The hotel is convenient for shopping and restaurants. It has a unique atmosphere. The parking was a nightmare. You have to park off site and pay extra. There is no air conditioning in the room and it was hot. The door did not have a deadbolt or extra lock for security.

Hotel is in a fantastic location right in the middle of Vail village. It’s easy to imagine you’re in Austria or Switzerland with the European feel of this hotel down to continental breakfast. Overnight parking at the hotel is expensive, like all parking in the center of Vail. We opted to use the main Vail Village garage parking, which was half the price.

This Vail landmark appeals to returning guests who like the old-fashioned ambience. I booked it for 2 nights so I could attend the Vail Dance Festival. The lighting in my room was poor, and the bathroom door did not close all the way. Free breakfast was continental, with no hot options, very carb heavy. For the Hotel's reputation and the price per room, I felt it was a "meh" experience. Parking at the Hotel is $70 a day and nearby parking structure was $65. I was able to use the excellent town bus system to park 15 min away for only $35. I realize this is Vail, not the Hotel. Unloading the car of luggage and moving the car to nearby parking was a hassle. Once you are parked, don't move the car unless you absolutely have to.

This hotel is such an awesome location. In the middle of Vail Village. The rooms are spacious and the bar/restaurant attached is called Pepi’s and it has live music 4-9pm every night in the winter season and it’s fantastic. They have a storage room outside front door to leave your skis overnight which is really convenient. Great stay.

I really enjoyed my time at Gasthof! The room was super comfy, warm, and clean, with a wonderful view of the river. It was super walkable & great location. The breakfast is simple enough — all good meat, cheese, bread, and fruit — but nothing crazy special. The gym has everything that you need & there's 2 hot tubs indoors as well as a steam room and sauna. All super clean.

Personnel in front desk help us by phone to arrive without issues and wait for us outside waving her hands to show the correct path. Friendly people! Hotel in the middle of town! Few steps from gondola 1. Awesome! Food and servers on the restaurant soooo good!

1. There is no AC at all and not mentioned in booking details, Room got to 80F first night. Had to leave deck door open 24hrs a day with a box fan blowing in to cool it off. 2. No lock on door from inside of room 3. Two full size beds with old mattresses that were very uncomfortable. Rolled to middle on both. 3. Lock on bathroom door broken 4. Had to walk half mile from car to hotel with luggage. 5. No parking provided or covered in room cost. Had to pay $75 for 24hrs in public parking half mile away. 6. Only two of three room lamps worked in room 7. No exhaust fan in bathroom. Room stinks bad after someone uses bathroom. 8. Only two upright dinner chairs to sit in 9. Room over garbage pickup for garbage trucks. Woke up to their noise every morning because deck door had to be left open since there is no AC. 10. No refrigerator for food/drinks

Check in was excellent. We arrived early and they took care of our luggage and brought it to the room when it was ready. Very clean room, great balcony to see the whole village. Walking distance to everything!!

This hotel is one of the cornerstone european style gasthofs(hotels) in Vail and it’s well worth staying.The hotel room was very clean and spacious. The bathroom was nice. The beds were very. We had a great overlook of Gore Creek. The staff is highly trained and very friendly. The continental breakfast was very good. The restaurant menu had many options with the main focus of Austrian style food. The prices were comparable to other Vail restaurants. The bar was a great place to hang out and people watch or catch a game. Lastly, the hotel is full of history so if you want to experience Vail then this is the hotel to drop bags and stay a night or two!

The hotel was in the middle of all the action. Great for access to shopping, restaurants, other hotels, and ski slopes in the winter. But it’s a bit noisy if you want to quiet night in your room. It’s an older property so no high def TV or air conditioning. But it’s quaint.

Location perfect, right in the middle of Vail. The rooms were dated but acceptable. Downside; the shower water pressure was bad with water alternating from scalding to freezing continuously while in the shower, the room heating could not be turned down below suffocating and so we had to have the balcony door open all the time to allow cold air into the room, thirdly not withstanding that Pepe’s resturant was excellent for dinner the breakfast offering provided was continental breakfast as advertised but not anywhere near the level or options we should expect when the restaurant is so good for other meals, finally the coffee was like dirty water and look more like tea with no taste. We had to go outside every day to find coffee and bring back to room. Overall good but not great!

Very unprofessional front desk receptionist. Rude, checking out I had to wait for the lady to get off her personal phone call. Very difficult to find the hotel, no signs directing us. No AC in our room on a very hot day. Freaking ghetto place, over priced

I will never book with this hotel again! I had to have emergency surgery and ask for a refund OR to change our dates. I furnished them with a letter from my doctor. They refused both where the other hotels we had booked in Colorado refunded with no hesitation. Very rude staff/manager. Do not recommend.

While the area and room were pretty well kept I have a few concerns. I hadn’t realized that I accidentally booked our room for only one night rather than the two we had planned for. The front desk called me, and were incredibly rude while telling me that we needed to get our stuff out immediately. We rushed back to the room (didn’t even argue at that point since I wasn’t sure what the mistake was), got to our room and couldn’t get in. Called and was told I needed to go back to the front desk to get a new key, which was not explained when they called me originally. Went to the front desk, and was shown the paperwork, and told they would charge me an additional $50, which I said was fine. But the whole time she was so incredibly rude and just terrible. I will not be staying here ever again or recommend to anyone I know. Not a terrible place, but good lord - staff can be much better.

While the area and room were pretty well kept I have a few concerns. I hadn’t realized that I accidentally booked our room for only one night rather than the two we had planned for. The front desk called me, and were incredibly rude while telling me that we needed to get our stuff out immediately. We rushed back to the room (didn’t even argue at that point since I wasn’t sure what the mistake was), got to our room and couldn’t get in. Called and was told I needed to go back to the front desk to get a new key, which was not explained when they called me originally. Went to the front desk, and was shown the paperwork, and told they would charge me an additional $50, which I said was fine. But the whole time she was so incredibly rude and just terrible. I will not be staying here ever again or recommend to anyone I know. Not a terrible place, but good lord - staff can be much better.

The hotel is convenient for shopping and restaurants. It has a unique atmosphere. The parking was a nightmare. You have to park off site and pay extra. There is no air conditioning in the room and it was hot. The door did not have a deadbolt or extra lock for security.

EXCELLENT LOCATION AND GREAT RATE FOR VAIL!!!! Just a 3 minute walk from the Vail Transportation Center to catch the FREE BUSES and shuttle to the Grand Hyatt!! Updated bathrooms were nice and wood outdoor deck was awesome!! Highly recommend!!!

Hotel was great and affordable for the location. Perfect location in the heart of Vail Village. Close to everything we wanted to do. Rooms were a little warm in the summer but with the box fan we were a little more comfortable. Maintenance was quick to fix the one issue we did have. Complimentary breakfast was great to have considering price of everything else nearby!! Would definitely book this hotel again.

Beautiful hotel with so much charm. Live music downstairs, Incredible European continental breakfast. Very comfortable beds and soft linens. Exceptional front desk support. Located in the middle of the village, so it was walkable to the gondola and shops. Parking is not easy nor accessible. There is no air conditioning. Leaving the patio doors open for cooling wasn't an option because the balcony connects with neighboring balconies and it didn't feel like a safe idea. Overall, I loved this hotel.

Location perfect, right in the middle of Vail. The rooms were dated but acceptable. Downside; the shower water pressure was bad with water alternating from scalding to freezing continuously while in the shower, the room heating could not be turned down below suffocating and so we had to have the balcony door open all the time to allow cold air into the room, thirdly not withstanding that Pepe’s resturant was excellent for dinner the breakfast offering provided was continental breakfast as advertised but not anywhere near the level or options we should expect when the restaurant is so good for other meals, finally the coffee was like dirty water and look more like tea with no taste. We had to go outside every day to find coffee and bring back to room. Overall good but not great!

This hotel is one of the cornerstone european style gasthofs(hotels) in Vail and it’s well worth staying.The hotel room was very clean and spacious. The bathroom was nice. The beds were very. We had a great overlook of Gore Creek. The staff is highly trained and very friendly. The continental breakfast was very good. The restaurant menu had many options with the main focus of Austrian style food. The prices were comparable to other Vail restaurants. The bar was a great place to hang out and people watch or catch a game. Lastly, the hotel is full of history so if you want to experience Vail then this is the hotel to drop bags and stay a night or two!

I really enjoyed my time at Gasthof! The room was super comfy, warm, and clean, with a wonderful view of the river. It was super walkable & great location. The breakfast is simple enough — all good meat, cheese, bread, and fruit — but nothing crazy special. The gym has everything that you need & there's 2 hot tubs indoors as well as a steam room and sauna. All super clean.

Great location and cute rooms- we faced the river and its was nice and quiet. Would have been nice to have a minifridge in the room or at least an ice machine in the hotel. We were told we had to go to the attached bar to get ice which wasn't very convenient nor open all hours. The check in staff was nice- the restaurant and bar staff weren't nice at all. And the food at the restaurant very mediocre and overpriced. The included breakfast was pretty basic- mediocre at best. Hot tub is indoors only.

We were told there would be parking available on the hotel premises. There was, in fact, a garage but was told when we checked in there was no space available and we could check back at night. We had to park quite a walk away and that created a lot of inconvenience for us, not to mention a $60 parking fee. The receptionist was on the phone for quite a bit when we arrived and made no acknowledgment that I was standing right there. I foundhert behavior rude and unwelcoming. At breakfast, while we were eating, there was a woman cleaning all the tables and chairs with a toxic smelling cleaner. We had a balcony room on the first level and saw lots of garbage behind the hotel. I would not stay here again.

Slept with the windows open which was relaxing to hear the trickle from the creek all night, it was a warm summer night but pleasant. Room and bathroom were large! Steam room, hot tubs, sauna, gym, all seemed very nice. We didn't use but it would be nice to use the hot tubs in the winter after skiing all day. Would definitely recommend!
