When I walked in there was a smell that I didn’t recognize. Didn’t really think about it. The next morning I woke up to “sick” roaches on the counter! I captured them in a cup and took them to the front desk. My first question was did you spray for roaches! And he said yes! Which was what I smelled coming into the hotel! They knew they had roaches yet didn’t disclose this information! I said that would have been nice to know so I could have prepare so that I didn’t have to worry about taking them home with me! He said “well, they are almost dead, what do you want”. I wanted a refund but he refused! He doesn’t care about customer safety! Just money! He knows he has roaches and instead of just shutting down for a couple days to completely make sure he gets rid of them he just covers up the problem. Plus he advises a pool but the first sign you see when walking in is “Pool Permanently Closed”. There is no way this hotel is rated a 5 star hotel! IT HAS ROACHES!

The hotel is about 2 miles off the interstate, which was nice not to hear the traffic. The desk clerk was amazing, very friendly and helpful. We were on the 2nd floor, unfortunately there is no elevator, but the stairs were not that steep. Our room was clean & the bed was very comfortable. The only bad thing was a thunderstorm rolled in during the middle of the night and woke me up. If I am driving thru Illinois again, I would definitely stay here again.

The property was good. Small town feel. Nothing super fancy but nice. The pool was under construction. Had a humid feel inside. AC and air filter would be nice. Excellent price for a great stay. Our cards broke and had trouble getting into the room.

The room was very good. Shower felt great after a long day officiating a wrestling tournament. Bed was very comfortable. Parking was literally right outside my room door for easy access.

We were disappointed the pool is not working. It looked like it hasn’t worked for awhile. Front desk said it just broke down. Don’t believe that is true. We paid already so had no choice but to stay. Policy is no refunds. Hotel breakfast was just package donuts etc. Most likely Would not stay here in future.

The hotel provides a place to sleep but not much more. The bath towels had bleached blood stains, the fitted sheet was on inside out and stained. The pillow cases all had tiny stains on them and the white hand towels came in a variety of shades of tan/brown. The overall smell of stale smoke and air freshener was also difficult to take. Overall, a safe place to sleep but poor condition for the value.

All was good and fine when it came to the room except one thing (talked about later). The staff was exceptionally cordial and the continental breakfast was fine. The room was good and pleasant and clean except for one noticeable fact. I noticed mouse droppings around the bathroom sink and upon further investigation with management discovered that the mice may have came down through the ceiling via the opening(s) around the florescent light fixture. Hopefully, it will get taken care of prior to the next guest in this room.

Hotel is very outdated. Linens, towels etc were worn and had stains all over. We got the non-smoking room but the room reeked of cigarettes and what appeared to be someone spraying febreeze to attempt make it smell nicer. Some pillows were rock hard when the rest are flat. I do not recommend this hotel.

Pretty disappointed in the hotel. There were mold/mildew spots on the ceiling, a brown water stain on the ceiling in the bathroom. The refrigerator was dirty and unusable, and it just did not feel clean. The TV despite good weather kept cutting out and freezing when I complained the manager Said they would fix it tomorrow. The hallway carpet looked like it had not been vacuumed in sometime and the breakfast was primarily packaged donuts, machine dispensed coffee and cereal.

After driving 13 hours, we found ONE hotel and booked it. We drove 35 minutes out of our way to get there, and when we checked in the front desk woman told us there was no rooms available and to “call whoever I booked with”. I waited 30 mins for Expedia to call me back, they called the hotel and the hotel then says “oh we have a room for her” after we already started driving an hour to a new hotel..all at 11pm after driving all day. I am absolutely furious with how this was all handled.

The room was clean. However, the hotel employed a very strong plug in air freshener which was very overwhelming. My bags and clothes smelled from it for days after only on night. Only saw staff at check in. I would stay there again only if they had a room without the air freshener cover up.

Our towels had holes and were yellow/gray. Even though the "do not disturb" sign was out, they went into the room. We had a knock on our door at 9am day of check-out and desk personnel ask if we were going to check out soon. RUDE!

The guy at the front desk was amazing, so polite and helpful. We had the family room with 3 queen beds and all were comfortable. We found an M & M on the counter, must have been under the edge of the coffee tray, none of us had M & M's so the cleaning crew missed that, otherwise fine for a quick nights sleep. Breakfast was nothing spectacular but enough to get us through to lunch on the road. FYI to hotel, I think those croissant sandwiches are supposed to be kept frozen until prepared, not refrigerated.

Room was very clean. Sheets smelled fresh. Very quiet neighborhood and nice little town. Lady at front desk very nice and helpful! Breakfast was about what I expected, not great just adequate.

Clean room, bring your own pillow because those were terrible. Pool was closed while I was there. Breakfast was mostly cereal. Sounds like a bad review, but honestly it's fine if you just need a place to stay the night.

I stayed the night in the king suite with the jetted tub with my two kids and we had a blast. The room was super clean, smelled fantastic and the gentleman at the desk was very friendly and helpful. He recommended a restaurant nearby called Sweetpeas, which was amazing. The pool was very clean, the breakfast wasn't bad. Typical cereal, yogurt, breakfast sandwiches, ect. We will definitely stay there again at some point. The town is a nice, friendly place with a gigantic Dollar Tree store. We had a great experience. Even my 11 year old thought it was wonderful and kids are tough critics.

We were disappointed the pool is not working. It looked like it hasn’t worked for awhile. Front desk said it just broke down. Don’t believe that is true. We paid already so had no choice but to stay. Policy is no refunds. Hotel breakfast was just package donuts etc. Most likely Would not stay here in future.

This had a very comfortable king-size bed. This had the BEST shower in all of the hotels we stayed in for over 20 days of travel. Great water pressure, the 'bigger' toilet, and quite a good breakfast - EXCEPT NO quick oatmeal available! The ONE place I liked their coffee (extra strong) so I could at least taste the coffee!!! Oh, and NO raison brain cereal......odd!!

The nightstands were Very dusty!! The tub wasn’t clean, sign said the back door was always kept locked but it never was when we went in and out, and no one at front desk in the morning and out of coffee .

Room smelled of mildew when I got in. Phone was completely unhooked, handset AND phone itself. The air conditioner rattled and didn't do a very good job at keeping the room cool. The upholstery on the desk chair was completely worn in. I was not a fan of eating in my room. The toilet also had issues flushing, the lever wouldn't go until I opened the lid and flushed it. I found out in the morning that it did NOT reset from this flush. Very fun. Not sure how the hotel would have handled it if I brought any of these issues to them - there were no other rooms available and I just wanted to go to bed. So to my fault, I did not speak to them about these things. With how the mildew smell was, I would be shocked if housekeeping didn't figure out there was an issue and it was very likely ignored. Personally would not stay here again.
