Renaissance Lucerne Hotel

I recently stayed at this so-called “5-star” hotel, and it was nothing short of a nightmare. The online description is utterly misleading. Here’s why: First, there are no restaurant services or any form of food available. For a hotel that claims to be 5-star, this is unacceptable. The hours of operation for anything remotely service-related are bizarre and highly inconvenient. You can’t even get basic amenities like water; there’s no way to ask for it, and the room has a small, empty fridge with no bottled water provided. The room itself was ugly and uncomfortable. There was no air conditioning control, and I suspect there wasn’t even AC, just a barely functional fan. This made for a very uncomfortable stay, especially during the warmer parts of the day. Moreover, the staff was unprofessional and unhelpful. They certainly did not provide the level of service one would expect from a 5-star establishment. Their attitude and service were more fitting for a 1-star motel. Overall, this hotel is a huge disappointment. It’s not even worthy of a single star. I would not recommend it to anyone. Save your money and stay somewhere that actually meets its advertised standards.

First time visiting Luzern. Booked the studio suite. Parking is difficult but the check in staff helped a lot. Great staff!! Room was spacious but very uncomfortable furniture and a tiny, tiny bathroom. Stand up shower has no door so water goes everywhere. Ugh, not for me.

Quarto espaçoso, camas confortáveis, banheiro grande e muito limpo. Café da amanhã excelente com várias opções, atendimento impecável. A localização é perfeita, fica a 5 min andando do centrinho da cidade! Nós adoramos, com certeza voltaremos em uma outra oportunidade.

Nice hotel. Room was very small with an odd layout. Bathroom was up 3 stairs from the foot of the bed. So weird. Otherwise, it was quiet, beds were comfy and the place is super clean.

The Renaissance Lucerne Hotel is a well maintained and centrally located hotel. It's a five minute walk from Lucerne HB. Unlike many such locations in other cities the area is spotlessly clean and safe. The hotel staff are friendly and welcoming. My room was ready at lunchtime and I appeared to get an upgrade. The room was spacious, well furnished and clean Would happily return.

Our stay at the Renaissance was very disappointing overall. The good: - Location is excellent - Front desk staff is polite The bad: - No bottled water in the room and 9chf per bottle if you ask for it at reception - No Do Not Disturb sign in our room, and had to deal with housekeeping knocking and asking them to come back later. Asked the front desk for a DND sign but never got one. - Excessive noise from the hallways and of doors being slammed shut constantly - Body wash ran out and wasn't refilled during our stay, and the trash can wasn't emptied on one of the days either. Also found hair that didn't belong to us in the bathroom. I believe the Renaissance hotel can and should do much better, and I'll be searching for a different hotel next time I visit Lucerne.

Everything was great. Staff was super kind and very helpful and room was neat and clean. I would like to visit again if I go to Luzern.

Room air conditioning unit was not cooling enough and moldy at the vent. Not expected from a five star hotel. Despite notifying reception nothing was done except for a thank you for notifying us. Will never stay there again.

Great location and easy check-in process. The room was very warm and stuffy, even though the temperatures outside was cooler in the 50’s F. This made the sleeping condotions very uncomfortable.

Heat was out and the room was freezing. No blow drier. Cleanibg stsff was reslly nice but iur room was next door to the storage room so the door was loudly closing constantly wsking us up.

Kleines Superior Zimmer, Minibad, kleine recht schäbige Rezeption, Personal nett, aber insgesamt kein 5 Sterne Hotel Standard und viel zu teuer.

Great location near the train station and downtown. Comfy room, but rather small bathroom.

Horrible service. We booked the reinsurance and we were moved to a different hotel.

Helpful staff

Property was easily walkable to Chapel Bridge and Allstadt. Nice park and multiple good restaurants nearby. The staff were very welcoming and went overboard in helping us get familiar with the area. Highly recommend.
