It is modern, clean, and close to many fine restaurants and bus and train transportation. This is an excellent location for access to Edinburgh to the north, Newcastle to the south, and nearby tourist attractions, and affordable!

It is modern, clean, and close to many fine restaurants and bus and train transportation. I've not stayed in a YHA for many many years - but so delighted to find they are still going strong and are embracing all who come .... including those like me who are older "youth". The bed was single, but comfy and the bedding nice and warm. I was in a room for 5, but had it all to myself. Good shower, and bathroom facilities en-suite. All the staff I met were extraordinarily friendly, welcoming and kind. The cafe area had good selection of food and drinks. Breakfast was great. The room - and the shared areas - were clean. Good supply of local area walks; tourist places; Lindisfarne tide times and bus timetable. I will definitely consider staying in a YHA again on my next trip.

Last minute break away with my son, staff very friendly and very helpful. Everything was there in the kitchen people were friendly and there were no issues. However the only down side of the stay was the bed, it was solid, uncomfortable, and I awoke a couple of times in agony with my back. I'm not use to such a firm bed.

We found it hard to find the entrance when first arriving. Reception/ restaurant area is warm & inviting. Our room was a good size, paying similar to hotel properties, i would expect towels to be included in the room price. Other than that it it was a nice stay. Close to town.

Our room, L02 had an ensuite disabled type bathroom. Unfortunately due to a combination of poor design and poor cleaning the bathroom and adjoining room smelt badly of mould.

Upon arrival to Berwick we had a difficulty in finding the hostel and had to ring for the directions unfortunately. There's no TV in our room, no internet access as well which is a bummer 😕😔 Apart from that it's good that our room is situated in the ground floor which is good for me since I'm a disabled and the bathroom is a big plus,too!

An amazing stay, with really friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful building, couldn't have been made to feel more welcome. Very comfortable bed and very quiet. Super coffee and John was an absolute super star helping me get my vehicle started! Will definetely be back, thanks guys, you are all epic

Despite their website stating restaurant closed at 20:30 it actually closes at 17:00-as you cannot check-in before 17:00 that is very unhelpful. I was charged twice for the breakfast. Wifi is high speed and available in the room. Reception staff far too sarcastic and disrespectful

The staff were really friendly and gave us loads of advice about where to visit during our stay. The breakfast was lovely. The building was outstanding. A very peaceful night's sleep and the shower was super powerful and amazing

El lugar muy agradable y el personal mucho mejor. Regresaríamos ahí y seguro lo recomendamos. La habitación es grande pero solo sin literas así que solo es para dormir y no para estar en la habitación ya que es cómoda solo para dormir.

While I only had a short stay, the establishment and the friendliness of the staff was top notch! I thought the accomodations were more than adequate for my single night stay, and the proximity to the water and restaurants and water was amazing. A great stay.

While I only had a short stay, the establishment and the friendliness of the staff was top notch! I thought the accomodations were more than adequate for my single night stay, and the proximity to the water and restaurants and water was amazing. A great stay.

We found it hard to find the entrance when first arriving. Reception/ restaurant area is warm & inviting. Our room was a good size, paying similar to hotel properties, i would expect towels to be included in the room price. Other than that it it was a nice stay. Close to town.

I've not stayed in a YHA for many many years - but so delighted to find they are still going strong and are embracing all who come .... including those like me who are older "youth". The bed was single, but comfy and the bedding nice and warm. I was in a room for 5, but had it all to myself. Good shower, and bathroom facilities en-suite. All the staff I met were extraordinarily friendly, welcoming and kind. The cafe area had good selection of food and drinks. Breakfast was great. The room - and the shared areas - were clean. Good supply of local area walks; tourist places; Lindisfarne tide times and bus timetable. I will definitely consider staying in a YHA again on my next trip.

Despite their website stating restaurant closed at 20:30 it actually closes at 17:00-as you cannot check-in before 17:00 that is very unhelpful. I was charged twice for the breakfast. Wifi is high speed and available in the room. Reception staff far too sarcastic and disrespectful

The staff were really friendly and gave us loads of advice about where to visit during our stay. The breakfast was lovely. The building was outstanding. A very peaceful night's sleep and the shower was super powerful and amazing

The staff were super friendly full of knowledge regarding local are. Didnt have drinks facilities in room but did have fantastic kitchenette on top floor so don't forget to pack your teas and coffees. Lots communal areas for families with board games and books on offer as well as quiet spaces if you just needed to kick back and relax

Overall a very good value place to stay, and as long as you know the place’s limits in advance you can plan round them. A bit on the basic side (no desk in the room, no towels, no dedicated wifi (something cloudy that didn’t work on 4th floor, so I tethered iPad to phone). toilet and shower a bit “military grade” but the price point was exceptional. Most of the staff were really friendly. Oh yeah there was a bit of a smell in the 4th floor corridor, but this was only in the corridor not in the room thankfully.
