Wonderful experience! Clean and comfortable and perfectly close to everything you’ll love about SBCA! Would highly recommend for a romantic getaway, & solo travelers! Loved that our stay included free off street and secure parking, and breakfast!

Not worth $450 for 1 night. After a 3 weeks roadcl trip and staying in 9 different hotels this was by far the most expensive offering the least facilities. No wardrobe, no drawers, no coffee machine, no safe, no comfortable chairs in room, no outside space at all just a small area at reception to sit outside of your room. Whilst the location was only a 15 min walk to the beach/shops etc. It was right off the Freeway and you had to cross a busy 4 way junction to get there Bed was comfortable and a good shower. At best I would say $150 a night hotel.

This property is very misleading, it looks cute but it was a horrible stay. The room smelled of bad toilet or floor cleaner, parking was a complete pain with our SUV, we could hardly fit let alone take out baby out. The walls are paper thin, if you’re a light sleeper this place isn’t for you because you hear every car and the loud train that comes by. Breakfast wasn’t great, vegetarian only one option, muffins undercooked and they didn’t have a baby high chair (in case your traveling with a little one). Also no elevator to get to your room so again with a stroller, car seat and luggage, it wasn’t great because the stair way was narrow. Bed was hard and the pillows were not even regular size, they were all half pillows but lots of them which made it awkward to sleep on. Lastly as soon as you step outside there’s homeless on the corner…all in all for the money, it was definitely not worth it because we could’ve paid half for the night and stayed somewhere less “cute looking”.

The free parking was very challenging and difficult to maneuver. The area too small for anything beyond a compact vehicle. It was very apparent when other rooms had people in them due to lack of insulation.

Very cozy. Super quiet room. We had early check in and the room was super clean. Though the bathroom had a little wear, it was beautiful and comfortable. The bed was comfortable and I slept really well, unfortunately the lamp was wonky. The breakfast was super yummy! The parking is tight but I really enjoyed my stay. It was the perfect place to stay while visiting my kid at UCSB. I will stay again.

It was my boyfriend s bday we wanted to have a romantic room with upgraded fireplace. We checked in at 3pm. Happy our room was cozy. We turned on the fireplace which was a remote control operated and it didn’t work. Went to the front desk asking a young man how to work it. Was unsuccessful so ran back down to ask if someone could come take a look. While waiting turned on the TV. It came on then froze after a minute. After an hour the front desk young man came up He couldn’t fix it we also told him about the TV then asked if there was another room available he said he would check and also contact his manager for the fireplace then left. We had made reservations for dinner at 6:00.It’s now 5pm still no help from reception so I called Hotel.com at least 10 times each time after answering all its questions asked and waiting to speak with a customer service it came back saying sorry we re unable to help please call back again. It’s now 5:45 had to rebook dinner reservations then went down to see why it’s we re not being helped.The young man replied oh I was waiting for my manager to response she can give a 10% discount. We gave our phone numbers to be contacted by the manager since the young man was very slow and seems to have a handicapped. The manager never called us back.

We stayed in the large suite and it was very spacious for a family of two adults and two teenagers. Lots of room to spread out and comfy beds. Location is very close to downtown area and beach. Breakfast was quick and very reasonable amounts with good coffee (better than standard buffets). Only downside is parking is primarily meant for compact cars. Front desk person let us park in handicap since there weren't any guests with this need but only one other spot for larger SUV size vehicles.

This place has so much potential but seems mismanaged. Rooms are dirty, smelled like Fabulosa cleaner the entire stay. Air vent was dusty and dirty, sink had crusty yellow hard water stains, floors were sticky, rug was filthy, end tables were sticky. The rooms are so close together you can hear EVERYTHING which wasn’t really an issue until the upstairs guests got home at 10:15pm and were loudly walking around their room for an hour while our 5-month old baby tried to sleep. It’s a shame because it’s a fairly central location to the Funk Zone and State St. It was also way overpriced for what we got. Read the reviews before you book this place— I hope they are able to turn it around.

Very conveniently located, close to the beach and downtown as well. The room was cute. However, the towels were dirty and the rug as well. Although the breakfast was included and supposed to be served between 8 and 10, at 8:20, when we arrived one morning, the breakfast was still not ready and everybody was waiting at the tables. We decided to go somewhere else to eat despite that we had to pay for it.

This is a beautiful cottage. We really enjoyed staying here. The decor is beautiful rather beachy and the rooms are very nicely done super super clean within walking distance of restaurants and shops and the harbor. Breakfast was lovely. We enjoyed it in the sunroom. The only caveat I would say is if you’re staying here be aware there’s a lot of stairs

My fiancé and I booked a one-night stay at this hotel in Santa Barbara for our wedding, and while the front office staff was incredibly kind and welcoming, the condition of our room unfortunately fell far below expectations. When we checked in, the staff at the front desk were friendly, the office area looked great, and after we mentioned that our wedding was the next day, they even gifted us a complimentary bottle of wine, which we truly appreciated. The woman at the front desk pointed us in the direction of our room, and everything seemed off to a good start. However, upon entering our room, we were immediately met with a foul smell. The rugs underneath the beds were dirty, there was a large black spot by the fridge, and later that night as we pulled the curtains closed, we noticed red stains along the bottom. The chair in the room was also extremely dirty the arms were black and looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in quite some time. The bathroom was also concerning. There were visible mold spots on the ceiling of the shower, which made us even more uncomfortable. Trying to sleep was difficult. The bed sheets had a strong, unpleasant odor, and I couldn’t have the blankets near my face. When we unfolded one of the extra blankets, we found a brown stain on it that was questionable. It was incredibly disappointing and unsettling, especially considering this stay was meant to be part of our wedding

It looked like there was black mold in the bathroom on the curtains. And the bedroom and common rooms weren't as clean as I'd like. I used the lobby bathroom a couple times and there was never any toilet paper or paper towels. The location is good and the color scheme is pretty but I think you can find better around this area.

First glance, the property was cute and quaint and had a warm inviting vibe. Unfortunately my bed had dirt and hair all over it and was uncleaned. Housekeeping leaves at 4pm and the man at the front desk offered to change the top layer of the blanket. I then saw the sheets were also dirty and full of hair. They moved my room to a room in the lobby, it didn’t have a latch on the door. They left a mop in the bathroom and whoever was above me stomped around the whole night. I felt like I was in a hostel not a $300++ a night hotel.No consideration for guest experience.. I’ve tried to speak to someone in management for two weeks and have been told someone resigned and someone would cal me back after looking Into this. Corporate doesn’t answer their phone either. Super disappointing. Do better Kirkwood Collection.

The property was freshly decorated and updated. However the room is small, bathroom has almost no counter space. Bring your own shower cap all other amenities you expect from high end hotels. Bot we were mostly disappointed with their breakfast. Not anything close to scrumptious. Expect small , sad looking veggie omelet. Maybe they used 1 or 2 small eggs. Will not stay here again.

Very nice copenhagen-esque rooms - danish minimal boat themed... good breakfast though with limited vegan options.. the avocado bagels were excellent.. the room had a large refrigerator and a quick to warm and cozy picture-esque fireplace... the dual bed room we were in had only double size beds, so there are on the small side for sharing.

The hotel is very cute and well maintained. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Our room was surprisingly spacious and nicely furnished. Overall, a nice hotel perfect for a short stay. The only drawback was the noise. It’s located off a busy street near the highway on ramp. Unfortunately the noise at night made it difficult for us to sleep. If you’re ok with ear plugs then this place would be ideal.

Celebrated my 70th birthday with my girls. Upon arrival Brenden was extremely friendly and helpful. We stayed in the 4 person suite , the room was spacious and very clean . He even had a bottle of champagne chilling for us. Can’t say enough! Thanks for adding to my wonderful celebration weekend .

Very nice place with great service. It felt very homey. It does get a little loud, the room my husband and I were in was downstairs. The following day, someone was in the room above us and it was LOUD. We could hear running and so many thuds above us. Honestly, other than that it was still a great place to stay. William was great and very helpful.

Cozy space with wonderful staff, I enjoyed the breakfast and dining area. My room had a king bed, but instead of king pillows, there were multiple small ones that were uncomfortable. There was trash under my bed that wasn't picked up, and a lot of the windows hadn't been cleaned - spider webs formed in the corners, and a lot of dust glare from the outside. The room also didn't have a dresser to put clothes away.

The property is beautiful and the staff is excellent. However, the room is so small! And walls are thin. You can hear people walking up and down the stairs! I don’t recommend any rooms on downstairs, it is the smallest room by far and you will hear all nice upstairs and outside. For the price, I would stay somewhere else next time closer to state street.

Not quite a “hideaway” This is a cute boutique hotel. It was clean and nicely furnished. The receptionist was lovely and helpful and made a delicious, healthy breakfast. However our room was SO LOUD. The traffic sounds weren’t just a consistent highway sound- they were stop and go and made it impossible to tune out. There is also a train track nearby. From the reviews it looks like some rooms are quiet so be sure to get those rooms. If you’re unlucky enough to get the front room I would encourage you to look elsewhere as you will get no sleep and likely spend the night feeling frustrated and upset.

The word "outrageous" doesn’t even begin to describe our experience at Hideaway Santa Barbara. After hours of driving and with a CONFIRMED and PAID reservation in hand, we were met by a receptionist who coldly informed us about a double booking and that, regrettably, we had no room. While situations like this can happen, what truly turned our disappointment into frustration was the utter lack of solutions or compensations offered. The only glimmer of "help" was a suggestion to try our luck at another nearby hotel, with no guarantee of availability or a reasonable price. Upon insisting that she assist us by calling the other hotel, the price we were offered was almost double and, to add insult to injury, they had no parking available. It's absolutely inconceivable that, in 2023, with such advanced technology and reservation systems, customers are subjected to this treatment and these circumstances. Overbooking management and reservation errors are things that hotels should have under control to avoid such inconveniences to their guests. What could have been a pleasant stay quickly turned into a stressful and exhausting situation, ruining our plans and leaving us scrambling to find a place to rest after a long journey. Hideaway has demonstrated a staggering lack of respect and consideration towards us as customers and, what’s even more astonishing, a total lack of preparedness to handle situations like this in a professional and efficient manner.

Room and breakfast was great. Checking in was a disappointment due to the employee not being there. There were 3 guest waiting in the lobby and no one there…we where the last of the 3 quest to arrive and the only one who stayed to finally get an emergency number from another guest and that person checked us in. William welcomed us warmly to this sweet property with a glass of local wine and fresh baked cookies. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The lobby is a great place to meet up with the other people in our party. Looking forward to breakfast tomorrow!

It was a decent place, but in a terrible location, and not worth $700+ a night. They basically took a beater property and covered it in a bunch of expensive looking stuff. You still get garbage towels and a dirty bathroom with very low water pressure. We had a wonderful view of the dilapidated homes in the very unsafe and gross neighborhood, and the peace and quiet that only comes with listening to all the cars race up and down the very busy street all night. They have no problem charging you $50 to bring a pet, but there is nowhere to walk them without leaving the property and going into the sketchy neighborhood. The breakfast was ok, but pretty basic and more common of a 2 star place. The pictures are doctored to show way more light than there is. Great marketing, but overall a ripoff. There's better places to stay in SB...

We had a fabulous stay at the Hideaway with freshly baked cookies on arrival. Our room and breakfast area was beautifully decorated. Great location to walk to the beach and State Street. We had a delicious breakfast and home baking cooked the following morning. Amazing place, we loved our stay.

Great spot to stay. Close enough to walk to town and the beach. Room was very nice and quaint. Breakfast's wes excellent. Each day something new on the menu. We had wraps and bagel/egg sandwich. Fruit available also. Happy hour was a nice treat with wine and snacks. Would definitely recommend this spot.

The decor is beautiful rather beachy and the rooms are very nicely done super super clean within walking distance of restaurants and shops and the harbor. Breakfast was lovely. We enjoyed it in the sunroom. The only caveat I would say is if you’re staying here be aware there’s a lot of stairs

William at the front desk was very nice and had good restaurant Recs. That’s where it ends for a good experience. The room was clean but small. The noise level around the hotel area was VERY LOUD. Horns honking, lots of traffic, train moving thru and then someone staring at the hotel ran into something with their car in the morning then yelling obscenities and woke us up, along with scooting furniture underneath our room. We went downstairs for breakfast and they were “out of food”. Nothing left at 9:30 when breakfast is from 8-10am. Grabbed a cup of coffee and it was terrible. For the money we spent on the room, ITS NOT WORTH IT. We won’t be going back.

Our unit was clean & peaceful, without bells & whistles, which was nice, like staying with family & having your own space. However, parking was an issue multiple times, and the breakfast is apparently only available from 8:00-9:50am, which was not helpful. There was no room for hospitality one day at 9:57am and they didn't even have to give us breakfast on 2 of the 4 days we were there. Easy walk to wharf/beachfront activities & restaurants.

The full breakfast each morning was great! Each afternoon they offered complimentary wine and cookies. A very nice added touch. The only thing they can improve would be to include chips or nuts with the afternoon wine.
