Be Playa Hotel Boutique & Rooftop Bar - Adults Only

Guter Urlaub Das Hotel ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen und benötigt dringend Restaurationen. An sich waren die Zimmer echt schön, modern und stylisch möbiliert, va der Jakuzzi im der Master Suite war toll. Es gab einen Balkon mit 2 Sitzen und einem kleinen Tisch. Es wurde aber trotz Trinkgeld an die Zimmermädchen nie richtig geputzt- man konnte froh sein, wenn es mal frische Handtücher gab. Leider mussten wir 3 mal frische Handtücher und ein mal Toilettenpapier bei der Rezeption holen gehen, da nichts gemacht wurde (trotz Schild, dass geputzt werden muss). Wäre das nicht gewesen, was teils nach einem langen Tag anstrengend war, hätte ich 5Sterne gegeben. Die Dachterasse mit den Pool könnte auch mal renoviert werden und gesäubert werden. Der Pool war leider nicht sauber (Fettfilm, Rost und Dreck) Dadurch, dass wir schon andere Erfahrungen im Urlaub gemacht hatten, unsere Ansprüche eh runtergeschraubt hatten, war es für uns in Ordnung. Das Personal am Empfang war sehr freundlich, hilfsbefeit und hatte immer ein paar gute Tipps für einen tollen Urlaub. Die Lage des Hotels ist super. Direkt an der 5th Av., Oxxo und 7/11 direkt nebenan, Strand in der nähe, Banken und Einkaufszentren gut erreichbar zu Fuß, zum Hafen 25min Fußweg und sehr viele Restaurants in der Nähe. Fazit: das Hotel wäre um vieles besser, wenn die Zimmer sauberer wären, sowie die Annehmlichkeiten wie Dusche, Toilette und Wasserhahn richtig funktionieren würden. Ansonsten war es ein guter Urlaub.

I have stayed here before over past 3 years 3 or 4 times .The maintenance and updates have suffered .First the elevator wasnt working ,and no one to help ,if i didnt expect an elevator,that is ok but had to carry 5 bags up the stairs ,thankfully only 1 flight for me .The silicone around shower floor was old and cracked and water leaked all over floor ,the toilet quit flushing within 30 minutes .The overall condition of the room needed attention .Bed was acceptable although also could use a new mattress soon .Rooftop bar had no food because of elevator (understandable).Service was good for what they have to work with .location is good .Probably wont stay there again .

Outdated. Dirty. Toilet kept clogging. Shower didn’t work correctly. Elevator wasn’t working. Definitely not a 4 star hotel

El hotel es cómodo, pero no funciona el elevador, las escaleras son pequeñas y solamente cabe una persona, el ruido hasta las 3de la mañana es algo a lo que debes acostumbrarte, si lo que quieres es descansar no te recomiendo este hotel, el acceso a la quinta avenida y a la playa es lo mejor

Elevator doesn't work.

We have stayed at several hotels in playa now and this one was our favorite! The bed was more comfortable than any other place we’ve been, and the rooftop was amazing! Great pool, and the bar and bartender were wonderful. Very friendly and great drinks. They even had live music several of the nights we were there which was really fun. Staff was friendly, and we loved the included breakfast, great options. We are already planning to come back!

Too bad they don’t have parking available.

Was a decent hotel with some issues. We checked in on a Saturday, third floor room and the elevator was out of service. Was told it was fixed only for us to then get stuck in the elevator. We checked out Monday and the elevator was still out of order. Not fun lugging your luggage up and down 3 floors. The rooftop pool looked like it had not been cleaned recently. Oily haze and hair floating around made it unappealing. Went only once as it was not great.

We booked this hotel for the jacuzzi tub and location. Location is ideal however we were there for 4 nights and had no hot water. Our room was nice and clean but the rooftop area around the pool was dirty and rundown. Absolutely a joke that this is advertised as a 4 star property.

The rooftop bar was never opened during my stay. The administration kept telling me the bartender should be there but it wasn’t.

Worst hotel I ever stayed in my life, after one week they kick you out when I reserved the place for longer, no warning, no hot water for the first 5 days, no sleep as well it’s very noisy, false advertisement, I came and bought the master suite with hammock, guess what? No hammock, jacuzzi was cold, jacuzzi jets not working, staff is rude to you, the maids even yell at you, staff rolled their eyes at me, did not make me feel welcomed at all for my birthday trip, this was special and they made it a nightmare, I was even crying on my birthday because of how they treated me, the cold showers were not what I expected, electricity goes out, no WiFi, no ac for hours, dirty floors and moldy showers, I really wanted to have a good time for my birthday but they ruined it, they are mean and rude and I wish what I experienced never happens to others, I was very very disappointed and very sad and will never recommend this place to anyone ever in my life

Let me preface by saying despite all the things that went wrong with the room, the staff at the front desk like Ros and the others were great and friendly and tried to do everything they could to help. The upper management however was lacking. I've never taken the time to write a review on a place but this was a sitcom level debacle - So here's what happened - I entered the beautiful room only to find a condom wrapper (yep, you read that right) on the floor by the bed, they did not have an equivalent room to stay in that night so I was offered a free Americano or Continental breakfast during my stay which I only used once because it was supposed to start at 8 am but in reality the kitchen only opened at 9:30 then there was no hot water in the room so I waited for that to be fixed, then there was no water pressure to fill the jacuzzi tub that is the highlight of the room so I waited for a maintenance guy to fix that and he told me apparently my room was literally the ONLY one with this issue, but at this point the hotel was full so I could not be moved rooms until the 3rd night THEN the safe died with my stuff inside so I waited for someone to open and replace the safe... finally I moved to an equivalent room on the third night (was only there for four nights). When asked for refund I was refused by management saying "we moved you rooms, you got breakfast". Not a great policy considering this was not just one thing. At least the staff were great.

Room was slightly unclean with a little bit of particles left on the floor. Other than that a pretty decent place.

Esta en una muy buena ubicación, pero le falta limpieza, habia un monton de cabellos en la regadera, le falta mantenimiento general para que vuelva a verse bien, porque tiene un concepto muy padre, el elevador no servía y el chico que nos recibió (era muy joven) era un tanto grosero.

El hotel es bonito, pero le falta mantenimiento. Salio un cucaracho en el baño. Faltan algunas amenidades como agua embotellada, kleenex. Realizaron un evento privado en el roofgarden y cancelaron el elevador, lo cual debiamos subir y bajar los huespedes por escaleras; nos querian cobrar $100 por persona para poder acceder a la alberca del roofgarden, al final accedieron. El personal muy amable, pero las instalaciones si necesitan un poco de atencon.

I am even surprised that Expedia keeps this hotel on its list, let alone advertising this hotel as a four-star hotel. This is completely false advertising. The hotel is terrible in both cleanliness and condition. It is dirty, with cobwebs (that were not new) and cockroaches. I booked it in a rush, trusting that it was a four star hotel. If there was any rating less than edible, I would have chosen it. I called Expedia immediately after one night, and they reimbursed me for all expenses once I showed them pictures of

I will not return to this hotel. Besides the fact that the staff was very kind and nice, the room itself was mediocre, there were insects in the toilet and shower, and it felt unclean. There is a rooftop in the hotel and on weekends the music is played until three in the morning non-stop and you can't sleep. Feels like the music is in the room. I do not recommend. And again, the hotel staff was kind and nice, but the hotel itself is not pleasant and clean.

The breackfast was bad, quite few options. The cleaning wa poor with cockruch present. The building AC was noisy all night.

I was very disapointed. I checked in, looked at the poor condition of the property and the dirty room , including the beds and knew I couldn't stay there. I most certainly couldn't have my girlfriend there. So I just took a shower - ha, no towels , and left and found another hotel. And, thet charged me an extra @ 35 dollars for absolutely nothing since I didn't even stay.

Booked King bed master suite, when we showed up we were pressured to take a double bed suite which we didn’t agree with so we eventually got given the suite we booked. Im usually not one to complain about service but the rooms wasn’t cleaned for the first 2 days, when it was the towels were not changed ams folded up to look like they had been changed. The water in the sinks and showers had abismal water pressure and was almost impossible to shower or brush your teeth and when you did the lack if hot water was an issue aswell. On our last day the area suffered power outage and the hotel did not have a generator as a back up and we were left locked out of our rooms for about 2.5 hours from 8-10:30 pm, subsequently when the power came on we did not have any running water for the day that followed, even the toilets wouldn't flush. Its playa so we did some great people and the staff was helpful and friendly. Kudos to the servers on the roof top patio who made our stay more enjoyable.

Toilet would not flush, tv had no remote control and WiFi would not connect

The staff was very kind and helpful. The hot water situation could be better. I had a six day stay: two days the water was cold, two days it was luke warm, and the last two days it was much better, but not hot. The lights were off in the first floor hallway. Even though I reported it on the first night, they were never fixed. I also asked and was granted a room change due to a mold smell in my room.

AC was broken. Tub was broken. Very very noisy well into the night. Couldn't open patio door because if noise which made the broken AC even worse. Comfortable bed and nice shower. Otherwise wouldn't return.

Impressive photos, mediocre experience. I recommend looking at the reviews on other sites before staying here. The reviews on Hotels do not adequately represent the current property conditions and noise level. We were unable to sleep for our entire stay due to noise, either from the rooftop bar shaking the walls, or the surrounding hotel bars. The glass walls are beautiful, but do nothing to block noise. Everything is pretty rundown, moth eaten. No mattress cover and bottom sheet didn't cover.

Needs bathroom lights and a better shower head. Only warm water. Rooftop bar was beating until 4am.

Hotel is nice and comfortable. The hot water stopped working the 2nd day. The hotel management said that they’ll issue a refund for that night. However, they went back on their words and didn’t give even a penny back. Terrible service

This is the second time I have stayed with Be Playa. The rooms are adorable, relaxing and clean. I have stayed at some of the most expensive resorts and this Hotel, is far nicer. I enjoy the service and the customer service from the staff. The Roof Top pool and drinks are also great. Walking distance to many activities and just a great place to stay. Will remain a returning customer.

I absolutely love my stay at playa boutique the staff has amazing customer service and always willing to accommodate it's very secure the rooms are very nice then I absolutely love this staff Karen and Danny have been absolutely amazing I would recommend it to my friends and family thank you to Karen and Danny we're amazing outstanding customer service 😊!

No me gusta que pidan un depósito de 500 pesos para entrar, entiendo todas las justificaciones quedan, pero me incomoda que tengan que ir a ver que todo esté bien en la habitación antes de liberarte, no soy un delincuente y no me gusta que me traten como si lo fuera, en general, no he tenido incidente con ellos en las tres veces que me he hospedado, pero en efecto, no es nada cómodo el acoso

Our room did not have any water pressure or hot water. When we asked the front desk lady she told us a pipe had broken and she was very rude. She told me i would just have to deal with it and that she can't control the weather. We asked for a refund and to check out or our room and they refused to give us any compensation. We were in the room for less than an hour and didn't touch anything. The management at this hotel is very poor. She even admitted to knowing about the problem before we checked in and she didn't say anything to us.

We arrived early & in order to check in we were expected to pay a fee (which would have been ok ) but were informed that we had to pay in cash (questionable), no exceptions were made when we informed Jonathon (front desk ) that we didn’t have pesos or dollars…we were forced to go to ATM to withdraw cash. Once we got to our room, the shower flooded the bathroom & when we asked for additional towels it was an issue additionally the air conditioning was not functioning. Unfortunately our consensus upon leaving is that this hotel is poorly managed & the pictures on site are optical illusion.

Local muito bem localizada, próximo as praias mais lindas e colodo a Quinta Avenida, aonde se concentra toda a área de lazer de playa Del Carmen.

Awesome place to stay very good location, good service, nice rooftop

La ubicación es excelente, inmejorable todo cerca y accesible a pie. El hotel le hace falta muchísimo mantenimiento y limpieza, se nota que lo han dejado caer, así mismo mucho ruido de la terraza que no permite buen descanso. El desayuno que te proporcionan era una burla la porción de fruta que dieron con tres pequeños pedazos de melón, duraron una hora para servir el plato fuerte.

Great place to stay at, everything walkable from the hotel. We have stayed here a few times. The breakfast is exceptional.

Een klein maar goed hotel. Enige minpunt was dat er niet altijd veel warm water was. Ontbijt was bij het restaurant (sushi club) eronder. A la carte. Beperkte opties, maar zeker voldoende voor ons. Zeer vriendelijk personeel!

This botique has a nice location. and is very safe. The rooftop pool is nice however the cleanliness is so so and the breakfast was no options just given a plate. This is still a decent place to sleep and use for visiting the area.

-le wifi est inutilisable, nous n’avons pas pu travailler ni parler à nos enfants et notre famille, ce qui est inacceptable. -les chambres sentent l’humidité et les égouts. -le petit déjeuner n’était pas frais et de pauvre qualité, des photos peuvent vous être transmises pour le démontrer. -l’eau du bain n’est pas chaude, voir froide. -le bruit du rooftop bar est si fort que les chambres vibrent, nous n’avons pas pu dormir.

Excelente ubicación pero q haya mas variedad de desayuno

Sinceramente el hotel deja mucho que desear. Para empezar el ascensor nunca sirvió, asi que empezamos mal por ese lado. La habitación estaba bien, pero tiene muchas cosas que sobran y le falta muchas otras. Como es posible que tienes una tina en la habitación pero no tienes un minibar o un mejor televisor o incluso mejores muebles que si son necesarios en un hotel. Habían miles de interruptores en la habitación, no sabías cuál encendía cuál, para los que eran necesarios como el baño y ciertas luces de la habitación era imposible dar con ellas, porque todas cada vez encendían una luz diferente. El segundo dia no nos hicieron aseo a la habitación aún habiéndolo pedido. El desayuno, tiene muy buena presentación pero es mailisimo, los huevos fríos, nos dieron unos frijoles para acompañar los huevos y estaban terribles, habíamos pedido una leche para el café, la leche estaba en mal estado, se demoraban en servirnos… en fin. El rooftop nunca se abrió, todo estaba arrinconado y desordenado arriba que ni ganas te dan entrar a la piscina. Un hotel que cobra un poco caro en relación a su calidad. Créanme hay mejores hoteles y a mejores precios.

Overall our stay was nice. Close proximity to 5th Ave shopping and vendors. Your stay includes breakfast but not a buffet, more so one juice, one plate of food and that’s it. They give you a boxed lunch if you’re going to spend the day out on excursions, but you can’t have breakfast ABD a boxed lunch to go, it’s one or the other. The hot tub in room takes about 45 mins to fill up and doesn’t get too hot, but other than that it was cool. The TV doesn’t have any English channels so don’t expect to chill out and watch some good ole American TV. Safe place to stay overall, I would stay here again.
