Stayed 2 nights

Nice rural hotel. We saw 2 bear cubs within 500m of hotel on a walk. It’s not too fancy, staff are nice but a bit undertrained, we had 0800 fire alarm caused by staff and they didn’t know how to stop it. But it’s fine.

From the moment we checked in, the Overlander exceeded our expectations. The clerk was kind, knowledgeable and extremely friendly. Room was very clean, and comfortable. We had a wonderful meal in the restaurant and were fortunate to have 2 lovely servers taking care of us! Food was satisfying, but the real stars are the staff. Checkout was just as pleasant as check in. Would definitely stay again, but probably splurge a bit more for one of the fancy rooms. Highly recommend!

The Overlander is beautiful with amazing views. Our room was clean, but small even for 2 people. No place for luggage. There was some odd noise every night, banging like furniture was being moved around or pots and pans being banged on. It lasted until midnight. I can't over emphasize the friendliness of the staff. John the bartender was so great. The resaurant accomodated us with seating for dinner even though we didn't have reservations. The food was very good. It is remote in that Jasper is about 40 minutes away. For us, we most likely wouldn't stay here again. It just isn't the place for us, but if you love remote, this lodge is for you. And the views are spectacular.

The lodge itself was beautiful and had exceptional views from the patio. We had pre-dinner drinks on the patio, followed by a wonderful dinner (and breakfast the next morning) in the onsite restaurant. Staff were excellent. The cabin itself was a bit underwhelming - very dated - and the jet tub had black mold all over the jets. We were only planning on using the shower not the tub but it gave a feeling that it was not clean. Having said that, overall it was worth the stay and would recommend to others.

Stayed 1 night

I rented a queen room which included a fireplace that actually never lit for myself. Sadly, to no fault of any staff, the power was out upon my arrival and covered a vast dairy between Hinton and Jasper. The staff were accommodating I’m getting me into my suite. The beauty of the power outage, Drew people into the main lodge and enjoyed the fireplace with people I met from German Germany and Netherlands and Denmark. It was great to get the power back just before 1 AM and enjoy a hot shower in the morning.
