A very pleasant stay. Room was clean and restaurant was very good. Ate outside on the veranda. Have both an indoor and outside pool and an outdoor hot tub. No elevators, so if you cannot climb stairs, that would be an issue.

Beautiful property. Everything has gone smoothly with check in, relaxing in the pools and hot tub, and meals. We were fortunate to be seated with amazing views on the deck. Our meals were delicious. Our staff in the outside dining area and the bar area were friendly and efficient. We drove to this area from the east side of the state and booked this place through Expedia and we are beyond please with our stay.

This old porch hotel still has it! The staff folks are real people who solve issues. Like everywhere they are a bit tight on numbers of staff. Families were enjoying themselves as were couples. Clean. Only complaint—too controlled on outdoor pool hours. Open 7am, not 9am, and don’t close pool at 5pm. They have also an indoor pool.

I have been coming to the Summitt since the mid 80's. LOTS of special memories Love the history of the Summit Hotel. Alot of changes through the years but the place still has some of its old charm left. It is a relaxing place to unplug from the fast pace world. The porch has some of the best sunsets ! The pool is refreshing and relaxing with a beautiful view ! I always choose a summer stay to enjoy the pool and a Fall trip is a definte time to stay as well. !!

This property is a historic gem built in 1907, but with modern amenities. The view from the outdoor pool overlooking the valley was worth the stay! The bar and veranda dining options were scrumptious and appreciated, as everything else within 5 miles seemed to be closed on a Monday/Tuesday. If you’re from Florida and missing the lightning bugs, they are everywhere on this property! Also, this proud 20 minutes away from white water rafting!

Lovely historic property with great dining and views. No elevators- so be prepared for lots and lots of steps. Wish the rooms had a fridge and microwave. Everything was neat and clean and the staff was very helpful and friendly.

This historic property is a gem in the Laurel Highlands.Charming building and excellent bar/ restaurant. Spectacular sunsets from the veranda. Some rooms better than others - ask for a room with a view. No elevators and many stairs so ask for first floor accommodations if mobility limited. Close to many local parks and attractions yet quiet and national park lodge like.

This is a beautiful old inn with a great pool and hot tub that has spectacular views. The dining menu was disappointing in that it is neither diabetic friendly nor gluten-free-friendly. Other than the menu, we loved this hotel.

The room was clean & quiet. The ambiance in the lobby was cozy, with big chairs, game corners, a fireplace, & a tv for those who wanted to watch sports. The food was delicious, as we dined in for one dinner & two breakfasts. The apple crisp was a treat after dinner! The staff was friendly & professional. The historic pictures were great to explore as well as the newspaper articles.

It was a very beautiful view but the room was terrible. It smelled like musty old basements. The AC had mold under the plastic, cobwebs behind the curtains and the carpet was bumpy and dirty. The bathroom was clean and it was very quite which is nice. The bartender was sweet and very nice, as well as the front desk staff. Fresh hot coffee in the AM, yummy. We needed to check out a day early and neither expedia or the Hotel would accommodate. Expedia said they contacted the front desk and the front desk said they never got a call, hum.....Anyway, once was enough for us.

TV was small and some channels didn’t come in clearly TCM, bathroom toilet not clean and rug not fully vacuumed and carpet shredded with something sharp, no hooks for towels or suits to hang after shower. No mini fridge for leftovers in room.

The property is gorgeous with a fantastic view. The pools were both fantastic, especially the outdoor pool with it's view. The rooms were a bit dated. There's no fridge, coffee, or anything like that. They were also a little dirty.

This is hard to review. The dining and view I would give a 5/5; however the hotel room and experience with that was a 1 or 2 out of 5. I wasn't going to write a review and emailed the property with my concerns. I emailed just to give feedback and never heard back. That tells you a lot right there for their care for customers. Again dining at the resteraunt, could not have been better and the view amazing. First hotel room had unidentifiable object dried up on comforter, was moved to another room with way more issues but my husband was so tired, I didn't feel comfortable complaining again. The hotel rooms: unidentifiable items in beds, bug in tub, unclean windows, musty air can't breath, door separated rooms can hear everything next room over, old poorly painted up patch on ceiling of room...bad experience.

Returned to property after 20+ years. Very impressed by all the updates for a historic property. Still has all it's historic appeal. Room was recently renovated, very clean and comfy. Bar and restaurant very good as well.

Historic building which translates to NO elevator. Room on third floor, so not convenient. Shower tub floor a little slippery, no grab bars. No coffee in room nor lobby. A little pricey for all of that. Food in dining room was excellent.

The views were amazing, pool refreshing, but the bed was uncomfortable. It's an old hotel but the owners put in the work to keep the paint fresh and the surfaces clean. Too bad they cut corners on an essential element, a comfortable place to lay one's head.

I would have said excellent if there was a mini fridge in the room. The meals are huge and my husband and I felt we had to stuff ourselves or waist our dinner because there was no mini fridge in our room to keep the food until we checked out the the next morning.

Everything was wonderful except for our dinner in the hotel restaurant. There was some weird wire in my salad and the waiter didn't offer to take it off my bill, just asked if I wanted another salad? Basically ruined the whole meal. And the food was marginal at best. I expected much better from this hotel.

The hotel’s common area are lovely and the room was comfortable. Nice hot water in the bathroom. Breakfast food was very good. Be aware that this hotel has multiple stairs and NO elevators. Not even a bellman/woman to help you with your luggage. The breakfast is ordered at a walk up counter, no substitutions allowed and the customers need to gather their own condiments. Staff is in need of customer service training.

If you are going to see Fallingwater or Kentuck Knob, this is an excellent place to stay. Sunsets on the veranda are amazing. The pool a great place to chill out.

This is an awesome turn of the century hotel/destination. Super fire place in lobby for drinks & relaxation, especially in early spring and fall. Very nice outdoor patio, overlooking the valley. Great nearby historical destinations. At hotel, fun, easy very scenic mountain top golf course. Two Frank Lloyd Wright home tours, Fort Necessity, Youghiogheny River white water rafting, bike/hike trail. Too much to describe. Really didn't want to post this message. Prefer to keep it our secret destination!!!

The Summit Inn is located in a beautiful location with views everywhere you turn. Sitting on the porch watching the sunset was amazing! It is convenient to many of the attractions and restaurants in the area.

The Summit sits on top of a high bluff over Union town. Great place to be if you want to see the several area sites such as Falling Water, Kentuck Knob, Fort Necessity, and the many streams and other. the Summit has a great Staff. it is a lodge built in 1907 with many famous travelers from the past having stayed there. The facility is Ok, but needs some sprucing up. We greatly enjoyed our stay, the pool, the dinners and the bar. We would stay again.

The room was clean & quiet. The ambiance in the lobby was cozy, with big chairs, game corners, a fireplace, & a tv for those who wanted to watch sports. The food was delicious, as we dined in for one dinner & two breakfasts. The apple crisp was a treat after dinner! The staff was friendly & professional. The historic pictures were great to explore as well as the newspaper articles.

It was a great place to stay - loved the historic nature and all the porches and places to walk, both inside and outside. The restaurant served delicious meals, the room was clean and comfortable, and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Beautiful property. Everything has gone smoothly with check in, relaxing in the pools and hot tub, and meals. We were fortunate to be seated with amazing views on the deck. Our meals were delicious. Our staff in the outside dining area and the bar area were friendly and efficient. We drove to this area from the east side of the state and booked this place through Expedia and we are beyond please with our stay.

Everything was wonderful except for our dinner in the hotel restaurant. There was some weird wire in my salad and the waiter didn't offer to take it off my bill, just asked if I wanted another salad? Basically ruined the whole meal. And the food was marginal at best. I expected much better from this hotel.

I liked the historic nature of the building, which took me back to a simpler time. The staff was great. The room was nice. The bed was comfortable. The A/C unit was noisy. Dinner was great, my only complaint about the breakfast was that the food was only warm when it arrived at the table. My oatmeal was cold by the time I finished it.

The Summit is a historic hotel and well worth the visit. We had an excellent lunch on the veranda and a very good breakfast in the dining room. I would highly recommend this hotel for visitors of the area.

This is a beautiful old inn with a great pool and hot tub that has spectacular views. The dining menu was disappointing in that it is neither diabetic friendly nor gluten-free-friendly. Other than the menu, we loved this hotel.

Wonderful stay at the Historic Summit Inn. Staff were extremely helpful, including when they realized that we had double-booked our room. They moved us to a room that was away from the wedding group (our original stay was next door to the wedding couple!). The hotel does not have an elevator, but staff were helpful in letting us know that if we parked around back, we could get to the 2nd floor room with fewer steps. Much appreciated!

This hotel is a historic gem. Do not expect a modern or renovated hotel space. The lobby is full of charm, lots to look at and our kids loved the checkers set and puzzle. They also enjoyed the indoor swimming pool! The game room is pretty tired, bring cash if your kids enjoy pay for play money grabs 😆the room itself was very large. The decor could use a refresh - I appreciate trying to stay within a historic time frame, but the carpet, tile and tapestries all were more 80s than 1900s. The coffee in the lobby was the best my husband has ever had as a hotel! We also loved our dinner 🍽️ in the dining room. The kids meals were large and yummy, special shout out to the staff in the restaurant! I have to mention the smell of the hallways and some of the public spaces - it is mildew/moldy odor that is fairly noticeable to me. I’ll admit I have a very sensitive nose! I’d love to see them restore the hotel to its former glory, I’m sure it would be expensive but worth it.
