We are a group of 11 adults that go on an annual Labor Day trip every year, and this was the best year yet thanks to the Sandalwood Retreat. The house had more than enough space for everyone and their belongings. We were thankful to have two full kitchens and multiple places indoors and outdoors to hang out. Whether we were hanging out as a large group or we were split up into smaller groups or enjoying some alone time, the house accommodated all of our needs without feeling crowded. The hosts also provided awesome indoor and outdoor games that we enjoyed. This is a great place for any large group, and we can't wait to hopefully return next year!

This is an amazing property with wonderful hosts! They surely went out of their way to ensure the comfort of my family and I. Our group of over a dozen loved how spacious this property was, the great amenities, lake (the boat lift was awesome! Thankful for that.), continuous wifi connection, and so much more. We loved the deck and screened porch. Great spot to watch the sunrise! Everyone very much enjoyed the recreation/entertainment area and offerings in the bottom level. This kept us all busy when we were indoors. The space above the garage was also fantastic. All the spaces were amazing! We were there over the Memorial Day weekend. The hosts were always available and responded quickly. We very much appreciated their thoughtfulness in the comfort and care of their guests, and their kindness and generosity to opening up such personal space to my family and I. Thank you so very much! Our family had a wonderful stay at Sandalwood Resort. This house has been well thought out for large groups/families. From two washers and dryers to two ovens. The flow of the kitchen was great when feeding everyone. The screened porch was lovely to sit out on at night. My mom was able to spend most of the day out there, listening to the laughter of the grandkids and great grands. We had four generations in Hayward this year and this truly couldn’t have fit our family better. Thank you!

We love this house! Works perfect for our family of 18. Plenty of space. Space over the garage works perfect for Grandma and Grandpa to have their own space. The lake is one of our favorites ever. We spend all day at one of the sand bars. Depth at the end of the pier is perfect to jump off of. Plenty of fridge space with the basement fridge and bar cooler. Screened in porch is the highlight of the house. Comfy beds. Bonus, TJ is awesome and easy to work with!

Words from my 10 year old! Of course, she said that last year too! This was our 2nd year staying at this house. Since a devastating cancer diagnosis, our mutigenerational family made an effort for the last two summers to get everytone together. At the same time:) That is hard to do with busy schedules but worth the effort. This property has been a blessing to us. It has provided respite and a well needed break for our family. It has provided opportunities for joyful memories to be made. Could any other place do that?-probably. But this house is perfect for us. It provides space and activities for kids and quiet spots when the adults need to take a break!:). The screen porch is genius, the firepit is a great gathering place. The boat lift- awesome addition! The house is impeccably cared for and clean, modern, well designed, and well stocked. We appreciated the two full- sized refridgerators, the plethora of pots and pans and the dual washer/dryers! The property is on a crystal clear lake, near great mountain biking trails and in a quiet neighborhood. June fishing was better than usual for us once we found the right spot. Lots of rock bass, some large smally's and good-sized largemouth bass. We also rented a logrolling log for the week (you can pick up in Hayward) (Keylogrolling.com) and that was a highlight and hours of fun every day for our family. Truly, there is something for everyone at this property- and plenty of space for a large group.

We had the best week, probably my favorite VRBO of all time! The house is SO cool, stylish, spacious and perfect for a big group. We had 18 people and we all had our own space but also the house has great gathering spaces. The screened in porch is great with a table and a lounge area, we loved the fire pit and chairs, we had so much fun playing in the basement and countless hours jumping off the pier into the crystal clear lake. Leading up to our stay and a couple questions to Thomas while we were there, he was fantastic. I honestly don’t think I ever waited more than 5 minutes for an answer from him! The house is clean, the property is gorgeous and we enjoyed so many beautiful sunsets! Highly recommend!

Our extended family go on vacation to Hayward area every summer, Round Lake is our favorite lake in the area. This is the second year we've stayed at Sandalwood Retreat, and it is still the best place we've stayed. The house is high-end and has plenty of space for our group of 16. Other than the lake, the screened-in porch is our favorite place to hang out, play cards or eat meals together. We also enjoyed the paddle board, kayaks, and the air hockey table. If we can get our schedule's to line up, we'll be booking again for summer 2025.

We’ve stayed at many properties through VRBO and this one was top notch. The property managers were very proactive and responsive in communicating before and during arrival. Boating, fishing, swimming, beautiful sunsets and lots to do inside when the weather didn’t cooperate with the game room, open living area and spacious screen porch. We couldn’t ask for more and hope to return in the future.

The property was absolutely excellent and its description was very accurate.Plenty of space for our family of 19 to spread out and enjoy all it offered.The lower level game room was great fun and the toys for little kids in the above-the-garage space was a nice surprise.Having firewood available to enjoy the excellent fire pit was also very nice.Communication with ownership was top notch.Really, our only complaint is our family loves to cook nice meals when together and, while there were plenty of plates, glasses and flatware; food prep utensils were lacking. Things like sharp knives, measuring spoons and cups were not up to par. We actually went to Walmart and bought a grater, peeler, and sharp knife. Not a big deal (see the 5 star rating), but it would have been nice. Also suggest you stock the lower level kitchen.We would definitely stay here again!

Very please with the communication and the upkeep and cleanliness of the property. The space above the garage was a wonderful haven for the teenagers and the common areas had ample space for gathering. The screen porch was excellent for morning coffee and the fire pit space was great for sunsets and s’mores. We will definitely be back!

Our group of 9 adults and 4 babies and toddlers just had our yearly winter gathering for the second time at the sandalwood retreat and it was just as fabulous as last year. The rooms are diverse but fantastic and offer all the comforts you could want- pack and plays fit in the closet, ensuits in three of them, comfortable beds, extra linens and they are all super quiet, even when there's a ruckus in the livingroom. The annex over the garage was a great spot for the childless among us to retreat but also a wonderful play area for the kids. We cooked several delicious meals in the large, beautiful kitchen and enjoyed all the games and play spaces in the basement. We do dream of visiting again in the summer to enjoy the outdoor spaces more but the house is so large that we never felt cooped up. Our hosts were wonderful to work with and responded quickly to any questions. We would absolutely stay here again!

Our stay at this beautiful home was absolute perfection! The house accommodated our large group perfectly! Private areas with attached bathrooms, and bedrooms throughout the home created a retreat, when needed! The communal gathering areas were comfortable spacious and had all the amenities we could have asked for! We look forward to returning hopefully soon!

Really enjoyed the cabin. Lots of space on the main level and in the basement. The Rooms above the garage were a nice getaway for some people. One of the nicest places I've stayed and my friends want to come back again after such an enjoyable time!

This is an amazing property with wonderful hosts! They surely went out of their way to ensure the comfort of my family and I. Our group of 9 adults and 4 babies and toddlers just had our yearly winter gathering for the second time at the sandalwood retreat and it was just as fabulous as last year. The rooms are diverse but fantastic and offer all the comforts you could want- pack and plays fit in the closet, ensuits in three of them, comfortable beds, extra linens and they are all super quiet, even when there's a ruckus in the livingroom. The annex over the garage was a great spot for the childless among us to retreat but also a wonderful play area for the kids. We cooked several delicious meals in the large, beautiful kitchen and enjoyed all the games and play spaces in the basement. We do dream of visiting again in the summer to enjoy the outdoor spaces more but the house is so large that we never felt cooped up. Our hosts were wonderful to work with and responded quickly to any questions. We would absolutely stay here again!

We had the best week, probably my favorite VRBO of all time! The house is SO cool, stylish, spacious and perfect for a big group. We had 18 people and we all had our own space but also the house has great gathering spaces. The screened in porch is great with a table and a lounge area, we loved the fire pit and chairs, we had so much fun playing in the basement and countless hours jumping off the pier into the crystal clear lake. Leading up to our stay and a couple questions to Thomas while we were there, he was fantastic. I honestly don’t think I ever waited more than 5 minutes for an answer from him! The house is clean, the property is gorgeous and we enjoyed so many beautiful sunsets! Highly recommend!

We rented this property to stay after my Dad's Celebration of Life. It was the perfect location and home to enjoy time with Family and Friends. It was well stocked and so easy to enjoy time with many people. We didn't have great weather which made the huge screened in porch a life saver. This home is so well appointed and the owners are very responsive. Would rent again if heading back to the area. Loved It!

We’ve stayed at many properties through VRBO and this one was top notch. The property managers were very proactive and responsive in communicating before and during arrival. Boating, fishing, swimming, beautiful sunsets and lots to do inside when the weather didn’t cooperate with the game room, open living area and spacious screen porch. We couldn’t ask for more and hope to return in the future.

The property was absolutely excellent and its description was very accurate.Plenty of space for our family of 19 to spread out and enjoy all it offered.The lower level game room was great fun and the toys for little kids in the above-the-garage space was a nice surprise.Having firewood available to enjoy the excellent fire pit was also very nice.Communication with ownership was top notch.Really, our only complaint is our family loves to cook nice meals when together and, while there were plenty of plates, glasses and flatware; food prep utensils were lacking. Things like sharp knives, measuring spoons and cups were not up to par. We actually went to Walmart and bought a grater, peeler, and sharp knife. Not a big deal (see the 5 star rating), but it would have been nice. Also suggest you stock the lower level kitchen.We would definitely stay here again!

Perfect location for our family! We brought our boat for the first time - the lift worked great - seemed like it could fit a lot of boats. Lake was great - lots to explore, and it wasn't small. The house was loaded with toys and games any kind of group would work here:). We had a great time!

Our extended family go on vacation to Hayward area every summer, Round Lake is our favorite lake in the area. This is the second year we've stayed at Sandalwood Retreat, and it is still the best place we've stayed. The house is high-end and has plenty of space for our group of 16. Other than the lake, the screened-in porch is our favorite place to hang out, play cards or eat meals together. We also enjoyed the paddle board, kayaks, and the air hockey table. If we can get our schedule's to line up, we'll be booking again for summer 2025.

The property is fantastic. The layout of the house was well designed for our party of extended family, plenty of space for all of us to hang out together, or be away from each other when needed. The screened porch was one of our favorite places to relax. Games in the basement provided great entertainment when we had too much lake time. Round Lake is a beautiful, clear lake, our family enjoyed jumping off the dock and swimming when we needed a break from the boat. I highly recommend this property.

We are a group of 11 adults that go on an annual Labor Day trip every year, and this was the best year yet thanks to the Sandalwood Retreat. The house had more than enough space for everyone and their belongings. We were thankful to have two full kitchens and multiple places indoors and outdoors to hang out. Whether we were hanging out as a large group or we were split up into smaller groups or enjoying some alone time, the house accommodated all of our needs without feeling crowded. The hosts also provided awesome indoor and outdoor games that we enjoyed. This is a great place for any large group, and we can't wait to hopefully return next year!

Our family had a wonderful stay at Sandalwood Resort. This house has been well thought out for large groups/families. From two washers and dryers to two ovens. The flow of the kitchen was great when feeding everyone. The screened porch was lovely to sit out on at night. My mom was able to spend most of the day out there, listening to the laughter of the grandkids and great grands. We had four generations in Hayward this year and this truly couldn’t have fit our family better. Thank you!
Our family had a wonderful stay at Sandalwood Resort. This house has been well thought out for large groups/families. From two washers and dryers to two ovens. The flow of the kitchen was great when feeding everyone. The screened porch was lovely to sit out on at night. My mom was able to spend most of the day out there, listening to the laughter of the grandkids and great grands. We had four generations in Hayward this year and this truly couldn’t have fit our family better. Thank you!

Words from my 10 year old! Of course, she said that last year too! This was our 2nd year staying at this house. Since a devastating cancer diagnosis, our mutigenerational family made an effort for the last two summers to get everytone together. At the same time:) That is hard to do with busy schedules but worth the effort. This property has been a blessing to us. It has provided respite and a well needed break for our family. It has provided opportunities for joyful memories to be made. Could any other place do that?-probably. But this house is perfect for us. It provides space and activities for kids and quiet spots when the adults need to take a break!:). The screen porch is genius, the firepit is a great gathering place. The boat lift- awesome addition! The house is impeccably cared for and clean, modern, well designed, and well stocked. We appreciated the two full- sized refridgerators, the plethora of pots and pans and the dual washer/dryers! The property is on a crystal clear lake, near great mountain biking trails and in a quiet neighborhood. June fishing was better than usual for us once we found the right spot. Lots of rock bass, some large smally's and good-sized largemouth bass. We also rented a logrolling log for the week (you can pick up in Hayward) (Keylogrolling.com) and that was a highlight and hours of fun every day for our family. Truly, there is something for everyone at this property- and plenty of space for a large group.

It was a great stay! Super clean. Large/open space great for the 17 of us! Screened in deck was our favorite place for dinner and morning coffee. Would definitely stay here again.

Our group of 10 friends (+3 babies added this year) decided to begin an annual tradition to allow us the opportunity to spend quality time together as we span over two states. Our visit to Hayward was our first attempt! From the first guest walking in to the last, everyone instantly loved the Sandalwood Retreat. The bedrooms were very comfortable and quiet with large closets (big enough for a pack and play) extra linens and pillows, and lots of storage space. We especially appreciated how everything was high quality and functional like the custom blinds in each room, comfortable seating in the living and dining rooms, and the kitchen pots, pans, utensils and appliances. It was an absolute blast to take full advantage of the game room in the basement, guest suite, bath tub, and easy access to the (frozen) lake! We loved sledding and adventuring with the kiddos on Round Lake! We all left in agreement that the Sandalwood Resort would be an annual repeat. The location, amenities, ease of communication with the host, and price will make us repeat customers for sure. We cannot wait to stay here again!

The property was absolutely excellent and its description was very accurate.Plenty of space for our family of 19 to spread out and enjoy all it offered.The lower level game room was great fun and the toys for little kids in the above-the-garage space was a nice surprise.Having firewood available to enjoy the excellent fire pit was also very nice.Communication with ownership was top notch.Really, our only complaint is our family loves to cook nice meals when together and, while there were plenty of plates, glasses and flatware; food prep utensils were lacking. Things like sharp knives, measuring spoons and cups were not up to par. We actually went to Walmart and bought a grater, peeler, and sharp knife. Not a big deal (see the 5 star rating), but it would have been nice. Also suggest you stock the lower level kitchen.We would definitely stay here again!

We love this house! Works perfect for our family of 18. Plenty of space. Space over the garage works perfect for Grandma and Grandpa to have their own space. The lake is one of our favorites ever. We spend all day at one of the sand bars. Depth at the end of the pier is perfect to jump off of. Plenty of fridge space with the basement fridge and bar cooler. Screened in porch is the highlight of the house. Comfy beds. Bonus, TJ is awesome and easy to work with!

Our family has been coming up to the northern woods for the past 35 years. We enjoy renting houses on different lakes. SandalWood and Round Lake are by far the best! We would love to stay there again!

We used to own a home in this area, and our grown children wanted to revisit the area with their families. This property was perfect for the 10 of us. The property provided all the necessary features to provide fun on a rainy day, along with the outdoor activities later in the week. We would definitely recommend this property and will look forward to returning in the future.

We are a group of 11 adults that go on an annual Labor Day trip every year, and this was the best year yet thanks to the Sandalwood Retreat. The house had more than enough space for everyone and their belongings. We were thankful to have two full kitchens and multiple places indoors and outdoors to hang out. Whether we were hanging out as a large group or we were split up into smaller groups or enjoying some alone time, the house accommodated all of our needs without feeling crowded. The hosts also provided awesome indoor and outdoor games that we enjoyed. This is a great place for any large group, and we can't wait to hopefully return next year!
