Great downtown property - easy walk to Main Street, harbour front and Victoria park. Loads of great restaurants within 10 min walk. Staff were very personable, helpful, caring. Great breakfast buffet. Free Provincial Park pass very helpful. Onsite parking and Laundry facilities with free soap was icing on the cake. Highly recommend staying here

The staff were incredibly hospitable and thoughtful. The breakfasts were filling. The room was clean and well stocked. The only call out I have is that since it is a century home, there are no elevators. Ensure that you double check that the room is on the ground floor if you have difficulty climbing steep stairs. The actual property is very close to both the water’s edge as well as downtown Charlottetown. Overall, a very enjoyable stay!

The property was an old mansion. This place is huge. The owners have set it up so on every floor you can grab coffee/tea free and water bottles or pop for $1.00. The place has a common sitting area, a huge dining area with free breakfast. House is super clean, staff are great. The room was small but had everything we meeded. Pretty sure bed was brand new, nice and firm. Area is right downtown, easy access to anything. Would highly reccommend.

The Sonata Inn was our home away from home. The property is beautiful, well maintained and walking distance to everything. Chris was super helpful offering recommendations. The breakfast was outstanding and plentiful with hot and cold options. Coffee/tea/juices/home baked good available 24/7. We would definitely stay here again!

Chris was a fantastic host. Very comfortable and spacious room. Breakfast was great, and hot drinks and snacks were available all day. Easy parking. Laundry very useful. Charlottetown was a lovely place to visit.

This property is amazing. Don’t expect your plain Best Western here. The staff go beyond the call to make you feel at home. The house is a beautifully maintained vintage home with loads of charm. Modern amenities like air conditioning are there. We had the big suite on the top floor but they helped with our suitcases so no problem there. They even have beach towels for you to use. I only wish I had booked more days here. Breakfast was always fresh and plentiful. Looking forward to returning to PEI soon and staying here again.

Nice looking property in a beautiful Victorian neighborhood. Can walk to downtown and the Victorian Boardwalk. Staff was very helpful. Great breakfast. There was an accessible laundry room where we could inexpensively wash our clothes. Much appreciated!

We had a fantastic 2- night stay at the Sonata in. The Owner's were very friendly and helpful. Their "continental" breakfast was way more than expected, with scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon, cereals and different pastries each morning! They also had a great selection of coffee, teas and juices! They even had a washer and dryer available for use for a small fee of $1 , which was a great surprise as we were half way through a 12 day road trip! It was a wonderful place to stay!

Great service and very friendly! Rooms are a bit older with paint peeling and some stains on bathroom wall. Comforter also had some stains, but sheets were clean. Great location and breakfast as well. Very quiet too.

Location is only 10 minutes walk into downtown, everything was spotlessly clean and there is parking. The staff were very helpful and we’d happily stay at the Sonata Inn again.

Staff beyond excellent hospitality and friendliness! Loved everything about the place and would stay again or recommend :) Only one thing could improve.. check/clean the filter of the AC/air unit. It did smell musty when it’s turned on. Everything else is excellent! Thank you for everything <3

This guest house was recommended in a travel blog. It did not disappoint. It is in a great location, the water front/eateries are within an easy walking distance. Our room was spotlessly clean and a great size. The breakfast was good, there is tea & coffee available at all times in the dining room. Juice was also available which was great. Beach towels were available to borrow. The owners are very nice happy people

Great location and the hosts were very helpful. The room while spacious might need some upgrades. Eg the AC was old and very noisy measured at 50 dB hard to sleep with it. The mattress also didn’t seem to have much support and the pillows were too thin for our preference

We had a good stay at the Sonata Inn. It’s in a beautiful historic neighborhood, it’s in a great walkable location and near the waterfront, Victory Park, and lots of shops and restaurants. Parking is easy, breakfast is very good, and the staff are friendly and helpful. My only critique is that the rooms ( at least our room ) was in need of renovation. Although clean, the paint was chipped, bathtub grout was stained, furniture and carpets were old, and neither of the TV’s worked. (it may have been because we were not using the remotes properly but there were no directions in the room). The pros outweighed the cons and as long as you can overlook that it’s somewhat run down you’ll have a pleasant stay.

Incredible service and a good breakfast. We were on the third floor, it was very quiet and the bed was comfortable. Our only suggestion is that the room we stayed in needs a better window covering. It was sheer and too much morning light game through.

Older premises, clean but not very well sound proofed. The snoring from upstairs customer woke me up at 3 a.m.! Nice breakfast and very friendly staff in attendance. Great off street parking. Good location, a few blocks walk to restaurants and bars, which was hood, as it was quiet from street noise at least.

We liked the convenient location as it was easy walking to Queen Street and the waterfront for dining, shopping, and theatre. Our room was on the third floor. While outside our room was very warm, our room was very comfortable with air conditioning. The only issue with the room was the slanted wall on one side of the bed, required the person sleeping on that side to be careful or bumping their head. The staff were very helpful, answering any questions we had, making recommendations, and arranging our taxi to the airport.

We enjoyed the King James Room very much. It is on the first floor and both the bedroom and bath are unusually spacious. Very comfortable bed, and the window opens for fresh air. The bathroom needs new linoleum, but other than that—high marks for the room and breakfast.

The room was very small and the way things are set up were ackward to move around or place our luggage. The rooms need some upgrades in paint and windows. Breakfast was nice and coffe was very good. We appreciate the age of the structures but some sprucing up walls floors and windows would make it enjoyable.

The Inn is conveniently located and the staff members were extremely friendly! The only downside would be the amount of soundproofing between adjacent rooms. Though, I still really enjoyed my stay.

Extremely friendly staff who really took the time to show all the areas of the house and where complementary food and drinks can be found, day and night (coffee/tea) or sodas for a small fee. Great hospitality. Room was good. Clean and with all the necessities. Breakfast was great and plenty of choices. Would recommend this location.

We stayed at The Sonata Inn for 3 nights early June. We loved our stay here! The rooms are spacious, with comfortable beds, bedding and pillows. The room was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The breakfast area is lovely and there are plenty of choices for breakfast. We enjoyed the baking Li provided everyday. Our flight arrived around midnight, but Chris was there to great us, and let us know we could help ourselves to tea, coffee, etc at any time of day! There’s another small communal kitchen on the upper floor which is handy. We also enjoyed the little sunroom sitting area off the reception area, a great spot to sit and read or enjoy an evening glass of wine. The Staff, Chris and Li, went above and beyond to see that we had a place to safely store our e-bikes and charge them each night. They also helped us with our restaurant choices and there are many within easy walking distance from the hotels location, so we thought this was perfect. The other travellers at this hotel were very friendly as well and shared their PEI adventures! A friendly relaxed vibe, and a place we looked forward to coming home to during our stay in Charlottetown. We highly recommend The Sonata Inn!

Staff was amazing. They were informative, friendly and went way beyond what was expected. They brought our luggage to our rooms when we got there and to the car when we left. Such a unexpected service. Fresh cookies and treats at the frint counter. Steaming hot food whenever we ate breakfast. They had juice and coffee available the whole time we were there. You could purchase bottled water and canned drinks in a fridge on the second floor for a $1. They have a nice sitting room with lots of windows. We used that lots. Beds were firmer than I expected but were ok for sleeping. Pillows could be upgraded. Two were super thin and 2 were extremely thick and firm. Overall I would recommend this place and would stay here again if we were passing this way.

We had a good stay at the Sonata Inn. It’s in a beautiful historic neighborhood, it’s in a great walkable location and near the waterfront, Victory Park, and lots of shops and restaurants. Parking is easy, breakfast is very good, and the staff are friendly and helpful. My only critique is that the rooms ( at least our room ) was in need of renovation. Although clean, the paint was chipped, bathtub grout was stained, furniture and carpets were old, and neither of the TV’s worked. (it may have been because we were not using the remotes properly but there were no directions in the room). The pros outweighed the cons and as long as you can overlook that it’s somewhat run down you’ll have a pleasant stay.

Great downtown property - easy walk to Main Street, harbour front and Victoria park. Loads of great restaurants within 10 min walk. Staff were very personable, helpful, caring. Great breakfast buffet. Free Provincial Park pass very helpful. Onsite parking and Laundry facilities with free soap was icing on the cake. Highly recommend staying here

We had a lovely stay here. The host was very calm and kind, just delightful. The room was perfect for us and breakfast was great— the welcome cookies and morning banana bread was an especially nice treat. We have already recommended the inn to our family. Especially for the location. It is a quiet neighbourhood but only a five minute walk to downtown or ten minutes to the harbour. For a walk on the boardwalk around Victoria Park is was only a few steps. Couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay on our last night on PEI!

Great location, as it's within walking distance to all the attractions in the downtown area. The staff is very friendly and provided excellent recommendations for places to visit and eat. We stayed for three nights and would definitely stay here again if we visit Charlottetown. The bed was comfortable, and the free breakfast was a nice bonus.

This is the second time we have stayed at this B&B and never disappointed. The staff are very friendly and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Close to restaurants, boardwalk and downtown. Would definitely stay here again.

Nice looking property in a beautiful Victorian neighborhood. Can walk to downtown and the Victorian Boardwalk. Staff was very helpful. Great breakfast. There was an accessible laundry room where we could inexpensively wash our clothes. Much appreciated!

The property was an old mansion. This place is huge. The owners have set it up so on every floor you can grab coffee/tea free and water bottles or pop for $1.00. The place has a common sitting area, a huge dining area with free breakfast. House is super clean, staff are great. The room was small but had everything we meeded. Pretty sure bed was brand new, nice and firm. Area is right downtown, easy access to anything. Would highly reccommend.

My husband and I stayed 1 night on our drive through Charlottetown. This Inn is very quiet and charming, and the owners are very helpful and go out of their way to help make the stay pleasant. The hot breakfast was really tasty and had a lot of offerings like scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, cereal, toast, tea, coffee, juice, Erfurt, yogurt, etc. Our room was on top floor and was very spacious and clean. We would stay again for sure!

This property is amazing. Don’t expect your plain Best Western here. The staff go beyond the call to make you feel at home. The house is a beautifully maintained vintage home with loads of charm. Modern amenities like air conditioning are there. We had the big suite on the top floor but they helped with our suitcases so no problem there. They even have beach towels for you to use. I only wish I had booked more days here. Breakfast was always fresh and plentiful. Looking forward to returning to PEI soon and staying here again.

The hosts are very welcoming, they take care of details, they bake their own pastries for breakfast and their beds are very comfortable. The hot breakfast is delicious, they have a kitchenette to use (if needed) and they go above the call of duty to assist! We hope to come back to the Sonata Inn.

The Inn was very quaint and on a beautiful street that was very convenient to downtown Charlottetown. While the inside of the Inn was a bit tired, the staff was friendly, the room was large, and the facilities all worked well and as intended. It was nice to have a breakfast, it had some hits and misses. Signage about breakfast options would have been helpful and saved time for staff. Overall it was a great deal and I'd certainly recommend a friend looks at the Sonata as a place to stay.

A superb B&B close to the downtown area and walkable to the parks and quayside areas. The rooms are spacious, the breakfast excellent and the staff charming. Tea/Coffee is available all day. An added bonus is access to the laundry for just $1 with laundry detergent free - a perfect stay.
