Good location; right opposite the beach. Room could do with a refurb; decor slightly dated and silicone peeling off in shower. Location dictates lively atmosphere with various bars downstairs. Highly recommend new restaurant, Tiger Fish, that has opened.

This place is WAY over priced for what you get. It’s pretty basic which is fine if you’re paying a pretty basic rate to stay here. We had ( I think) one of the best rooms with corner terrace. It overlooks the main road and a large car park. The common parts badly need renovating. I literally carried a disabled guys wheelchair down the stairs for him as there was no lift and no one to help him. Is that even legal? Disgraceful. There is a building site next door. They start loud banging at 6.45am. No apology note. No little box of chocs or bottle of wine to acknowledge it by way of ‘sorry’. Someone is squeezing out any money they can but I can’t see how it will last. David on reception was very sweet. None of this is his doing. But there is no way I’d recommend staying here unless it’s more like $200 a night rather than $400 .

Fantastic position overlooking the beach. Staff were super friendly and offered perks such as free drink on arrival and option to have loose leaf tea/barista coffee from the bar downstairs as an alternative to the tea and coffee in rooms. Balcony overlooking the sea perfect for the sunset. Clearly with any rooms over a pub there will be noise pollution but the music stopped at 10pm so not an issue. Beach towels also provided in rooms

Property was clean and staff welcoming. Michael was wonderful went above and beyond! Helped us with parking, showed us around. We got a free upgrade on arrival and welcome drinks! Absolutely wonderful! Hotel location perfect. Rooms quiet despite being above the bars. 3 Bars and dining options. Caters for all age groups. Staff really friendly.

Superb staff, fantastic meal at the restaurant, quiet and safe location near the beach, well-kept older building with art-deco charm. Competitively priced with unique character. Had a great stay and will come back again on the next trip!

This is a loud bar with only a few rooms over the bar. DO NOT STAY ON WEEKENDS! We arrived Sunday at 5pm, reception was closed. The bar manager put us in a very tiny room in back away from the hotel bar but it was next to a late night disco with constant boom that was impossible to sleep until it closed. Loud drunks were singing in the street afterwards. It was the worst hotel experience ever. Free parking is impossible when the bars are open. The hotel does not mention any of this in their website description. The coffee maker had not been cleaned and the milk was curdled. There is no elevator and no porter to carry bags upstairs. We were fooled by the advertising. DO NOT STAY HERE!

David on reception was amazingly helpful and is a credit to the company. He also arranged an upgrade to our room which was incredibly kind to room 16. It has a huge balcony with a gorgeous sea view. The bed and pillows super comfy, very nice shower, and huge TV, not that we watched it. The room was also very clean

My room was very clean and comfy, the bathroom was impeccable (in particular) and such a comfortable bed. The hotel rooms are above a busy(ish) bar but i was there early week so the noise was not bad at all. The location is fantastic in terms of proximity to the beach. I’d definitely stay there again.

Compact room but very comfortable and clean with everything you needed. David on reception was very helpful with local info and sightseeing tips. Friendly staff in the bistro. Borrowed free bikes and went for a great ride. Loved the free drink.

Really disappointed- we’d chosen this hotel for our last night in Australia and spent A$569 for a Saturday night. We chose a room, king suite, based on the photo which looked as if the balcony was directly overlooking the sea- it was not. There was a busy road and big car park between us and the sea/beach and it was very noisy. There is no hotel parking just pot luck on the road at the side of the hotel and the car park opposite had a 3 hour limit. Fortunately the housekeeper let us have her space when she left for the day. We had stayed in much better positioned hotels for a lot less during our previous 4 weeks.

Loud drunks were singing in the street afterwards. It was the worst hotel experience ever. Free parking is impossible when the bars are open. The hotel does not mention any of this in their website description. The coffee maker had not been cleaned and the milk was curdled. There is no elevator and no porter to carry bags upstairs. We were fooled by the advertising. DO NOT STAY HERE!

David on reception was amazingly helpful and is a credit to the company. He also arranged an upgrade to our room which was incredibly kind to room 16. It has a huge balcony with a gorgeous sea view. The bed and pillows super comfy, very nice shower, and huge TV, not that we watched it. The room was also very clean

Property was clean and staff welcoming. Michael was wonderful went above and beyond! Helped us with parking, showed us around. We got a free upgrade on arrival and welcome drinks! Absolutely wonderful! Hotel location perfect. Rooms quiet despite being above the bars. 3 Bars and dining options. Caters for all age groups. Staff really friendly.

David was very welcoming. The extras were great (coffee etc). Super convenient, perfect location. Nice people around Cott, minimum of tattoos etc.... Train station not too far (1500m I believe) a bonus.

Really disappointed- we’d chosen this hotel for our last night in Australia and spent A$569 for a Saturday night. We chose a room, king suite, based on the photo which looked as if the balcony was directly overlooking the sea- it was not. There was a busy road and big car park between us and the sea/beach and it was very noisy. There is no hotel parking just pot luck on the road at the side of the hotel and the car park opposite had a 3 hour limit. Fortunately the housekeeper let us have her space when she left for the day. We had stayed in much better positioned hotels for a lot less during our previous 4 weeks.

This place is WAY over priced for what you get. It’s pretty basic which is fine if you’re paying a pretty basic rate to stay here. We had ( I think) one of the best rooms with corner terrace. It overlooks the main road and a large car park. The common parts badly need renovating. I literally carried a disabled guys wheelchair down the stairs for him as there was no lift and no one to help him. Is that even legal? Disgraceful. There is a building site next door. They start loud banging at 6.45am. No apology note. No little box of chocs or bottle of wine to acknowledge it by way of ‘sorry’. Someone is squeezing out any money they can but I can’t see how it will last. David on reception was very sweet. None of this is his doing. But there is no way I’d recommend staying here unless it’s more like $200 a night rather than $400 .

This is a great place to stay. I was last here pre-covid when the restaurant menu was fantastic. Unfortunately this is not the place to eat any longer. Here’s hoping they improve the menu to match the high quality accommodation.

I think the price paid does not reflect the standard. We checked into a room and it was one of the smallest rooms I’ve ever stayed in… pictures not reflective of what the hotel is really like. We ended up upgrading with total cost over Au $500 really disappointing. Worse was no parking onsite at all. Only one staff member helped us and older lady who was amazing. 3 other staff walked right past us trying to lift our suitcases up the staircase. Location fantastic but that’s about it.
