We stayed at the Lynwood Inn on this trip to Cape Breton (we visit family living in CB every year) because they have a high speed electric car charger onsite and we now have an electric car. Unforturnatly, the high speed charger was unable to charge our car and the standby low speed unit was in use when we needed a charge, so I had to visit a low speed charger located at the Alexander Graham Bell Museum and walk back to the hotel for the night and back to the museum in the morning to retrieve our car. Nova Scotia east of the Halifax metro area is an EV charger wasteland and, in spite of our experience, the Lynwood Inn should be commended for working to change that.

Clean and comfortable rooms with everything you need. I must mention though, we stayed during low season so amenities were limited. The restaurant was closed. Coin operated laundry was closed and the ice machine was not operating. Needs convenient store is so close that it is almost in the parking lot and you can see the local pizza shop from your room window so still lots of options. I do love the location and coziness of this hotel even with limited amenities.

The room was clean but a little small. We actually picked this hotel because of the free EV charging available. The restaurant was great and an added bonus since we arrived late and didn't have time to find another place to dine. Room for improvements - The toilet was leaking. There was no freezer as part of the fridge but glad that there was an ice machine available. The internet was so slow that we didn't bother to use it - there was poor bandwidth.

Our double queen room was spacious and very clean. We enjoyed a nightcap at the restaurant while listening to guitar player. The beds could be a bit softer, we did sleep well. Would stay there again.

This is a good place to stay when in Baddeck. The hotel is within easy walking distance of restaurants and the museum. The rooms are clean and the beds comfortable. However, the walls seem to be thin so they do not block out the talking or snoring from the room next door. Other than this, it is a great spot.

I always start positive. Bathrooms and bedroom very clean. Carpets in common area worn stained and smelled Front desk and staff curt Wanted just a glass of wine from bar to end evening. and was told dismissively to go back in dining room and see host. Host sent us back out to bar. Bar tender then Disappeared and we gave up went to room.

The Lynwood inn is in a great location and the staff is extremely nice. The hotel wall was paper thin and being on the ground floor every single time anyone opened or closed the entrance door it resulted in a slam that was audibly felt and heard in our room. Additionally you could hear everyone walking up or down the stairs. Using earplugs did not help. The bed configuration almost needs to be switched so your head isn't against the slamming door. Or at a minimum they need to fix the door jam so it isn't slamming constantly. This is most likely only an issue for the 1 room we got but all 4 of us had an inconsistent sleep due to the noise. We left more tired than arriving.

Our waitress at breakfast was almost invisible. No checking up on us, no refills, no contact. Whereas the young man who served the other tables was delightful to observe. Talked about where he was from, common grounds with his clients, gave good tourist info. Maybe you were short staffed and our waitress had to work in the kitchen as well but the difference in service was extreme.

A perfect little spot to enjoy Baddeck on foot. Close to food and sights and entertainment and shopping. Well appointed rooms, comfy in a style of the early years. Enjoyed having restaurant attached, a Ceilidh across the street. Also enjoyed having laundry facility on site.

This is a dated inn. The rooms were clean and had a fridge and coffee maker, however the furniture was dated, the curtains were badly faded in areas were the sun had been hitting them and the pictures on the wall were also dated. Our room was at the end of the hall and so we did not good wifi. This was frustrating, especially for my children. The rooms had thin walls and we could hear conversations next door until late at night. Most staff were friendly, and one did attempt to help us with the wifi without any luck, but the woman who checked us in was unfriendly and continued the task she was doing at the desk before attending to me. The breakfast at their restaurant was good, however I had my worst lobster dinner ever with gritty mussels and overcooked vegetables. I could not eat most of it.

Family of 3. Clean rooms, nice balcony off bedroom. Very clean washroom facilities and would highly recommend and stay again. Dining onsite was.delicious but def priced for tourist season. Only1 critique: breakfast really high priced for what is offered, should be priced more fairly for your guests.so they.dont.go elsewhere for.first meal of the day.
