Hotel Vernal

Expedia quoted one rate and the hotel charged my credit card significantly more. Room was spacious but bed was hard as a rock. Spa and swimming pool were out of commission. Don’t trust Expedia or the hotel!

The price reflects the property. Clean. Needs some maintenance - ice machine out of order. Pool out of order. Laundry machines out of order. Missing outlet cover in room. Some of the light switches didn’t work. Sink very slow to drain. Did have fresh paint and carpet.

The service at the front desk was good. The room was outdated and the bed was terrible. We both woke up the next morning with back aches. The pool and spa were out of condition. The “gym” is an old hotel room with one set of weights and a treadmill that doesn’t work. The breakfast food wasn’t at temperature and was probably something the health department should be aware of. Won’t stay there again, and we are in the area monthly.

It AC was very loud. Rooms were dated. Pool and hot tub were closed. Would have been nice to know ahead of time. The name has changed.

Breakfast was basically non existence. We waited 20 minutes for someone to show up at the front desk. There is no ice machine you have to get it at the front desk and they give you a little bag that doesn't even fill the ice bucket half way.

The room was large and very nice and clean. We stayed in room 203 and every time the lobby sliding door opened and closed it was so loud in our room! So that was no good. Also the treadmill (the only cardio equipment in there) wasn’t working! All and all a decent stay

There were stains on the bed and the hotel really wasn’t very clean at all. There was still dirty parts in our room and we were very bummed to see that the swimming pool was very very disgusting covered in green stuff and not open.

Room a little less than Satisfactoy, A/C didn’t work, hole in bathroom door, TV too far from bed and poor seating. Elevator didn’t work, ice machine on 3rd floor. Short or no food staples available in food court. Comparable to Motel 6 with smaller edge. Would not stay or recommend this hotel.

The pool was being refurbished and was closed. The room wasn’t made up but the staff addressed right away. It worked for a night. Pet friendly.

For the great price it was perfect. The room was clean and the staff was helpful. Parking was easy. Because people use the kitchenettes you might smell an odor at times in the hall (read this in other reviews too) but not your room. The large fridge was great. Our room was street side and it does get little noisy in morning hours. Spa was out of order which was disappointing and workout room is basically treadmill and some weights but for the price I would come back as the pros outweighed the cons.

Outside of property was ok but inside our room was lacking in cleanliness. The toilet was unclean around the base (I clean my own bathroom much better.) It was rusty where the floor & toilet met, the broken t. paper holder was broke & should have been completely removed! The ice container had NO LID! In 75 years I have never left a review like this, which should say something! I only can think the staff that clean the room have not been trained. We also asked on the reservation for a king bed, no smoking; none of that happened. Dawn Aders

Disgusting There were scratches all the way down the doors, the fridge still have somebody else's food in it, and there were old washcloths in the bathroom, it was pretty terrible

The employees were incredibly friendly & made us feel very welcome. The hotel itself was a little older, but in good shape. Breakfast & the breakfast area was nice. The room itself was not very clean. There was splatter on the walls of the main room & bathroom. The mirrors & light fixtures in the main room were dirty & smudged with hand prints. Luckily I had disinfecting hand wipes that I was able to use to clean. The sheets were clean, but the bed skirt was filthy. I’m guessing they are just short staffed & unable to keep up with everything.

DO NOT STAY HERE!! This was the absolute worst place to stay! It’s is the most DISGUSTING hotel we’ve ever stayed at and I would be ASHAMED to work here! It was like they came in the room and just reused everything, just folded it to make it look like things were clean and fresh. The walls weren’t clean, there were food splatters in the kitchen and around the trash can. There was pee stains on the back of the toilet seat, the bathtub had dirt all over it and the towels had boogers, dirt and yellow stains on them. The bed sheets had hair (human and pets) all over them. The floors weren’t vacuumed and mirrors had smudge marks all over. We booked two nights here and only stayed one (wish it was zero) we canceled the second night and booked a room at the Microtel down the street (HIGHLY RECOMMEND staying there!) When we went down to cancel our second night stay the manager was nice but he didn’t ask us for a reason or if anything was wrong he just kept telling us that he wouldn’t be able to refund us the money for the second night, which we didn’t care about, we didn’t even ask for a refund because we knew he wouldn’t give us one, we just wanted to get out of there. His main concern wasn’t for us or how our stay was it was money. Also, the pool and spa hasn’t been open or working for a while based on our stay and other reviews read and that was a big seller for us so we wish they would’ve not advertised for it because we wouldn’t have booked there.

Employee at checkin not friendly. Room was filthy. Had to buy clorox wipes and scrub food off counter. Burn holes in bedding. Shower dirty. Chair dirty. Floor gross. Very run down. The guy that came in to fix my tv at 11 pm was nice. Lady at desk at check out was very nice. Advertise pool and hot tub but they were closed for maintenence supposedly. Very limited breakfast.

Everything was great until I was in the shower and noticed how nasty the shower curtain was! This shower curtain has not been changed in who knows how long! Made me question the rest of the room. I took the shower curtain down so it didn’t get forgotten for the next guest. I also put powder make up on all pillows and sheets to make sure they were changed as well.

It was filthy!!! Hair EVERYWHERE in the bathroom. Light fixtures we’re all pulled out of the wall except one. Carpet was stained and smelled like pee. The side exit doors were not locked, opened to the public. Walls had dripping stains running down the wall. Room was very disgusting!!!!!!

Daily activities in Vernal kept me gone all day, I just needed a place to sleep. I knew this place wasn't going to be posh, but I was hoping clean. The condition of my room was pretty bad with debris and dry wall bits all over the carpet. Greasy handprints on the cabinets, microwave and lamps. Construction dust on everything. Hallways and elevator had a quite a bit of debris on the carpets as well. Breakfast was also pretty disappointing. Cereal, apples, biscuts and muffins were all the choices Milk, orange juice and apple juice were available, but the milk was a communal jug, and the juices were watered down. I was so sad. I really wanted to enjoy my stay here.

Road traffic was very loud all night, toilet kept running, refrigerator was loud, tv remote didnt work from the bed. You had to get closer to operate the tv.

Wrong hotel name. Not really sure how to rate this Strange experience. I’m so confused. I booked a room at Executive Inn and Suites on Expedia but when we got to the address it was Sure Stay by Best Western?? I was worried I wouldn’t have a reservation, thankfully we did. The outside has been updated and looks good. Makes you think it’s a newer hotel, it’s not. The inside is dated and old. But it was clean. The pool and hot tub were out of order just like everyone else mentioned in their reviews. However, when I read that, I booked the king Jacuzzi suite. I was surprised at how nice it was!! It had a small kitchenette. Very nice fridge. The cupboards were dated but clean, but they were empty? I didn’t really need the kitchen so it didn’t affect me but for someone who is expecting a kitchenette they would have been disappointed that they had nothing and I mean nothing to cook or clean with. The Jacuzzi tub was new, very nice and clean. The room was clean. The bathroom had been updated and was clean, very nice other than the tub would not drain when showering because the drain plug was broken and you couldn’t make it stay up. Once we figured out that we were at the correct hotel our stay was actually pretty nice, especially for the price, just very odd.

My wife and I stayed for a single night. We arrived around 7pm and found the front desk empty with a sign saying they would be back. We waited for a few moments and then noticed the phone that said we could dial 0 to get assistance. Placed the call and got help almost immediately. The front desk person was friendly and engaging. He got us checked in quickly, reminded us of the checkout time and the breakfast times. We rode the elevator up to our floor. Had to squeeze around one of those room cleaning carts to get to our room. We stayed in the king suite. We liked the room. It had a kitchenette in it, which was nice. The room had an armchair on one side and a desk with a task chair next to it. The poor task chair looked like it had seen better days. The shower was nice and had plenty of pressure. The cooler/heater worked well. The bed is very firm. We didn't use the small stovetop that was in the room, but it does warn to make sure the fan is on and even open up the window when cooking on it. We had breakfast plans for the morning, so we did not get a chance to try out the breakfast that is provided by the hotel. We did pass by the dining area on our way to and from the room, and it looks really nice. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Overall the property was okay and a value for the money. With that said, few if any staff were noted and the overall building was not maintained highly clean. In addition, while the room we had was spacious with some nice features (jetted tub and kitchenette) the bed, which should be the focus of the stay, was extremely uncomfortable.

The tv turned on but that was all it would do. The bathroom light didn’t work the tub drain wouldn’t stay up while showering there was a broken smoke alarm left in the room. The knob by the stove had no knob and there was a random lid left in the cupboard. Also the bed was extremely hard.

The manager was friendly and kind and greeted us warmly on check-in, which was fast. Unfortunately, the property was in state of general disrepair. The hot tub and pool were out of order even though we had called earlier in the day and inquired about them. There was dog poop in the parking lot that I almost stepped in. The lobby and stairway/hallway had molding that was falling off, orange carpet that makes you dizzy and was soiled with dirt tracked in by guests from outside. Thankfully, the room was in better condition. Bed was comfortable. Everything was in working order in the room. The kitchen floor had not been swept— lots of crumbs and debris on the floor. Full sized fridge was nice to have, although we did not use it. Microwave was fabulous, over the range Whirlpool. Someone nearby had TV on till about 3 am , which was annoying. It was otherwise quiet.

Nice facility, had small kitchen with fridge, microwave, sink and cook top. Price was great.

The owners and staff are extremely friendly, professional, kind and expeditious! They are in the process of remodeling and upgrading the entire hotel and the entire property. So it is A3 rating at the moment but will soon be a five-star establishment

They had changed the name and all their signage was changed so it was a little hard to find. I finally walked in and asked if they knew where my correct hotel was. That’s how I found it. Front desk guy seemed like I was annoying him by being there. His friend on the phone continued to talk through my check in. Hotel was pretty dirty with a lot of mattresses and other garbage in the hallways. Pool and hot tub were “temporarily closed” but it looked like it had been that way for a long time now and want going to change. Not much seating for breakfast but not many options so it helped motivate you to leave. No bacon or sausage and the eggs were swimming in water

Seems like they are starting to update with paint and carpet, but the towels weren't very fluffy and the bathroom mirror was dirty. The sitting chair was very stained. The air was constant run and seemed extra loud to me. The desk staff was hard to find. Not the best stay for me.

It was a fantastic stay, the staff very helpful, and friendly. It was quiet and peaceful. The hotel is in a safe area and convenient for restaraunts and gas. Will stay again next time in the area

I was traveling as a single woman and felt very safe!

Beat my expectations by a lot. Perfectly fine place to stay. Sometimes extended-stay or these types of budget efficiencies leave a lot to be desired for those of us looking for clean, safe and comfortable accommodations for a night or two.

Had to wait a little bit for someone to come to the front desk. Luggage carts were coming apart. Booked into a handicapped room which we did not request. breakfast would have been better is someone had been checking on the food that was available. we were there for at least 20 minutes and no one came by. There were probably 2 bites of eggs left, 2 muffins. Place needs some loving care.

Just looking for a place to get off the road for the night. Room was nice, comfortable bed although upholstery on desk chair was delaminating and looked like a cat scratching post. Check in took nearly 20 minutes. Only one clerk and she was dealing with a guest with numerous issues on a corporate account. Hallways smell heavily of cigarette smoke. Hot breakfast was not hot. I threw away a plate of scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy because they were barely luke warm, between 100 and 110 degrees. Construction crews staying there were microwaving their hot breakfast to get it up to temperature. Worked fine for my need of a bivouac, would not choose if I had to make a business or pleasure trip to the area.

The continental breakfast was sparse at best. Coffee, a tiny bagel, muffin or biscuit or cereal. The sign said “free hot breakfast”. If you wanted anything hot, you could put it in the toaster or microwave.

If I could give a negative star, I would. DO NOT STAY. I realized when I booked it was a low rate but you can still find decent rooms at reasonable rates. Not here. They advertised free breakfast, they have pictures showing waffle machine. The front desk at check confirmed oatmeal, cereal and breakfast sandwiches because the health department shut down their kitchen due to only having 1 sink. I should've asked for a refund right then and there and tried to book elsewhere but availability was limited due to a local event. Owner is rude, doesn't care to give a proper service or acknowledge they advertised wrong. His motor you get what you paid for and doesn't care to give a better service or strive to make a person stay better. Bugs in the room, bed was extremely hard. Didn't use pool or fitness area as we were there for a limited time. Save your money and go elsewhere. It is hotels like this, who give owners of smaller hotels, a harder time to succeed because service like this, really makes a person only go to big corporate hotels and not give mom and pop hotels a chance to succeed.

It is the process of being remodeled. It sounded like people were installing carpet upstairs all night. At breakfast there were no eggs, the sausage were barely warm and the orange juice was watered down.

Breakfast was terrible. The biscuits were so hard and gravy watery still couldn't cut with a knife. You could let professional baseball players use them for batting practice. The TV and phone didn't work had to get front desk clerk to follow me to room and she did fix it.
