ラウンジが広くアルコールも含めフリードリンクのため食事前にお酒を飲みながらゆっくりすることができました。温泉も硫黄の匂いが強く湯の花が舞う本格的な温泉で滞在中3回楽しみました。ご飯も美味しかったです。

Onsen was very nice and clean. The outdoor area was beautiful! They have everything you need already stocked: shampoo, conditioner, body wash and then towels, hair dryers, lotions and other body care items. If you have tattoos, you will need to cover them before going into the onsen. The front desk sells a pack of 10 tattoo cover patches for 250 yen. We really enjoyed dinner and breakfast and the open bar serving sake, hot wine and beer in the lobby when we arrived was a pleasant and welcomed surprise. The staff was very friendly and accommodating too. Rooms were very clean and premises very well kept. Upon check out, we paid a minimal onsen tax which was about 450 yen. It takes about 45 minutes via taxi from the Nikko train station. The taxi is expensive. You can also take a bus and the hotel can shuttle you the rest of the way from the local bus stop. You will want to make the shuttle arrangements before your trip.

温泉が途中から温水プール以下に冷たくなった。理由を聞くと、番頭が午後から休みのため、代わりのスタッフによる人的ミスで湯せんが閉められていたと説明。それも定かではなく、もしかしたら客が湯せんをしめた可能性もあると。源泉かけ流しと言いながら男女風呂どちらもお湯が出てなく、湯せんがしてられてた事を客が原因かもしれないと話すところがもうサービス業としてありえない。返金を求めて、応じるといいこちらの口座情報を聞き出して置いて、まだ返金されない。個人情報の管理もちゃんとなされてない気がして、不安でならほい。またスタッフが少なすぎる。夜は2-3人程度しかいないと当着のスタッフに聞いた。たくさん客がいるのにスタッフが少ないのは、何か問題があった時対応できないと思われる。しかも温泉の温度管理について支配人と連絡もつかなかった。本当に全額返金して頂きたいぐらい最悪でした

チェックイン時に部屋の場所をフロントが判りやすく説明してくれず、途中で引き返してまた説明を受ける羽目に。部屋はきれいだが、ゴキジェットがすぐ視界に入り興ざめ。エアコンがなかなか効かない。食事時だったせいかフロントが電話に出てくれない。夕飯に時間がかかり過ぎ。宿についてから風邪をひいたのでかなり拷問でした(一つの食事が出るまでに20分以上かかるケースも) 大浴場が煩わしいことから露天風呂付客室を予約したのですが、洗い場はなく温泉でもない。フロントへ問い合わせたら客室内の洗い場を使用するようにとのこと。こんなことならこの宿を予約しなかった。結果、大浴場へ行き、露天風呂を利用したのだが、足元が暗いのに段差があり、転んだ。幸い怪我はなかったが。唯一良かったのは、夕飯時に体調優れなかったのですが、薬を飲むための水をお願いしたら膝掛けをご用意くださったことです。予約したときは期待が大きかった分、かなり愕然としました。

Séjour d'une nuit agréable dans un hôtel avec vue sur la forêt. Le dîner était excellent, le bar à boissons très appréciable, et malgré une période touristique, nous avons pu profiter du onsen sans qu'il soit bondé. Un brin de nettoyage supplémentaire dans les sanitaires de la chambre aurait été un plus.

Séjour d'une nuit agréable dans un hôtel avec vue sur la forêt. Le dîner était excellent, le bar à boissons très appréciable, et malgré une période touristique, nous avons pu profiter du onsen sans qu'il soit bondé. 掲載写真とは程遠く食事も年配の方向けなのか… お肉は美味しかったです。また、客室露天風呂は長年の汚れか湯船の中が所々緑くて洗っても落ちませんでした。チェックイン後すぐお湯をはり浸かってみましたが涼しくて気持ちよかったです。

Feels very upmarket from the entrance all the way to the room. The Japanese room I stayed in felt extremely large; like a 5-star hotel in Tokyo. The washbasin area looks modern and is well equipped with amenities, including a face steamer. Separate toilet is large. Bathtub is deep for a good soak with a nice view of the outside. Parking is limited in front so you need to drive further in or up the slope. May be inconvenient if you are alone with heavy luggage and arriving late. Some of the fixtures also need attention as the mixer switch at the bathtub (room 305) was broken with sharp edges; this can be a risk for children, those with poor eyesight or using it in low light. I did not use the hot springs as I spend most of the time exploring the area by car. Highly recommended for couples, lone travellers and small families.

ネットで申し込んだ和室部屋とは、違った広さの和室部屋だった。部屋風呂の温度調節の蛇口が壊れていてお風呂に入れず。もう2度と行かない。スタッフの対応はまずまず。QRコードでのチェックイン、アウトだが結果的にはフロント担当者との会話が必要でQRコードは必要ないと思う。

施設もスタッフもとても良かった。ただ寝る時に枕元に電源がないのが残念。今のご時世、寝る時にスマホを充電したい、枕元にスマホを置きたい、という人は多いはず。充電ケーブルの貸し出しなどでいいので案内が欲しいところ。

Feels very upmarket from the entrance all the way to the room. The Japanese room I stayed in felt extremely large; like a 5-star hotel in Tokyo. The washbasin area looks modern and is well equipped with amenities, including a face steamer. Separate toilet is large. Bathtub is deep for a good soak with a nice view of the outside. Parking is limited in front so you need to drive further in or up the slope. May be inconvenient if you are alone with heavy luggage and arriving late. Some of the fixtures also need attention as the mixer switch at the bathtub (room 305) was broken with sharp edges; this can be a risk for children, those with poor eyesight or using it in low light. I did not use the hot springs as I spend most of the time exploring the area by car. Highly recommended for couples, lone travellers and small families.

チェックイン時に部屋の場所をフロントが判りやすく説明してくれず、途中で引き返してまた説明を受ける羽目に。部屋はきれいだが、ゴキジェットがすぐ視界に入り興ざめ。エアコンがなかなか効かない。食事時だったせいかフロントが電話に出てくれない。夕飯に時間がかかり過ぎ。宿についてから風邪をひいたのでかなり拷問でした(一つの食事が出るまでに20分以上かかるケースも) 大浴場が煩わしいことから露天風呂付客室を予約したのですが、洗い場はなく温泉でもない。フロントへ問い合わせたら客室内の洗い場を使用するようにとのこと。こんなことならこの宿を予約しなかった。結果、大浴場へ行き、露天風呂を利用したのだが、足元が暗いのに段差があり、転んだ。幸い怪我はなかったが。唯一良かったのは、夕飯時に体調優れなかったのですが、薬を飲むための水をお願いしたら膝掛けをご用意くださったことです。予約したときは期待が大きかった分、かなり愕然としました。

Onsen was very nice and clean. The outdoor area was beautiful! They have everything you need already stocked: shampoo, conditioner, body wash and then towels, hair dryers, lotions and other body care items. If you have tattoos, you will need to cover them before going into the onsen. The front desk sells a pack of 10 tattoo cover patches for 250 yen. We really enjoyed dinner and breakfast and the open bar serving sake, hot wine and beer in the lobby when we arrived was a pleasant and welcomed surprise. The staff was very friendly and accommodating too. Rooms were very clean and premises very well kept. Upon check out, we paid a minimal onsen tax which was about 450 yen. It takes about 45 minutes via taxi from the Nikko train station. The taxi is expensive. You can also take a bus and the hotel can shuttle you the rest of the way from the local bus stop. You will want to make the shuttle arrangements before your trip.

餐廳的服務人員服務非常好，時常面帶笑容，讓住客覺得親切愉快。可惜，今天12/3/2024，退房時，櫃檯的皮膚黝黑的男性員工，表現非常不耐煩，令人覺得錯愕，這是傳統日式旅館的服務嗎？其他員工的努力，被他一個人給破壞了！！

温泉が途中から温水プール以下に冷たくなった。理由を聞くと、番頭が午後から休みのため、代わりのスタッフによる人的ミスで湯せんが閉められていたと説明。それも定かではなく、もしかしたら客が湯せんをしめた可能性もあると。源泉かけ流しと言いながら男女風呂どちらもお湯が出てなく、湯せんがしてられてた事を客が原因かもしれないと話すところがもうサービス業としてありえない。返金を求めて、応じるといいこちらの口座情報を聞き出して置いて、まだ返金されない。個人情報の管理もちゃんとなされてない気がして、不安でならほい。またスタッフが少なすぎる。夜は2-3人程度しかいないと当着のスタッフに聞いた。たくさん客がいるのにスタッフが少ないのは、何か問題があった時対応できないと思われる。しかも温泉の温度管理について支配人と連絡もつかなかった。本当に全額返金して頂きたいぐらい最悪でした

朝食夕食ともに素材・味付けが良く、美味しくいただきました。温泉は温度ちょうど良く、湯の花につつまれて温まりました。外気温がマイナス10度位だったせいか、お部屋とダイニングが少し寒く感じました。家族5人で利用しましたが、満足しています。

ラウンジが広くアルコールも含めフリードリンクのため食事前にお酒を飲みながらゆっくりすることができました。温泉も硫黄の匂いが強く湯の花が舞う本格的な温泉で滞在中3回楽しみました。ご飯も美味しかったです。

Séjour d'une nuit agréable dans un hôtel avec vue sur la forêt. Le dîner était excellent, le bar à boissons très appréciable, et malgré une période touristique, nous avons pu profiter du onsen sans qu'il soit bondé. Un brin de nettoyage supplémentaire dans les sanitaires de la chambre aurait été un plus.

I had a fantastic experience at Hotel Shikisai. The staff were extremely courteous and attentive, the food was excellent (we got the "basic" coursed meal and it was divine!) and the setting is gorgeous and peaceful. Hotel Shikisai has a cozy lived-in feel, but don't take this to mean it is well-worn or undesirable AT ALL. It has a sentimental charm. Picture your favorite old forest lodge (for me it brings up the many WPA lodges in National Parks and National Forests in the States). We had the private onsen, and it was definitely worth any extra cost to pour a private epsom bath while gazing out at the forest on a rainy afternoon. Also, they keep you "hydrated" with free coffee, tea and happy hour booze on the daily!

スタッフの方の皆様がとても対応がよく、笑顔で接していただき、2泊したが食事も毎回変わっていて大変美味しかったです。 2泊目の夕食時のご飯が硬いところがあり、残してしまいました。朝の残りかと思いました。大浴場の温泉は満足！ただ、足が不自由な母と一緒だった為、エレベーターがあると助かります。あと、足が不自由な母は部屋の露天風呂を楽しみにしていましたが、内風呂も部屋露天風呂も温泉じゃなかったのは非常に残念でした。
