Nice room, quiet and comfortable, though a little small if sharing. Good breakfast from welcoming and friendly staff. Nice village location. Plenty of private parking, short distance from hotel and some in front.

Stayed here before and would stay again, very friendly, good food (including great breakfast/ breakfast service). Nice tidy little village near good routes to most places in the region. Sensibly priced. Beautiful village green to the front of the Pub, with delicious smelling bed of Hyacinths.

I was able to book at the Crown Hotel a few hours before our stay. It was last minute decision as we live 3 1/2 hours away to where my Son lives, to meet my Grandson who is 2 weeks old. It is a lovely place, went to the bar to book in, the staff and customers were friendly. Chloe took us to the room which was nice. Told us where to go for breakfast following day. (Which was very good) Had a lovely meal in the evening down at the bar scampi and chips, The only downside is the parking there isnt many spaces we were lucky as a customer was leaving as we turned up. I shall book again when we stay. Location is good for us

Parking was very good outside our room front door. Cooked breakfast was hot with a choice of cereals,etc from the buffet. Lovely clean bed and hot water in shower. All the staff were polite and we would definately use The Crown again.

The Crown is a lovely historic period hotel and pub. It is located in a nice quiet village and there are local amenities such as a fish & chip shop and a traditional cafe. Its close to A road links and its 15 minutes drive from Thetford. I am told that this is the location for the filming of the TV show Campion which Peter Davidson stared in. The pub is super traditional and the beer was well kept. There is a lot of "olde worlde" charm to it. There is parking to the front and a beer garden / smoking area out back. The room I had was clean, comfortable and well fitted in a very traditional style. Lovely big sleigh bed and plenty of space to hang clothes etc. Breakfast was very nice, a traditional English breakfast with hearty serving of all the usual. I didn\'t have dinner there but the menu looked good and if it is as well done as breakfast I am sure it will be great. My only criticism is that the bar was very popular on the Friday night I was staying and there was loud music and singing clearly heard in my bedroom until after midnight. Over breakfast I overhead some other residents comment that they had a lovely nights sleep, and some that they had also been disturbed by the bar. So maybe it depends on if you are close to it, or a light sleeper, or both.

Venue is perfect for anyone visiting the surrounding area. It's nice to stay in a place that's got some character about it. The room we had was in the Coach House and was a little tired but perfect for what we needed and the bathroom was clean. Breakfast was good and a few variations for people to try (the full english was great). The staff were friendly and approachable (especially William in the dining room and Siobhan in house keeping), although when they had a function on in the pub it did prove difficult for hotel guests to get a drink. But equally, with so many of our traditional pubs disappearing from our towns and villages, it was nice to see it busy (so may be just an extra staff member might have helped that night). Being a lovely older building, there are a lot of stairs to access a lot of the property, which was fine for us, but might be a little difficult for people with mobility issues. But overall, great place and would definitely stay again in the future.

Had a great 1-night stay with dinner and breakfast at the hotel. Lovely staff, room was nice and clean if a touch warm due to the constant heat from the radiators, but that's normal for these older buildings. Dinner was good and hearty, breakfast was very nice as well. Proper coffee to boot, which is always nice. There's plenty of car parking space at the back of the building, where I initially thought it was out front or in the staff car park. Bar was busy and lively, so a tad loud if you're looking for a quiet night in. There is the beer garden around the back which was nice for a couple of quiet drinks. Would happily stay again.

Lovely, sparkling pub/hotel with huge beer garden in the very picturesque Mundford. Staff are very friendly and even ran me to the train station. One tip though - at breakfast, avoid the scrambled eggs like the plague unless you fancy eating desigated foam!

Fantastic old world traditional pub/hotel atmosphere, great food, very reasonably priced. Fabulous value and a refreshing change from chain hotels. Some rooms are a short walk from the main building in an adjoining row of houses.

Charming Old Pub, Lovely comfortable room and the food in the restaurant was very tasty, we had a evening meal and breakfast was included, the only thing that we could say that needed attention would be the silicone in the shower needs replacing as its not very clean! and no bin in the bathroom! we were in room 21 but all in all a pleasant stay and we would stay again this was our 2nd visit.

The room I stayed in had no lock or latches on one of the windows, it was completely insecure with no way of pulling it to and securing it. The bed sheets were stained yellow from far too many uses. Most of the TV channels were unavailable. The food was less than desirable, I had a beef lasagne which had so many sheets of pasta and very little beef I had to leave more than half of it. It is not clean, not safe and my meal was awful - I never ate there the second day.

Hotel is very nice but could do with a bit of a clean, it’s comfortable and the stay are friendly and helpful. Food was good. Nice quiet area in a village so good for peaceful evening after work day.

We've stayed here before as it's handy for the Red Rooster Festival at Euston Hall. The staff are very helpful and the rooms comfortable and spotless. The breakfast priovided is excellent; very good quality ingredients. Also nice that the hotel is not far from major road network but not on a busy road. Would recommend it and would stay again.

First time staying at the Crown and was certainly impressed by it. It's a very quaint village pub but has lots of rooms and cottages available. I stayed in Swiss Cottage and it was a lovely cottage with a lot of character. The food at the pub was excellent, especially the breakfast.

Very impressed with our stay. We booked a family room, but heard they have cottages, so queried by message and Callum was very helpful. On arrival it was Callum who checked us in and he seemed to be around quite a lot. We were delighted as we were given a cottage. Swiss cottage has a lounge, kitchen, conservatory, a single bedroom, a twin bedroom and a double bedroom, bathroom and shower. The cottage was quite basic but clean and adequately furnished. Heating was very good. Breakfast excellent, we were served all three mornings by a lady who has only just started here and was very friendly and helpful. You can choose your breakfast cooked items also cereal, toast, jams, marmite, orange juice. We had dinner on Friday and it was superb. Excellent menu (the homemade lasagne was one of the best I've ever had). Puddings were great and good size portions. We were visiting my brother in law and his family so will be back again later this year!

I didn\'t have dinner there but the menu looked good and if it is as well done as breakfast I am sure it will be great. My only criticism is that the bar was very popular on the Friday night I was staying and there was loud music and singing clearly heard in my bedroom until after midnight. Over breakfast I overhead some other residents comment that they had a lovely nights sleep, and some that they had also been disturbed by the bar. So maybe it depends on if you are close to it, or a light sleeper, or both.

This is the second time we've stayed and we will be happy to return in the future. We were made to feel welcome by friendly staff on arrival and shown to our room. The room was bigger than expected, with plenty of seating for comfort, lots of storage and windows to ensure the room stayed cool. It was well laid out, to ensure spaciousness. Clean throughout, but a bit worn. Loads of options for a great breakfast, which is included in the price, again staff were really friendly and efficient. The Crown is central for visiting Thetford, the surrounding forest, the Arboretum, which is within walking distance and well worth a visit. The village is friendly and has a lovely chip shop and local store. Next time we visit we'll bring bikes as we also found out they have secure storage areas.

The stay was wonderful everybody was so nice and friendly especially Martin, Karen and Rosie made our stay so nice. Wonderful staff but Martin Stone was our favourite. The only problem was the mattress was very soft and you could feel the springs.

Lovely hotel, nice room, great breakfast really sets you up for the day. Staff are friendly too! Only thing is the bed is a bit old and creaks a lot in the night when turning over and isn't super comfortable but it's not bad. Our towels were replaced but didn't need to be and we were left with only one towel so could have been a bit more eco friendly as we were there for only 2 nights.

I had booked a family room so we were surprised and pleased to discover out accommodation was in fact a 3 bedroom cottage! Great value for money and the breakfast which was included was also very good.

Stayed 1 night while attending a family wedding at Hockwold Hall. We had rooms 11 & 12 made into a family room for the 4 of us. It was absolutely perfect with a separate bedroom and additional, separate toilet. Bathroom had a skylight so you could look at the stars while relaxing in the spacious bath. The venue even arranged transport for us (additional cost) to get us too and from Hockwold Hall. Breakfast was delicious.

Would definitely stay again, the staff we very helpful and friendly! WiFi a little patchy but that is probably due to the thickness of the walls. I would definitely much rather have the character of the place over the WiFi :-)

All the staff were polite and friendly, even though they were so busy with all 40 rooms booked with a wedding party. The room was small but very clean. The lasagne I had was extremely good. My husband had the crab, which he said was tasty but (as a fisherman) the smallest size of crab that could be landed. The only slightly awkward thing was lack of signage to know how to check in, which, it seems, was to be done at the bar.

Checked in very late but that wasnt a problem, made a request for ground floor due to wifes mobility and that was accommodated without issue, room was comfortable, however room was quite warm and fan provided was not suitable could not feel any benefit, shower was a bit temperamental but not an issue, breakfast was fantastic and staff were very atrentive and efficient, shame our stay was so short as would have liked to enjoy the surrounding area as looked very quaint and beautiful, overall very good stay and good value for money, hope to stay again soon.

Stayed here whilst away on business . I was in room 7. Greeted in a really friendly way on arrival. The owner was really friendly and I really appreciate that she took the time to make me a packed breakfast after learning I would be leaving very early before the start of their breakfast the next morning (their breakfast starts at 06:00am but I had to leave before this). She packed me exactly what I wanted and it was really appreciated. Room was lovely and warm which was really welcomed given that it was freezing weather!

Our room overlooked the small village green well away from the mainroads, quiet, well appointed, cleaned and made up every day. Very good breakfasts; lunch and dinner also served. My this or fourth time staying here on business. Pleasant staff, quiet village, well situated for an assault on Norfolk and beyond. I was fortunate to stay in Swiss Cottage this time, which is nicely kitted out and would be a brilliant place for a family / group to stay as a base for an exploration of the region. Village has a chippy, and the pub seems nice, though I've never eaten there, always arriving late and leaving after breakfast (which has been brilliant on earlier visits, but not as good this time around (don't know why - maybe it was me?). Look forward to trying it all again in the not too distant future - good value, nice atmosphere, parking can be tricky if you arrive late, friendly natives!

The Crown is a lovely historic period hotel and pub. It is located in a nice quiet village and there are local amenities such as a fish & chip shop and a traditional cafe. Its close to A road links and its 15 minutes drive from Thetford. I am told that this is the location for the filming of the TV show Campion which Peter Davidson stared in. The pub is super traditional and the beer was well kept. There is a lot of "olde worlde" charm to it. There is parking to the front and a beer garden / smoking area out back. The room I had was clean, comfortable and well fitted in a very traditional style. A single night in a large and pleasant family room with breakfast included cost £114 for the three of us, which we thought very good value. The dinner on the evening of arrival was excellent, the breakfast the following morning less so (a different chef) but there was plenty of it to fill us up for the day ahead. Overall, highly recommended for its welcoming and courteous staff and value for money.

More of a pub than hotel. Flies were everywhere, especially around food. Bedroom and bathroom didn’t feel clean. Only parking was a few spaces outside the front, so all the smokers and drinkers were squeezing past the car all night - thankfully no damage as far as I can tell.

If you like the sterile consistency ,of most hotel chains The Crown is not for you. Quaint and with character is the style of The Crown with good food good service with a smile and at a good price. In a quiet little village by the small green, a lovely little hotel. I would definitely recommend.

Lovely, sparkling pub/hotel with huge beer garden in the very picturesque Mundford. Staff are very friendly and even ran me to the train station. One tip though - at breakfast, avoid the scrambled eggs like the plague unless you fancy eating desigated foam!

A real local ,for locals & visitors friendly & relaxed , the staff professional & nothing too much trouble. We dined at restaurant a varied menu with excellent choices . A bonus was the breakfast, the sausages were locally sourced , best we have ever eaten . Definitely recommend the Crown hotel

Wonderful to be able to stay in very comfortable, well maintained and spacious 17th Century accommodation. The Crown Hotel is the hub of the village. My room at the back overlooked the garden and rooftops so noise was minimal. Food was cooked to order, the included breakfast was marvellous with an excellent choice of hot and cold options including plant based ‘milks’. There was a good evening menu with very substantial servings. The only downside was the lack of vegetarian options. All the staff were very polite, friendly and happy in their work.

Really good, if a little quirky hotel. The room was really nice - the one we had was in the top of one of the out buildings and was very clean and welcoming as well as being very quiet. The bed was really comfortable and the staff were very helpful. The restaurant was very good too, although the portions were enormous! Good breakfast that arrived really quickly and piping hot. Overall couldn't fault it and we'll definitely be going back.
