Nice, economic place to stay. Rooms were clean and the staff were super helpful. Located on a busy street but the rooms are will back in a beautiful courtyard where you couldn’t hear the traffic. About a 20 minute walk to the zocalo. Only thing I could fault be not being able to get wifi in our room. When I sat in the courtyard there was no problem. A small issue. All in all we enjoyed our stay.

This was a very cute hotel and very small. It was hard to understand how to order breakfast and the cook left early. It’s near the city center but not close enough to walk safely at night if you are solo female traveler. Cute garden/sitting area. Lots of jasmine! The employees don’t speak English (which is OK!) but they are very nice and helpful. One thing that surprised me is they kicked out my guest at 11PM by calling several times. They have no guests after 11PM policy which is not listed on hotels.com. They said they would charge me extra if my guest didn’t leave. So weird. We were not being disruptive and guest was not staying the night.

Staying at Hotel Casa de Los Cantaros was a great experience. The staff were very helpful and kind. The location is within walking distance of downtown, and lots of restaurants nearby. It’s a small size hotel with a cute little courtyard and we’ll kept and clean.

This was excellent stay for us. Yes, it’s on a very busy road, but the rooms are tucked in a garden courtyard. The location made it easy to explore neighborhoods we hadn’t seen before. We walked toward El Llano park and has an amazing meal at Elefante Cafe.

We stayed here 10 nights in late January. Quiet, clean, good mattress, room cleaned daily with fresh towels. Good water pressure & hot water. Lovely al fresco breakfast area. Very friendly, helpful staff who coordinated private tours when asked to do so.

Reportamos que estaba sucia la regadera y al día siguiente en lugar de hacer la limpieza, solo tendieron las camas. No hicieron aseo de la habitación y la regadera igual sucia. En el desayuno del primer día el café era sólo agua pintada, sin sabor y sin café.

Quiet area. Ok hotel. Lady at reception was very helpful. All receptionist spoke no English, making it difficult to translate and communicate. Property is not close to the main area of interest ti tourist. Especially when you are tired from walking you want to be close to your hotel to relax and refresh before getting out again. Far to go back and forth. 1 Coffee packet for coffee maker was provided in the room. After that you have to pay for next days coffee. Stone Floor was dirty on first day. Other days it felt like you always had dirty feet. Shower had mold and drain right in the center where you stood.

I really enjoyed the ambience, decor, and quaint atmosphere. The whole staff greeted us helped us call a taxi and gave amazing recommendations on what we should prioritize visiting. The hotel is super clean and very neat. My mom is a tough critic when it comes to cleanliness and she said this was amazing. Thank you for an amazing stay that was so comfortable to stay at. Felt like home.

Very good location… walking distance to the hustle and bustle of the old town with its many attractions. Unfortunately there was a house alarm that went off next door lasting hours. Staff is very friendly . Shower pressure was inadequate …. Very challenging to take a proper shower.

Casa los cantaros was a great place for my friends and family stay. They went above and beyond to find us a baby playpen and bathtub when i asked if they might have one around. They were always very friendly and great at helping us with whatever we needed. Only negative thing i can say is the water pressure of the shower was not good at all... i had to wait for weird hours to shower when i knew no one else was showering lol

Staff was amazing from arrival to departure. Extremely welcoming, we ran into an issue with my parents flight during Dia de Muertos and with all city sold out they were so kind to take them in. This place decoration is breathtaking as well a place that feels home and the staff is always trying to help you with recommendations and anything needed, once you visit you will be a client for life as per my personal experience I’m sure hoping to be back next year.

No hay desayuno los domingos, el restaurante está cerrado y nadie nos avisó. El recepcionista que se queda “de guardia” en la noche es poco servicial e inaccesible. Si llegas tarde en la noche prepárate para esperar a que te habrán, a veces tardan. Avise que mi esposo llegaba más tarde y no le permitieron entrar a la habitación, se quedó horas esperando afuera de la habitación. En general el servicio es pobre, el lugar es acogedor, las recepcionistas del día si son amables.

We stayed here 10 nights in late January. Quiet, clean, good mattress, room cleaned daily with fresh towels. Good water pressure & hot water. Lovely al fresco breakfast area. Very friendly, helpful staff who coordinated private tours when asked to do so.

Casa los cantaros was a great place for my friends and family stay. They went above and beyond to find us a baby playpen and bathtub when i asked if they might have one around. They were always very friendly and great at helping us with whatever we needed. Only negative thing i can say is the water pressure of the shower was not good at all... i had to wait for weird hours to shower when i knew no one else was showering lol

Muy buen lugar un poquito alejado del centro histórico, pero aún accesible caminando y muy cercano a los barrios de Jalatlaco y Xochimilco. La cocina en el hotel es muy buena, aunque el menú es reducido. Sin duda volvería a hospedarme aquí.

Quiet area. Ok hotel. Lady at reception was very helpful. All receptionist spoke no English, making it difficult to translate and communicate. Property is not close to the main area of interest ti tourist. Especially when you are tired from walking you want to be close to your hotel to relax and refresh before getting out again. Far to go back and forth. 1 Coffee packet for coffee maker was provided in the room. After that you have to pay for next days coffee. Stone Floor was dirty on first day. Other days it felt like you always had dirty feet. Shower had mold and drain right in the center where you stood.

Nice, economic place to stay. Rooms were clean and the staff were super helpful. Located on a busy street but the rooms are will back in a beautiful courtyard where you couldn’t hear the traffic. About a 20 minute walk to the zocalo. Only thing I could fault be not being able to get wifi in our room. When I sat in the courtyard there was no problem. A small issue. All in all we enjoyed our stay.

This was excellent stay for us. Yes, it’s on a very busy road, but the rooms are tucked in a garden courtyard. The location made it easy to explore neighborhoods we hadn’t seen before. We walked toward El Llano park and has an amazing meal at Elefante Cafe.

My wife and I stayed in this hotel in October 2024. The hotel is located north of the downtown area, but it is within walking distance to some nice restaurants and to Barrio Jalatlaco ( a must see attraction). Take a taxi to downtown Oaxaca which will cost you $70-90 pesos. The hotel is beautiful. Our room (Santa Maria) was great for my wife and I. All the employees were friendly and helpful all the time. I recommend this hotel if you want to be close to downtown, but far enough to avoid the crowds.

No hay desayuno los domingos, el restaurante está cerrado y nadie nos avisó. El recepcionista que se queda “de guardia” en la noche es poco servicial e inaccesible. Si llegas tarde en la noche prepárate para esperar a que te habrán, a veces tardan. Avise que mi esposo llegaba más tarde y no le permitieron entrar a la habitación, se quedó horas esperando afuera de la habitación. En general el servicio es pobre, el lugar es acogedor, las recepcionistas del día si son amables.

Casa Los Cántaros is very well located between Reforma and the historic centre of Oaxaca. It’s easy to walk to places like Barrio Mágico de Jalatlaco or Templo de Santo Domingo de Guzmán. The staff are very friendly, the rooms are comfortable, and the Wi-Fi works well. The only real downside for us was the continental breakfast included in the room rate. It consisted of a small plate of fruit, a small bowl of yoghurt with granola, two pieces of toast or a rather unusual cake, and one cup of coffee. On our first morning, we weren’t even allowed a coffee refill without paying extra, so we didn’t bother asking again. For an adult, especially someone with a good appetite, it simply isn’t enough for breakfast. We even asked if we could exchange the continental breakfast for a Mexican breakfast and pay any difference, but unfortunately that wasn’t possible. As we went running every morning and needed a more substantial meal afterwards, we ended up leaving the hotel straight after breakfast and buying brunch at a nearby café. Apart from the breakfast, we had some very enjoyable days in Oaxaca, and Casa Los Cántaros was a comfortable and convenient base for exploring the city.
