Excellent staff except in the dining area, the chef left the job on the day so good they carried on. Getting in and out of shower and bed was not designed very well for older people in our room. Public rooms were popular and well thought yet enough room for a quiet space. We just used it for a night to wind down from work before a week in holiday accommodation. This worked well for us and avoided the heavy weekend traffic

we spent a long weekend beginning of September 2024, staying in a deluxe four poster room. The room was spacious but the carpet a bit grubby because it was a dog friendly room (we took our dog). Hotel is very dog friendly which we appreciated and each morning she was given her own sausage to eat which was very kind :). Hotel is conveniently situated on the Coast Road so we were easily able to get to Overstrand, Cromer and down to Bacton and Walcott. It was quiet and the bed was clean and comfortable. Would visit again!

This property is very tired the service was terrible food poisoned the first night meal no gluten free or dairy free for breakfast had to take my own food with me, the bathroom had massive mould on the ceiling the carpets were filthy the toilet seat was loose and the shower switch was missing parts so loose and broken, the fire alarm went off and we was left no one told us to get out very poor and definately not meeting the health and safety regulations

A little slow checking in, short staffed. Room was tired and wasn’t as clean as it could be. Shaving hairs in bath cobwebs, lipstick mark on cup and sheet marked. Breakfast was lovely staff were polite. Couldn’t fault portion size and piping hot.

Very disappointed in our stay. We had a bathroom that was filthy with black mouldsThe carpets in the room very dirt and not hoovered the shower didn’t work well. We had to leave early for our Macmillan hike and a pa Jed breakfast. The. Bacon say we ordered. The bacon was raw. I will not recommend to anyone. Not worth anything especially the price staying there

Food was delicious. Bed comfy. No aircom but took a fan with me. Gave us half a toilet roll to last 3 nights. Didn’t replenish any shampoos after first night. Bedroom and bathroom not very clean. Mould for example. Carpets tired looking throughout. Waiting staff poor. Very slow to take orders. At breakfast we were isolated from other guests because we had a dog with us (which we had paid £30 for), so felt rather awkward being put in a dark room on our own. Not worth the three figure cost per night despite delicious food.

The stay was fine, upon our arrival our meeting was " fill in the form, follow the arrows to your room" What I expected was " welcome to the royal, your room is on the third floor and arrows point out the way, do you require assistance with your bags" The room was clean but the mirror was in the wrong place as there was no lights for makeup application. The hotel is under refurbishment so allowance must be made. One complaint is: we were the only guests and we went out and our room was not cleaned, we returned late in the evening looking forward to tea and biscuits, but were presented with an un made room. On check out we were told you should have said something but at 23:30 I'm sure no one would have been about. All we got was a 'sorry'. Breakfast was ok but again microwave bacon is very crispy our second day we had poached eggs, strongly recommended.

There were so many stairs (it does say there are stairs but it was an exceptional amount). No lift which it stated but with arthritis it was very difficult and uncomfortable going up and down several staircases to get to the room. Even the ladies toilet was upstairs - although I found a disabled toilet on the ground floor when I went to breakfast. It would have been good to know about it on arrival. The room was very nice although a little in need of sprucing up.

We needed a room for one night for a last minute break. Mundesley is quiet and a perfect overnight for us. Hotel a short walk to beach Hotel had everything we needed; bar, comfortable room, breakfast, all as you’d expect.

Generally my stay was fine, the showers are very small and the breakfasts simple. I am not sure of i would stay there again.

The staff here are amazingly helpful and friendly, a real step back to old fashioned values. Arriving on E-bikes we asked about storing them overnight, the guy on reception took us round to the garage where he started shifting things around so we could get our bikes in, even though it meant he got covered in dust and cobwebs. Our room was large with a large bed, everything was perfectly clean. There were a few strong doors to go through to get to the room with motion sensor lights to help in the dark corridors. We drank/ate in the bar, I didn't want much as we'd had a 3 hour lunch stop. The staff sorted me out with a lovely cheese & ham doorstep sandwich. The restaurant opened at 6.30pm and dead on 6.30 my sandwich arrived. Would have loved to have been more hungry and eaten in the restaurant, maybe next time. This hotel had a great reputation for music in the 60's and 70's, so I was very pleased to see they still have occasional music nights that harp back to those days. We very much enjoyed our stay here, an iconic Norfolk hotel that we're so pleased we finally got to visit.

We stayed here last minute for our anniversary. Room was beautiful with a four poster bed. We ate in the restaurant that evening. Plenty of choice and food was amazing. Breakfast next morning was lovely as well. We loved our stay here!
