We recently stayed at Vintage Block and we were pleasantly surprised. Upon check in we got a room with more beds than expected which was nice. Our fridge was not working appropriately upon arrival and they promptly brought in a new one. There were a lot of fun activities to do during down time. Our kids absolutely loved the bikes and games. If I had to give some feedback it would be that some of the games were old and weathered. The basketball shot needed batteries and the balls were flat, but we made it work and still had so much fun! I would recommend this place.

We LOVED our stay. It was fun to go outside and play bags or sit by a fire. The kids loved the pool. The Block Party Bar has amazing drinks and live music—very fun place.

Great little old motel style feel with nice looking rooms and individual parking. Also has a community strip in the middle with a pool, chairs, fire pits, yard games and grills. Really sweet place if you looking for a different type of hotel stay.

There is a center location that all rooms face that has a small fire pit, grill, corn hole, surry bikes, pic nic tables, pool, all ages table games, free breakfast items, & optional lunch & new bar. There is a gas station a very short distant from the Inn. The staff is very very friendly. You won't be disappointed!

We have stayed at VB many times over they years. We didn\'t care for the " new bar area" To us it seemed to create parking issues. We totally get that VB is trying something new and trying to survive a wierd high water goofed up boating year... but it\'s not our cup of tea. Good luck with it VB.

It was a trip back to the 1960s. It is a small Motel from the 1960s. The rooms are small by today’s standards but have been upgraded. Not fancy but clean. The pool is clean. There are games for the kids. Fire rings to use with firewood provided. Grills to cook out if you want. Rental bicycles on site and a block from the lake

Nicely remodeled; nice pool, great outdoor area with fire pits and games. Great value for the cost. There wasn’t an accessible ice machine which would have been nice. Overall, would return!!

Was a quick getaway. Since offseason the place was not busy and quiet. Just what I wanted and needed. Room was sufficient and close to food and other amenities. Only down side there was no ice machine and difficult to get ice of office was closed.

Cute little “motel” with so much character and charm! Customer service was top notch! Had an issue with some food, not only did they take care of it, they asked our opinion on what they could do to make it better! Breakfast is a little lacking. Pool was too cold to use but the outside areas are lovely! Fire pits, cornhole games and lots of seating! Definitely would recommend to others!

Comfortable beds, fun remodel design, easy parking right in front of unit. They were set up with books and extras for kids. No options for Gluten Free breakfast, room smelled musty, possibly it was the A/C unit.

Apparently our stay was a little too early in the season so they are not not offering breakfast. We also found a glob of hair on the shower wall. Otherwise wise the staff was nice & offered great local options & the room seemed clean otherwise.

This was such a cute place. I was very impressed with everything. Check in was smooth and front desk rep was very nice and friendly. This property did include breakfast (but I didn’t go to breakfast). The swimming pool was outside but looked very clean. Property and rooms were very clean. Bed was very comfortable. Each room has a table and chairs outside. The table has a game on it. Overall, great stay. I will stay here again when back in Okoboji.

We stayed here 1 night to check out the Okoboji area. The room was clean and the bed comfy. It was a chilly night so they had a real wood firepit burning outside. It was too breezy to play any of the various yard games they had out.

It’s a nicely remodeled motel. Rooms are tiny and bathroom extremely tiny. Great location. Staff was mostly friendly. I didn’t eat breakfast as it was only processed foods but they have a typical continental b’fast. Cool options like a small pool and firepit. Overall good stay.

Classic Motor Motel, but updated. Overall okay stay, but rooms are small and overpriced. No storage or drawers, so we had to live out of our suitcases. Evening Bar with live music was fun. Very pleasant staff, and hardworking.

Ok place to stay. Was clean. Bed was comfortable. Shower was hot. Property was nice. Thought it was a little expensive for what I got. Hotel is old, but pretty well kept. Breakfast was all bread/carb (waffles, donut holes, toast, min-muffins, cereal, mini bagels). Overall ok and cheaper than other options in Okoboji - but I wouldn't go out of my way to stay there again.

I loved how clean and big the room was. The room smelled like cedar wood. It was refreshing NOT to smell a mildewy room. I enjoyed the pool and the fire pit area. The location was ideal. I was dissapointed I couldn't watch local tv channels for the price we paid though.

Such a cute hotel! We were only there for 1 night and didnt get to spend a lot time there but it was so cute. Would be a great spot for a get away with the pool and yard games and fire pit. Very inviting and nice people. The room was much larger than expected with a nice kitchenette and sitting area thought I reserved a room with 2 queen beds and we had 1 king 2 queens and bunk beds in the sleeping area. Was nice to have a separate sink vanity in the sleeping area also. The Bathroom was a tad small but served its purpose. Definitely would recommend staying here.

First, management had to open the door to my room because there was a problem and it had to be pushed, pulled and lifted up to open. Tiny room and TV uses apps that you must sign into with your own sign-in info. The mattress had to have been 30 or more years old. The mattress was so soft I couldn't sit on the edge of the bed without sliding off. There were so many hard lumps in the mattress, I woke up with a sore neck and shoulders. This was probably the worst bed I have ever slept in. There was a body pillow with no pillow cover on it lying on the bed, gross. Tiny room with furnishings most likely purchased at a garage sale; old, chipped and cracked. Had to go to front office to get ice and handed out in gallon zip-loc bag.Very odd place, nice people, with interesting outside amenities. Good place to get drunk and party with friends outside in the "fire-pit" area.If this room cost $69 I'd say a decent deal, you get what you pay for, but at over $150, a rip-off.

I'm putting in a complaint to Hotels.Com, not the Vintage Block. Once again, Hotels is showing amenities that are not available. This is happening more frequently over the last year or so. Once again, Hotels shows breakfast available, and it's not. I've been looking for an online method of complaining, but it's just not there. Overall the Vintage Block is a great place to stay. Friendly service, clean, quiet. Beautiful room. I'd likely stay again

Expedia allowed me to book this hotel for Nov 8th when it clearly stated (after the fact) the season ended Nov 1st. I was the ONLY GUEST in the whole hotel. Not even a front desk employee on site. Our key was left in a bucket outside the door!!

I like supporting "local" when I can. This place is way different than corporate chain-style lodging venues. It has character. Friendly hosts and a nice facility with a "vintage" feel - hey, after all it's part of their name! Although my room was on the small side, it had everything I needed and nothing I didn't - it was clean, nicely decorated in a rustic style that was just plain comfy. In an area like Okoboji, who spends a lot of time in a motel room anyway? It's centrally located to just about any place you'd want to visit in the lakes area. Bike rentals on-site and a bar and grill next door with outdoor seating and live music Friday and Saturday nights during the summer. No complaints here! First time there but I'd absolutely stay again.

Have to say I take issue with some of the negative reviews, this place offers so much more than many other standard hotels. It’s a great place for a family on a budget. They provide lots of games and in the front office just about every board game available. Outside, you have a nice pool and the ability to have a campfire and they also provide the wood! There’s also barbecues and games in those areas. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a place provide Wood for campfires. Just about anywhere you go in this small area there are Games for entertainment. In fact, my wife and I played checkers for the first time in many years. Moreover, this motel is very close to the lake and many of the attractions that are in the area. Yes, this is an older motel that has been renovated, but it is clean and it looks nice. The only negative thing that I have to say is the breakfast that you get in the morning is just carbs. There’s no option for eggs, but that was fine with us. We had our coffee and we went somewhere else for breakfast. I still feel that, this is an excellent place to stay and on top of that they do have some pedal buggies that you can rent. My wife and I love this place and would absolutely return on our next visit.
