The restaurant and bar which were advertised as facilities were closed for renovation with no notice of works. This meant after arriving we were unable to have an evening meal. The nearest pub was 20 mins drive. Breakfast was awful with take away cup, no fruit pastries or yoghurt. Very poor. Cleanliness, awful. Desk had coffee stains, sink had somebody's facial hair and shower curtain was covered in what looked like blue shower gel.

Very helpful and friendly team. Room larger than expected. Bed was king size rather than a double and very comfortable. Bathroom very clean. Parking available. Overall excellent value. On the negative side, the Wifi is awful but it is being upgraded. And the reception for my.mobile was hit and miss.

The hotel itself is still under renovation, but the room was clean and well put together. The room did not have any aircon or fan, and we visited when it was very warm and the rooms were so hot. Restaurant not open yet and there is nothing around that is walkable to get food.

No housecleaning, the SPA not open, no restaurant even if it said "restaurant - on site), very hard beds..... Unfortunately they had a wedding last night that went out of control with vandalising, fights, KNIFE-FIGHTS, kithcen closed due to broken glass and blood in the restaurant.....

Easy to find with ample parking on site and near to the entrance. A wonderful lobby area with the restaurant to the right and checking in immediately to your left. On checking in, I was told that breakfast was not booked with the stay which I queried and then had to prove via the original booking confirmation that it was booked with it. Next issue was the air-con unit. Although it wasn't a hot day, it was very humid which warmed up the room to make it uncomfortable. The unit displayed a message to say control was done centrally and the front desk said they would have someone to sort it out within 30 minutes. This never happened which led to an uncomfortable night's sleep. The room itself was tastefully done with a proper office chair at the desk for once. The shower was fantastic and very invigorating. Breakfast was delicious with everything cooked just right. Overall, this stay should have been close to a 5 star rated stay but too many little issues dragged it down when they could easily have been overcome. I would definitely look to stay here again though knowing how good it could be.

Good location for those taking exams at the Romford center, however beds we extremely uncomfortable! Size of rooms were good though compared the prison cell like rooms at the spark Hilton. Another plus was the parking was free too.

A clear contractors hotel carpark full of vans taking 4 spaces each so parking was a challenge. Front desk welcome poor. When they ask for a damage deposit before check in it says it all. TV did not work. The sink was plug not working properly. People smoking in other rooms. There was rubbish outside my window and saw rats there no hairdryer in the room had to call reception to bring me one,This made me late in the morning so I could not have breakfast. I tried to cancel my breakfast and the guy on the reception said it would be difficult to get my refund back to which I was pretty annoyed about as wel. I did ask reception if I could move rooms they said there was none available but when I checked on various different hotel brokers I found thoat rooms were available so the guy on reception actually told a lie.I’m sorry to say this all about my experience but it’s the truth. Don’t normally feedback but I just thought the owners should know.

Ideal location for what we wanted. Lovely clean hotel, recently renovated. Had just reopened when we visited, so a few teething issues, ran out of a lot of drinks, not enough breakfasts for people that had reserved a breakfast. Hotel was sold out due to Chelmsford part in the park. Overall lovely stay, some nice restaurants and bars,cafes close by.

You need to take this hotel off your website. Its awful! Firstly, the area it is in is not nice. I felt unsafe the moment I arrived and I made sure I parked my car as close to the entrance as possible. The room stunk of weed! There was a guest screaming and shouting in one of the rooms next to mine. The bed sheets and pillow were dirty. The decor in the reception area and the restaurant is very very ugly. The restaurant was badly managed. My Wagu burger, although tasty was dripping with blood. The service for breakfast was awful. I wanted some granola for breakfast only to be told the had ran out of milk!!! What hotels run out of milk?? The staff looked stressed especially at breakfast. I left without having any breakfast that I had paid for. Without doubt the the worst hotel I've ever stayed in! Honestly, take this off your website your customers deserve better!

Nice, clean and renovated (building work is still going on in hotel grounds). Free parking. It has a ground floor and first floor but doesn’t have a lift (we did not have heavy suitcases so no problem for us). The only thing to highlight is that there is no room AC or central air conditioning. So staying in summer months when outside temperature is hot can be uncomfortable. Bed was queen size and comfortable, room was spacious and clean.

Sound-proofing not good. I could still hear conversations in the early hours of the morning. When I awoke the next day at 06.45, the talking was still audible. I stayed at this hotel to be close to my work in Chelmsford. The breakfast was good but a 07.00 start would be better, especially for the next few years while the new Gallows Corner is being built.

When we arrived we were given a different room to the one we had booked, we were advised that hotels.com had uploaded the incorrect pictures and we only had a standard room. We asked if we could upgrade and were told all the rooms were the same and none were available. The room was small, and after 30 minutes our TV stopped working and we could get no wifi. We complained to another member of staff who said she would upgrade us, which was unexpected as we were told earlier all rooms were the same and no other rooms were available, we were then told that we were given the wrong room. We moved upstairs and the room was alot bigger but the air con did not work. We were given a fan, but didnt have a good nights sleep as the curtains were far too small to fit the whole window and were not black out. We booked for 2 nights but only stayed one. Wouldnt return

It started off great. I had a 3 night stay and the first 2 nights were good other than not being able to use netflix or anything like that on the telly. But overall a good night sleep. Then along came the Gypsy wedding. All i can say is i got little to no sleep. Had to keep checking on my car as there was no control over the party till after the police came. Doors being kicked hotel getting smashed up. It was definitely by far the worst experience in a hotel ever. And i stay in alot of hotels due to work. So safe to say i will never come back here again which was a shame as the first couple of days were a nice comfortable stay.

TV did not work. The sink was plug not working properly. People smoking in other rooms. There was rubbish outside my window and saw rats there no hairdryer in the room had to call reception to bring me one,This made me late in the morning so I could not have breakfast. I tried to cancel my breakfast and the guy on the reception said it would be difficult to get my refund back to which I was pretty annoyed about as wel. I had a great stay at the palms. I stayed for four days for a wedding event that took place in the event center. The staff were warm and most especially Nicholas at the front office also the housekeeping team that came in every morning for the room cleaning. The entire team was helpful. The Palms is near Harold Wood station, where you get on the Elizabeth line to take you to Heathrow airport or connect other places in the UK. Amber cabs are available to take you to the train stations or anywhere you want to go. Overall, I had an amazing time and will definitely visit again.

Very helpful and friendly team. Room larger than expected. Bed was king size rather than a double and very comfortable. Bathroom very clean. Parking available. Overall excellent value. On the negative side, the Wifi is awful but it is being upgraded. And the reception for my.mobile was hit and miss.

Arrived for a late evening check in to be told that due to an 'IT Glitch' they were overbooked and had no rooms available. Several other guests were in the same boat. Reception were unhelpful and shrugged it off as not their problem - despite people being stranded in Hornchurch with no local hotels available.

I had an appalling experience at this hotel. On arrival at 10 p.m., I was told the systems were down and my booking couldn’t be honoured. The staff were dismissive and unhelpful, offering nothing beyond, “the computer is down, we cannot give you a room.” By the time I managed to log on to a computer at 10.30, every nearby hotel was fully booked. With zero assistance from the hotel, I was forced to secure alternative accommodation at more than double the original cost and a 30-minute drive away. To make matters worse, the hotel has still failed to issue a refund. An utterly unacceptable way to treat paying guests.

The hotel itself is still under renovation, but the room was clean and well put together. The room did not have any aircon or fan, and we visited when it was very warm and the rooms were so hot. Restaurant not open yet and there is nothing around that is walkable to get food.

Ideal location for what we wanted. Lovely clean hotel, recently renovated. Had just reopened when we visited, so a few teething issues, ran out of a lot of drinks, not enough breakfasts for people that had reserved a breakfast. Hotel was sold out due to Chelmsford part in the park. Overall lovely stay, some nice restaurants and bars,cafes close by.

Easy to find with ample parking on site and near to the entrance. A wonderful lobby area with the restaurant to the right and checking in immediately to your left. On checking in, I was told that breakfast was not booked with the stay which I queried and then had to prove via the original booking confirmation that it was booked with it. Next issue was the air-con unit. Although it wasn't a hot day, it was very humid which warmed up the room to make it uncomfortable. The unit displayed a message to say control was done centrally and the front desk said they would have someone to sort it out within 30 minutes. This never happened which led to an uncomfortable night's sleep. The room itself was tastefully done with a proper office chair at the desk for once. The shower was fantastic and very invigorating. Breakfast was delicious with everything cooked just right. Overall, this stay should have been close to a 5 star rated stay but too many little issues dragged it down when they could easily have been overcome. I would definitely look to stay here again though knowing how good it could be.

Good location for those taking exams at the Romford center, however beds we extremely uncomfortable! Size of rooms were good though compared the prison cell like rooms at the spark Hilton. Another plus was the parking was free too.

You need to take this hotel off your website. Its awful! Firstly, the area it is in is not nice. I felt unsafe the moment I arrived and I made sure I parked my car as close to the entrance as possible. The room stunk of weed! There was a guest screaming and shouting in one of the rooms next to mine. The bed sheets and pillow were dirty. The decor in the reception area and the restaurant is very very ugly. The restaurant was badly managed. My Wagu burger, although tasty was dripping with blood. The service for breakfast was awful. I wanted some granola for breakfast only to be told the had ran out of milk!!! What hotels run out of milk?? The staff looked stressed especially at breakfast. I left without having any breakfast that I had paid for. Without doubt the the worst hotel I've ever stayed in! Honestly, take this off your website your customers deserve better!

The hotel rooms are very nice, clean... Newly refurbished. Breakfast is the worst I have ever encountered!!.. No coffee, they had run out of beans for the machine. No coffee or tea on the second morning. Only 2 fresh juices, once empty were not refilled. No fresh fruit, no yogurt, no pastries, no variety of milks for cereals. No jams, or honey or marmalade for toast... Only butter or marmite. Cooked breakfast took 45 minutes as there was only one chef... Tables were not cleared. Glasses for juice ran out. Only one young man taking orders and serving and fielding complaints.... Non of this was his fault.... He tried to contact his managers who didn't return his calls... In the end people were turned away from the restaurant even if they had paid for breakfast as the remaining chef had left the kitchen. A refund will be persued by the four of us that spent 2 nights there!!

Clean and bed comfortable. TV did not work and shower water pressure poor. If water pressure cannot be improved suggest separate hand held shower to wash more completely. Worst of all was the breakfast Gestapo... Ridiculous... Sort your act out and let this guy focus on customer service

The restaurant and bar which were advertised as facilities were closed for renovation with no notice of works. This meant after arriving we were unable to have an evening meal. The nearest pub was 20 mins drive. Breakfast was awful with take away cup, no fruit pastries or yoghurt. Very poor. Cleanliness, awful. Desk had coffee stains, sink had somebody's facial hair and shower curtain was covered in what looked like blue shower gel.

Sound-proofing not good. I could still hear conversations in the early hours of the morning. When I awoke the next day at 06.45, the talking was still audible. I stayed at this hotel to be close to my work in Chelmsford. The breakfast was good but a 07.00 start would be better, especially for the next few years while the new Gallows Corner is being built.

Staff friendly, room spacious and clean, bar area very nice. Breakfast although a good selection was poor. I asked for 1 poached egg on a toasted muffin first one was more like a hard boiled egg so sent this back, second one not much better.

No air conditioning a big let down as only small windows in room. tea making was good but no tea spoons! adnacent guests kept us up all night and would not respond to be quiet. Bar area had no slopes for people with wheel chairs or walkers so not an invalid friendly hotel. Asked for room near entrance but was still accomadated a long way off.

Terrible establishment with horrible staff. Hotel.com should not have these places listed. The room was 40 degrees and I was told they could only give me a little fan. The parking was not free which was not made clear. The staff couldn’t help with anything and there was no manager on site. I had to get out after 20 minutes of stay to go find another hotel before it was too late and never got a refund for this. Terrible experience- stay away from this place
