Suburban Studios Fairborn - Dayton

I checked in, went to my room, the hallways are so hot I was sweating. Upon opening my door, the blast was worse, room was 87°. It took running the A/C set at 60° 4 hours to cool the room. I chose this hotel because it has a pool, the pool is closed for the season. I used the restroom in my room and the toilet would not flush, I was told at checkout that they had to turn the water off because of a leaking pipe... are you kidding me??? The ENTIRE PROPERTY is TRASHED!!! TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!

The room was nice and comfy. We enjoyed that it had a full refrigerator, a sink (with a few cups) , microwave, and a bunch of drawers to put stuff in. The bathroom sink has a bunch of room for things. The shower felt soooo good. It was disappointing that the pool wasn’t open. That’s something i look for when searching for a hotel to stay in. Maybe next time. Other than the pool, the place is enjoyable to be at.

I booked this property years ago at the same date and the pool was open. This time the pool was closed I wish someone would have told me.

Had problems with key cards

The hotel is being renovated so from the outside it looks like an abandonded building. On top of it looking abandonded, there was no clear signage stating that the building was the location of the hotel other than a few very small signs located no where near the actual building. I would not recommend this property for those two reasons as I felt uncomfortable staying in a place that looks run-down. The room itself was fine as it had been remodeled but the overall look of the hotel was so horrible it was hard to enjoy the renovations to the actual room itself.

Staff was friendly, the room was clean. The air conditioner was loud. The pool was not available. No breakfast...

Room was adequate to my needs (sleep and shower). Ice machine out of order was inconvenient. Hotel being renovated so may be better.

The overall state of this property was in disarray. The keycards needed to be reprogrammed several times over a 2 night stay. The entire building stunk of cigarette smoke and mildew. The pool was not open, basic amenities were not provided, and there were long periods of time when no one was available at the desk. Avoid this place until they get it together.

Property not as described. It’s old and maybe in the midst of renovations but hard to tell. Refreshing pool (which our 3 grandkids were looking forward to) was not open - still closed from winter. It did have a fridge and microwave but no place to sit. Bathroom was rough and water pressure was very low. We wouldn’t stay again.

First, this was a $50/night hotel, and the stay was fine for the price, more later. I just needed a place to come back to and sleep for two nights. Night manager was friendly and answered questions I had about the hotel. I was told hotel is under new ownership and is being renovated. Extensive construction was obvious pulling up. There were at least four construction containers, the front entry portico had both a very large stack of carpet under tarps and another large stack of new boxed furniture and toilets. North hallway and one side of entry is filled with materials pulled from rooms. Construction folks were working on site clearing out rooms, filling multiple dumpsters. For the room I was given, it was clean and beds comfortable. Bathroom and shower had been cleaned. Not perfect physical condition, but not bad. Room had LED TV, microwave, refrigerator, desk, and safe; all worked. Currently, no amenities except ice machine. Locks on external doors were turned off. Likely due to construction worker traffic. It would be interesting to see how far new owners go with renovation. It has the potential to be a nice budget category hotel. It is a big facility including what was once a bar or banquet area. It is very close to Wright Patterson, a university, and a short drive to all of the Dayton area. It is in a pleasant older style suburban neighborhood and commercial area but surrounded by all the new suburban growth, restaurants, and amenities.

It was fine, the whole building had a musty smell to it, including the room, service was good, everything was just fine, not terrible, but not good

Room was ok, sheets and towels were clean. The hallways were musty and smelled of marijuana, there were people coming in and out of the unlocked side door with construction gallon buckets getting ice. Obviously, just a rundown hotel, but it worked for the night. Wouldn't stay there again, though.

Based on the ratings I expected a different experience. This place overall was in very bad condition. The plaster was peeling off the walls and ceilings from water damage in the bedroom and bathroom. The floor was very sticky and the bed sheets had stains on them. Air conditioner was very old and loud. Couldn’t keep up with the demand. Many people seemed to live in this hotel. Staff was friendly….that was a positive.

We stayed three nights they didn’t change our sheets or give us fresh towels. The floor was dirty we had to sweep it ourselves. The lobby and the hallways smelled like dead animals. And the air conditioning barely worked

THE PICTURES ON THE LISTING ARE DECEIVING. THE PROPERTY LOOKS LIKE A CRACKHOUSE. THE OUTSIDE ARE FULL OF CIGARETTE BUTTS AND TRASH. THE DOORS ARE ALL DISGUSTING. Once you enter the hotel, there is not enough ventilation, the carpets REEK and the hallways smell like WEED, EXPIRED CURRY, AND CIGARETTES altogether. Carpets in the hallways and stairways are all stained of you dont even know what. The room itself looks updated but not cleaned enough. The bathroom had someone else’s hair on the tub when I havent even used it, some random dead bugs in the room and windows are dirty. We definitely felt unsafe and uncomfortable during our stay. To everyone, DO NOT BELIEVE THESE PICTURES AND REVIEWS. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

Room was immaculate

No electricity on side of room with TV, Microwave, computer desk. Spoke to management and they did nothing.

The Hotel room itself was clean and satisfactory. All other areas of the hotel were dirty and unkept due to renovation. They put me in the middle of the construction. There was drywall dust and dirt all the way down the hallway in the carpets in which I was tracking it into the room. Internet reception was poor and could not do work with my computer. 2 bars.

I stayed for a short time and didn’t spend much time in the hotel and wouldn’t recommend it for extended stays but if you’re coming for very short time and want something cheap then yeah i’d stay here.

Staff is great. Rooms are nice and clean. Beds are comfortable. Large tv. Good picture. New microwave . Full size fridge. Everything was great. Nice and quiet.

There was weak coffee in the morning with powdered creamer. Good value for price. Area was safe. While getting back on a highway you’ll pass by military planes parked on air force base - cool sight.

We called expedia, explained, got a refund and a new hotel!

Couldnt check in because of the staff

First room they gave me hadnt been cleaned. Then 2nd room i had several brown spots on ceiling like water leaks, there was dried up poop stains under sink in bathroom. So cleaning is horrible at this place. Also toilets are HORRIBLE barely flushes regardless of going 1 or 2. Had to call for maintenance and then several hours later still nothing. Turns out the front desk never even called maintenance. Maintenance guy was fantastic. He came immediately after i called the front desk and complained about no one coming at first. He did his best to fix but toilet still had problems. Also place doesnt look as nice as pics online. VERY run down .

The staff disregarded my privacy and still entered my room and decided to help themselves to a brand new pair of under armour shorts when I questioned the office they told me to wait for the cleaning people to come in 3 hours later ,top of that if you enjoy being woken up by the fire alarm at 3 am this will be the place for you the staff is a joke and I wouldn't let my dog stay here or even a homeless man because they will probably end up having their stuff taken as well

To me, a room is a place to shower and sleep. For a cheap room, it was great. No bugs, clean and friendly staff. I would have liked a coffee pot in the room, but that is becoming a thing of the past. Our friends had an issue with their room, but the staff fixed it immediately. If I go back to the area, I would stay there again.

The only thing I didn’t like is that ppl was screaming on the halls , I had my son and husband and then getting out of the car two men was by the doors making a deal and smelling like pot

Staff is nice. Older hotel, rundown, basic and clean, no bugs. Felt safe. Large parking lot. Quiet. Very reasonable price. 5 days for $235, 7 days for $290, monthly $925 + taxes and fees, there is a $50 refundable deposit. Daily is cheaper online however, around $73. Deposit $20. No pets, service animals ok.

I didn’t even get out of my car. The place liked abandoned and run down. Never checked in and couldn’t cancel.

Owners have just been upgrading. Property is adequate, and clean...Good value for price. Not extravagent or fancy, but gets the job done. Neighborhood is a bit sketchy, but facility is secure and safe. Very friendly staff.

Decent price for a decent hotel. The staff was very friendly and courteous. I would recommend for a quick stay over in Fairborn/Dayton area.

I was pleasantly surprised by the condition of the room for the price. Don't let the outside of the building or the price deter you. Very clean and well taken care. No major issues. They look to be remodeling.Be aware there is no breakfast and the coffee is a pot. Only feedback. Add regular half and half instead of flavored. Well worth the price but don't expect a 100 room.

This is a nice low cost option. Very clean and mostly updated. Only complaint for me was the coffee.

Admittedly, I was looking for a cheap hotel and the price was right. The website is very misleading. The pictures must be 10-15 years old. There is no bar as the website states and the place looks like a bomb went off. I will need to spend the next few days showering in scalding hot water to feel clean again.
