The hotel had an amazing location right on the beach. It is walking distance to small restaurants and shops in the town of Porto do Sol. Staff and manager were very helpful with any guest needs and providing travel information for the island. It is quiet but best to stay on lower floors between the restaurant and the garage. The parking garage was convenient but only way to gaurantee a space is to arrive before 6 pm. If arrive later than 6 pm guest may have to find a space on the street. The breakfast had a good variety but the dinner did not. Dinner was too costly (30 euros) if not included in reservation for limited selection.

We loved staying at Enotel Sunset Bay. Ponta do Sol is a fantastic location on Madeira. The hotel is right in front of the ocean and beach and all rooms have ocean views.We stayed on the 4th floor in the seaview rooms with balcony. The rooms are very spacious, clean and well-equiped. The 4th floor is where the roof top deck is located. It was a great place to soak in some sunshine and relax after a day of hiking. The indoor pool was also a bonus. The breakfast buffet is excellent, with lots of great choices. There is free underground parking, but it is somewhat difficult to get into and can get full. Overall, this is an excellent hotel and I highly recommend.

Das Frühstück wird leider viel zu üppig vorbereitet. Daher ist das Spiegelei immer kalt, wenn man es aufm Teller hat. Pünktlich 7:30 war alles schon 10 fach vorbereitet und ausgekühlt- sehr schade. Die Auswahl ist gut, wechselt aber kaum. Das Abendbrot ist dagegen eher schlecht. Der Spa ist leider direkt neben der Eingangstür und es gibt dort auch keinen Service. Es ist ein sehr, sehr kleiner Pool, der größten teils zu flach zum schwimmen ist. Dazu eine Mini Sauna für Max 3 Personen. Der Service ist Restaurant ist Sehr gut, an der Rezeption eher weniger. Insgesamt ist das Hotel okay, die Lage macht vieles gut und wir würden auch wieder kommen.

Das Hotel hat gehalten, was es in seinen Beschreibungen versprochen hat. Großes Zimmer, sauber, frische Speisen mit Show Cooking, sehr ansprechend dargeboten, fixes Nachfüllen des Buffetts und Neueindecken der Tische, Freundlich, gut bestückter und geräumiger Fitnessraum , trotz Bar in der Nähe herrlich ruhig, Ich war sehr zufrieden. Würde es uneingeschränkt empfehlen - wenn Sie Ruhe und Natur im Urlaub bevorzugen und keine Animation benötigen. Auto mieten, organisierte Ausflüge oder Reisegruppe empfehlenswert - je nach Mentalität. Sauna und Dampfbad vorhanden, aber in die Jahre gekommen. Daher werden sie auch nicht erwähnt. Leider scheint die Klimaanlage ihre Luft in der Nähe des Raucherplatzes anzusaugen - es riecht nur manchmal und nur ein kleines bisschen.

Bom hotel, a piscina aquecida é ótima. Único detalhe que foi ruim é que o banho turco não estava funcionando…e quando sabemos que é um hotel com spa o mínimo é poder utilizar as infraestruturas. Mas como a piscina é muito boa valeu.

We're really pleased with our 2 night stay at Enotel. We had a sea view room with a balcony and we highly recommend it. We really enjoyed sitting on the balcony in the evenings taking in the sunset and the sound of the rolling waves. One night the sunset was a spectacular display of orange, pink, and blue! The room itself was clean and spacious. We found the beds and pillows to be very comfortable. The bathroom was clean and the water pressure in the shower was great. Check-in and check-out were easy and the underground parking is extremely helpful as the beach-front street is paid parking and fills up quickly. The parking garage is tight but manageable, especially with a smaller car. One evening we made use of the pool, sauna, and imam. It was great to have these on site to relax following an afternoon of hiking. In sum, we'd definitely stay here again!

The view from the hotel is nice and there are some great restarants behind the hotel. My complaint is that my room felt dirty...it had been cleaned but felt greasy and my skin was so itchy from the bed...I am not sure what was causing it but it was noticably different with this hotel vs the others I stayed at on Madeira island. Even though the view was nice, i looked forward to leaving the hotel from right after check in to the time i left.

Habitación: Nuestra habitación era muy amplia y luminosa, situada en el último piso. Las camas son cómodas y grandes. La terraza era preciosa con vistas a la playa para ver el atardecer o el mar al despertar. El baño era amplio, con buena luz y buena temperatura y presión del agua. Las toallas eran grandes y suaves. Limpieza: Correcta aunque mejorable. Nos limpiaron un poco la terraza que estaba bastante sucia por la ceniza a causa del incencio. Desayuno: Con mucha variedad a escoger, incluyendo fruta fresca ya cortada. La máquina de café es lenta y solo hay una. Ubicación: Perfecta, pegada a la playa, cerca de los bares, con zona para aparcar gratis al lado, y cerca de la autopista.

Beautiful hotel, right at the beach of Pont do Sol, big room, comfortable king-size bed. We had a balcony with sea view. Big plus was the garage. Pont do Sol is basically a few streets behind the hotel, but real sweet. There is a sauna and inside pool at the hotel. The roof terrace was nice, but on display for the public. Breakfast was amazing, the only thing missing was tea cups, there were only coffee cups available, also for tea. We were surprised, that there was no complementary bottle of water at room at arrival, also no coffee or tea making possibilities. The street between the hotel and the beach is actually a dead end street, but cars are driving forth and back looking for a parking space, so a bit of traffic anyway. Overall we would recommend the hotel!

Es ist ein die Jahre gekommenes Hotel. Der Check in ging erstaunlich blitzschnell, man wurde sehr kühl empfangen und fast direkt die Karten überreicht. Das recht unfreundliche Personal ist jeden Tag aufgefallen, sei es an der Rezeption oder beim Frühstück. Das Hotel liegt direkt in einer Bucht, zum Strand muss man über eine Straße. Parkmöglichkeiten gibt es in der kostenfreien Tiefgarage - sofern man einen Parkplatz bekommt, diese sind nämlich nicht viele. Wir hatten glücklicherweise immer den Letzten ergattern können, sonst wird es in der Umgebung schwierig mit Parken. In der Umgebung befinden sich außerdem ein paar nette Restaurants. Der Strand und das Meer vor der Tür sind sehr steinig, zum Baden daher eher ungeeignet. Das Zimmer ist groß, recht sauber und zweckmäßig eingerichtet. Die Seife im Bad riecht nicht besonders gut, Frauen könnten sie als sehr männlich empfinden. Insgesamt ist es sehr hellhörig, da die Türen zum Flur nicht dicht sind. Nachts hat man die Wahl zwischen lauter Klimaanlage oder offenen Fenster mit Pflasterstraßenlärm - das Meeresrauschen hört man aber auch. Der Wellnessbereich ohne wirkliche Abtrennung zur Rezeption ist gewöhnungsbedürftig, aber in Ordnung. Zum Frühstück lässt sich sagen, dass es zwar eine große Auswahl gibt, die Qualität aber nicht besonders ist und geschmacklich recht fad war. Zusammenfassend war es für den Preis in Ordnung, würde beim nächsten Mal aber ein anderes Hotel bevorzugen.

Parkmöglichkeiten gibt es in der kostenfreien Tiefgarage - sofern man einen Parkplatz bekommt, diese sind nämlich nicht viele. Wir hatten glücklicherweise immer den Letzten ergattern können, sonst wird es in der Umgebung schwierig mit Parken. In der Umgebung befinden sich außerdem ein paar nette Restaurants. Der Strand und das Meer vor der Tür sind sehr steinig, zum Baden daher eher ungeeignet. Das Zimmer ist groß, recht sauber und zweckmäßig eingerichtet. Die Seife im Bad riecht nicht besonders gut, Frauen könnten sie als sehr männlich empfinden. Insgesamt ist es sehr hellhörig, da die Türen zum Flur nicht dicht sind. Nachts hat man die Wahl zwischen lauter Klimaanlage oder offenen Fenster mit Pflasterstraßenlärm - das Meeresrauschen hört man aber auch. Der Wellnessbereich ohne wirkliche Abtrennung zur Rezeption ist gewöhnungsbedürftig, aber in Ordnung. Zum Frühstück lässt sich sagen, dass es zwar eine große Auswahl gibt, die Qualität aber nicht besonders ist und geschmacklich recht fad war. Zusammenfassend war es für den Preis in Ordnung, würde beim nächsten Mal aber ein anderes Hotel bevorzugen.

Das Hotel ist sehr sauber, das Personal ist freundlich und hilfsbereit, die Zimmer sind groß, das Frühstück und Abendessen sind vielfältig und recht lecker. Als Nachteile würde ich das schlechte WLAN und die stets volle, enge Tiefgarage nennen. Das Internet öffnete nicht mal Nachrichtenseiten, ohne Bilder und Videos. Und die Tiefgarage ist rund um die Uhr voll und furchtbar eng. Um dort zu wenden und rauszufahren, muss man ein virtuoser Fahrer sein. Auf jeden Fall würde ich dieses Hotel sehr empfehlen.

The hotel had an amazing location right on the beach. It is walking distance to small restaurants and shops in the town of Porto do Sol. Staff and manager were very helpful with any guest needs and providing travel information for the island. It is quiet but best to stay on lower floors between the restaurant and the garage. The parking garage was convenient but only way to gaurantee a space is to arrive before 6 pm. If arrive later than 6 pm guest may have to find a space on the street. The breakfast had a good variety but the dinner did not. Dinner was too costly (30 euros) if not included in reservation for limited selection.

The location next to the ocean is a bonus. Listening to the waves in the morning and evening brings great serenity. The staff is also very friendly. There was one woman in particular that made it even more enjoyable. I wished I had asked for her name. She helped me picked out some guided tours for the time I was there. She even wished me a happy birthday before I left. It’s those little thoughtful moments that makes it memorable. When I return, I will definitely go back there.

Très bons équipements et bonnes qualités des chambres par contre le client ne reçoit aucune considération et n'est pas la priorité. Je suis surpris pour un hôtel de ce standing et avec cette notation de ce faible niveau de bienveillance et d'attention. Réservation avec un balcon, l'hôtesse d'accueil ne me prévient même pas qu'elle n'en dispose plus pour la première nuit. Lui expliquant mon incompréhension et ma déception en retournant a l'accueil elle ne s'en émeut pas. Pour finir la responsable consent a offrir repas et boisson le premier soir en réparation de ma surfacturation (j'aurai préféré un remboursement de l'écart) Le 2eme jour parking complet je me stationnement sur l'aire de retournement et le signale a l'accueil, on me demande alors de me garer dans la rue. Je refuse ayant une prestation avec parking et au final je récupère la place d'un membre de direction de l'hôtel. Je comprends tout à fait qu ils utilisent le parking par contre je trouve inadmissible de demander au client de se garer dans la rue en vendant la prestation parking pendant que les employés stationnent dedans. Le bar ferme également a 22h au lieu des 23 h annoncé....je revois encore le regard désabusé du jeune couple pensant très certainement s'offrir un petit cocktail en amoureux en me demandant qui m'avait servi.

Die Unterkunft war sehr schön und auch das Frühstücksbuffet ließ keine Wünsche offen. Jedoch war es für uns enttäuschend dass man bei unverschuldetem Nichterscheinen wegen wetterbedingtem Flugausfall den Rg.-Betrag für sämtliche gebuchten ÜN verlangt. So geschehen bei unserem Sohn welcher nachkommen wollte, aber seinen Madeiraurlaub wetterbedingt nicht antreten konnte. Dies wurde dem Hotel sofort vor Ort mitgeteilt. Expedia verwies auf einen Ermessensspielraum des Hotels bzgl. der Einforderung des Preises bei einem derartigen Sachverhalt. Dieses verwies jedoch auf die gültigen Stornobedinungen welche in diesem Fall unverschuldet nicht eingehalten werden konnten. Wir hätten uns in diesem Falle einfach ein gewisses Entgegenkommen von Hotelseite gewünscht welches trotz mehrmaliger Bitte leider nicht erfolgt ist.

Das Hotel ist wirklich empfehlenswert - tolles, stets hilfsbereites und freundliches Personal, große Zimmer, kein Durchgangsverkehr, direkte Lage am Meer, sehr gute Gaststätten und Bars und auch ein Supermarkt in unmittelbarer Umgebung, toller Steinstrand mit traumhaften Sonnenuntergängen, sehr gute Anbindung an die Schnellstraße, ohne vom dortigen Verkehr was mitzubekommen. Einzig die Tiefgarage erfordert fortgeschrittene Einpark-Skills. :-) Fazit: wir kommen wieder! Danke für die tollen und erholsamen Tage!

We loved staying at Enotel Sunset Bay. Ponta do Sol is a fantastic location on Madeira. The hotel is right in front of the ocean and beach and all rooms have ocean views.We stayed on the 4th floor in the seaview rooms with balcony. The rooms are very spacious, clean and well-equiped. The 4th floor is where the roof top deck is located. It was a great place to soak in some sunshine and relax after a day of hiking. The indoor pool was also a bonus. The breakfast buffet is excellent, with lots of great choices. There is free underground parking, but it is somewhat difficult to get into and can get full. Overall, this is an excellent hotel and I highly recommend.

Vackert, strandnära hotell i ett väldigt eftertraktat område. Rummet är rent och städas dagligen. Personalen är trevlig och hjälpsam och frukosten har allt från frukt till varmt mat och efterrätter. Bra att veta är att det förekommer ljud under vissa perioder, såsom fester på stranden under helgerna. Lokala fester där området stängs av i princip. Det finns en parkering under huset och det finns inte tillräckligt med plats för samtliga. Det kan ibland vara svårt att hitta parkering nära hotellet.

We stayed here for the first 3 nights of our stay in Madeira, lovely hotel with great views out to the Atlantic Ocean. Hotel is situated on the promenade of Ponta Da Sol and takes up about 2/3rds of it. It’s been built in a sympathetic style to fit in with the local area. Breakfast was included in our room rate and we found a good selection of hot and cold food. We never used the indoor pool but did you’d the interface on the 4th floor on a couple of occasions. Some nice places to eat just around the corner on ‘Bar Street’, the Beach Bar is also a nice place to hang about during the day and early evening. Best sunset on the island and you don’t even need to leave your room. Perfect base to explore the island.

Hotel is excellent. Fantastic location on the beach. All rooms are large, modern, clean, with beautiful sea views. Indoor pool, sauna and Turkish baths are a nice touch. Breakfast is excellent but they need a second coffee machine to reduce the coffee line up. Great service and the buffet dinners are worth the extra money.

Das Frühstück wird leider viel zu üppig vorbereitet. Daher ist das Spiegelei immer kalt, wenn man es aufm Teller hat. Pünktlich 7:30 war alles schon 10 fach vorbereitet und ausgekühlt- sehr schade. Die Auswahl ist gut, wechselt aber kaum. Das Abendbrot ist dagegen eher schlecht. Der Spa ist leider direkt neben der Eingangstür und es gibt dort auch keinen Service. Es ist ein sehr, sehr kleiner Pool, der größten teils zu flach zum schwimmen ist. Dazu eine Mini Sauna für Max 3 Personen. Der Service ist Restaurant ist Sehr gut, an der Rezeption eher weniger. Our stay exceeded our expectations. The room was bright and spacious, the window opened, the shower was hot and powerful, and the food in the breakfast and dinner buffets was fabulous.
Our stay exceeded our expectations. The room was bright and spacious, the window opened, the shower was hot and powerful, and the food in the breakfast and dinner buffets was fabulous.

Wir waren 10 Tage im Hotel. Service und Zimmer waren super, jedoch fanden wir das Frühstück nicht besonders gut. Das Rührei hatte eine mehlige Konsistenz und war klar aus dem Tetrapack und der Kaffee aus der Maschine hat absolut grauenhaft geschmeckt. Das Restaurant hatte also mehr Kantinenvibes, als man sich von einem 4 -Sterne Hotel erwarten würde. Das fanden wir sehr schade. Ansonsten war das Personal aber sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend und das Zimmer ist groß, komfortabel und sauber.

Habitación: Nuestra habitación era muy amplia y luminosa, situada en el último piso. Las camas son cómodas y grandes. La terraza era preciosa con vistas a la playa para ver el atardecer o el mar al despertar. El baño era amplio, con buena luz y buena temperatura y presión del agua. Las toallas eran grandes y suaves. Limpieza: Correcta aunque mejorable. Nos limpiaron un poco la terraza que estaba bastante sucia por la ceniza a causa del incencio. Desayuno: Con mucha variedad a escoger, incluyendo fruta fresca ya cortada. La máquina de café es lenta y solo hay una. Ubicación: Perfecta, pegada a la playa, cerca de los bares, con zona para aparcar gratis al lado, y cerca de la autopista.

En general la estancia ha sido buena, aunque pude mejorar, sobre todo en la limpieza de cristales. También puede mejorar la calidad de la comida que, aunque es correcta, podría tener mejor presentación. Lo mejor ha sido la atención del personal, aunque en el comedor en la cena el precio de las bebidas era completamente desproporcionado (las bebidas no entraban en el buffet contratado en Expedia). Por suerte, uno de los empleados nos ofreció agua del grifo sin coste. Una cerveza de 50cl costaba 7€. Una botella de agua filtrada de 75cl, 5€. Ha sido algo que me parece que deberían de corregir con urgencia.

The hotel was very nice and in a great location. The only remark I would make is about the beds. It felt like you were sleeping directly on the boxspring. The beds are very hard.

Great location on the beach, staff was okay, sometimes they weren't around which was annoying, like front desk would go chat with kitchen for an hour and we we were stuck outside waiting. But rooms were spacious bed was good, view was nice and pool was nice so good experience and they had parking but it's on a first come first serve basis or u need to park outside

We barely had time to see the hotel. Madeira haas so much to offer! But this is a beautiful little gem of a place and this hotel is right in the middle of it. A bit limited on parking spaces but the only night we couldnt get a spoit was when we arrived at 2am. If you are planning to get up early (leave before 08) you can just park in the street anyways.
