Pocono Mountains Hotel and Spa

Place smelled of mold from 50' away. Room was worse. The listed lake access was non existent. Doors were low quality push-button lock style. The outdoor patio opened to an unkempt yard and mostly marked as a dog walk. My wife was unable to take the smell and we checked out the same day. I ran the tiny ac for 3 hours while we went out. Hoped it would dry the room out and remove the smell, resulted in a cold mold smell. Spent a total of 1 hour on site. Two days later I'm suffering from mold induced lung issues. Not recommended.

The room was clean. The property is older, needs to be updated. The hot water system needs to be updated. The outside needs some much needed updating & lawn maintenance.

How could you even list this property as a motel no less hotel and spa. No sign to mark the property. Old rusty outdoor furniture. A dehumidifier was turned on hours after we got there. .m. The lake was a wetlands with no beach located through the woods across a road. Spa meant a blowup hot tub. . No hot water and a small bottle of unmarked liquid beside the sink. I will never use your site again. Even the server at a nearby restaurant who gave us directions did not recommend it. We did not stay the second night. It wasn't really a open working property. Please remove it for your reputation.

This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. I had reservations for two nights but left early on the first morning. The decor in the common areas and my appeared to be collected from what had not sold at a yard sale. Some of the of the wall hangings were plastic. Mismatched furnishings were of old, poor quality materials. Electrical cords ran along the walls. The bathroom amenities were a partial bottle of something green and another empty dispenser. Ceiling tiles in the hallway were hanging or completely missing, exposing wiring. A wall heating unit looked ancient and had a length of "caution" tape affixed to it. The locks on the room doors were minimal thumb-turns latches with no deadbolts, even to the exterior. Exterior features like picnic tables were dirty and mismatched. Some structures were broken. Most concerning was the pervasive smell throughout the hallways, of must, or cigarettes, or animals. The carpet is a patchwork of samples, and very old. The manager expressed some pride that the place had not been improved in decades. The manager had indicated at least coffee in the morning, and there was a big commercial-type machine in the lobby, there were no supplies or coffee. The desk was not staffed in the morning. Restaurants are not nearby this place. There is no "spa." A weedy lake is near the property, but it is not for swimming. My mistake was not leaving the minute I looked around.

1 Night Stay- Cute place, but… Firstly I’ll start with when we first arrived, there’s a paper on the door that states you must call/text a number to get a code to get in. Odd, but ok. Secondly, once we got in, we stood in the lobby for about 15 minutes before a lady came out to greet us. (She was nice) but that was a bit inconsiderate to leave us there after a long drive/day. Then I’m told my card declined…. It definitely shouldn’t have declined, so clearly it was something he was doing on his end, (the lady was on the phone with, I’m assuming the owner, he was not present) but we went back and forth confirming numbers, etc. then asked to pay cash, then confirming every detail on my card again, it worked. Moving on, it was absolutely freezing inside and there was no way to accommodate our own temperature. Furthermore, the pool was closed, the hallways reeked of cat urine, our room “looked clean”, but you can tell it doesn’t get properly or professionally cleaned on a daily basis or even after each stay. There were cob webs all over our room, including the shower ceiling, which also had a hole in it with what looked like a paper towel to “plug” it. The start was ice cold so showering was not great. Wiring/cords everywhere. The sheets were disgusting and smelt like BO and the comforter had stains all over it. Oh, and there was a mouse running around our room! I get it’s the mountains, but come on! We also couldn’t connect to our tv. I could go on, but All in all, never again!
