The shower was huge and very nicely remodeled. The pool and hot tube were nice but small. The bed was true queen size but not that comfortable. Staff was wonderful and we enjoyed the free coffee, mochas, lattes, popcorn and slushies. It’s a big set of stairs to get to the beach, however it was a very short walk to the beach and warf.

We love Beach Street Inn and Suites! This was our second time staying—first in a poolside room with two queens, and most recently in the beach suite house, which was spacious with a stunning ocean view. The patio was a game changer, though we do wish it was fully private. Still, highly recommend! The pool is heated, the Jacuzzi is relaxing, and the fire pit area is a cozy bonus. The staff is always kind and helpful. On-site laundry may not seem like a vacation priority, but it made packing easier and returning home less stressful. Gated parking adds peace of mind—open during the day, secured at night. You can walk everywhere: the beach is steps away, and there are great coffee shops, restaurants, and the Boardwalk nearby. We only drove twice—once to Buttery Bakery (delicious desserts!) and once to Lillian’s Italian Restaurant, which was nearby and absolutely incredible. Our entire party of eight left full and happy. All in all, we can’t wait to book our next trip back here!

We loved our stay here. The pool area was great for kids and the surrounding pool area was a lovely spot to sit and watch with an outdoor fire. The rooms were spacious and the staff were lovely. Having access to the free laundry was a nice surprise. I really wish we had more days here

Right next to the beach. Staff was super friendly. Also an amazing hot tub and heated pool. The pool didn't feel hot but maybe because it's early May. The room was beautiful with a view of the waves crashing. A bunch of restaurants close by so if you pay for the parking you can walk almost anywhere. We we definitely return and stay again

Very cute motel, walking distance to the wharf and other small restaurants/shops. Pool, jacuzzi, firepit, coffee in am, popcorn in evening, easy parking, easy access, free laundry facility onsite (incl detergent). Laid back town.

Great stay. Rolled in early enough to enjoy the beach and boardwalk. Found a great parking spot $20/night in their lot above where the pool hot tub and office are. They have coffee, snow cones, and popcorn until 9PM. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was surprisingly clean and roomy. Microwave, fridge, TV, plenty of lighting and outlets. No utencils or platware, but had glasses. Laundry facilities were clutch - free and they even had detergent and dryer sheets on hand. Total life saver for our younger family of five coming down from Seattle by way of San Francisco. Theres an ice maker, cooler sized ice maker with scoop, and water filteration machine. Our room 105 was right on the aisleway and it was still very quiet (kids loved the garbage truck in the AM). Shared deck was totally fine having people near us. Kids made friends. Right on the start of the Boardwalk location. All the food options around close at 9PM. Pool is heated, hot tub was great, and firepit was warm.

Our go to spot when we visit Santa Cruz! Been coming here for years. Great location with beautiful rooms and views. The hot tub was a little “swampy” this time around and prices keep increasing. Overall a great stay, but might need to explore other options next visit.

We had the room facing the beach on the second level. 2/3 nights woken up by dumpster trucks or some loud noise. There is air condition but not really. Turned it down to 65 and still cooler with the thing off and window opened. The bedding had sand on the corners - not sure why. The rest of the bedding was ok. One of the bed, one side sunk down. Best part of the hotel, the SHOWER.

This was our second time staying at Beach Street Inn and we really enjoy the location and the kitchen. The bed was comfortable and the view is wonderful. The bathroom could use some updating as there was quite a bit of mold buildup along the caulking and the toilet doesn't seem to flush properly. When other tenants flush and the other rooms it affects the toilet in our room. The coffee and tea offerings were wonderful. They even had oat milk creamer for a dairy free option:) We did arrive 2 hours early and unfortunately the room wasn't ready until 4:15 p.m. Not a big deal but it would have been wonderful to get in on time atleast. We will be back!

Came here thinking it would be a great place to stay near the beach. Around 9 pm we started seeing bugs around the kitchen area. For $360 we should not see anything crawling on the kitchen counter. Very very disappointed

Great staff and amazing location and view . The room even though looks updated , I felt wasn’t as clean as I had hoped . The bathroom smelled like urine and I couldn’t figure out where the smell was coming from . The blanket on the Murphy bed had a blood stain or something and we had to ask for new blankets . The deck was amazing and the room layout was good . Took off one star for just the overall cleanliness of the room . I would stay again just for the location and there’s not many suite hotels right on the beach like this in Santa Cruz.

If staying beachside it can be noisy, but that is from outside activity, not on-site. I doubt I'd stay here in the busy summer when people stay out later. Lovely to have a free washer/dryer on site. Every employee encoutered was friendly and courtious. My only complaint is that this property doese not auomatically provide cable TV service. You must have a device that can access chromecast and then choose an app to stream whatever is available on that device. Having no experience with this, I went with a "free" app that then wanted to charge me $40 to install. My bank caught this overseas charge but in declining it my card was blocked. It was a hassle to reinstate. For the prices charged for a room, regular cable service would be much appreciated. I have NEVER experienced this anywhere else. I hope this is not the new trend.

The ocean view is really nice but man il tell u the mattresses are not comfortable at all for the price of 400$ I would of liked a good nite sleep and if ur on the 1st row theres definitely a lot of road noise and homeless screaming and making noises so u can’t keep the door open to hear the ocean . We stay here quite often and the location really works for us. Unfortunately, staying on the first floor of the Beach House was disappointing. The constant noise level from above was annoying and put a damper on our visit. It is still our overall favorite in Santa Cruz. This will be considered prior to our next booking.

We loved the spacious Beach House Suite with ocean views! The room was clean and the beds were all very comfortable. Plenty of pillows to go around for the four of us. The location is perfect, directly across from the beach, pier and boardwalk. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Santa Cruz and the Beach Street Inn have awesome vibes!

Great location and view from the balcony. Spacious clean rooms, newer. Bathroom is nice. Small fridge, sink, counter and microwave in the room. Our room was missing a desk or couch.parking is convenient. Pool looks nice.

The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean. The shower was very large. The pool looked inviting. I did not sleep well however, partly because the outdoor lights shone into the room all night. Shutters blocked most of the light, but light came in from up above. Wonderful spot! staff very responsive until we left and tried getting in touch. We had mysterious charges added to our bill. I have tried to call and haven’t gotten a response back for an explanation. I’m sure they will make this right.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Great location and perfect place for family beach trip. Loved the snack/coffee window that was complimentary. We appreciated the refrigerator/microwave in the room and chairs outside. Would definitely recommend.

The location perfect walking distance to everything. Paula is the one who helped us check in she was amazing and she suggested a restaurant on the pier and she nailed it. Paula has so much knowledge about santa cruz and thing to todo. I would definitely ask her before going out. Can't wait to come back.

Difficulty checking in as we arrived early and asked if we could possibly check-in a little early as we had a busy evening planned. The lady checked and said our room was not ready but would call us as soon as it was ready. No call though. We came back 2 hours later and was told that our room was ready and had been ready for awhile. The new person said, I guess the lady before me forgot to call you. Very disappointing.

The room was nice and the view was top notch. The night staff at the front desk, however, had no knowledge about the whereabouts of a plunger at 11pm. The staff said there wasn’t anyone available until the morning to address a clogged toilet. The staff suggested that we could use the bathroom in the lobby overnight if needed. This is sub-standard service for the price of the room. Sorry we won’t stay here again, nor will we recommend the hotel.

Great place to stay and have easy access to the beach, boardwalk, and wharf. I do suggest booking a room that has the ocean view and balcony, second level if possible for best view of the beach. Plenty of guaranteed parking. The walk to downtown area with all the restaurants is an easy 15 minute walk. Would stay here again

Great little place right across from the beach/pier. Fotos show the view from our room and landscaping as you come in. Rooms are big, with sink, fridge, microwave. Clean, modern, and beachy. Could walk to pier, boardwalk, shops, in just a couple minutes.

Awesome place good location but...... they dont have a coffe maker in the room we stayed..... crazy! I wake up to early and they open the coffee window way to late. And i like dark roast so i usually bring my coffee but nope i couldnt make it and wait till after sun up to drink coffee.

Everyone here from office staff to housekeeping is very friendly. My family enjoyed the complimentary coffee drinks in the AM, snow cones in the afternoon and popcorn in the evenings. The heated spa and pool also a big hit. The only complaint I have (not about the inn) is I wish I had known Santa Cruz shuts down around 8-9 pm. Aside from the bowling alley/bar down the street, everything closes. A lounge/bar area for guests to enjoy after a busy day with family would be nice. Otherwise, I recommend The Beach Street Inn for your family if beach and boardwalk are what you’re looking for.

I love this little hotel. It is clean, the staff is absolutely wonderful, amazing amenities and location. They offer snow cones in the afternoon, popcorn in the evening, fire pit, pool, jacuzzi, and best of all, they have that complementary expresso bar in the morning from 6:00 a.m. till 11:00 a.m. I wish all hotels offered this. It's the little things like this that really make a place special. I am a picky traveler and have traveled all over the world and I completely appreciate quality and friendly staff.

The desk rep was named Nathan I believe, and he was our first great experience of the stay. He was friendly, professional and gave me all the information I needed on the hotel....the surrounding location, shopping, restaurants, and told me how they serve free coffee In their lobby lounge area. I mentioned that because it's a big perk for someone like me, because it wasn't just free percolated coffee, it was lattes, mochas, and espressos included. The view of the beach right outside our balcony was absolutely amazing and the beds were so comfortable. We had the best night's sleep. I definitely recommend this hotel.

Great location off the boardwalk with nice-sized family suite. Smelled of industrial cleaners upon arrival. Good bed and pillows. But terrible noise from guests upstairs owing to thin ceiling. Could not change room. And bathroom fan could not be turned off and wasn’t well cleaned.

Two things to watch out for the free drink bar lattes are loaded with sugar not what I was expecting and the person sleeping near. The AC has almost 0 room to get out of bed and the bedframe has sharp metal that you have to squeeze by to get out I scratched both of my calves.
