellas would have been appreciated. I really liked that it’s a short walk to the water where additional restaurants and cafes are located. There are also cute little boutiques, bakeries and a general store. Nice pathway to walk or bike along the water. Love the area.

The property is actually in Gatineau park and has loads of hiking trails just out the front door. It’s very quiet and peaceful and a lovely walk down the road finds you in Wakefield with cafes and restaurants. Jeff, a maintenance guy was super friendly and had great suggestions. Only issue was with the AC unit in our room was leaking water.

The property is in a beautiful small village, ample parking near it, it lays at a dead end so quite and no other traffic then hotel traffic. Close to restaurants and river. Rooms were very nice and beautiful. Well maintained, cleaning staff did thorough job cleaning

Outside of eco river lodge had junk and garbage bins in front. Shower handle broken/shower glass door rubber peeling off. Thermostat broken. Couldn’t cool down room. Also fire alarm in our room kept beeping everybody minute advising battery was low. Worker came by to fix. Breakfast menu very limited. Lunch at the muse was dissapointing Re I had fish and ships. There was only 1 small piece of fish. . Table beside us had 2 large pieces.

Property was clean and well maintained Staff was friendly and accomodating. Restaurants were excellent, but service a little slow. Spa was divine.

Beautiful property overlooking a waterfall. Room and property grounds very clean. Enjoyed the pool, hot tubs and fire pit.All the staff were friendly and helpful. Will definitely recommend and will be returning

Beautiful area, on site restaurant was outstanding. We were in deluxe Mill Inn Queen. Disappointed that there was no fireplace ( apparently, although same category, you have to ask for these rooms specifically). The room was large, but very dated, worn furnishings. It did not have the cozy feel we were hoping for. Walls are very thin- could hear conversations of guests in adjoining room very clearly. Heating system very loud, making to hard to sleep.

I was on crutched with a sprained ankle, but we were put in a room on the 4th floor only accessible by 2 flights of stairs. Floors 1-3 were all accessible by lift, but they did not change the room for us.

Super cool property. Dinner at the restaurant was excellent. Had a massage and it was fantastic! Only complaint was that the AC wasn’t functioning well and the room was hot.

Our wonderful room had a view on the falls. Bed was super comfortable.

The views are incredible from every angle! The historic details take it to the next level. Our room was spacious and cozy with the fireplace roaring.

Furniture in room was a bit tired. Bathroom fan did not work and barn door compromised privacy. But……the fireplace and view were great! Staff service was excellent. Grounds were lovely! Would definitely return.

Nice, modern room that was very clean and the eco lodge was quiet. Only complaints that the curtains could be thicker to block out more light, and the plugs near the bed didn’t work to charge a phone. The hot tub was lovely and staff were very nice. I’d stay here again.

Staff were great. The only negative is that we received a coupon to apply to our restaurant meal. We forgot to present it before our meal, and when we asked the next day, there was no way to process it. We did get a credit against a future stay, but since this property is far away for us, we're not sure when or if we might return. Otherwise, everything A1

The front desk staff were freindly and welcoming. The hotel restaurant staff was extremely rude. I immediately reported this behavior to management. The hotel manager talked to the two men working in the restaurant and they admitted to her that they were rude in their remarks to me, (asking, in an angry voice, what I was doing there). I am White and my husband is Black, and I felt this was perhaps a reason for their offensive behavior. The manager assured me they were just overwhelmed by a busy day. She also suggested that because they are French speaking, that perhaps they just “sounded” rude when speaking English. I explained to her that my husband and I would not stay the night and expected a full refund. She offered to wave the room fee if we would stay, but the experience was so hurtful that we decided not to stay.

Fabulous place to stay in! Service was excellent! Although there was no one at the front desk to meet or receive us, we did find an envelope with our passes and Information ready to go. (We were there past midnight, so it was somewhat understandable) Other than that, it was a really nice place to stay. It was so nice we extended our stay for an extra night. Would definitely come back again. Thank you!

The reception staff are fantastic and went above and beyond to help us with an issue relating to our booking.(3rd party not their mistake) They dealt with it in an efficient and friendly way. I cannot thank them enough. The hotel and faculties are wonderful. Each member of staff make you feel welcome and it really feels like home. The lovely lady who served us at breakfast is an absolute gem! I would love to return if I am in Canada again. My favourite place on my road trip

Overall, a lovely spot and we will definitely come again. I didn’t understand the point of online check-in when I was asked to provide the same ID again when I went to pick up our key. Otherwise, staff is lovely, great food and nice spa.

I booked a stay here to celebrate my birthday weekend and, unfortunately, left feeling more frustrated than relaxed. While the property itself is beautiful, several things really missed the mark. First, there were no clear directions to the 2nd spa area. We were pointed toward it by staff but ended up at an empty, dirty pool and completely missed the hot tub, which we later realized was tucked off to the side with no signage and no robes, sandals etc. We also requested the fire pit to be lit twice. Both times, staff started it but didn’t do it properly, and the fire went out within minutes. There was no staff member around to help, and we didn’t feel like heading back inside a third time to ask again. It felt like a lot of effort just to enjoy a basic amenity. The restaurants could really use some updating, both in décor and menu. It didn’t feel up to the standard one would expect at this price point. When I asked for help getting a taxi back to Ottawa, staff seemed confused and only offered a black car service or public transit—neither of which was ideal. We ended up googling and finding a local taxi company ourselves for a much more reasonable price. It seemed like most of the staff were very young and possibly new. I really tried to be understanding of that, but the consistent issues with service, the lack of guidance around using amenities, and the general confusion made for an odd and underwhelming.

We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel and the restaurant staff were fantastic. We had some concerns availability of spa services, the hot tub water was green, we had a dinner reservation and they sat people that came after us before us and we waited over 30 minutes for our table, and they charged a dinner to our room that was not ours as we paid by Mastercard (which we did not realize until the next day). The night staff said they would speak to the manager which they didn’t. They did sort out the charged meal and we asked for a manager to call us via email and they never did they responded they would though. I followed up a few days later to say I still didn’t hear from anyone and again no reply. Great food and comfortable cozy environment but service was a bit disappointing.

I asked for a room upgrade based on VIP status and was denied. The TV in the room did not work well and had issues connecting to my services. I had order food twice in the lounge that did not come. Overall place was nice and staff was friendly, but the issues listed above prevents this from being rated 5 stars.

This is in a remote location. In the area for a wedding, but there was no available transportation to and from the venue. It is a beautiful place to stay,.

Spectacular location! Our room was in the Eco Lodge, had a small patio with a view of the garden and hills and nearby pool. Fire pit at dusk was perfect for a nightcap. Beds were extremely comfortable, never slept better. Dining beside the waterfalls was magical, with the option of an outdoor deck. Short walk downhill to the village shops and the bakery is not to be missed!

Food was excellent but pricey.

Carefully check food & drink bar inventory. Room temp digficult to adjust. Long wait for breakfast. Reservation should specify location of room.

The location is beautiful. We stayed in the older inn portion and found the amenities to be adequately modern. The art gallery really enhances the atmosphere. Dinner at the wine bar and breakfast at The Muse were tasty, unique and varied. The view from the wine bar at night is very special. The hot tub and sauna, with a view along the water, are a real treat. Staff were very helpful and friendly. It was a very peaceful and relaxing getaway. 10/10 recommend!

Horrible experience here. Could have been corrected but was never contacted after my management. No heat/AC, no water pressure, over 10 calls in for help to main office and no answer. Also sadly, one of the worst meals I’ve experienced anywhere.

Wonderful natural setting, river, falls, forest, isolation. However, we give it a low 2-star because we disliked the deliberately confusing way restaurant menus are arranged so that a single meal can end up costing more than the room. Eg restaurant opening hours in the morning leave guests NO choice but to go go for excessively priced breakfast if they wish to eat and check out before 10.30AM (when the normal one opens). Didn't straightforward at all. You might consider bringing your own wine and snacks and save especially if you have a large family group.

the room was clean and cozy, yes, but small and didn’t look worth its price. the bed was nice, though. The food at the restaurant was very disappointing. The main pork and laviori were too Salty, too many fried dishes, the dishes in the entire course didn’t feel like they were in harmony.

Stayed here for our anniversary and loved it. Cute room on top floor/attic looking out at the fall colours (facing away from the water, but this was fine). Great dining experience (adventurously opted for the 5-course "discovery" menu), and one of the top 3 best breakfasts of my life the next morning. Highly recommend

The hotel was nice great location thought there was more stuff outdoors for the spa but nice spa treatments the restaurant the muse at the hotel was outstanding and excellent service over all à real nice hotel
