We stayed here 11 years ago when our kids were little and loved every bit of our stay, this time we booked even more nights and still the same, relaxing, wonderful people. Love the onsen! The river view. There used to be large koi fish in the river that you can see right from the rooms, now they are further up the stream. The place is well kept, very clean. It rained for 2 days when we were visiting, I love that they had shoe dryer available. I also left my shoes on the shoe shelves and they were able to locate it and deliver to me in Tokyo the next day. I’m so grateful. We will definitely stay there again next time we visit Japan.

Helpful, friendly and informative staff. Fully appreciate the traditional architecture and warm atmosphere of a historical building. The well equipped public kitchen provides guests with the flexibility of preparing their own meals. Reminds me of dormitory experience back in University good old days. Room is large and comfortable. The only complaint is an additional charge for the outdoor onsen. One final note is guests of upper floors are required to carry their own luggage climbing up a steep wooden staircase to their rooms

The front desk was very welcoming. Spotless onsen. Charming environment! Good coffee in the kitchen. The lounge areas downstairs were welcoming and overlooked the river. Good location too.

Traditional and authentic hot spring inn on a buget. Sufficiant self-service amenities available, including a communal kitchen, laundry, and make your own bed/futon system. Walls are thin (due to the age of the building) but was not bad at all, and complimentary earplugs are provided in the room. Stayed in a private room with shower, toilet, sink and a mini fridge. Beautiful view of the river from the room. Would love to stay again.

Lugar muy bonito, tanto el establecimiento como los alrededores. Eso sí, siendo un Ryokan, debes atenerte a los ruidos causados por la madera. Yo me quedé en una habitación mixta y no tuve ningún problema. Tiene todas las amenidades necesarias para tu estancia corta o larga. (Lavadora, microondas, platos, cocina, lugar para consumir tus alimentos, ...) El personal MUY MUY amable. Me dió pena pero en mi estancia solo una tarde que regresé en recepción estaba un chavo y estaba bastante guapo jajajaja. Y me dió pena cómo preguntar su nombre y empezar a hacer plática. Niii modos el que nos arriesga no gana. Regresando al estacionamiento TODO EXCELENTE.

Beautiful old Japanese style hotel. Aromatic wood everywhere. Great onsen (indoor hot spring mineral bath) experience. Spotlessly clean. You will sleep on mats on the floor but they are quite comfortable.

Ecvellent sejour dans ce ryokan : excellent accueil, le batiment est magnifique a l'interieur (melange de pierre et de bois), a chambre choisie proposait une belle vue sur la riviere, les espaces communs sont propres, complets et tres agreables... mention speciale pour les differents onsens a l'interieur (2 publics reservés aux hommes ou femmes et utilisable quelque soit l'heure, 2 prives pour 2 personnes utilisables sans réservation s'ils sont dispos) qui sont superbes et reposants Une excellent sejour qui donne largement envie de rester plus longtemps !

Not too far from Ito station, about 10 mins on foot. You can easily find restaurants, shops, parks in walking distance. There are public and private onsen for your preference, the condition is nice. Room is spacious tidy and neat. Staffs are kind helpful friendly no language barrier. For the cons there are two things you might mind, as the architecture is old, the door, ceiling, floor which is made of wood emit annoying sounds, it may affects your sleeping quality as those sounds are very clear especially at night. Second thing is the building comprises of 3 floors and there are no elevators so if you have bulky luggage you have to lift it up carefully on your own(or you may seek help from staffs they are more than happy to offer you a help though).

The inn's historic nature was very interesting, the view from our window out onto the river was beautiful, the staff were very helpful and friendly and the onsen was quite good. The room was of course older, but relatively clean and had beautiful workmanship in the shoji doors and kumiko as well as the wood trim and ceiling. It definitely is more of a budget accommodation but it didn't feel that way because of the vibe of the entire inn with its spacious common areas. Sleeping on the tatami in futons together with the entire family reminded my mother of her summer holiday's spent at her grandmother's house in rural Japan. We would highly recommend this accommodation for the price!

Ryokan très beau. Le onsen un peu moins, très petit et sombre. La chambre était vraiment spacieuse avec un balcon donnant sur la rivière. Le personnel est sympa. Pas de changement de serviettes, ce qui était un peu dommage.

This hostel is over 100 years old and feels like being inside a piece of art or a museum. Every little detail is aesthetic to the decorations and set up from the lounge areas, to the rooms which each have their own tasteful decor, to even the bathrooms and the tiled shared sinks. The location right over the river is just breathtaking as well. The private and public onsens are just lovely as well and the staff are very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend coming here even if it is just to enjoy this building.

Its my second stay here. It is very good , but better the first time , the private room was surprisingly much noiser than the share room i had last time . Noise through the walls , could easily here people talking loud and snoring, noise at 3am 4am 5am from floor above . Still , probably id come back , but only ina shared room which strangely was quieter.

Loved the authentic traditional and very beautiful architecture, public and private onsen, superior quality of onsen water, view from the room, balcony, kitchen, downstairs lobby, staff. WiFi works fine. The building is wooden and old; the windows rattle in the wind, the floor creaks, etc. If you are afraid of ghosts, you might wonder at the noises the building makes at night. Best to use the public onsen for shaving and rituals in fornt of the mirror. Choice of squat or western toilet is nice. My favorite lodging in Japan, overall. If only the futon were a little softer.

We stayed here 11 years ago when our kids were little and loved every bit of our stay, this time we booked even more nights and still the same, relaxing, wonderful people. Love the onsen! The river view. There used to be large koi fish in the river that you can see right from the rooms, now they are further up the stream. The place is well kept, very clean. It rained for 2 days when we were visiting, I love that they had shoe dryer available. I also left my shoes on the shoe shelves and they were able to locate it and deliver to me in Tokyo the next day. I’m so grateful. We will definitely stay there again next time we visit Japan.

Helpful, friendly and informative staff. Fully appreciate the traditional architecture and warm atmosphere of a historical building. The well equipped public kitchen provides guests with the flexibility of preparing their own meals. Reminds me of dormitory experience back in University good old days. Room is large and comfortable. The only complaint is an additional charge for the outdoor onsen. One final note is guests of upper floors are required to carry their own luggage climbing up a steep wooden staircase to their rooms

The building itself is considered a historical landmark by Japan. The hosts were super friendly and welcoming and spoke multiple languages aside from just English and Japanese. The beds could’ve been a bit more comfortable but other than that the rest of the experience was very relaxing. It’s also a 5 minute walk from the beach. I will definitely be staying here when I come back to Japan.

This hostel is over 100 years old and feels like being inside a piece of art or a museum. Every little detail is aesthetic to the decorations and set up from the lounge areas, to the rooms which each have their own tasteful decor, to even the bathrooms and the tiled shared sinks. The location right over the river is just breathtaking as well. The private and public onsens are just lovely as well and the staff are very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend coming here even if it is just to enjoy this building.

Ecvellent sejour dans ce ryokan : excellent accueil, le batiment est magnifique a l'interieur (melange de pierre et de bois), a chambre choisie proposait une belle vue sur la riviere, les espaces communs sont propres, complets et tres agreables... mention speciale pour les differents onsens a l'interieur (2 publics reservés aux hommes ou femmes et utilisable quelque soit l'heure, 2 prives pour 2 personnes utilisables sans réservation s'ils sont dispos) qui sont superbes et reposants Une excellent sejour qui donne largement envie de rester plus longtemps !

Not too far from Ito station, about 10 mins on foot. You can easily find restaurants, shops, parks in walking distance. There are public and private onsen for your preference, the condition is nice. Room is spacious tidy and neat. Staffs are kind helpful friendly no language barrier. For the cons there are two things you might mind, as the architecture is old, the door, ceiling, floor which is made of wood emit annoying sounds, it may affects your sleeping quality as those sounds are very clear especially at night. Second thing is the building comprises of 3 floors and there are no elevators so if you have bulky luggage you have to lift it up carefully on your own(or you may seek help from staffs they are more than happy to offer you a help though).

Lugar muy bonito, tanto el establecimiento como los alrededores. Eso sí, siendo un Ryokan, debes atenerte a los ruidos causados por la madera. Yo me quedé en una habitación mixta y no tuve ningún problema. Tiene todas las amenidades necesarias para tu estancia corta o larga. (Lavadora, microondas, platos, cocina, lugar para consumir tus alimentos, ...) El personal MUY MUY amable. Me dió pena pero en mi estancia solo una tarde que regresé en recepción estaba un chavo y estaba bastante guapo jajajaja. Y me dió pena cómo preguntar su nombre y empezar a hacer plática. Niii modos el que nos arriesga no gana. Regresando al estacionamiento TODO EXCELENTE.

Beautiful historical ryokan provides a unique and comfortable stay to experience Japanese culture at its finest. Stayed in a private room with a family of four and very much enjoyed the shared onsen, kitchen, and living areas. Very quiet and respectful guests.

Its my second stay here. It is very good , but better the first time , the private room was surprisingly much noiser than the share room i had last time . Noise through the walls , could easily here people talking loud and snoring, noise at 3am 4am 5am from floor above . Still , probably id come back , but only ina shared room which strangely was quieter.

* Our hostel is registered as a tangible cultural property of Japan, therefore we ask you to use our facilities with great care and appreciation.
* Our hostel is a 100 year old wooden structure. We apologize for any inconvenience caused from squeaking floorboards or voices from neighboring rooms.
* Our hostel is primarily for individual travelers. For that reason, we may not be able to accommodate a group of 10 people or more.
* Dormitory rooms have the following age restrictions: - guests 16 years of age and below cannot be accommodated.
* K's House Ito Onsen is a NON-SMOKING property. This policy is strictly enforced.
-Kids rates-
The rates for 6 years old or over are same as adults.
0 - 5 years old children sharing beds with parents stay free.
Cancellation policy for regular season
We require 48 hours notice of cancellation or any changes to your reservation prior to your scheduled arrival otherwise we will charge you a cancellation fee as below.
* no cancellation fee if you cancel by 23:59 JST on 3 days before your scheduled arrival.
* 30% of your first night will be charged if you cancell after 0:00 JST on 2 days before your scheduled arrival.
* 50% of your first night will be charged if you cancel after 0:00 JST on the day before your scheduled arrival.
* 100% of your first night will be charged if you cancel after 0:00 on your scheduled arrival day or in the event of a 'no show'.
