Good, basic room. Easy parking. Nice heated pool. Love staying here

It’s not the nicest hotel however the location is right in the middle of town and we love that our car is right outside our door. No need to walk through the casino if we don’t want too.

We pulled into the parking lot Thursday afternoon only to find out they were repaving the whole lot and we had to park far away from our room and carry our luggage across the parking lot to the next building cause everything was blocked off! We had no notification that the parking lot was being repaved and the repaving started early in the morning into the early evening. It was NOT a pleasant stay at all! We asked for a luggage cart to tole 3 people’s luggage’s and bags and a n ice chest, but was told someone is using it as they not had one. 2 hours later we were told the luggage cart was back, only because my husband was told when he went to the front desk to ask for something! The notices on the building said the parking lots would done on Saturday, August 16 and it was not done and we had to park a mile away from our room when we got back Saturday evening. We had to lug our luggage to our vehicle when we left Sunday morning as the parking lot in front of our room was blocked off because it wasn’t finished. And the yellow parking logs were n the middle of the sidewalks and I tripped over them twice………gouging my foot on one of the rebarab spikes sticking out! Our sink was clogged, the electric outlets weren’t working as the plugs would not stay in and when I booked the room a couple months ago, I booked it for 3 people and we had to go to the front desk for more towels! The floors in our rooms were not clean……it was a horrible stay in our room!

Asphalt parking lot pot holes needs fixing

Nice staff. Elevator was not usable when we stayed so we had to carry our luggages up and down the stairs, not so ideal with 2 littles. Pool was supposed to be heated but was still a bit cold. Has an all you can eat and drink (mimosa) in the casino. Didnt get to check out the “beach” as there were some type of flies that swarm the hotel surroundings but seems like they go away around 0900ish? Overall, you get what you pay for, would stay again for the unlimited mimosa at bumbleberry flats.

The hot tub was excellent and so was the pool. Fun time for all!!!!

Staff was friendly. Room was nice. Only issues we had was the ice machine was on first floor, we were on third and there is no fridge. Loved the access to the river. Pool is a basic motel pool. Will stay there again.

This is an extension of my last review thanking Michael, coco, Colleen and the front desk for their contributions to my lovely stay. Thank you to the river front ground crew for making my special spot so beautiful and the pool staff for the always sparkling and warm pools such a great retreat spot.

The floor was extremely dirty. Counters were not clean. There were tiny bugs all around the room on the curtains right by our bed. We had an extremely long drive so I took it upon myself to clean and sanitize the room. There is probably stains all over the curtains from me killing these small bugs. Will not return, that’s for sure.

Extremely dirty. Room smelt like death. Took my shoes off to take a shower and stuck to the floor. Shower had dirt and bugs in it. Walls were dirty. I was supposed to stay 2 nights and after the first night I left. It was not a good experience, I would not recommend to anyone nor will i stay there again. Spend the extra money for a different hotel!!

The room had about 6 dead cockroaches. Around 10 spiders. Even in my bed. I understand it's the river.. but the dead cockroaches shows they never clean the room.. 400$ never again

Bathroom in room looked not finished and ran down. The floors were not cleaned well at all in the room.

My room was very clean. My bed was so comfortable that I would immediately fall asleep. I locked my self out and within minutes security was there to let me in. Very pleased.

Room needed a cleaning, could not wear socks due to the floor needed a mop.

The New Pioneer? What a joke, nothing new about it. The place was old, dirty, and my wife got bit by a bug in bed that first evening. Sofa was nasty and the desk chair should be in the dumpsterWe checked out the next day. All they did was make excuses.

The room was dirty. The bathroom was dirty. The blanket smelled like pee. Pee!!!!

Clean, safe, and affordable

The room was not clean, at all. The floor was filthy and definitely not mopped or swept at arrival. No housekeeping service for 4 days was a let down too. I was hoping the floor would get cleaned one of those days, but nope.

Much nicer then it used to be but my sink would not drain and it smelled a little smokey in the room

Reception was great and what the room had was good. However the floor was not clean but the worst for us is the lack of sound proofing with the adjoining room and outside. You could here the tv until early hours, the excited owners letting the dog (didn’t here the dog once) back in, in the middle of the night and people coming back to their rooms at all hours. Quite a disturbed nights sleep

Tile floors were much better compared to the carpet they used to have and beds were newer and much more comfortable.

The room was what I was expecting. A little outdated, but a bed, a TV, and a shower is all I needed.

Older hotel, but clean and quiet. I missed that there wasn't a microwave or fridge. Had to change our meal plans. Pool was beautiful. Don't gamble so can't say anything about the casino. TV button didn't work, but they quickly replaced it. Would recommend it, especially for the price.

Since it is now called the new pioneer, I thought the entire room would’ve been updated but it seems it was only the flooring. At least in our room.

Room was clean with a view of the river.

You get what you pay for. The room was clean. There was no hairdryer. Last time I stayed, there was one. There is no refrigerator, coffeepot, microwave, or safe. It seems like they’re all raising the prices and taking away the amenities.

The room was clean and comfortable. My biggest complaint is that the walls are thin with no insulation. I can hear everything people are saying in the adjacent room. I could hear all the details of their personal life and I didn't even have my head to the wall. I was just sitting on the sofa reading. They kept the TV on the whole night. I couldn't get any sleep until they checked out.

People living at this hotel are noisey at all hours of the day and night. The wi-fi kept going off and on.

My stay was ok. The front desk people were very nice and professional.

No room / maid service on Saturday per hotel operator. All other contact numbers on phone directory did not work.

Checking in took quite a while, but once it was our turn, it was quick. Only one person working the front desk. The baked goods in the restaurant were amazing.

If only their front desk operated at half the efficiency of the restaurant, they might deserve a better rating. The rooms are decent. The food was amazing. The staff was mediocre, but hey! it’s extremely affordable.

Got NO room service. I asked and was told i would be getting a downstairs room and got an upstairs room. I am handicapped with bad knees. Was VERY painful climbing up and down stairs. My son is a diabetic and needed to keep his medication refrigerated. Was told ilhe had a refrigerator in his room and DIDNOT have 1. Service desk was RUDE

Staff is almost always rude and extremely short when it comes to answering questions or customer service in general.

Staff was super friendly.. from checkin, to bar staff, to house keeping. The room was a bit worn looking (says renovated but didnt really see that way… maybe we got an older room not reno yet), but the bed was comfy and everything was clean. We got a room with a king bed and it was very spacious. Next time, would probably check out a room that over looks the water (ours faced the parking lot). If you are looking for something for the room, you might just need to ask. They didn’t have a blow dryer in the room but mentioned this and they had one at the front desk. They did not have a microwave, fridge or coffee maker … which was a bummer (especially the coffee).. we didn’t ask about those but maybe they have rooms with that. For the price, you really can’t beat it on the strip. Bumbleberry is fantastic!!!

Slowest front desk I’ve encountered in years. Cheap prices and everything that goes along with that statement.

We were very disappointed by the lack of kindness from the front desk staff the morning of Sept 14, the day of our check out. We experienced an issue with getting our boat out of the Lake Mohave, we had to be towed out. After dealing with this issue for 3 hours we rushed back to the hotel to eat breakfast and head home. Check out was in 45 minutes and the line to the buffet was going to be 20 minutes until we got a table. We walked over and asked the front desk if we could extend our check out for just 30 minutes longer. We had our four legged family member in the room. We were told absolutely no, against their policy cannot do it, nothing we can do. This was a Sunday morning!! There is no way that hotel was going to be sold out on a Sunday that they could give a a 30 minute window??!! We’ve stayed at the hotel since 2010 because they are dog friendly. That’s 15 years of us being loyal customers right out the door. Shocked and dismayed.

I had stayed at The Pioneer years. What a difference a few years makes! The room was upgraded and no longer smelled like smoke. They give you wristbands for the pool and beach so they aren't overcrowded with people not officially staying there. We got a room right on the River Walk at a great price. This is my husband's and I new favorite hotel! We can't wait to return.

Great location quiet and affordable

It was quiet, even during the weekend, pets are allowed. Many restaurants with in walking distance, and different options. Desk attendants were always super helpful and friendly.

I really like it because it’s walking distance to every other casino. The staff is really welcoming, and Nice. The food is delicious, and the riverside is amazing.

The New Pioneer has been my go-to hotel in Laughlin for many years. It's always had the friendliest and most welcoming staff in all of Laughlin. The rooms have always been clean and spacious, with comfortable beds and furniture (they're even better now after the recent remodel). I like the central location too. Everywhere on the Laughlin Strip is within walking distance (even Harrah's). If I could give it ten stars I would.

Great place to stay at if you’re doing it for the river.

Guests not respecting property rules about ice machines and filling up ice chests. Then no ice. Speaking of which all machines are on 1st floor breezeways.so very inconvenient for 2nd and 3rd floor guests. Although the 3 floor portion has an elevator still inconvenient. Refrigerator are upon request and no coffee pot. Our rooms had no dresser.We had adjoining rooms which was nice.The rooms clean 3★.1 room had a frig that was still there great AC but problem with plumbing (when i made registration aware of this they had 3 people at the room in a few minutes)other room was a corner room so that may be why although AC was as low as possible the room was maybe 25°less than ambient. The beds are REALLY soft not very firm. *The beach is not maintained by pioneer. And the company that does it ,well they don't! Although 3 huge barrels are placed for trash people believe its not their job to clean up after themselves! The place needs a few beach monitors. And it was jammed packed with people. Overall I enjoy the Pioneer its a nothing fancy hotel.

Dining options limited and expensive ..no option for breakfast off menu on weekends. Super expensive brunch buffet had to go to denny,'s.

We were only there one night and the room was clean, bed was comfy except for the sheets. They were a bit stiff & scratchy. The restaurant at New Pioneer is outstanding! Great service and delicious food! The “Everything” cookies are the best cookies I’ve ever had! Highly recommend!
