Great location. Just park the car in nearby underground parkade and leave it there. Can walk everywhere.

Easy access to waterfront promenade and dining options. Lovely quaint hotel but access to the rooms is limited to a singular steep, narrow staircase which would pose difficulties to some.

The hotel is really quaint and in a wonderful are of the city. Restaurants and shopping are very walkable. Rodney and Alison were very helpful with instructions and recommendations . Only downside is no elevator and having to carry your luggage up and down flights of stairs, although Rodney did carry ours up.

Fantastic location right next to Chateau Frontenac. Parking very close to hotel. Could use some touchups in the rooms especially bathrooms. Rooms were nice, old stone walls, espresso machine in the lobby. First email said we wouldn't have housekeeping but they were there at least twice. Very convenient location at a great price.

Very convenient location in downtown. No parking provided by hotel. We parked in the Hotel Frontenac, it did cost $50 per day but was literally only steps away. We had the room with a private balcony. I highly recommend !

Awesome location (right by Chateau Frontenac / Fairmont). Steep narrow stairs to rooms (no elevator). There’s a lounge downstairs with coffee / tea and a soda bottles type fridge. 2 parking garages around for cars shorter than 6’2”. A few open air lots further up (10 min walk) that allow parking for 24-hrs at a time.

Recomendo! Pontos positivos: sistema de auto check in e check out funcionam perfeitamente. Ponto alto é a localização! Super funcional, sem pagar muito. Pontos negativos: Quarto e Banheiro pequenos. Há escadas, então se estiver com muitas malas e/ou pesadas, pode ser um trabalho.

This is a very old and historic hotel in a perfect location, just behind Chateau Frontenac. Easy walking distance to most everything. No elevators. A small lounge with a microwave, coffee machine and very small ice maker. It makes about 3 cups of ice. But there is a mini-fridge and coffee maker in every room. Allison was the lovely young woman at the desk. She was so helpful, lending me the office corkscrew for a bottle of wine, and ordering our next-day taxi back to the airport. This hotel does not have 24/7 desk staff. Guests are given a code number to enter the building after staff has gone for the day. Hotel Jardin du Gouverneur is old and funky; its best quality is location. It does have comfy beds and bedding, and it was clean. Our room was on the second floor, and the only room with a patio. It overlooked the garden park, and the St Lawrence River. It was lovely. I would stay there again, if I ever get back to Quebec City.

The property is fantastic for the money. Just be aware there is no elevator and there is 4 floors.

The space was incredibly cramped, especially the bathroom. The sink was hard to use, and the shower was so tiny that I could barely fit inside (I'm 5'7" and 52 kilos). The building was very old and didn't seem or feel clean at all.

The location of the property is perfect. The beds were clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Parking was close and reasonable. But the photos of the rooms on Expedia, or at least the room we stayed, in are incredibly misleading and not even close to a reasonable representation of what you are paying for. The photos on Expedia show nicely renovated rooms in excellent condition. Nothing could be further from reality. The dust caked on the bathroom fan was disgusting. And the fan itself was so loud that it couldn't be left on. The heater in the bathroom next to the toilet was filthy and covered in rust. I will let you use your imagination as to why. The shower had rust and disgusting caulking. The hair dryer didn't work. The laminate flooring throughout was buckled, like it had been flooded several years ago and never repaired. There was 1 accessible plug in the room. The walls are a dark grey, making the entire room feel very unappealing. I was expecting a small room. But one in this condition? Not at all. Look at my photos and look at the photos on Expedia and see for yourself. A real shame, because the location is great.

The room itself was nice enough. It was clean upon our arrival, but there was no room cleaning service provided over our 3 night stay. After the second night we asked for clean towels which we got, however, when we asked for a broom, they said they didn’t have one. They leave a tip envelope in the room, but provide virtually no service while u are there. Having said all this, it’s still a decent location and this didn’t ruin our trip by any means. Just wud have been nice to have the room cleaned and garbages emptied.

Très jolie,endroit propre par contre,le bain est bloqué par un ama de cheveux dans le drain et le coulis sur le bord du bain tombe dedans!!! Mais en sommes,très belle expérience,je reviendrai assurément. Coup de cœur pour le matelas très confortable,oreillers aussi et en quantité suffisante,machine à café dans les chambres et Cup fournis,petit frigo dans la chambre très pratique.

Localisation géniale et très calme. Je dois dire que la propreté n'est pas parfaite. Le lit était impeccable, mais les murs ont vraiment besoin d'être peinturé et nettoyé. Les plaintes sont sales. Dans la salle de bain, le ventilateur de la douche est un trou dans le plafond. La douche elle-même ne m'inspirait pas confiance. Les verres d'eau étaient si égratignés que nous pensions qu'ils étaient sales.

Absolutely fabulous location right behind the chateau Frontenac, opposite Jardin de Gouvener where you can see raccoons and squirrels in the summer. 2 minutes walk to Dufferin Terrace and close to the main hub Place de l’Assembly. There is no lift. If you cannot walk up stairs or need help with your bags, this is not the property for you. The room cleaning leaves a lot to be desired. They are upgrading some of the rooms - my husband is a builder and whoever is doing the renovating, work is beyond substandard. My room had a new bathroom, nowhere the put soap, hang a towel, the new shower screen leaked on the floor and the new sink has a dry waste, so smelt like a sewer. I thought the window was going to fall apart when I opened it for some air. The desk is not manned after hours.

The view of the St Lawrence River was one sliver through the trees if you contorted your body some. The room was tiny and had no seating area. Great location but three flights to our tiny room was not fun.

Very close to everything! Could hear every person walking up the stairs tho and the Sink gurgled and bubbled all night keeping us up. Over all good stay but could use some matentince

Difficult parking. Very thin walls; I could hear everything from the next room. They woke me up several times. The sink was stopped up. The shower entrance was the width of 2 toothbrushes-I measured.. You cannot be overweight and fit in that shower. But…the location was PERFECT

Rooms are compact. They look much larger in the photos. Toilets are small with a sliding door that hardly provides any privacy. The location is excellent.

The hotel is in a perfect location, it was downhill from there. The walls and floor are paper thin and we could not sleep at night with the people upstairs stomping on the floor until 11p at night. The noise was constant. It was impossible for us to sleep. One night, we ran out of toilet paper - checked under the sink - nothing. In the middle of night, my daughter searched by front desk to find the toilet paper.

The location is at the center of everything. The shower is a bit small.

The manager was very friendly and helpful. The location was great, right next door to historic The Château Hotel. We were close to everything. The balcony was very nice to have with a great view, although it could use some updating. The room was OK, but clean. The floors were in terrible shape, and need to be replaced. Would we stay again...yes.

Great location in a quiet corner next to the Fairmont Hotel, just minutes walk to the main Rue Saint-Jean and the road down to the lower old city area. The room was a bit old, but inevitable for staying at a historical old building. The bathroom was a bit too small, no shelf or hooks to hang clothes. But overall, the experience was good. The hotel had self serve coffee in the lobby, which was nice.

I would like to thank the front desk clerk who was working at around noon on December 21. I didn't realize I had left my purse with money and passports and he gave it back. THANK YOU!!! Besides this incident, the staff was great. They gave me coffee and provided everything I asked for. The bed sheets smelled so good!!! The view to the park was wonderful. I would definitely stay here again!!!!!

I will preface all of this with, the woman at the front desk was very friendly. She is why staff get 3 stars instead of 1. The building looks like it's borderline falling apart. My friend and I stayed in 2 rooms. Mine looked like they might've given up on some remodeling halfway through. It had a huge hole in the wall behind the mini fridge, smelled strongly of paint, and had plaster under the bed. My luggage kept rolling to the middle of the room if I stood it up on its wheels. It was unfortunately after 9pm when I returned to the hotel and my room the first night, and struggled to be in there with the smell of paint. There are no staff after 9pm and a sign provided an emergency number. I called the emergency line to see about a different room, left a voicemail, and never received a call back or any mention of my request the next day. Back to the state of the room, there was a square cutout of drywall in the bathroom and toilet paper was shoved into where the cut was made. I honestly wish I had thought to take pictures. The shower was also very small, and the pillows were incredibly lumpy. In my friend's room, he had to cover an outlet under the window with a bag as it had rained during the night and the window was leaking so badly it was pouring off the sill and directly onto the electrical outlet. A call to the emergency line was made for this as well, and he never received a call back or further inquiry about this obvious fire hazard.

Staff member recognized my name upon checking in. Helped carry the luggage up the 3 flight of stairs, showed me where to park and made 2 suggestions of where to eat.

Extremely helpful staff, central to the main market/ tourist attraction and amazing views. Convenient to come and relax in between sightseeing . We stayed in the room with the balcony and it was great. Coffee is available complimentary, wish they had tea as it wouldn’t be much extra cost to the hotel for non coffee drinkers. Overall really accommodating staff and a great deal for the price given the location.

The location was excellent. The staff not so much. Put the “clean our room please” sign on the door when we left at 9 am. We returned after 6pm and it wasn’t done. Also the one day that they came in the room they did not replace our dirty cups with clean. We had to wash ourselves. The front desk is not regularly staffed so you are pretty much on your own. Google becomes your bestie.

The garage was full, but the hotel clerk was helpful to find another garage but it was very far away.. The desk was empty most times, but we managed. Love the area and our room was fine! thank you!

Located right next to the Chateau Frontenac, making it a prime location to stay in at an affordable rate. The Toboggan ride at Dufferin terrace, funiculare, the famous Petit Champlain street with the goblin door and the Quebec citadel are all within walking distance. A lot of restaurants near by as well. Hotel does not provide breakfast though, but the rooms are well maintained. No parking space. 5 min can ride to the Via rail station, 25 min to the airport

The location of this hotel is literally at the center of everything. Although there is no elevator, there are at least 3 rooms on the first floor which is the ground floor, no need elevator. By the way it’s just 2 minutes walk from the iconic Chateau Frontenac!

The room was charming and more than adequate for our 3 night stay. The location is unbeatable(right beside Chateau Frontenac). Walking distance to all attractions, shops and restaurants. We enjoyed Quebec City and hope to come again. .

We enjoyed our stay. It’s an older hotel so don’t expect modern facilities. It’s plain, no continental breakfast but there is a Keurig in room with coffee (but no tea). Room was clean and beds were very comfortable. Located in Old Quebec so Walking distance to dining and shopping. Very convenient location. The city at this time of year was beautiful. Would definitely recommend.

Had the room with the balcony which was nice to sit on and people watch. The room is not big but it is comfortable. There is plenty of coffee and cream either in the room.or in the lobby.

This hotel was clean, very close to the Christmas markets, with a generous size room. The hotel didn’t offer housekeeping services, the coffee machine was very convenient and the coffee was good. However there were times when there were no cups. There were lots of restaurants around for breakfast and dinner.
