MV Surfside Hotel

Very convenient. Excellent customer service. Ability to borrow chairs, umbrella, and towels for the short walk to the beach was clutch when traveling light. Very pretty and comfortable garden area to relax in. Only draw back for us was being on the third floor as there is no elevator. We would definitely stay here again though!

The MV Surfside hotel was a fabulous little hotel. Offering partial or ocean view rooms with balconies, friendly staff/guest services, and private parking if you come by car. The location is amazing, as you can walk to all of the shops and restaurants. There is a nightclub next door, but the music did not affect my sleep. The ocean is right across the street and ferry if you are coming in that way so you cannot beat the convince. For those who prefer private or to fly in the MVV was only a 15 minute taxi/uber ride. If you want to go to Edgartown or Vineyard Haven they are both about 15 minutes by car or you can vs catch the buses that come about every 30 minutes. All and all, my girlfriend and I enjoyed our stay and we look forward to coming back soon.

Very comfortable stay, room was clean, Free WiFi, TV was difficult in the beginning but manageable. Close to restaurant and shopping stores. Would stay there again.

Perfect location! Easily walk to restaurants, shopping, beach, ferry. . Cute rooms, very clean; updated baths. Staff was great. We traveled with our dog and it was a great experience. Grounds are lovely.

I didnt like that there was no elevator. I am in my 60's. I was on the 3rd floor, no elevator. Loved everything else...I will return. Hopefully to an elevator.

My friend and I enjoyed our stay very much and we plan to make it a tradition! It was exceptionally Clean, efficient and at a wonderful location! The Garden was absolutely the best place to catch the morning sun, relax and enjoy the ocean breezes and read a book! Thank you!!

We paid $420 for 1 night at this dump! I don't know how old the pictures of this hotel are but it is not even close! If I could post the pictures I took I would. Not to mention finding a disgusting dirty towel in the tub when I went to shower so obviously was not cleaned or they would have noticed. Also, could not adjust the AC because they had it locked and it was very hot in the room!!

Two minor issues - the room reeked of bleach when we arrived and we had to open the windows to air it out. Second, the frint desk hours aren’t posted and it was hard to reach someone to check in and when we wanted to grab ciffee as we checked iut.

We stayed here until our house in Katama was ready. Our two day stay was perfect. It was a great suite, with a large room and living room. Very nice!

Location, location, location Everything walkable, no vehicle necessary, steps away from ferry and oceanfront. Hotel could use some modernization in the bathrooms but beds and linens were nice. Basic amenities were missing such as complimentary water and hairdryer.

My stay here was perfect for what we were looking for, something walkable and right downtown. Our views from our room was great and they gave me a healthcare discount, which was a bonus.

My family of four stayed in the one bedroom condo suite. The room was very nice! It was updated, modern, and looked just like the photos online. The kitchen was functional so you could do some light food prep. There was plenty of space for our four of us. There was a view of the water and the ferry from the room. The staff was incredibly responsive to our requests and were very helpful. It is a 2 minute walk from the ferry and in the middle of all the restaurants and shops. It is a fantastic option for any family looking for a nice room in the middle of Oak Bluffs.

We enjoyed the convenience of the property, however the price is outrageous. The room was very basic, small. Shower head needs upgrading and tub looked a bit old. Bed did not seem like queen size. Beautiful gardens. Nice friendly staff.

Great location to the beach, shops, dining and entertainment. Small room but adequate. Staff very friendly. Would stay again, but would opt for a bigger room, which they have.

We booked our trip late and did not have many options to choose from in regards to lodging. When we arrived Friday night, we were optimistic about our decision. The hotel was very close to ferry and one of our fav eatery, The Lookout. The room was ok, nothing great, this is a two star after all. We needed a hairdryer, which we borrowed from front desk, and retired for the evening. The next night wasn’t as smooth. It was Saturday, Aug 30. We went to bed at 11 pm and starting at midnight, it sounded like a party in our bathroom. Yelling, screaming…. 2am still going, now singing and loud bangs… 4 am still going strong another loud boom.. 5:15 am it finally subsides, but I haven’t got one wink of sleep. Awful, disrespectful, frustrating . We explained to the front desk the next day and they promised they would look into. They did and apologized to us saying they contacted the parents of the teenagers in the room and they were talked. That’s great, but what about my reparations? Sunday was a total bust as I was so tired and grouchy it ruined my day. The hotel did not offer ANYTHING… no credit, no voucher for next year…, NOTHING. I don’t blame the kids or the parents… I blame the hotel as they should screen their guests and have security on 24 hours on weekends. I will not recommend this place or ever stay here again.

The staff at Surfside do an excellen job of making you feel so very welcome. The location can't be beat where you are steps from shops, restaurants, and the water. What a wonderful property. Robert T

As a first time visitor to the vineyard, I didn’t know what to expect. I was very pleasantly impressed with the friendliness of the staff, the cleanliness of the room and the beautiful gardens. The hotel is very unassuming from the outside but once you come through the entryway, it’s as if you’re walking through another time. The hotel is walking distance from restaurants and shopping. Even more convenient is that it is across the street from the ferry. I look forward to my next visit.
