現存する日本最古のリゾートホテル。その歴史を堪能するつもりで宿泊。本館3Fのデラックスダブルで2食付プラン。宿泊者限定の館内ツアーはホテルの歴史や逸話を聞くことができ楽しかった。夕食は2つのコースから選択。金谷ホテル伝統の虹鱒ソテーはバター醤油ソースとのこと。小ぶりだったためか調理法なのかわからないが骨も柔らかく頭も骨も残さず丸ごと食してしまった。マナー的にはダメ？かも… 朝食はコンチネンタルスタイル。外の景色を眺めながら食べたければオープンと同時に行く方が良いと思う。建物は古いがそれも趣き。部屋の設備も必要なものは完備されている。間取りは贅沢な広さがありくつろげる。現代的なホテルの快適さ便利さとは違う何かを感じたいと思うならお勧め。
