Beautiful property and nicely appointed rooms with patios. Restaurant was very good. Very serene and quiet place to stay. Our only issue is that the pool and hot tub were not heated and were ice cold. It was one of the features that attracted us to this resort in the first place and we were disappointed it was unusable. The cost to use the spa (indoor pool and hot tub) is very expensive and time limited. Also our shower door was a bit odd and caused small floods every time we took a shower. Otherwise a lovely place to stay for some R&R.

This is a great hotel. Orvieto was our last stop in Italy and we decided not to stay in town. The hotel is 10 minutes drive to Orvieto. It sits on top of a hill overlooking vineyards and hills in all directions. It has a beautiful pool. Very good fitness gym building with views. Great restaurant with good prices similar to places in town. Fantastic free breakfast, really top notch fancy! Free parking. Our room had a small deck with a nice view. This was our first trip to Tuscany and visiting Orvieto. We chose this property because it had a pool. The property is beautiful as it is in the countryside. However, there are multiple buildings and you do not know which one is yours until you check in. Getting around the property by car proved challenging as lighting at night was poor and there were many twists and turns in the road. One night a staff member had to lead the way in her own car so we could find our building. Our room was situated near the pool and there was an option for food and drinks within the pool area. The pool water temperature seemed unusually cool considering the warms days. Our room was nothing special: we had a king size bed which was comfortable, but the layout was disjointed. Although there was a separate sitting area it was oddly furnished with a couch looking at a wall and a sauna. We had a balcony but it was small and not very functional considering it's location. The check-in staff and the wait-staff were aloof and not very friendly...we had to flag servers down each morning to order coffee. The breakfast was excellent. The hotel's restaurant was over priced and fair at best but if you stay here other dining options involve driving along dirt serpentine roads to get to town (outside of Orvieto). The best part of our stay was the wine tasting and our guide Andrea was very passionate and enthusiastic about sharing his knowledge with our small group. Next time we would stay in Orvietto

En general el hotel es muy lindo y agradable, aunque la alberca estaba helada y no la pudimos disfrutar y aunque dice q es hotel para exclusivamente solo adultos en el restaurante durante la cena permitían q la gente llegara con niños a cenar, no creo q sea correcto si enfatizan que es un hotel de adultos q permitan eso. El último día tuvieron un problema con el agua caliente y no pudimos bañarnos.

I like that it was close to the town of Orvieto and that parking was easy. The food at the restaurant was so delicious! There were two pools with snack bars which was amazing! The staff was so polite and nice. 10 out of 10.

It was quiet but there is no transportation. The annex building is on fire far from the main building and restaurant that when it opens At dinner time it is dark and scary and if it is raining and windy there is no option for transportation to main buildings but walking solo females may want to not make this choice. I was very scared with no help if something happened on the path

Prachtig gelegen. Fantastisch restaurant, met vriendelijk en persoonlijk personeel. Het restaurant heeft een prachtig terras met uitzicht op de wijngaarden. Fijn zwembad. Bijgebouwen liggen vrij ver van het hoofdgebouw en zijn moeilijker te bereiken als je slecht ter been bent.

Altarocca was more than we ever dared to expect. We stayd in Orchidea Suite for 14 nights. This place is just heaven on earth. The silence, the pools and the friendliness of the staff is just overwhelming. The rooms are spotless. We will definitely come back. Thank you all for making our holiday perfect.

We really don't appreciate having to step around dog turds around the pool and outdoor dining area. That is disgusting as are the dog owners who cause it. I understand these people probably have mental health issues but the hotel should make sure they clean up the turds or stop allowing dogs all over the property. That said, we appreciate the sincere efforts of the grounds keeper to maintain the property. He does an excellent job and it's not his fault that some of these dog owners are selfish and slovenly. The maid was also very good and kept the room in pristine condition. Also, nobody mentioned that there would be loud blaring awful music playing until 11:30 pm right outside the rooms, so good luck getting to sleep if you need to get up early to travel. Would NEVER recommend this place.

We had a lovely stay at Altarocca Resort. Upon arrival I knew we would be happy there, the grounds and buildings are beautiful and luxurious. Our room was stunning, with a great view and luxe accommodations. Best of all, the staff was amazing, so kind, courteous and helpful. We are looking forward to returning someday, hopefully soon!

We really don't appreciate having to step around dog turds around the pool and outdoor dining area. That is disgusting as are the dog owners who cause it. I understand these people probably have mental health issues but the hotel should make sure they clean up the turds or stop allowing dogs all over the property. That said, we appreciate the sincere efforts of the grounds keeper to maintain the property. He does an excellent job and it's not his fault that some of these dog owners are selfish and slovenly. The maid was also very good and kept the room in pristine condition. Also, nobody mentioned that there would be loud blaring awful music playing until 11:30 pm right outside the rooms, so good luck getting to sleep if you need to get up early to travel. Would NEVER recommend this place.

The property is just outside the ancient hilltop town of Orvieto in Umbria and is surrounded by vineyards. The rooms were beautifully decorated with stunning patio views and the most comfortable beds of our trip! We also had an outstanding dinner at their restaurant - Invinum Gourmet - for a very reasonable price. Highly recommend!

Our check in was lovely-she was very kind. The restaurant’s food was fabulous and we enjoyed our time there. The merlot + cab blend was divine! Everything was a sight to take in and we have spoken on coming back if we ever find ourselves in Orvieto again!

Fantastic and exactly what we were hoping for it to be. Absolutely recommend. Good instead of excellent for service simply because the dining experience at the restaurant had very slow service which a bit of a bummer. Still overall very nice!

I didn’t expect plastic disposable cups when staying at a wine resort. We had the degustation dinner with matching wines…wines were great but there were a couple of dishes which were somewhat disappointing, explanations as to why these dishes were not to our taste was met with a very curt….’well the painting is excellent’….not sure why you would ask if you don’t want the feedback. Staff at checkin were not at all friendly, however a very different experience with the breakfast staff who were great. Overall, a very underwhelming experience, I won’t return.

This was our first trip to Tuscany and visiting Orvieto. We chose this property because it had a pool. The property is beautiful as it is in the countryside. However, there are multiple buildings and you do not know which one is yours until you check in. Getting around the property by car proved challenging as lighting at night was poor and there were many twists and turns in the road. One night a staff member had to lead the way in her own car so we could find our building. Our room was situated near the pool and there was an option for food and drinks within the pool area. The pool water temperature seemed unusually cool considering the warms days. Our room was nothing special: we had a king size bed which was comfortable, but the layout was disjointed. Although there was a separate sitting area it was oddly furnished with a couch looking at a wall and a sauna. We had a balcony but it was small and not very functional considering it's location. The check-in staff and the wait-staff were aloof and not very friendly...we had to flag servers down each morning to order coffee. The breakfast was excellent. The hotel's restaurant was over priced and fair at best but if you stay here other dining options involve driving along dirt serpentine roads to get to town (outside of Orvieto). The best part of our stay was the wine tasting and our guide Andrea was very passionate and enthusiastic about sharing his knowledge with our small group. Next time we would stay in Orvietto

It was quiet but there is no transportation. The annex building is on fire far from the main building and restaurant that when it opens At dinner time it is dark and scary and if it is raining and windy there is no option for transportation to main buildings but walking solo females may want to not make this choice. I was very scared with no help if something happened on the path

Amazing location in the hills above Orvieto. A beautiful resort with stunning scenery. Quiet and relaxing. Very comfortable rooms and the breakfast was fantastic. Very friendly staff. Only a 10 minute drive to Orvieto which is an incredible Tuscan hill town.
