The room clean and spacious. It was warm weather and two fans were available in the room but the standing one was too dusty. Breakfast had good selection both cooked and continental. The entrance to the parking was too narrow and can only be approached from the other side of the road.

The hotel was clean and tastefully decorated evne though it was an old building. Bar area was comfortable with good selection of drinks. Breakfast was very very good, great choice of quality products. Only downside was - no lift! (difficult to instal in such an old building)

Great central spot with a lovely bar and restaurant. We stay here when visiting my mum, and love being able to park at the hotel then walk along the nearby river and local shops.

Great stay. Breakfast was superb. Lots of choice. Staff very friendly & welcoming. Location was fantastic. We walked around the whole town over the few days we stayed. Car park very small but we did manage to get in.

Excellent stay , room lovely all staff were so friendly and helpful ! Breakfast very nice , no complaints at all it was 30 degrees when we stayed ,room was very warm but a fan was provided without us needing to ask . There is free parking but wd parked at the ncp which is literally across the road .

I stayed one night and had a wonderful experience. From the staff, service, breakfast, and AMAZING dinner. Thank you. The only issue i had was climbing up the stairs to my room i had a hip surgery and was painful going up and downstairs

A lovely hotel with excellent staff. Located in the centre of the town. Car parking accross the road at a NCP car park. Not suitable for disabled people as lots of stairs and no lift. Had a shower over the high bath but no bath rail was there to help slipping. Food good and I would recommend this hotel.

Beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean, the staff were friendly and accommodating to our needs. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of options. Ideal location for walking around Shrewsbury, close to parking, river walks and the town centre.

Clean and spacious room, friendly staff, delicious breakfast, perfect location 😄 It was absolutely fantastic! There is a bit of drain smell near the bar, but you can avoid it as there are lots of sitting area.

Liked:- the friendly staff, the overall cleanliness of the room, the lovely towels and the comfortable bed. The bottle of tap water replenished each day. Not so much:- the room had hanging space but no drawers for storage and a very slender table area that was crammed with a tea tray, the tv, a kettle and a lamp (all three vying for the only two wall sockets right under the table). No biscuits on the tea tray (a small detail but a fairly standard provision). In the bathroom, rust marks on the replacement loo roll stand and staining on the radiator. Breakfast was hit and miss. My partner’s was fine but mine not so much; on day one they had run out of the avocado option and on day two my vegetarian option had both lukewarm beans and lukewarm v. sausages, inedible. Overall, it definitely didn’t feel AA 4 star experience.

Filthy between the wood frame and the glazed glass. Noise level from road very bad. We have stayed 3 other times and will stay again but always in winter months when window can remain closed. Council need to slow down traffic going past with road bumps and definitely needs speed cameras. Despite all that a besutiful hotel and clearly popular and food lunch and breakfast excellent. Beds incredibly comfie.

We had a lovely 2 night stay at the Lion and Pheasant. The room was lovely and large, we were across the yard from the main building. There was someone above us and because it was wooden floors we could hear them walking. The breakfast was lovely and freshly cooked

Hard to access parking, but plenty of room once in. Friendly receptionist, nice room, comfy bed. We worried it would be noisy as the room faced the street, and was noisy all day, but was quiet while sleeping. Breakfast was good, we ate dinner elsewhere so can't comment. Easy walk to see all of Shrewsbury. A few minor annoyances: 1. Walking around the room made the hangers in the wardrobe rattle, due to loose floorboards maybe, - we had to take them out. 2. The key didn't initially work, reception very helpful. Turns out there was a knack 'some are a bit sticky'. 3. We went for a walk before checking out and found they'd already cleaned the room when we returned, which made us feel guilty for washing our hands!

A lovely, clean central hotel, but if you are in room 11 or 12, you have a large kitchen extractor fan outside your single-glazed window. We were told it's on from 8 am to 10 pm, but the hours were more like 6.40 am -11 pm

With its exposed beams and spacious layout, the loft suite we stayed in for one night had a quirky charm and was attractively furnished. Our first impression was one of amazement. Unfortunately, the outside temperature was around 30°C, and the room lacked air conditioning. To make matters worse, the exhaust from the restaurant’s air conditioning unit was located right next to the room. It produced a noise comparable to an airplane taking off and woke us up at 7:00 a.m. The mattress was also too soft for our comfort. On a positive note, the service was prompt and friendly, the breakfast was tasty, and parking was free.

Absolutely fabulous place to stay, such a central location in this lovely town. Lunch was faultless in the 2 AA Rosette restaurant both the duck and the lamb shank were perfect. The studio room was great with it's own sitting room, plenty of room, lovely comfortable bed and the addition of a fridge which is a bonus as we have medical supplies which have to be kept cold. Breakfast buffet all looked amazing but we opted for the full English which was an absolute delight, service once again excellent and beautifully cooked and presented with local produce used. Would definitely recommend.

The hotel was very nice, but there was a mixup with our booking and we did not get the classic studio room that we booked for our wedding anniversary. Reception were helpful in trying to resolve but could not give us the room we booked. They did however upgrade us from the standard room we were first given. Otherwise the room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was very nice.

Parking management was chaotic! Evening meal was not well presented and veg rather "soggy". Staff were mainly mainly helpful and pleasant but not coordinated with information. Told dinner would be in the downstairs public dining area and then as pre booked guest it would be in an upstairs dining area

The staff was pleasant and cheerful both at check-in and in the restaurant. We stayed for two days. What was surprising to me is the fact that we had no housekeeping. No turn down, no cleaning of the room, making the beds, refreshing towels, nothing. I wonder if this was carried over from Covid when staff were not entering guests rooms but at the rate we were paying I expected housekeeping. I was told at check out if we wanted housekeeping, we should have requested it. I find this to be a bit absurd. It’s the reason I choose to stay in a hotel rather than an Airbnb.

This is well appointed spot with great walkability to shops and restaurants. Solid breakfast included in the rate, and staff seemed very pleasant. However, we stayed for 3 nights, and our room wasn't cleaned once. We asked for cleaning after the first night, but when it didn't happen, we gave up. It's too bad - this place would be perfect if they paid closer attention to all the details that go into a lovely stay.

Absolutely fabulous place to stay, such a central location in this lovely town. Lunch was faultless in the 2 AA Rosette restaurant both the duck and the lamb shank were perfect. The studio room was great with it's own sitting room, plenty of room, lovely comfortable bed and the addition of a fridge which is a bonus as we have medical supplies which have to be kept cold. Breakfast buffet all looked amazing but we opted for the full English which was an absolute delight, service once again excellent and beautifully cooked and presented with local produce used. Would definitely recommend.

Great central spot with a lovely bar and restaurant. We stay here when visiting my mum, and love being able to park at the hotel then walk along the nearby river and local shops.

Great stay. Breakfast was superb. Lots of choice. Staff very friendly & welcoming. Location was fantastic. We walked around the whole town over the few days we stayed. Car park very small but we did manage to get in.

Liked:- the friendly staff, the overall cleanliness of the room, the lovely towels and the comfortable bed. The bottle of tap water replenished each day. Not so much:- the room had hanging space but no drawers for storage and a very slender table area that was crammed with a tea tray, the tv, a kettle and a lamp (all three vying for the only two wall sockets right under the table). No biscuits on the tea tray (a small detail but a fairly standard provision). In the bathroom, rust marks on the replacement loo roll stand and staining on the radiator. Breakfast was hit and miss. My partner’s was fine but mine not so much; on day one they had run out of the avocado option and on day two my vegetarian option had both lukewarm beans and lukewarm v. sausages, inedible. Overall, it definitely didn’t feel AA 4 star experience.

Fantastic! So very quirky, comfortable. Staff very friendly, helpful, nothing too much trouble. Breakfast choice is amazing and very tasty and lots of it. Hotel is conveniently located near the English Bridge with direct access to a beautiful river walk. Highly recommend.

A charming historic building converted into a tasteful quirky hotel. There is no lift but lots of stairs going up and down and even to nowhere. It’s close to the English Bridge on a busy road convenient for the town and amenities.

We had maintenance work next to our room, on the outside of the building on a Sunday afternoon and directly outside of our room (fitting new carpets) from 8am the next morning. If this was known by us we would have not stayed. Also, the front rooms overlooking the road start to get very noisy from 0630-0700 in the morning with traffic. We raised the maintenance issues when we checked out and didn’t even receive a sorry.
