We had a very nice stay at Glen Cove. The out door pool is small but situated nicely with a great view. The terrace in back of our room was very nice for eating breakfast. Breakfast was also good as continental breakfasts go. Staff is nice and helpful.

Great property, breakfast was good, the pool was nice for a dip during a hot day. The fire pit was nice to sit around during the cooler evenings. Staff was very nice and helpful.

Most of the staff was wonderful, the staff working for the summer from other countries were absolutely wonderful. They did a good job cleaning the room every day. The room needed upgrades to the floor and the back porch. The pool needed cleaning, and the staff never came out in the morning to refill food items. Overall, we would stay again. :o)

The location is lovely, the grounds are well kept and the rooms are simple and straightforward but need serious updating. The carpet needs to be changed, it was moldy and very old. The bathtub drain needed repair and the AC unit was very loud. This would be a charming vintage motel but the room really smelled bad because of the old carpeting. Hot water worked but ran out very quickly. Love this motel but it needs TLC.

Friendly staff in the office, nice grounds and good location. The cleanliness of room needs attention - carpet needs steam clean, cobwebs, had to run shower for a while to get hot water. Bed was comfortable and proper mugs for coffee.

We left the place.The bed spread had a stain on it,blinds,chairs,cushions,window trim and the carpet we’re filthy.Tons of cobweb true out the room and the smell of the carpet in the room was awful.There is no way we could have slept there.We left the keys in the room and left.We got in touch with Expedia to get our refund.No one should go sleep in a dirty room

The bathroom needed updating in a very big way. the floor was not clean. As noted from the back of the bathmat. There was hair around the edge of the walls in the bathroom that was NOT ours. after the summer they needed to clean the bugs out of the light in the bathroom.

First I was told my booking through Expedia didn’t go through so I was charged full price for my stay. Approximately $200 more. Room wasn’t great. Shower the size of a coffin was ridiculous. I don’t like speaking bad about a stay but felt I had to.

Great location, great rooms, so cute with each one having it's own small front "porch". the room was large, clean and the bathroom was nice. the grounds and buildings were in very good shape. The included breakfast was tasty and had a great set up out on the covered deck. It was only 1 night in the hotel and in the area, but it was a great place to stay. We would definitely book here again.

We were just staying for a quick evening and had to leave at 7:00 so missed the breakfast. The front desk representative was adorable, great first impression. We asked for a basic room and got it, so no complaints. However my husband needed a desk so if you need a desk definitely up grade to deluxe. One of the best showers ever, loved the strong pressure. Also loved that there were real drinking glasses and coffee cups instead of throw away! Bed was comfortable and pillow too! Clean and easy in and out! I would definitely return.

Typically I stay in larger chain hotels, so this was more like a peaceful retreat than a hotel stay. Geographically, I wanted something within driving distance to Bangor and Bar Harbor without it being that far north, so this was a nice location. While our room had the same characteristics as a normal hotel room, it feels like you're staying in your own private cottage. The room was spotless and well kept. Beds were comfortable and the shower worked well. The wi-fi in the room was a little spotty, but was reliable. As others have noted, they offer a generous breakfast with waffles, bagels, parfait, cereal, coffee, etc. We were very happy with our stay here!

I reserved a Deluxe King Room at Glen Cove Inn & Suites on Expedia for the nights of 9/14 and 9/15. The reservation was paid in full and non-refundable. Upon arrival, we were given keys and entered a room where the bed was unmade and dirty towels were on the floor. We were then given keys to a smaller room with a tiny bathroom that included a very small shower stall with a dirty cloth shower curtain that dragged on the floor of the stall. This was not a deluxe room. We went back to the reservation office, said that we were not satisfied with the room and requested a refund, which we were denied. I called Expedia and was told that we could get a refund, but it would take 60-80 days and I would have to give the Expedia representative my credit card number over the phone and pay $199, which would entitle me to a credit for a future reservation. I told the rep that I would not provide him with my credit card number as the procedure sounded suspicious. We did stay at a property next to Glen Cove (Strawberry Hill Seaside Inn, which was lovely) and was told that Glen Cove was recently sold. I strongly suggest that people not book lodging at Glen Cove when staying in Rockport, particularly on Expedia (I will never book on Expedia again BTW).

I have stayed in this area many times and was pleased with other properties and optomistic about this one. Because I understand the complexities of the hospitality business, I try not to complain, but this experience was so bad that I felt compelled to warn other travelers. When I arrived I found the room tidy but not very clean, especially the carpet and bathroom. The bed was very soft and the shower is the smallest I have ever seen. I am a petite woman and I could not fully extend my arms even with elbows bent. The room had a Keurig coffee machine but only 2 k-cups of decaf coffee and one packet of sweetener were provided. My biggest complaints were the lack of housekeeping and the unavailability of management. I stayed Sat-Thurs and housekeeping only tended my room once! And did not restock the coffee supplies. I tried to complain to management but they do not provide a phone number except on their website. No one answered the phone and no one ever responded to the voicemail I left. I will definitely never stay there again.

We have stayed here before and it is generally a nice little motel. The hot water stopped in less than a minute while my wife was showering and I was unable to use the shower. No communication or assistance from mgmt and barely an apology. Breakfast is OUTDOORS and on a cold, raw day is intolerable. No heaters, food was cold. Very little regard fror comfort of guests. We will not stay here again and cannot recommend.

Love this little place. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Would recommend having your own vehicle to stay here—it’s not really walkable from town, and cabs are limited and can get pricey. Went down a star because, while the room was otherwise clean, the coverlets at the foot of our beds were not

We liked the inn but were disappointed we couldn’t even see the water. When I read the description it sounded like it was on a private beach. There was no beach, anywhere nearby.

This stay was less impressive than prior stays. The breakfast spread was less than desirable in comparison to last visit. It was very limited and the waffle maker is no longer available. The shower drain was clogged, sink drain was slow, lights flickered often, and there was a variety of bugs staying with us. The power went out as well for a short stint, in all fairness it was raining, however not a powerful storm by any means.

Property is very old and "tired". Really needs some paint and refurbishing. The continental breakfast is outside on the porch. Fine in good weather, but not on very cool and/or wet mornings. The staff was friendly and the location was fine. Not a terrible place to stay, but should be considerably cheaper for the quality of the accomodation.

We were there for a wedding at the Samoset; couldn't ask for a better location. It was very clean, comfortable and perfect location. The owners put out a lovely continental breakfast every morning that you can eat on outdoor patio or bring back to your room. Homemade waffles, muffins, coffee, juice. Beautiful little hike down to the cove right on the property. Everyone that works there was so nice and accommodating. Loved our stay. Will definitely return!!
