Ok arrived and as expected more of a hostel than a hotel.. lots of young back packers by the door.. But I just needed something cheap and near the train station as I was leaving at 3am in the morning.. Digital check in and the young lady on reception give me a door key on the third floor.. Lift available.. again as expected and small functional room with en suite bathroom.. Two single beds..as requested.. Comfortable enough with clean sheets.. room a little warm as it was a beautiful day and the room had no fan.. Very happy with the shower and body wash.. only requirement for me.. Clean bed and a nice hot shower.. Maybe asking why have only given a general score of two.. As was leaving for the train and the airport at 3am.. 11.30pm..the noise and the slamming of doors was horrendous... Now I'm no grouch but after seeing that down stairs in reception is the following. Pool table.. games room and music playing, everything a young person wants.. Large group outside seem to enjoy what was on offer.. Stayed in AO hostel hotel..in Antwerp recently never had the issue there..

Did not expect much as I haven't stayed in a hostel since I was at school and when there were rooms for £15 a night j didn't have high expectations. Well I was surprised the bar was amazing and open 24 hours so despite me getting there at midnight it was buzzing. The self check in was difficult but staff were there.to do it old school. The rooms were functional and comfy (no keetle though) and very clean. The breakfast was nice, not fry up option but food was very well presented and tasty. Will definitely stay at one of these again

Stated at the a&o Berlin Hauptbahnhof from September 19 - 21 for the Berlin Marathon. They have a self-check in process using kiosk when you enter. This option did not work for me as the Expedia number and that which was on my Expedia confirmation were different. A member of the staff assisted me with checking in via the Kiosk and activating my door key. I was not satisfied with the cleanliness of the room that was reserved and my request to switch the room was met with satisfaction. The room was very clean and my stay from that moment was exceptional. During my stay, I utilized local options at the Berlin Hauptbahnhof Station. I also utilized the supermarket Kaufland to buy groceries to refrigerate. Most items that I needed were walking distance(up to 3 mile walking), but transportion is accessible, if preferable. Floor 0(Ground Floor) has a nice sitting area and there is food to order if needed. Breakfast if located on Floor -1(Basement) and options from whole grains(breads/roll), protein(meats), cereal, coffee, tea, juices are offered. I utilized the breakfast and a combination of my own food during my stay to meet my nutritional needs. I was able to utilize the laundry before leaving. Laundry detergent was provided by the front desk and an app is needed to start the wash and dryer. The staff were friendly and answered any questions that I had. The occupants of the room were all delightful. The neighborhood around the area felt safe, even at night.

Keine Klimaanlage es war unerträglich heiß im Flur und in den Zimmern. Gegröle in der Nacht in Unterkunft und vor der Tür. Parkplatz sei vorhanden stand in Beschreibung. Dann vor Ort stellt sich raus es gibt nur 11 Parkplätze. Parkplatz vor Tür wenn frei kostet 3 Euro die Stunde. Die Dame vom Check Inn war mega gelangweilt und unfreundlich. Das war der erste und letzte Besuch.

Preis Leistung passt,schade dass man den Parkplatz reservieren muss,welches nicht im Angebot ersichtlich war. Es sind aber Parkplätze vor der Tür vorhanden. Beim Frühstück muss man früh sein,wir waren anscheinend zu spät. Familiengeiegenet mit ausreichend Beschäftigttigungsmöglichkeiten.

Very far from the standard advertised. Bed sheets with stains of them, a mattress cover so thin it was transparent, and a pillow that was more of a bag with a small amount of stuffing randomly thrown in. Specks of mold in the shower. Very hard mattresses, no ac or fan in the room. Breakfast was crowded and the second breakfast room was closed. Nothing was refilled when it ran out unless specifically asked for. Poor selection of foods available.

Horrible cleaning standard. Toilet was very dirty and had garbage (tin foil and tooth pick) on the floor. Hair in the drains in shower. Beds for the booked number of residents where not done and we needed to do it ourselves… after getting it from the receptionist. Maybe fine for young people with no requirement other than a bunk to sleep…

Die Zimmer sind spartanisch, was für den Preis in Ordnung ist. Die Nähe zum Bahnhof ist auch gut. In der Dusche war es voller Schimmel, dass muss auch in einem günstigen Hotel nicht sein.

Wir haben aufgrund der Nähe zum Hbf dort gebucht. Zimmer sind soweit ok. Bei uns waren Haare im Bett und in der Dusche, die Türklinke im Bad hing nur halb drin und fiel bei einer kleinen Berührung schon ab. Könnte man zwar wieder reinstecken und nutzen, ist aber nicht so schön. Auch die Halterung in der Dusche hing nur noch quasi am seidenen Faden so dass man Angst haben müsste man bekommt es gleich auf den Kopf, leider musste man das Ding trotzdem bewegen da das Wasser sonst nur an der Wand entlang lief. Die Betten waren überraschend fest, was mir gut gefällt. Das Personal war auch freundlich. Es ist halt relativ laut aber bei nem Hostel rechne ich damit.

Privat værelse for 2 personer med eget bad og toilet. Hvis man vågner nemt eller har svært ved at falde i søvn så skal man måske ikke vælge dette hotel. Jeg tager melatonin så havde ikke det store problem, men uden ville jeg ikke ha sovet meget. Det ligger ud til en vej med en del larm og udrykning. Når dørerne lukkes udefra skal de smækkes hvilken kan høres igennem hele gangen og mærkes hvis det nogle værelser tæt på. Vi var der fra lørdag til lørdag. Garderoben kunne der godt være mere af til 2 personer, men til få dage er det fint. Hvis du ikke kan tysk har du 2 kanaler at vælge mellem på tv’et MTV og comedy central hvilen sidste nævnt nogle gange også er tysk dupe tv. Så en computer eller iPad vil ikke være dårligt at tag med hvis man gerne vil se noget TV. Skal du bare ha en seng at falde i så det et fint sted og i kort afstand til hovedbanegården (Berlin Hbf) der er en netto og et andet supermarked lige henne af gaden

Check in is total carnage as they want you to use auto check in machines that are hard work to use. Room was boiling hot and window barely opened. Room was new, small & clean but too much furniture for a small room, all the furniture is metal with pointy edges to taking a few grazes home with us!!

Bei uns hat leider der Self Check-in nicht funktioniert, aber der Mitarbeiter an der Rezeption war sehr freundlich und hat uns weitergeholfen :) Wir waren für eine Nacht da und uns hat es dafür gut gefallen, sehr gute Lage nah am Hauptbahnhof und die Zimmer waren sauber

Stated at the a&o Berlin Hauptbahnhof from September 19 - 21 for the Berlin Marathon. They have a self-check in process using kiosk when you enter. This option did not work for me as the Expedia number and that which was on my Expedia confirmation were different. A member of the staff assisted me with checking in via the Kiosk and activating my door key. I was not satisfied with the cleanliness of the room that was reserved and my request to switch the room was met with satisfaction. The room was very clean and my stay from that moment was exceptional. During my stay, I utilized local options at the Berlin Hauptbahnhof Station. I also utilized the supermarket Kaufland to buy groceries to refrigerate. Most items that I needed were walking distance(up to 3 mile walking), but transportion is accessible, if preferable. Floor 0(Ground Floor) has a nice sitting area and there is food to order if needed. Breakfast if located on Floor -1(Basement) and options from whole grains(breads/roll), protein(meats), cereal, coffee, tea, juices are offered. I utilized the breakfast and a combination of my own food during my stay to meet my nutritional needs. I was able to utilize the laundry before leaving. Laundry detergent was provided by the front desk and an app is needed to start the wash and dryer. The staff were friendly and answered any questions that I had. The occupants of the room were all delightful. The neighborhood around the area felt safe, even at night.

I have always really liked A&O accommodations. They have been my first choice, no matter what city I visited. Including long-term stays und short trips but the service in Berlin was extremely bad. The cleaning lady accidentally threw away my dirty laundry. She thought the bag of laundry that was next to my suitcase was just trash. Although I already assumed this was an accident, the reception team didn't cared at all. “What should I do now” was the only statement with a shrug. The manager was even more disinterested and accused me of throwing the laundry bag in the trash!! In this Hostel they care about your credit card and nothing more. Apparently the demand for those rooms seems to be high enough to treat their guests like this. It's a shame that A&O died for me. The staff and management deserve negative stars!!!

It took a while to check in. They sent me a link to do express check in but after entering the details, they could not find my details. So i had to go to the reception which also couldn't find my details for a while. It took about 20mins to get check in done. Then at approximately 2.30am i had a drunk guy kept knocking at my door & i told him to go away, he kept knocking. Went away from a few hours & then came back at about 5am. Really2 annoying my sleep. It was pretty scary actually.

The room and breakfast were fine. The problem was security and noise. My laptop was stolen from my room the day I arrived. Hearing doors slam constantly, how often does one think of checking the door when you go out if it has an automatic closing mechanism. My door didn't close completely and within a few hours my laptop was gone. I reported it to management however there was little that could be done. BUT, they made NO EFFORT to fix my door and I was there 4 nights after the theft happened. I suspect this non-closing of doors wasn’t unique to my room. The first person I talked to at the desk asked me if I checked to be sure my door was closed. Why would I do that when it should be closing automatically? Was he generally aware of this type of problem with other rooms? Secondly, I made note of the problem to cleaning staff. While the individuals spoke no English, they seemed to be aware of the problem in their response. This is gross negligence on the part of a&o’s management. Remember, four days later it still wasn’t fixed. Also, the noise level was absurd at times because of slamming automatic doors, particularly in the morning when many were going to breakfast. No late sleeping for sure.

Room was ok. There were a bunch of students running riot on my corridor every night. They were running all over the place and knocking on every room in the corridor at 10pm. I complained but nothing was done by security. It was disgraceful after paying so much for a hotel. The teachers had no control over them and will never use them again. Thy spoilt my time at the hotel. Hope you do something about it and warn others and tell the hotel as will never recommend this place. Staff were useless even at check-in

Overall A&O represents the modern hostel, cheap accommodation, but no spirit. They haven’t updated their self-check in to accommodate Expedia which would have helped them out as they were swamped at check- in, but the staff on hand seemed to manage. Their common area washroom was under repair and the shower head in my bathroom shower could only point to the wall and nowhere else. Everything else was good though, but don’t expect to meet a lot of people as they don’t push that aspect a lot.

Et fint sted til en forlænget weekend. Fornuftig afstand til banegåden. En kombi af hotel og hostel. Ikke de største værelser men ganske fint. Morgenmaden var meget fint. Gode muligheder for købe fornødenheder i receptionen.

Did not expect much as I haven't stayed in a hostel since I was at school and when there were rooms for £15 a night j didn't have high expectations. Well I was surprised the bar was amazing and open 24 hours so despite me getting there at midnight it was buzzing. The self check in was difficult but staff were there.to do it old school. The rooms were functional and comfy (no keetle though) and very clean. The breakfast was nice, not fry up option but food was very well presented and tasty. Will definitely stay at one of these again

Das Hostel ist zweckmäßig und liegt super zentral. Die Lobby ist abends Treffpunkt für alle Bewohner und die sind bunt gemischt von Jung bis Alt vorhanden. Das Zimmer war soweit sauber und für eine Nacht vollkommen ausreichend. Das Frühstück ist für den Preis wirklich gut nur zu Stoßzeiten sind alle etwas überfordert. Preis-Leistung stimmen aber für einen Urlaub würde ich mir lieber etwas anderes suchen.

Bed sheets with stains of them, a mattress cover so thin it was transparent, and a pillow that was more of a bag with a small amount of stuffing randomly thrown in. Specks of mold in the shower. Very hard mattresses, no ac or fan in the room. Breakfast was crowded and the second breakfast room was closed. Nothing was refilled when it ran out unless specifically asked for. Poor selection of foods available.

Helt glimrende Hostel, 10 min gåtur fra Hauptbahnhof. Vi ankom etter mørkets frembrudd, og det maps ville ha oss gjennom en mørk kolonihage, det er en vei jeg ikke ville anbefale for enslige jenter, da tror jeg man kan føle seg utrygg. Ellers var rommene veldig fine til å være hostel. Med tilbud om å se fotball i baren, det var billiard og god stemning. PS. Pizza som selges i baren var ikke så mye å skryte av, det var en relativt dyr frozzenpizza.

Highly recommend as an excellent value option. This is a large hostel with many students and adults staying. Very lively and fun environment. Lobby is great meeting place. The building is very well staffed and they are exceptionally helpful. We stayed during the June 2026 heat wave. No air conditioning was an issue, but staff made fans available. Helps if you appreciate people and don’t mind night activity.

Staff were excellent. Check-in area, bar, study desks, lobby, washrooms, lockers, picnic grounds etc, all were top class and well maintained. One factor that needed attention was the shared bathroom in the dormitory #167. It was filthy. During my two nights, I wasn’t able to use it even once.
